Tall, Dark and Dangerous...they’re who you call to get out of a tight spot...or into one. Four sexy Navy SEALS find heartstopping adventure and blistering romance in these captivating stories by New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann. Bundle includes Prince Joe, Forever Blue, Frisco’s Kid and Everyday, Average Jones.
After childhood plans to become the captain of a starship didn’t pan out, Suzanne Brockmann took her fascination with military history, her respect for the men and women who serve, her reverence for diversity, and her love of storytelling, and explored brave new worlds as a bestselling romance author.
Over the past thirty years she has written sixty-three novels, including her award-winning Troubleshooters series about Navy SEAL heroes and the women—and sometimes men—who win their hearts. Her personal favorite is the one where her most popular character, gay FBI agent Jules Cassidy, wins his happily-ever-after and marries the man of his dreams. Called All Through the Night, this mainstream romance novel with a hero and a hero hit the New York Times hardcover fiction bestseller list. In 2007, Suz donated all of her earnings from this book, in perpetuity, to MassEquality, to help win and preserve equal marriage rights in Massachusetts.
In addition to writing books, Suz writes and produces indie movies and TV including the award-winning romantic comedy The Perfect Wedding. Her recent feature, Out of Body, is streaming on Amazon Prime.
In 2018, Suz was given the Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award from the Romance Writers of America. Her latest projects are Blame It on Rio (Tall, Dark & Dangerous # 14), available in print and e-book from Suzanne Brockmann Books, and Marriage of Inconvenience, a six-episode LBGTQ rom-com TV series, streaming on Dekkoo in April 2023.
This series is great. Each story is different but vastly entertaining. Each person is vastly different and so are the situations. Great reading entertainment.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading the series about the Seals and the adventures they shared as they met and finally married the women in their lives. Happy reading.
Gotta love a man in uniform (sigh). - Ok, I could barely make it outta Prince Joe. But am soooo glad I did. Prince Joe had me so hung up in my refusal to embrace that things between the 2 main characters went from zero to 100 in like 2 days. However, the rest of the stories TOTALLY RESTORED MY FAITH IN THIS AUTHOR. I purchased the series based on the effusively glowing praise heeped on it by other readers. Something I never like to do but I was bored and just wanted a mental break. Something light and fluffy with great alpha males and reasonably strong females.
All the men, even Prince Joe Catalanotto are hot, hot, and HAWT Navy Seals and in spite a commonality of threads woven throughout each book that might have made them sound exactly alike, Ms. Brockmann handles the story lineS and their development deftly so that you don't feel like you read the same tired plot somewhere else before. To be honest I did not much like the Prince Joe story because of how the author handled the pacing - Oh my goodness I got SEAL-sick. This story had plenty going for it at the start. It started quickly and well then drrraaagggeeeddd on and on. Then the pace picks up then it draggggs on again. Then it gets really good and then draaaaaggs on again... and then.. Over.
Veronique, Veronica, Ron, Ronnie - Da-do-run-run what the hell! She was this gelatanous character that was there like a puff of smoke. You could not get a handle on her is she fierce or a wimp? Is she good at what she does or a hot mess? Is she warm and loving... No wait she scared and kinda cold hearted. Is she an high level personal planner/orgainzer or a pole dance who dreams of going the Bolshoy Ballet/flashdancer route.
Prince Tedric - Nothing redeemable there and I sort of don't know why he made an appearance outside of the first 5 pages of the book.
The girl with cancer - Whattttt? What purpose did she serve. To make a SEAL feel bad? WTH?
I have never hit "next page"so much on my Kindle in its life...
My rationale is that these books seemed to have been Shilouette romance books originally. You know Shilouette those flimsy book that one can probably read on one long inhale. Maybe that is why Prince Joe was so choppy. However, the series totally reverses itself with Forever Blue the next story in the series and all I can say is Wow! Blue McCoy, man of little words but plenty of action and just a great hero. Frisco's Kid just totally worked my heart strings over and over feeling for the hero of the story Alan Franciso an ex-SEAL who has a chip on his shoulder, his niece to look after suddenly, his very dedicated and cute neighbor and a thug. Just reading about him trying to accept his limitations was worth it. Finally Everyday Average Jones was my favorite story. Probably because I kept saying why can't more men be like Harlan "Cowboy" Jones.
So if you are looking for a great series of stand alone books that have been compiled into TDD1 and can make it past the Prince Joe blip. You will thoroughly enjoy the series and maybe by the end the Prince looks less like a frog.
Read this series when it was first published then when I received my first Kindle I purchased the series in ebooks. I can honestly say I have read them repeatedly. Worth the money.
