Let the End...Try the Man.

Battle lines have been drawn, and forces have been gathered. But are Cas, Evie and the rest of the crew of the USCS Tempest ready to engage the deadliest enemy they've ever had to face? The Athru came into Coalition space, wiped out humanity and disassembled the once-great galactic empire piece by piece. But why? What lies behind this obsessive need to destroy humanity?

While Evie fights to find out, Cas is done playing games. Now that he has the power of the Sil behind him, he's ready to take the fight to the enemy. But Commander Sesster is getting worse by the day, and if they don't do something soon, he won't survive. And as Evie takes it upon herself to obtain what could be a crucial piece of intel about the Athru, she discovers secrets she never could have imagined.

The crew has faced many obstacles together, but this will be their greatest challenge yet. Cas made a promise to protect all those under his command, and that's exactly what he's going to do, even if it ends up killing him.

Don't miss this gripping final chapter in the INFINITY'S END series! The epic saga comes to a thrilling conclusion in this adventurous space opera!

“Our history is not our Destiny.”
- Alan Cohen.
“A species who will go out into the universe full of arrogance and superiority will eventually lead to destruction.”
A fabulous and fascinating series!!
Is it unconscionable to respond and retaliate the same way as the enemy, with genocide? Wouldn’t that make us as evil as them? The moral and ethical debates are highlighted throughout this series, an inner conflict between right and wrong, justice and revenge/vengeance. The intensity of these novels ramps up almost immediately and barely leaves you time to catch your breath as the story hurtles forward. A twisted journey that forces the protagonists to reassess their own ideologies and their relationships with one another. They are forced to confront their fears, their failings and the rapidly growing consequences of their mental vulnerabilities, shame, guilt..Written with gemlike precision and marked by a sly sense of humor, this premise brings an end to a fantastic trip. The pacing is excellent, as are the action sequences. Eric Warren’s descriptive writing style paints a vivid canvas of colourful and creative images for the reader, with dramatic contrasts of light and shadows throughout the series. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions, a load of anxiety provoked by numerous twists at every page turn, it’s been a long time I have been through such myriads of feelings, loss, desolation, despair..and, as my dear friend Mandy accurately said: “He(author) built the roller coaster and pushed you off on the ride!”I’m going to miss this series, one which as Foundation of Asimov, is worth a re-read! Congratulations, Eric Warren!!

I wanted a finale that would blow my mind. Did I get that? You bet, I did. With bells on!

This was such an emotional book for me. Not only because it was the last in the series, but also because I didn't want it to end. Ever. These characters were my friends. I know them well. I have grown older alongside them, and I want the best for them. The amount of hankies I went through, I should have shares in Kleenex. The reader finds out the why's and wherefores of the Athru's hatred for humankind. The parts with Sesster just had my heart in my mouth.

It's a cracker of a book. Great series, excellent storyline, riveting characterisations, fantastic ending. Enjoy!

I chose this book from a selection, which I then voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. All opinions are my own.

I read Caspian's Fortune back in July 2019, I was on school holidays(teacher but behaves like a child!) and was enjoying writing, so I joined this website who gave you free books to write a honest review of it. I thought why not, I might find a decent read. The blurb of Mr Warren's book jumped out at me and a few days later I wrote an honest review stating how much I loved it - now nine books read and a world visited and left I am a lucky man to have found a series I loved and aa set of characters I connected with and an author who I'll keep going back for more from!
So Infinity's End, the ninth book in the Infinity's End series and, well I'm not going to ruin it for anyone by saying what happens!

But expect origins, resolutions, new foes, old foes, new friends, old friends, happy endings, deaths, battles, friendships, romances, moments you've waited for, moments you've dreaded and say one final goodbye to Cas, Evie, Box, Zenfor, Sesster, Jann, Ryant, Xax, Zaal, Tileah, Vrij, Samiya, Hank, River, Ronde and Tyler(sorry if I've forgotten anyone!).

It's a book of two halves really, the first setting up the tension and the final payoff in the second. It reintroduces trouble for our heroes and finishes setting up the universe they inhabit, the second is an all out action fest but as always with these books, focus on characters and their relationships with each other.

There is a conclusion to the story but also you can see where Mr Warren might want to take it in the future if he ever gets the fancy to - please do!

Eric Warren has a new series et in this universe called Stellar Outlaw, I suppose I better crack on with that now!

Received as an ARC, this is an honest review. This could be it for the crew of the Tempest, with their backs to the wall and the the Athru about to achieve their ultimate goal- what hope is left? When they encounter a ship from what had been the Coalition: Caspian is left speechless to find himself enduring shadows of the past, his career burned by the very man that claims to have the answer of how to destroy the Athru once and for good. Drawn into dangerous agendas and games that could claim the lives of the crew if they can't unwind the truth of the help their supposed ally has offered. Among all of that chaos, the mystery of how to save Sesster may finally have a clue: his home world- Claxia Prime and into a hornets nest of hell when Evie and Esterva are captured and taken aboard a massive Athru ship. Here Evie meets Dulthar- and finally learns exactly why the Athru have become so determined to annihilate the human race; the shocking revelation will only harden her resolve to end their existence. Even the alliance with the Sil may not be enough to defeat their dark enemy. With all other options exhausted, their final gambit is an desperate act that even if they succeed, will forever reverberate across the heart of the Coalition itself and beyond.

The epic end to the Infinity's End series delivers its most powerful drama, action, tears and laughter; a mind blowing adventure you'll want to read again and again. Highly recommended.

Infinity’s End opens with the Tempest and her crew deep in Sil Territory at their homeworld of Thislea. Cas, Evie, Zenfor and the rest of the crew are all trying to work with the Sil Sanctuary to convince them to join with ‘Tempest’ and fight the Athru, with the argument that eventually they will turn on the Sil to, and that Evie is an evolved Human, and that Human’s are worth saving, that they are capable of much more and not inferior as the Sil believe.
Together, along with some guidance from Evie’s biological Mother, Esterva, they have come up with a new weapon to use against the Athru, but before the Sil will commit to anything, they require intel on the Athru.
As they are considering all their plans, Cas receives dire news, Sester has less than a week to live, unless they can get him to Claxian Prime, and possibly other Claxian’s may be able to help him.
At the same time, Evie starts to doubt if their course of action, is the total annihilation of the Athru actually the right idea? What has made the Athru so intent on destroying humanity? And what are they doing at Earth?
It is whilst they are trying to both work out how to solve this issues, Cas to save Sester, and Evie, her own inner feelings, that someone from the distant past suddenly arrives, out of the blue, on board a converted Coalition starship, heavily modified with Sargan technology, as well as some other technology that will make getting into Athru territory a lot easier. This makes for a really interesting switch up in the story, as well as the storylines, and opens a whole new set of intrigue, as well as interpersonal plays between the Characters. It is these little things that really give us an insight into who the Characters really are, their motivations, relationships, allegiances, it is so well done.
I don’t want to give anything away, but this final book is just a stunning conclusion to what has been easily one of the best sci-fi series I have ever read (or listened to). The series has been such a powerfully gritty, Character driven storyline, following mainly Cas, but also Evie, and at times, Box and some other characters as well.
It has allowed us to see not just the stories of these Characters, and those that have interacted with them, but it has also given us quite a clear impression of both the Coalition, and the Sargan Commonwealth (before Athru intervention), how they operated, the political nature of these entities, as well as the raw underbelly of both, and how even though most assume the Sargan’s to be more disreputable, the Coalition has a lot of rot in it as well.
Cas and Evie’s stories also allows us to see other cultures as well, including the Sil, and the Bulaq, as well as some insight into the Athru themselves. It has been a fascinating adventure through so many extraordinary different major and minor characters, and in this finale, Warren does justice to it all, wrapping it up in a way that not only covers all the outstanding storylines, but provides a few surprises that will you stunned and in awe. Some parts will leave you with a grin, others, with a tear in your eye. Warren has made a real effort to bring closure to this wonderful series, but at the same time left it open enough that there is the possibility of further adventures in this universe.
Warren’s Character writing has just been exceptional throughout this series, as he has captured each and everyone of his Characters with such extraordinary skill, creating this individual masterpieces that are incredibly powerful and gritty, with so much emotional depth. Cas’s constant struggle with his role on board the ship from the first day, through to the final book (no spoilers!!), is just so real, you can really understand the issues that he is dealing with on a daily basis. Especially his angst with Box, which is just hilarious at times, and at other times, you are just cringing along with Cas.
Evie’s evolution from the first book to this one has been an emotional rollercoaster, with a deep look into the psychological makeup of who Evie is, and it led to a very interesting outcomes on multiple levels. Evie is such a multi-faceted character, with her Athru mind and her Human consciousness.
Evie’s character is easily one of the most intriguing in this series.
There are so many other wonderful characters in this series and this books as well (Laura, Page, Veena, Xal, Zenfor, Sester, I could sit here all day listing them, each of them was just exceptionally well written, with their own unique personality, giving the story their own perspective, and altering it, in their own way, even the minor characters.
The other extraordinary aspect of this book (and series), has been the World (Galaxy) building, which has not only been multi-faceted, creative, and impressively detailed, but the quality of the depth to which Warren goes is just inspired.
There is such incredible descriptions of every aspect of the lives they lead, and the world’s the live in and visit, each of the Alien species, and the clothes they wear. This extends to the technology they use, the ships, and weapons, the various components, the technology on the starships, including things like the drives the Sil use, and the weapons that are mounted on each of the ships. These things are described in such stunning and intricate detail.
Warren’s ability to create, and describe within his world are just masterful, and make it truly epic.
Overall, this is everything the finale book in a series should be, continuing to build the incredible Characters that we have come to know and love throughout the series, but at the same time, giving us a bit of closure on them to. The great thing is, Warren has done what all good Authors do, and has given us the closure we need for this particular series, but sets the characters (those that make it to the end), up for another adventure down the track (We can only hope!!)
This is a story you won’t be able to put down (I was seriously up until 4am in the morning finishing it), as you just have to know what happens. If you have read any of this series, you are going to want to read this book – amazing conclusion to what is an Epic Series!!

What needs to be said

It's extremely rare that I feel moved to write a review on a book that I've read. Rarer still when struck with a feeling of necessity in doing so for a series of books.

To say I've enjoyed reading these books would be gross injustice to Mr. Warren.

Totally engrossing tale. From the first book to the last. The best entertainment I've had in a long time.

Thank you Mr. Warren.

Good ending to a great series.

I really enjoyed it he final installment of the series. I did feel it was rushed in a few places, but was overall a great read.

The series as a whole was great and I enjoyed all the characters, especially Box, thoroughly.

This was an amazing last book of great series!
The ending was very emotional and every time I was done wiping my eyes and blowing my nose, there was another thing that had me crying.
I've grown to love these characters throughout this series and saying goodbye to them got me emotional too.

I look forward to read a story about Cas, Evie, Green and Box in the spinoff series Infinity's Legacy. And I hope to see some of the characters again in the sequel set in this world, Stellar Outlaw. Or that I'll at least find out what happens to the new Coalition after the war with the Athru.

Very Good SciFi

I started reading Sci-fi at a early age Tom Swift . I read just about anything and everything and enjoy all well written stories. But Sci-fi is still my favorite. I must admit this series I read hoping that there would not be a stopping point. You hate to have a great story line come to and end. I can only recommend this series with a AAA+ Read and enjoy.

good space opera

Loved the characters, the story, the action and of course all the twists and turn along the way. The world building was good but the science was a little iffy. 4 stars for that, but 5 for a entertaining read.

A good story

A well written story. Well within the realm of believable Sci-fi. An easy read but as with all series a little redundant. Overall an enjoyable read
