The Developer and The Diva

Rate this book
Para siempre means forever. That’s what they’d promised one another. Then she left.

Now she’s back, and para siempre is just two words written on the wall of the community center he’s determined to tear down … and she wants to save.

Eduardo Forenza’s property development project hits a snag when a protest committee recruits a celebrity to head up their cause. But the Argentinian developer grew up on the rough streets of La Boca—he’s not going to be intimidated by some big shot who’s never felt the cold bite of hunger. When the star who stands in his way turns out to be the same woman who ripped out his heart and used it to fuel her rise to fame, he’s determined to purge her from his system once and for all. If only he didn’t have to keep rescuing her first.

Anna Marquez is known to the world as the singing sensation Angel. Launched into stardom by an avaricious mother, Anna had to leave everything behind, including the man she’s never stopped loving. Now she’s back in Buenos Aires to bury her beloved grandmother and solve an intimate dilemma. But when her personal problem is overshadowed by attempts on her life, Anna flees to the one place she feels Eduardo’s arms.

Will the pain of the past be too much to overcome, or will they gamble again on a love to last para siempre?

It's rare these days for me to be able to lose myself in a book, but Ms. Adams' tale, The Developer and the Diva, was a pleasant exception. I was enthralled by this tender love story from the outset. Eduardo and Anna grew up poor in Buenos Aires and all they had was each other. But Anna's gift of her voice separated them when they were still in their teens as she became an international superstar. Ten years later when their worlds collided again, neither can deny the attraction, but Eduardo is a superstar in his own field and can't see himself trailing after Anna as she tours the world to promote her new album. This novel pulsated with a Latin beat from the first page, and made my escape from reality quite a pleasure as I witnessed the pain and growth of both Eduardo and Anna.

Forever💕

I lived this story, with the characters based out of Argentina! A marvellous singer currently based out of California, Anna is back in Argentina to support keeping the community centre she remembers! And immediately, she's face to face with her first love. Twists and turns later, with bombs and a kidnapping as well, and I wasn't very sure this could end well... But, I kept turning pages, impatient to know how their story would end! Phew! A wonderful happy ever after ending, a win-win for both Anna & Eduardo. Highly recommended!!

Eduardo and Anna had a passionate, yet chaste, love affair in their youth, cut short by two events: Eduardo’s soccer injury and Anna’s singing career. When they meet ten years later they find themselves on opposite sides of a local issue in their hometown of Buenos Aires. Anna is a famous singer, Eduardo is a wealthy developer, and all too soon they discover that one of them is the target of a vicious killer.

Alexia Adams is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is crisp, emotional, sexy, and smart. Her plot elements weave together like a cozy blanket, keeping you warm and comfortable as you share each character’s emotional highs and lows. Her books take place in exotic settings, places we don’t all get to visit. This is a steamy second-chance romance. I highly recommend it.

This is the fourth book in Alexis Adams’ Vintage Love series which features the story of Anna, a gifted international singer who left as a teen for fame, and Eduardo, a lose friend of Anna as a child until separated, who is a well known developer negotiating to tear down the town’s community center. They meet years later in this second chance romance. I recommend this well written book as it provides an engaging plot with drama, intriguing twists, steamy attraction, and a journey to find love again by two lost souls.

This is the 2nd book I've read written by Alexia Adams; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

I don’t remember what intrigued me in the blurb that made me want to read this book as it is not one of my usual genres. Boy am I glad that I did. Alexia Adams has taken a fairly typical story line and written a really good book. There is quite a bit of back history between the two main characters that comes out as the book goes on and I really felt the love between them and the angst they felt both in the past and now was realistic and heartfelt. As this is a later book in a series there are secondary characters whose appearance in this book made me what to read their stories.

I thoroughly enjoyed this "Vintage Love" story! It's a good romance and great second chance. Eduardo and Anna grew up together in Argentina. They promised each other forever until her mom launched Anna's music career. Now years later he is headed to meeting to convince them the community center needs to be torn down. A celebrity has been hired to persuade them otherwise. There he sees her! The chemistry is undeniable. I really like the characters. The story is nicely developed with some wonderful twists and turns.

Alexia Adams has created a plot so intriguing, so intense, so entrancing it will literally keep you glued to your chair turning pages until you come to the end of this book and then leave you wanting more. A second-chance romance with drama, suspense, turmoil, danger, steam and romance and great character development... I fell in love with the characters from the opening pages. Their chemistry & connection just flew off the pages.

The Developer and The Diva is the fourth book in the Vintage Love series.

This sweet second chance romance has charming characters that belong together but were torn apart by success. The storyline is well written and engaging, with heartbreak, drama, suspense, danger, and a second chance for love.

I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
