Once a proud angel of Heaven, Nevar is now a servant of Hell, bound to a new master—the King of Demons. Lost in the mortal realm without any recollection of how she came to be there, Lysia is only aware that she has survived a great battle. When she stumbles into a demon bar, she finds more than a chance to discover what happened to her—she finds a dark and deadly angel warrior who stirs fire in her veins and awakens soul-searing passion she cannot deny.
With the mounting threat of the Great Destroyer, the forces of Heaven and Hell against him, and a band of dangerous angels intent on capturing Lysia on his heels, can Nevar protect the beautiful woman who is light to his darkness and find the strength to save the world?

The paranormal genre has to be my favourite of all that I read and Demons & Angels hold a place in my heart..... probably why the HER ANGEL series by Felicity Heaton is such a winner for me!!
We met Nevar previously in the series when he was Erin's guardian angel. Following an altercation in hell with Asmodeus, he was bound in a contract to the King of Demons after which he fell from grace and became lost & kinda evil, though lets face it, a lot of that was his own doing as he embraced the darkness that was taking him over and through this he became fairly self-destructive ....
I have to admit that I wasn't the biggest fan of Nevar in either 'Her Demonic Angel' - due to the fact that for most of the time he was an annoying goody-two-shoes angel - or in 'Her Wicked Angel' - as he was a total git, so twisted and set upon revenge that he would stop at nothing to get to his 'Master' regardless of what he had to do or who he had to hurt in the process....
Which lead us to where we meet him in Her Avenging Angel. Having stirred the Great Destroyer, Nevar now needs to guard the chamber under which it rests, keeping watch to see if the beast wakes - not forgetting that this awakening would signal the apocalypse and the beginning of the end for all 3 realms - which he does, of a fashion, until he gets bored and hits the mortal realm for sustenance and escape (with the added bonus of really hacking off Asmodeus into the bargain!!). While he's out of hell he meets Lysia in a demon bar - and wow, what a meeting that is!!
Those who have read Felicity's books before know that she has a way of making you fall for the bad boys - especially the busted and broken ones and boy does she succeed with Never.
Within about 4 pages of starting HAA I found myself liking the fallen angel and hoping that things worked out for him.. Didn't count on that happening - at least not so quickly!
Throughout the book we see Nevar battle his demons while trying to regain some of the angel/man he was. Lysia is adorable, in a badass, oh hell kinda way.. She has no recollection of where she has come from or who she is but she is drawn to Nevar and trusts that he will help her. There is a spark between these 2 from the outset and I loved how their story and relationship developed. It didn't come as a great surprise to find out what role Lysia played in the story but that, for me, didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book in any way.
We meet up again with the rest of the gang as they try to decide what to do about Lysia and how best they can (or even if they should) help her. Once again they do battle with good & evil and show us just what a formidable force they are. The Devil himself makes an appearance (I really do like him - even if I shouldn't - I especially enjoy his verbal sparring with Veiron!) and there's a new demonic body that I was delighted to be introduced to!!! We are also introduced to some new angels who are very interesting and have me torn as to how I feel about them - least said about them the better - you'll get to make up your mind about them soon enough.
Her Avenging Angel is my 2nd favourite book in the series - Her Demonic Angel is in top spot as Veiron and Erin are always gonna be my #1 couple.
With great writing, some gut wrenching & emotional events, a healthy dose of red hot sex, more trouble-making and meddling from both heaven and hell, some laugh out loud interactions and as ever, a terrific cast of characters, Her Avenging Angel is a fantastic action packed adventure that culminates in a heart stopping battle and is a great way to round off the series. A solid 5* read and a book that I will definitely go back to again in the future!!!
If you haven't yet read the other books in the Her Angel series I would say that you should do so before you read Her Avenging Angel to allow you to fully understand and enjoy the story.
You don’t get much darker than the apocalypse, and HER AVENGING ANGEL nailed the end-of-the-world vibe by going all out with epic battles between Heaven & Hell, the convergence of the thirteen, and of course the Great Destroyer story line. However, this is Felicity Heaton a.k.a. the queen of Paranormal Romance which means that in spite of all of the doom and gloom, there’s still plenty of steam, and a HEA that’ll rock your world. I strongly recommend that you read all of the previous novels before adding this one to your to-be-read pile because it’s all protagonists on deck in this installment due to the climactic nature of the plot arc, plus you’ll want one-on-one time with all of this series’ heroes, trust me!
It’s no secret that angels are my least favourite supernatural on account of their tendency to spout Bible verses, and to assume the role of goodie-two-shoes, but Nevar is as far from the stereotypical holier-than-thou as you can get. He’s a fallen bad boy, with a chip on his shoulder, and nothing left to lose—that is, until he meets Lysia. I enjoyed watching his transformation from dark and brooding to the world’s best chance of survival; as a recovering Euphoria addict, and contracted to the King of Demons, Nevar had more than his fair share of challenges to overcome. Calling him a reluctant hero would be putting it mildly, but true love has a way of changing a person, or in this case, a demonic angel—mind blowing sex, and twelve unlikely allies certainly help too!
Lysia was the perfect example of how appearances can be deceiving; I’d expected her to surpass Nevar in all things evil, but instead she was the embodiment of everything that’s good in the HER ANGEL universe. Readers were first introduced to her character when she strolls into a bar buck naked, and kicks a vampire’s ass. Needless to say, I liked her immediately! Her abilities were mind boggling, yet she had a vulnerability to her that was magnetic to the fallen angel’s alpha protective nature. Heaton made sure that we got our nookie fix before the action started with scene-after-scene of beach sex; there was however one downside to this book’s romantic elements, and that was the v-card, but that’s a personal pet peeve of mine, and the author didn’t dwell on it, so don’t let it deter you.
I enjoyed the twist that the angels of the apocalypse brought to the plot line, and watching all of this series’ previous characters come together to back Nevar & Lysia was exciting. I especially liked when Asmodeus proved his servant wrong, and Erin’s snarky way of kicking butt and taking names always manages to leave me grinning from ear-to-ear. I loved how vividly the author described the final battle between Heaven, Hell, and the Great Destroyer; that scene leapt off of the pages, and exceeded my expectations in every way. Heaton left readers in suspense until the final chapter for the protagonists’ HEA, however it was heart-meltingly sweet, and so worth the wait! I’m not sure who’ll star in the next book, but the original fallen are loose in the mortal realm which means that the thirteen, now fourteen’s job is far from over.
I always thought that the world would end in fire, but according to HER AVENGING ANGEL it concludes with bow chicka wow wow!
The guarding of the Great Destroyer is extremely important. Protecting the world from total destruction currently rests on Nevar’s shoulders. Nevar is not only bored with his duty he is also in bad need of a break. He is hungry and restless and doesn’t see an end to any of this in sight. Sneaking away from his duty just for a small amount of time seems like a pretty good idea to him, until his master seeks him out to tell him that there is plenty to go do now that the Great Destroyer has left its chamber.
From the moment of that conversation the action never stops. Nevar is trying to find the Great Destroyer. Asmodeus is assisting Nevar with this task to appease his own master. The introduction to the angels of the apocalypse reeks of disaster. From the very beginning any reader can see the trouble that will come from this group. The Great Destroyer and how it will affect the group of angels and their loves also brings much excitement to the pages of this fast paced sexy read.
As always I was pleased to see that the main characters from the previous books in the series had roles. Felicity gives her characters who have already reached their happily ever after fairly large roles in the various books of her Her Angel series. I love being allowed to see how they are faring in life since finding happiness with their perfect person.
My only disappointment was that I figured out what Lysia was early on in the story. She’s a great addition to this world. She is exactly what Nevar needs in his life. The connection that she has to Nevar is perfect.
At this point in the Her Angel series I highly recommend reading at least a few of the previous books if not starting at the beginning. Nevar is introduced several books back. It is interesting to read how he goes from angel to the bottom of despair to where readers find him at the beginning of Her Avenging Angel.
I have such a soft spot for heroes who are all messed up. Nevar certainly fits that bill. He's not comfortable in his own skin since he's become a servant of Hell and he pushes back at all the wrong times against the chains that bind him.
Which causes all sorts of problems, as I'm sure you've guessed.
Honestly, after what he did to Liora in book 6, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to like the guy. I did, though. Nevar has issues, but he still has a core of goodness at his heart. Besides which, his situation just sucks.
Lysia's situation is no less painful. Alone and lonely, she sees something in Nevar that calls to her and makes the loneliness a little more bearable. I genuinely liked how she stood up beside him when he needed it.
With appearances by characters from previous books, we get a whole lot of action, wide scale destruction, and some sweet, sweet lovin' during the downtime. While this book ties up the ongoing arc, there looks to be plenty more to discover in this world. Unless I'm misunderstanding, we're getting a spin-off series next. Same world, new apocalyptic angels.
I love when a good apocalypse is pending, don't you?
Here's to plenty more angel sexy times in the future!
Nevar is a bad boy! No ifs, no buts and most definately no maybes! He may have started out as an Angel and Guardian to Erin whose father is the Devil no less but as this series has progressed the readers have seen him descend into his own personal Hell and now he is more than ready to claw his way back. Hating that he serves the King of Demons and yet now bound to the Great Destroyer Nevar is determined to finally be done with Hell and all that it entails but in order to rise above he must first slay his own personal demons and that is no easy task. Nevar is ruled by hatred and a thirst for revenge. Having bound himself to the still sleeping Great Destroyer it's his job to guard it and make sure the apocalypse does not begin just yet but Nevar is not one to follow the rules and leaves the Hell dimension in search of sustenance . Unfortunately trouble and Nevar are never far apart it's no coincidence that a gorgeous naked ( yes I said naked) female walks into the bar. This strange but lovely woman is powerful and right from the start proves that she is no pushover but the only person who understands her language is Nevar and he has no idea just why that is! Her name is Lysia but her memory is fragmented but of one thing she is certain the Angels are most decidedly not her friends! The attraction between Lysia and Nevar is combustible but the intense and magnetic pull they share is puzzling. Can Nevar help solve the riddle that Lysia poses or is it all too late as the Great Destroyer has risen and it looks as if Armageddon is about to be released here on Earth! Fans of this series will be overjoyed to read about naughty Nevar as he has gone through so many changes to reach this point in his life. What's even more delightful is catching up with the heroes and heroines from the previous books as everything comes home to roost in this story. Thirteen individuals will work as one and no guessing just who the lucky number thirteen is, yes you guessed it Nevar! Expect passion and snarky comments as the author keeps her readers riveted to the page . Did I guess a little of the plot? Well maybe I had ideas about Lysia but everything that came along with her was completely unexpected and I'm amazed at the authors incredible imagination. This is a fabulous addition to this truly delightful series and not to be missed.
I get excited when felicity releases a new book as I know she's going to pull me into her wonderful fantasy world were I can escape reality.
This book is fabulous, you get the whole angel/demon clan together fighting to keep the realms of heaven, Hell and Earth safe.
Nevar is guarding the dark destroyer, if awoke it will end the world, His hungry though so disappearing for 30 minutes can't hurt....
Yes, Nevar has messed up and lots of people are not happy, especially Asmodeus his master! The world is in danger but Nevar is more concerned about a female he found that needs his help.
Lysia is a great addition to the clan and fits in well with Nevar. Things can't run smoothly so expect action, twists and fabulous surprises.
You can feel the passion between these lovers, they have a strong connection that when they finally come together they sizzle.
This series is best read in order to get the most from it, you could pick up this book though if you've read couple of the books including Asmodeus's story.
I love all the characther's, I really love Erin though, she's so cool, dangerous but compassionate with it.
Looking for a series to pull you in, look no further you've found it.

REVIEW: 4.5 stars--HER AVENGING ANGEL is the seventh installment in Felicity Heaton’s adult, paranormal/fantasy Her Angel romance series focusing on the angels, fallen angels and demons from Heaven and Hell. This is former angel, and servant of Hell Nevar and Lysia’s storyline. Told from third person point of view, Her Avenging Angel can be read as a stand alone but for cohesion and detail it would be best to read the series in order. Felicity Heaton does an amazing job revealing background detail and information about the series and our hero throughout Her Avenging Angel.
The focus of the story is on former angel Nevar who has been assigned as the guardian and Master of the Great Destroyer. When Nevar escapes to the human realm in search of food, he will meet a demon-a woman known only as Lysia-who calls to his soul. She is lost, without memory of who she is or from where she came. When Nevar is pulled back into Hell by his demon master Asmodeus he will discover the Great Destroyer has risen. Along with Asmodeus, and Alysia, Nevar goes in search of the beast thought to bring about the next apocalypse.
There is an immediate attraction between Lysia and Nevar, one brought about but a common language and need for blood. Nevar is protective of Lysia and guards her with his life, not quite understanding the pull towards the small but powerful female demon. It is only when four of Heaven’s most powerful angels demand Lysia’s imprisonment does Nevar realize whom it is that calls to his heart.
The world building continues as the search for the Great Destroyer continues throughout the series as well as the battles between Heaven and Hell; demons and angels. There is a reason that Hell is so filled with fallen Angels as the disposition and temperaments between good and evil are not dissimilar. The secondary characters include many of the previous storyline couples who come to Nevar’s aid. Nevar believed that when the dark side claimed his soul, he lost the love and friendship of all of his former friends and angels. With the inclusion of the previous storyline characters there is familiarity, cohesion and comaraderie to the flow of the story.
HER ANGEL series by Felicity Heaton takes an intimate look at Heaven and Hell; where angels fall in love with demons; where demons are tamed by emotions and love. Each of the storylines focuses on the impending war between good and evil, searching for a way to prevent the end -an apocalypse of epic proportion. There is action, suspense, mystery, romance and love. Each couple is matched together; their powers compliment one another; and in the end, love does conquer all.
Felicity Heaton blends mythology with Heaven’s fallen angels and Hell’s demonic possessions. But when the dark finds the light; when soul mates collide there is little to stop the impending crush of emotions and love. HER ANGEL series is passionate, breathtaking, imaginative and compelling. Everyone has a dark side-some more dark than others.
This is the seventh book in Her Angel Romance series. I loved it!
Nevar is a wonderful character. I really didn't know him very well when he was first introduced in Her Demonic Angel as Erin's Guardian Angel, but I am now glad for the opportunity to get to know him better. Now more demon than angel and under servitude of The King of Demons, Asmodeus, Nevar is struggling to come to terms with his actions of awakening the Great Destroyer, as well as his addiction to Euphoria, a mixture of demon blood, demon poison and alcohol. When a mysterious woman walks into his life, Nevar finds he will move Heaven and Hell to keep her safe.
I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book. This is the first series I started to read from this author, and the angels and demons in these stories have become my friends as the series has progressed. This book quickly captured my attention from the first page; I read this book in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down. Nevar felt a bit self-pitying to me in the beginning, and I wanted to shake him to get his head out of his you-know-what. I can understand him being angry at Asmodeus though, so I can totally see why he would want revenge. But revenge is best served cold, and Nevar is too hot headed and impulsive to truly think things through properly. Thus, his impetuous attack on Asmodeus at the end of Her Wicked Angel, which now sees him being made the master of the Great Destroyer.
This story is full of emotional ups and downs, as well as several twists and turns. The scenes and characters are well described and I felt like I was in the midst of the action and part of the group. I loved meeting Lysia. She is a character I felt great empathy for. She has not had an easy life. However, I was left wondering why someone would create a being that would destroy all three realms (Heaven, Earth and Hell)? If all life in these realms were destroyed, what would the Great Destroyer do or go next? Would she cease to exist too? Anyway, that's a discussion for another day - back to the book! There is a wonderfully described battle scene, which was epic in scale! I also loved the prison escape scene in Heaven; Asmodeus's first visit there was quite amusing too. The attraction between Nevar and Lysia is magnetic and hot. Their passion fairly set the pages on fire! I also loved meeting Erin and Veiron's young son, Dante, who has everyone wrapped around his little fingers; even his Grandfather - the Devil. I wonder if his story will be told one day?
This book is actually the end of the series, but there were some new characters that were introduced that will be starring in a new series, which I am now looking forward to reading.
Felicity Heaton is number one on my Favourite Authors List. I love her fast paced writing style - it is extremely fluid and flows beautifully! I am in awe of her talent to weave stories with characters that come alive on the page. I felt like I could bump into them whilst doing my shopping!
Due to the explicit scenes in the story, I do not recommend this book to younger readers under 17. However, I highly recommend this book (and series) if you love erotic paranormal romance or stories with sexy angels and/or demons! This story could be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend that you read the other 6 books too, to get a fuller understanding of the complex relationships between the characters! - Lynn Worton
Felicity is a genius of the paranormal writing, what is mind boggling is how she can come up with a make believe story yet still draw you, the reader, to it. These whole series have been phenomenal. The character in this latest story is called Nevar, who is a fallen angel and the servant of his master Asmodeus, he believes he is full of dark badness, never to be good again, full of hate, wishing his master was dead, there is never a good thought entering his mind while being left in hell all alone, unable to leave. Nevar needs to feed, his only option is to leave hell and go against his masters orders. This is where he meets Lysia, she is a complete stranger to everyone around, she seems lost and alone, and very much in need of help, Nevar feels compelled to help her out, a strange feeling coming over him, Lysia is just as drawn to him, needing his help badly as no one understands her, then Asdomeus shows up ruining the moment, dragging Nevar back to hell. They end up having to work together as 'The 'Great Destroyer' has been awoken, Nevar and Asmodeus need to find the beast before it destroys all three realms, heaven, hell and earth, their mission is the toughest one yet, while searching they meet Lysia again, unable to leave her in her present situation Nevar takes her with him wanting to protect her. Asdomeus takes them to Taylor's house to see if they can help out with Lysia, they must continue their search for The Great Destroyer, events take place which lead them all to Asdomeus friends, Nevar knows all these people but he does not like to be around them as he has done such wicked things in the past, he can't even bring himself to look at Erin, that is the devil's daughter (really?, yes the devils daughter), I could tell you so much about these characters as I have followed each of their journeys but in short we have, Serenity and Apollyon from Her Dark Angel, Annelie and Lukas from Her Fallen Angel, Taylor and Einar from Her Warrior Angel, Amelia and Marcus from Her Guardian Angel, Erin and Vieron from Her Demonic Angel, Loira and Asdomeus from Her Wicked Angel, all living in one island as a family, protecting each other, Lysia wants this life, she never wants to be alone again. If you have ever read this Author work you will know nothing is ever easy, if not, let me tell you that there are many battles, not only fighting against hell but heaven and anyone else who gets in the way, they are only pawns in a long game between heaven and hell. Nevar would rather die than let anything happen to Lysia, their bond has become that strong, he believes nothing will stand in his way of protecting her and them staying together, but four angels actually created and set by heaven try to take Lysia from him, his fight has now began, it is the mother of all fights as you continue to read about all the bloodshed, so many deaths, creatures from hell being killed by the hundreds, heavens angels being sent to their death. Nevar and now his close friends fight together to defeat them all to save Lysia, this is the one woman he can no longer exist without. I am positive that this is not the last of Her Angel Series, so I look forward to reading the next chapter. If you love paranormal romance then I urge you to read Her Angel Series starting with Her Dark Angel which I know is FREE to download. Thank you Felicity Heaton for another amazing read.
It's felt like a long wait for this latest instalment of Felicity Heaton's Her Angel series but Nevar's story was brilliant and I loved Her Avenging Angel. This is a fantastic series but it really is one that is better read in order so this review may contain spoilers for previous books and if you're new to the series I would recommend starting with Her Dark Angel (my review can be found here).
Felicity Heaton is great at creating bad boys and just as good at giving them the chance to redeem themselves when it's their turn to shine which is exactly what she did with Nevar. We all know what he did to Asmodeus and Liora in the previous book but I found it hard to blame him too much considering everything Asmodeus had put him through and the couple have forgiven him and tried to build bridges. Nevar's problem is that he can't forgive himself, he hates the darkness inside him and he doesn't feel worth of anyone else's love and friendship so he's never really believed that the others really do care about him and want to see him happy. It's painful to see Nevar so distant from the people who could be his friends, he always feels like he's on the outside looking in and although he cares about the others he is scared to show it in case they reject him. His shame over his past actions makes it very hard for him to find happiness and he's just going through the motions and not making the most of life.
When Nevar accidentally releases the Great Destroyer, a powerful being capable of bringing about the apocalypse, he has no choice but to accept help from Asmodeus and the others to stop the end of the world. He is distracted from his task by Lysia, a demon with no memory of where she came from and no idea who she really is. Lysia brings out all of Nevar's protective instincts but he still doesn't feel worthy of her no matter how much he craves her. Lysia may not have her memories but she knows what she wants and she isn't going to let Nevar walk away from her without a fight, especially not when he's about to face a viscous enemy that both heaven and hell have failed to destroy.
As much as I enjoyed the romance between Nevar and Lysia I think what I loved most about this book was the interactions between the rest of the characters we've met throughout the series. I think nearly all of them made an appearance here and I particularly loved the scenes with Erin, Veiron and Dante! There is a huge amount going on in the wider world here and although a lot of things are resolved by the end of the book there is definitely a new story arc set in place that should make the next few books extremely interesting. This is a series I've been following for several years now and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Nevar & Lysia's Story book 7 in the “Her Angel Series”
Well what can I say, this was Another Amazing book in the "Her Angels Series " I don't know how Felicity's mind works to come up with these excellent books and with so much detail to boot but I'm bloody glad she does
I love a Hero and it appears there’s never a shortage of them in Felicity’s books and all are rather damn Sexy too, Nevar has been through the mill to put it mildly, his Master Amosdeous (from previous book) really did a number on him and has left Nevar a despondent broken man with many issues like his thirst for blood which is driving him insane he’s almost like a recovering Alcoholic but beyond all that he has a heart of gold and I found lots of goodness in him which drew me to love him even more
Lysia has also had a fair share of problems she’s a lonely scared woman but underneath all that she a very courageous Brave soul. Awoken in an unknown place and scared she is drawn to a club where she sees lots of other people visiting and makes her way in the club completely Naked, which is how she found herself when she Awoke we also we find out that she doesn’t speak a word of English or understand it either so the first chapter in this book was really rather interesting to say the least.
We also caught up again with characters from all the previous books which was really exciting and had me riveted to this book, it was so good to hear all about what was happening with all the other characters, and the Hellhounds made a visit too I love those guys, and there was some Super News about Asmodeus & Liora too! I have to say the fight scenes are Amazing (really makes you feel like you actually there in the middle of it all) and I love that!
Ooh and Nevar & Lysi’s First Kiss was Explosive and lead to… WOW!!!!Very HOT Sizzling scenes!! No I cannot spoil it for you readers you really must check this book out!
What also draws me into this Authors book is that she gives so much detailing about the characters features, what they are wearing and their surroundings which you can actually visualise in your mind it really captivates me every time.
Anyway for those of you who have not read any in the Super Series should go now and grab book 1 Her Dark Angel and start reading, you truly are missing out if you don't start reading this series.
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review
I've read all the Her Angel Series by Felicity Heaton and was eagerly awaiting the next installment. This book did not disappoint.
There is enough information in this book that it could be read as a standalone but I strongly advise reading at least from Her Guardian Angel onwards as you learn so much more of the back story that lead to the events in this book.
We start with Nevar, who is wallowing a little in his situation which has been brought about by himself and others actions in the previous books in the series. He comes across Lysia, who is alone with no memories of how she got there, and feels compelled to help her. Their attraction is immediate and mutual. Lysia is unusual and different and while discovering her origins they are pulled into events of apocalyptic proportions.
Nevar is a complicated hero because of his history and I was excited to read whether he could redeem himself. He was in a bad place and hadn't always made the best choices. I loved how he grew throughout the book and began to accept reponsibility for his mistakes and put them behind him and move on with strong resolve. He definitely stepped up to the plate and became the hero I always suspected he could be. Ms Heaton has a real knack for redeeming the seemingly un-redeemable.
I adored Lysia. She was strong and definitely kick-ass but likeable and good. She was the perfect heroine for nevar.
Another thing I loved about this was, although usually Felicity Heaton sticks to just the hero and heroine PoV's, we have a couple of chapters in this story from some previous leading characters in the series PoV. It was great to be inside their heads again and it added a facet of extra depth to the story.
As always Felicity Heaton's writing is excellent. The story flowed along nicely with lots of action, suspense, romance and high emotion. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and finished it in one sitting. I highly recommend this great addition to a really awesome series.
I give this an easy 5 stars.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are my own.
HER AVENGING ANGEL is latest installment in Felicity Heaton’s epic saga of Heaven, Hell, the mortals who love them, and the apocalypse known as the Her Angel series. Each book follows a separate couple (in true PNR style) so you could read them as a stand-alone. But to get the most enjoyment out of the overreaching series arc, I would definitely recommend reading the series as a whole. And I have to admit, that I wish I had followed my own advice here…I read the previous book, HER WICKED ANGEL, fell in love with the series and swore that I would play catch up. I’m still waiting for that to happen, but jumped at the chance to read HER AVENGING ANGEL. You won’t be completely lost if you do it that way, Heaton does a great job at dropping in enough references to the overall picture that you can follow along.
I know that I will go back to the earlier books because I am hooked on Heaton’s Angels, Hell’s Angels, and Demons. Sometimes books featuring angels can get a little preachy but that’s not the case in the world that Heaton has created. Sure some of the angels are rather sanctimonious…but they tend to be antagonists, so you don’t feel bad about not liking them. The Angels and Hell’s Angels that make up the main characters are a wonderful mix of light and dark and pull you into their stories.
Nevar is one of the fallen Hell’s Angels and the poor guy has been through a lot. He yearns to rid himself of the evil that taints him and constantly fights his own urgings. So much so that I want to say to him “Dude, embrace the darkness! Heaven ain’t all it’s cracked up to be here”. And in the end, Nevar proves that he’ll do whatever it takes to keep Lysia safe and by his side.
As for Lysia? On one hand, she’s vulnerable and unsure of herself in the time and place she’s found herself in. On the other hand, the girl kicks some major ass! You don’t want to get on her bad side!
HER AVENGING ANGEL is a must read for those who love angels…or demons…or PNR…or just a great book with some pretty hot nookie…or…you get the picture. Hurry and grab your copy today!
Ms. Heaton never fails to deliver. This latest installment book 7 of the Her Angel Series, just shows her never ending talent. Ms Heaton's ability to wrap you around her characters and pull you into the story keeping you there until the very end.
This isnt a short story, it has some length to it. You wont read it in a night, well I wasnt able to read it that fast. (smiles) This is book 7 so its part of a series, its not a stand alone and yes you would get more in reading the ones before. The whole series is amazing!
Everyone is doing an apolcalypse, Ms Heaton just stirs the pot with her brand of talent. I usually try to stay away from the whole angel themed stories. Heavenly bodies doing the bump and grinds .. yeah well.. But I love this author so.
Nevar our resident fallen bad boy, smexy in wings. He even may think he is content being a servant of hell. Well yeah so he thinks. Tsk Tsk. So in comes Lysia... she was born with a halo right?? (grins) she oozes all that is good, and sees past what others sees. Lysia sees deeper underneath the surface. When a certain bad boy tries hard to keep his bad ass image. Passion and fate oh so fickle as a way of changing the game plan. (There can never be too much sex.. rawr..and mmm hella hot. There was a few times a cold shower would have been in order. Not only did I so enjoy the main characters, the secondary ones rocked as well, but we know this. I love the fact that, Ms Heaton brings her characters back from the other stories. Oh and what would a heaven and hell story be with out some fighting! Hey its the apocalypse after all. Hmmm a final battle? A Happy Ending..??Also think about Asmodeus and his part he played here. Gotta love the twistys and the plots. (gives Ms Heatons some huggies!)
Again I loved this series my fav book though.. is Veiron's story.. If you haven't read this series do so it will have you coming back for more. Enjoy!
Consumed by darkness and driven to seek revenge, Nevar sets in motion a series of events that awakens the Great Destroyer and he must protect the beautiful woman who is light to his darkness and find the strength to save the world is this thrilling paranormal romance.
A fast pace and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge of their seat with plenty of suspense, action and romance. The never ending excitement and anticipation builds throughout the story and ensures that the reader has to read every last page and the well written scenes and details capture the imagination and inspire vivid imagery. The strong compelling characters invite the reader to join in their battle with Heaven and Hell and the well orchestrated action and suspense is believable and makes the reader feel as if they are part of all the thrilling excitement as it takes place.
Nevar and Lysia both have vibrant personalities that really reach out to the reader and their attraction to each other burns hot throughout their story. The reader can’t help but get caught up in their romance and they struggle against all odds to have their happily ever after, both sides want to control or detroy Lysia and despite the darkness that Nevar feels consumes him all he wants to do is protect her, love her and keep her from ever feeling the despair she felt before being awakened.
As the danger and the battle escalates, we learn more about the ongoing war and the events to lead to the present and the whole misfit crew comes together to help Nevar and Lysia in this battle against some new and very powerful enemies that promise further destruction and mayhem in future books and I for one can’t wait to see where the war goes next. Be prepared for lots of death and destruction but also passion and romance, friendship and family and surprises that will keep you on your toes. - Eva
I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.
Nevar has been through hell, quite literally. He has spent what seems like an endless amount of time trying to find ways in which to defeat his master, Asmodeus. He made a mistake though when he tried to exploit Liora as Asmodeus' weakness and ended up nearly killing her. This in turn leads to a series of events which sees him on guard duty, bored and hungry. So he decides to create a portal which takes him to Cloud 9 so that he can eat and drink. While he is there, a dark haired beauty catches his attention, along with every other male there. Unfortunately, whilst she can understand most languages, she can only speak in one and no else seems able to. Apart from Nevar that is, and Asmodeus when he turns up looking for Nevar.
This story is about growth, friendship and personal responsibility inasmuch as it is a love story. All our males grow upon finding their female and none so much as Nevar. He has quite the learning curve to go through but with Lysia by his side, he is convinced that he can do it. Of course, their path doesn't run smooth but Nevar finds a family that he never before acknowledged, prepared to help him and fight beside him.
All of our favourites are still here and still as brilliant as ever. Asmodeus and Veiron remain my favourites, especially in one of the last scenes where they are making fun of Nevar (but I won't say more than that so that I don't spoil anything!)
There are some interesting leads made in this story which makes me believe that the following stories in this series will continue with the smexiness, action and humour that makes them so enjoyable. Definitely recommended for all fans of PR.
If you haven't read this series then where have you been, and why the hell not? It has everything you need in a good story, firstly a fabulous original storyline, characters with depth and emotion to them, good and evil, epic battles, angst, angels that fall hard both from heaven and for their prospective partners, strong heroines that know how to kick butt, hot steamy sex scenes, and dialogue that will have you swinging from biting your nails one minute, to cursing out loud and then laughing like a lunatic. This series is epic! I have loved every hero so far but I have to admit I wasn't sure I was going to like Nevar. When we've met him previously he didn't seem to have many redeeming qualities, to be fair he didn't bring it all on himself, he had help, but still he seemed to actively want to destroy himself and those around him. In this book we get to see all the shades of Nevar, his hidden torment that sometimes makes him behave like a sulky child, his guilt over the things he has done, his hope that he can turn it all around, and his powerful feelings for Lysia that confuse and scare him at times because he doesn't believe he is worthy. Lysia is alone with no memory of where she came from but as soon as she meets Nevar she wants him, she feels safe and protected by him. Lysia isn't who we think she is, and when we find out what she is it's a shock moment, and it could have been when Nevar and the others turned their backs on her but they don't. They want to protect her and save her from her destiny. They fight to be together, to love each other and nothing will stop them, not heaven or hell. Epic!
Fanfriggntastic!! I had no idea how Ms heaton was going to redeem Nevars actions in Her Wicked Angel.. He was sort of an ass.. I mean he had every reason to be.. Asmdeous really screwed with him and broke his spirit, and that in turn ,lead Nevar to his addictions...Lysia has no memories of where she was or how she ended up where she was now.. all she knew is that something drew her to this spot... I loved how almost Immediatly Nevar had the urge too protect her and she was more then willing to let him... They are perfect together just like all of Ms Heatons characters, they all fit together like puzzle pieces. This book is filled with action, suspense, twist and turns and a few surprises along the way. I love how she always leaving you with a glimpse at the who the next book will be about! I cant wait for it! This is an excellent adddition to my favorite series!
Her Avenging Angel is the latest in the wonderful Her Angel series by Felicity Heaton. This book is about Nevar, her heroes always have the coolest names! Nevar is possibly the most conflicted of all the angels. He hates all the deeds he has done and knows there is no way to redeem himself.
The war between Heaven and Hell rages on. Can the mortal realm survive? There is a good reason why I have read all of Felicity’s books. She is a brilliant paranormal story teller. Great characters, danger, love and sexiness. Many of the characters’ from the previous books make appearances. You will love this latest book. It is exciting, heartfelt and steamy. Don’t plan on doing much else after you start this book because you won’t be able to put it down! Bring on book 8!!!
Nevar is consumed by guilt for all he has done. Everything changes when Lysia walks into a bar completely naked with no memory of who she is or anything about her life. He feels a need to protect her and she is drawn to him as well. To solidify their bond he is the only one that understands the language that she speaks. As they work together with others to figure out who she is, they fall in love with each other and will have to stand together with their friends in the ultimate battle.
You get everything in Her Avenging Angel. From the backstory of Nevar's blood addiction to his redemption. I think the relationship between Lysia and Nevar is everything. He needs in a female that is strong enough to handle him at his worst and allows him to truly be himself, and Lydia is perfect for him. I have waited for quite a while to get Nevar's story and I loved it.
Nevar was once a good angel, a loyal soldier to heaven, but all that has changed, now part demon he answers to another master. He’s a ruined soul, he can’t seem to find redemption, all he wants is to find solace at the bottom of a bottle! Lysia has no memory of who or what she is, only that she’s drawn to the ex-angel she met in a bar. Together they have to battle their feelings for one another and their enemies. Can Nevar help Lysia to regain her memory? And can she help him find peace and balance is a cruel world? This one was about redemption. Nevar was looking to blame someone for his situation, when In fact he was to blame too. Quick update...... Nevar was captured and tortured by Asmodeus, he had planned to use Nevar to destroy heaven, but after a few incidents and misunderstandings in the previous book (Her Wicked Angel) Asmodeus is now trying to help Nevar, but he can’t forgive the demon for turning him into a crazed maniac! Using alcohol and demon blood to numb the pain, Nevar wants nothing to do with heaven, hell and everything in between! I liked this one. And I loved the surprises that kept coming in this book. We meet up with previous characters. You can read this book without reading the previous ones, but if you read in order, you get more enjoyment. As always a very well thought out book, well rounded characters. Fight scenes that wound put a Hollywood movie to shame. We have emotions that will tug on your heartstrings, and moments where you just want to shout at the characters. You don’t need to read these in order. The book will happily stand on its own. But for full enjoyment, i advise you to read them in order. You won’t regret it. I fully recommend this book.
It made me chuckle but also made me cry (quite a bit actually). The struggles that our main romantic leads faced really pulled on my heartstrings; wonderful *sigh*
I also enjoyed how the background story developed - the game played between Heaven & Hell - the twists and the turns all contributing to a paranormal series full of action, intrigue, tension, passion, betrayal but above all hope.
I just finished this 4th book. It was very good. The second fallen Angel or King of Demons Asmodeus his love is now also with child. This book was certainly full of action and love Nevar another fallen Angel has now found love with Lysia a love that will never fade. I very much enjoyed reading this book on to the next one now.
This is the Seventh book in the Her Angel Series. I am a major fan of Felicity Heaton and of this series. Her ability to combine her Angel characters with witches, demons, hell hounds , various other Paranormals including an enjoyable take on the devil and his daughter, make this an enjoyable and not to be missed series. The books should be read in order as the storylines and characters cross and build upon each other. That is one of the things I love best about this series is that all the bonded couples and several other characters from the earlier books play significant roles in the books that follow. I really enjoyed seeing the family they have all become, that in itself is its own HEA.
Felicity Heaton's attention to background detail, character buildup and mesmerizing world building adds enormous depth to the books, it pulls you right into the stories and keeps you there. This incredible, all encompassing world of earth, heaven, hell, and realms in between, is incredibly well formulated adding to the visual imagery. How awesome is a tropical island sanctuary for these immortals to have as their home base. The creativity of this author never ceases to amaze me.
The unlikely hero, a fallen angel, Nevar first appeared in earlier books, and his story really started to take shape in a Her Wicked Angel. Stuck in Hell, having Asmodeus as his new master and the task of being the master of The Great Destroyer (who is supposed to bring about The Apocolypse), Nevar is not a happy camper. He is a conflicted, tortured soul who has pretty much given up on himself. This is his difficult journey of redemption, freedom and love as he bonds to a mysterious female, Lysia.
Lysia appears out of the blue and finds her way into a bar for Paranormals (Cloud Nine) She has amnesia, the last thing she remembers is being in a battle and no one knows quite what to make of her. Although Nevar is somehow able to understand her ancient language, neither he nor the group on the island nor Lysia herself are sure of who or what she is. It is evident she does hold a great deal of power. She is also drawn to Nevar from the start. Besides being a strong gorgeous male that makes her have all kinds of new and strange feelings, he makes her feel safe and protected. Where Nevar yearns to be the angel he once was and hates the demon traits he is exhibiting more and more of, Lysia sees this side of him to be one of strength and power.
The unique take this book has on good and evil, Heaven and Hell is quite intriguing. Nothing here is black and white as one would expect. Not everything or everyone in Heaven is pure good, there are dark beings and elements as well. Hell is not all darkness and horror either, there are also those with elements of goodness and honor, even a devil with some undevil like emotions (hey, he is a grandpa now). The whole series is addicting and like the other books, this one delivers thrilling suspense, action, twists and turns, romance, hot sexy scenes and lots of emotional highs and lows. Just as important as the Nevar and Lysia's growing love is the bonding and of the characters as a group and eventually a family. One of my favorite books in the series.
Nevar is a former angel of heaven. A cruel twist of fate has him at the beck and call of his new master, Asmodeus. There is no love lost between these two, which makes for a very tempestuous relationship. His thoughts of revenge and retribution have turned him into a dark being that even he no longer recognizes. On top of that he has been saddled with the added responsibility of being the master to the Great Destroyer.
Lysia is a lost soul in a strange new world where she doesn't understand the language. As luck would have it, she stumbles upon Nevar, who seems to be her only link to this unfamiliar plane. He can not only communicate with her, but he also stirs feeling in her that she has never known before. Their connection is not lost on Nevar, either. However, his current duties leave him little time for anything other than manning the post given to him by Asmodeus. Though he tries, he cannot seem to resist this female. With just a look, she can lift the darkness from his soul and give him thoughts of a future.
However, there are forces greater than a burgeoning love at play here. If the Great Destroyer is awakened fully, both mortal and heavenly realms will be irreparably damaged. When Lysia becomes a pawn in a wicked game between heaven and hell, can Nevar make good on his promise to keep her out of harm's way? Or will darkness consume them both and leave them lost forever?
As a major fan of this series, it was great to get reacquainted with the other couples. I was reminded of how strong the bonds were between them. However, I never felt that all-consuming bond between Nevar and Lysia. I didn't feel there was enough time given to them as a couple. Once the battle between the angels began, I felt that too much of the story's direction was focused on that and the main couple was overshadowed. This was not my favorite book in this series, which saddens me. I didn't get that 'I can't wait to see what happens next' feeling at the end of this one.
However, on a positive note, the brief appearance of the Devil was worth the price of admission. I wish Ms. Heaton would give the Devil his due. Sure, he's made appearances in the other books, but he needs his own book. Ms. Heaton's interpretation of the Devil is one of my very favorite things.
