Dirty Like Dylan

Rate this book
One woman.
Two rock stars.
A threesome that will change everything…

Photographer Amber Malone sucks at love. She’s been dumped, duped and dated more a-holes than any girl should ever have to.

Then she meets rock star Dylan Cope, drummer for the mega-successful rock band Dirty; gorgeous, charming and all-around nice guy. For once, the stars seem to be aligning in Amber’s favor.

There’s only one problem.

Dylan’s rock star best friend, Ashley Player, is not a nice guy. He’s broken, bitter, protective of Dylan—and wants Amber gone.

It’s almost enough to send her packing…

But when Amber and her camera inadvertently catch Ash kissing Dylan, she finds herself sucked head-over-heels into a world of secrets, lust and heartache… and a three-way relationship that will change everything she thought she knew about love.

Dirty Like Dylan is the fourth full-length novel in the Dirty series—a rockstar romance series about the members of the rock band Dirty and the women and men who love them.

Novels in the Dirty series are interconnected standalones, each with an HEA; other books (novella/story collection) are not HEA, but are essential pieces of the overall story arcs. (There are ongoing storylines that develop throughout the series; reading them in order is not crucial but is HIGHLY recommended.)

Reading order:
Dirty Like Me (Dirty #1)
Dirty Like Us (Dirty #0.5) (novella)
Dirty Like Brody (Dirty #2)
A Dirty Wedding Night (Dirty #2.5)(story collection)
Dirty Like Seth (Dirty #3)
Dirty Like Dylan (Dirty #4)

I have never gone 75% into a book really appreciating the Author's take on the Tripod relationship and wind up almost throwing my kindle by the last 25%.. I have some favorite Authors in this genre and was throughly enjoying the take on the three people involved and their thoughts, insecurities, jealous feelings and at the time the love between the three. Well guess what, that "love" was a farce between the two that were partners in crime for most of this entire series. This reminded me of being in school and you dump your bff, juvenile crap, when someone new comes along. I am sorry Ms Diamond, you had me up until now - but Ash did not deserve this ending. I feel that you copped out on the threesome relationship and Ash going through the previous breakups, abandonment issues with his mom and now he may not have a band?
Dylan was Rock God rich and gorgeous that was my take of him. He showed more of himself in Elle’s book. Amber came off as selfish at the end and with her background should have been a little more compassionate to Ash’s feelings
I would have liked this book to have been Dylan and Amber alone with Ash having a separate story.

Sadly disappointed

I love a good menage, sadly this was not one. The book was well written and a good story until it wasn't. Ash got shoved aside, not nicely, and the thing of it is he saw it coming. To me, I now hate Dylan and Amber, and I don't want to read any more of the series. This could have been written so much better even if the three of them don't work out. And the epilogue was not an epilogue, it was about two more characters. It was a the first chapter you put at the end of a book, not an epilogue. There was just nothing about Ash, nor Dylan and Amber, which at this point I couldn't care less about them. I'm irritated I invested time in a book I should have loved and now hate, so much I will never read anything else by this author.

Well - this one did not work for me. The sex was hot, but I really only cared about Ashley. Amber annoyed me and Dylan had very little personality - being "laid back" is one thing but mostly it came of as uncaring and lazy.

This book basically infuriated me. I don’t generally review books because I feel everyone should be able to have their own opinion about it but this one just pushed me over the edge. If a book is going to be in the perspective of three different people and their growing feelings, then one of the people should not suddenly be left out of it. If the book was always going to end between two people then it should have been that way through the entirety. To have 70% of the book be about the three of them and then have it change at the end is an extreme disappointment. It has been a very long time since I have felt this aggravated about the direction of a book.

After enjoying the series so far this book just left me cold.

If they had made this threesome work, even as a MFM, I would have been all for it. But instead they turned Ash’s secret unrequited love for Dylan into a hassle that was both ignored and feared. I personally don’t think the author handled it very well.

Both Amber and Dylan treated Ash’s bi-sexuality as a kink, nothing more. Minimising his wants and needs in a relationship and forgetting that he has a mind, desires and a heart too.

Dylan was a selfish narcissist (hello, rockstar) but considering how long he and Ash had been friends, and how close they were, the obliviousness was astounding. Especially when everyone around them was so open and supportive.

Ash was always a third-wheel. The elephant in the room. The ticking time-bomb.

While Amber was frequently scared they were going to “go gay” together and leave her. FFS.

This is what happens when people don’t talk to each other and only connect with sex.

End of the day I’m happy these three parted ways. I hope Dylan and Amber are happy together but I couldn’t give a fuck about them really. It’s not like the author gave them very much of a HFN anyway. Just kicked Ash out of the bed and then the epilogue was all about the next couple.

Quite frankly, Ash deserves better.

Wtf was that! You set this entire story as an MMF novel. Then you totally screwed Ashley. He was the more interesting and honestly has the better more honest connection with the female character. They had way more in common. You totally threw him not once but in two damn books. Well in my honest opinion Dylan isnt a very good friend. Selfish to be exact and Amber is just plain dumb and frankly immature. She had feelings of love for Ashley as well. She had more honest and heartfelt moments with him then she did with Dylan. So this in no way was a HEA book. Not in my opinion. You dont set it up to be one thing and then get 95% through the book just to do that. Now if I have to read about either one of these characters in the other books for the rest of the series I'm going to wish nothing but terrible things for them. Seriously I hope Dylan gets kicked from the band or tragically dies and nothing good happens for Amber either. Shes an impostor and I dont want her to tarnish the other characters. Just despise them both. What a way to just ruin a really great series until this point. Would give it negative stars if I could which is tragic from the 5 stars of the other novels. If your reading this series skip this book and save yourself from the betrayal of it!

3- 4 Seriously Hot Stars

This book reads well as a standalone.
Dylan and Ash are both hot musicians - Dylan in the band 'Dirty' and Ash in their sometimes support band, 'The Penny Pushers'. These two guys are best friends and they do everything together. And I do mean 'do'. They frequently share women and have had at least one significant long term threesome arrangement with their friend , Kitty. In this book , their love interest in Amber who is a photographer.

I feel a bit conflicted in how to rate this book. If you are rating on the sheer sex appeal of a book then this one is probably a five. It is H.O.T. The story is well paced and it definitely held this reader's interest. What caused me to decrease my rating was the way the end of the book played out. See below (contains spoilers)
HEA? Hmmm....for two of them.
Cheating? No

****DO NOT READ ON IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE SPOILERS***

Initially Ash and Amber hook up then Dylan joins and they establish a three way relationship. This goes on for a while and Amber loves both the men but eventually it is Amber and Dylan who become the couple and it is Ash that is dumped - and it really felt like he was dumped. I felt so sorry for him.He seemed to lose everything and I ended up not liking Dylan or Amber very much at all. They just discarded him in my opinion. Dylan and Amber are both straight but Ash is Bi. Ash is so in love with Dylan and it felt like he should have addressed that in a much better way, instead Dylan just kind of abandoned his best friend. I think I would have liked to see the story end with the three of them moving forward together - this can work and I have read other books where that storyline is done well. Or , Amber - and especially Dylan - should have been a lot more careful with Ash's heart.

Dylan and Ash......... I love Ash. He is definitely my favorite character so far. The love triangle between the boys and Amber is top-notch. From threesome to twosome, this book kept me on my toes, turning pages for a second reread.

Dylan is such a golden retriever boyfriend. He just wants everyone to be happy. Even if it means he isn't as happy as he deserves to be. He loves deeply, wearing his heart on his sleeve. He puts everyone else first but plays his own feeling close to the vest so as not to rock the boat. (There are a LOT of boats. Real and figurative.)

Ash Player is a player. He is tall, dark, and brooding. The complete opposite of Dylan even if the friendship is the perfect compliment. He isn't open. He doesn't let people know how he feels. He isn't a happy or excepting person. He is everything Dylan isn't until he meets Amber.

Amber is kinda prickly herself. She has a chip on her shoulder that is mostly due to insecurities. When she meets the boys, she has a hard time wrapping her head around, not one but TWO rock star boyfriends that want to share. It's appears to be every girl's dream.... until real feeling get involved.

There is little to much kinky sex. Would have liked a little more back story on Dylan and less sex triangle. This story is as much about Ash as Dylan and dives into his personality in a much deeper way than the other characters. I really enjoyed his parts of the book. Less so Amber, who seemed perfectly ok with sl*tting it up for 2 guys until she chose one. Someone was always going to be hurt, and this book left me really sad for the guy not chosen.

Dylan kinda seemed like a bit player in his own story, and even when the book was from his perspective, he really had no depth to him and nothing to say other than sex, and loving Amber. Would have preferred less sex and more depth to Dylan. This book kinda read like an excuse to write a three-way sexathon.

The only character well done was Ash, and I really hope he gets his own book soon. Such a great character.

Jaine did Ash dirty...... no pun intended.

I’m going to be honest here due to personal reasons I could give this book 2 stars!! BUT since I devoured it and couldn’t get it out of my face.....yea it was good.

BUT poor poor Ash!! My heart was bleeding for him!! He is one of my fav from this series, his character is actually more developed than some of the main characters. So YES....I’m def loving on him HARD!!!

Dylan and Amber were good together but not my fav.

BUT ASH...OH ASH....I’m salivating for your book!!!

I was enjoying this book until the last few chapters. I'm annoyed with how selfish Dylan and Amber became and how unconcerned they were for Ashley's feelings. I feel like this story is incomplete. Ashley is a major character in this story and he was just dropped at the end. What's the rest of his story? I feel rather unsatisfied with how this story ended.

That was bs what you did to Ash.

**spoiler alert*** not even the relationship fail out stuff. The "he's hurting now but he'll come back around soon." If any bi man was in that place and suddenly was "it's not you its me" after years of pining he would be gone not"gimme a couple days and I'll be fine." The way you portrayed what the couple did after was wrong too. "Oh well, thank goodness he's gone." Really? Are those two "loving sweet" character really that sallow and self centered when they weren't before in this book or the others??? It reads like it was forces apart. Like someone told you" we don't do those kinds of stories. Fix it." You can't try to have an underlying message of love who you love and then force the throw party out because it's not cool to have that in your series. Ash story better be of the f-ing chain. He deserves it after that travesty.

WTF?! If you're looking for a happy menage romance, just like it's promised on the cover and in the blurb, DON'T READ THAT BOOK cause it was all a LIE!

And here I thought I was going to DNF the book at 30% of the story...well I should have.
None of the characters were likable.
The heroine is rash, rude, thinks so highly of herself that she doesn't bother being profesionnal and polite, she felt just like a dtf bimbo with all the descriptions of how hot she was and how she wanted to f**** and was horny.
Ashley is rude...just, plainly rude and super aggressive and not in a good way. He only got "kinder" when the girl started showing interest in him...how superficial is that?!
Dylan was...what? Inexistant? Just following the flow? He's supposed to be the main character of the book (titled after him) but it sure didn't feel like it until 70% of the book.

Plus a terrible terrible ending, I felt betrayed, I felt -punched and I felt like vomiting.

Biphobia, Transphobia, and an Empty HEA

I'll be posting my highlights from this book that have the particular passages that made me uncomfortable.

On top of all of these issues, the FMC was annoying, aloof, terrible, immature, and just plain bad. I hated her so much. My highlights sort of explain why, but even later in the book, she was just such an unlikeable character.

I'm disappointed in this book.

Siiiiiigh. From a steam POV, it’s a solid 4. But... AGH. I’m so butthurt about this book!

I was signed up and in the club. But the ending. I just... I didn’t like it. And the epilogue wasn’t an epilogue, it was a sneak peek into Roni and Jude’s story, not a glimpse down the road at Dylan’s HEA.

It had me and then it lost me.

It's the morning after the night before. I'm still mad. I really am. I feel duped. This was supposed to be a beautiful story about love and a menage. Turned out to be a nasty love triangle where one got jilted and not nicely. I'm probably going to be mad about this for a long time.

With each book in the series, I am finding the heroines more and more annoying but at least the heroes were hot and vulnerable and I really liked them... Until this one... They both were selfish and immature and played with Ash feelings without any kind of remorse... I couldn't stand Dylan or Amber... The only good thing about this book was Ash and we all know how that ended, he deserves a book and a HEA of his own, Totally frustrating...

This story did Ashley so dirty (pun intended), which made me sad because I adore him. I found myself completely disliking Amber and Dylan after this book and having no investment in their characters in later books. This was a bummer because Dylan was one of my favorites earlier in the series. This is the only book in the Dirty series that I did not enjoy.

Amber gets hired to be a photographer by her sister Liv on an underwear ad starring none other than rock god himself Dylan Cope. His best friend Ashley Player immediately is a huge asshole to her trying to keep her away from Dylan, but when Amber is fired from the shoot she ends up staying at Ash's house when Dylan offers to her sister Liv for Amber to stay there. Amber thinks that Dylan and Ash are in a relationship but can't help wanting Dylan. He is hot, talented, and extremely kind. Staying with Ash though she can't help but notice how hot he is and one night sleeps with him. Later Dylan asks her to enter into an arrangement with he and Ash and although she is reluctant due to her past with rockstars she agrees. She sees however that Ash who is obviously bisexual has major feelings for Dylan, who is straight. When those feelings come out and when Dylan and Amber fall for each other things between the three of them become too complicated.
I liked Dylan in this book but had issues with Amber. She did not seem to get that people could experiment with the same sex or be bisexual, and yet she was supposedly a worldly traveler. This book took me longer to get into and even longer too finish. However I still love the men and women of the 'Dirty' family and I want to continue to the next book. I also hope to read Ash's book since I think he got the wrong end of the deal in this book.

Dylan is an easy going drummer for Dirty. Ash is his more intense best friend and lead singer of the band Penny Pushers. They became best friends within hours of meeting each other. Dylan is a ROCK GOD and gorgeous. He likes to be watched. And over the years him and Ash started sharing woman in the bedroom. This suits Ash just fine because he likes both men and woman so watching Dylan is a real turn on for him. Ash knows he is in love with Dylan but can't bring himself to tell him. He knows Dylan loves him but is not ever going to be with him sexually, Dylan is not into guys the same way. So the only thing Ash can do is share Dylan with another.

Along comes Amber with her Girl Next Door cute as can be. She is a photographer which to Dylan is foreplay. LOL

Dylan decides to purpose a threesome relationship to Amber for him and Ash. Although Amber is not sure how this will work she definitely likes the idea of getting to have sex with both hot rockers. Amber and Ash are very similar and that is probably why Dylan is falling for Amber. Ash can feel the dynamics changing and Dylan pulling away. Ash has to come clean with his feelings for both Dylan and Amber. Amber has to come clean with Ash about her feelings for both men as well. No matter what someone will get hurt and left behind.

I liked the story but am sad that Ash does not have his own book yet. I felt sad for Ash since he bared his soul and feels abandoned yet again by people he loves. Amber's character was cute and I love her thriftiness. She felt more real and down to earth then a lot of others. Dylan of course you fall for. He is laid back and quiet. I love that.

Hoping for Ash's book soon. Ash needs his HEA.

I don’t exactly know how to rate this one. Especially without all the spoilers.

It was all too much. Too much threesome action. To the point where I’m like does anything happen in this book besides constant three way sexual encounters? Too much of me wanting Ash to not barge in. Too much of me just kind of like ok Dylan and Amber would like to be alone and build something sooooo. It just felt totally implausible to me that Dylan would just let Ash be in love with him and claim he didn’t know. Ash using a throuple just to be having these experiences with Dylan skeeved me out about him. It was all a mess. A twisted, kinky mess. How Amber could be feeling all these things for Dylan but then immediately get it on with Ash next or simultaneously is beyond me. So basically all I can say about this one is it was all too much.

Disappointing

What an absolute disappointment. 90% of this book was about an menage a trois both feeling wise and the physicality and right at the end decides to basically say that to main characters don't actually love the third. I just don't get it. Really disappointing and really sad in all honesty. I don't even want to read the series anymore because of what the author did, I don't even want to read spoiler - Ashley's book - because quite frankly it just makes me really angry; like don't use a cover that shows a menage a trois and don't write a book where 80% of it is, only for them to end in a MF relationship, leaving the third out like dirty laundry. So flipping sad.

3.5🌟 2's company, 3's a party. Ash, Dylan, and Amber were...*very* sexy and steamy. I do take issue with ASH, without giving too much away. I also wasn't sure what Amber was thinking, who she was really into, and who was really into her. I like the tension romance brought the other books, where the romance with these three was a little harder to get to. Overall still kicking my feet up at this series and loving.

So I was going to stop at Dirty Book 3, but then I was too curious about this one to not read it.

I've never read a menage/threesome romance before, so I didn't know what to expect.

It was a very hot read, and the romance and relationship part was very messy.

I liked it, and the focus was very much three people and their relationships together. I felt like there was more Ashley and Amber then Dylan so I was very curious how this thing was going to play out.

For a Dirty Like Dylan book, I kind of wanted more Dylan in it, and more with special moments with him connecting with Amber emotionally which I didn't really see or get too much.

I felt Ash was the most liked character in the book, at least the one I liked the best, and I was just diappointed on how it played out.

It was very hot and it kept my interest pretty good but I needed like a few more chapters at least.

Here’s the deal… I would’ve given a higher rating but what do all these people have against Ash? Like literally… he’s kind, he’s funny, he’s talented. And still it seems like everybody just leaves him behind. First there was Elle. And then there’s Dylan and Amber. He loves both of them. He’s been Dylan’s best friend for like forever and they’re just like …🤷🏻‍♀️🤷tough hope you figure it out. I actually quite enjoyed this book but I hated how everything worked out with Ash.
This is why I don’t read love triangles. And when I do I need a solid reason why I should choose one character over the other. This book doesn’t have that . I wouldn’t have cared which one she chose she could’ve chosen both of them and just wouldn’t’ve cared cuz I ask again wtf is there to have against Ashley?

I totally enjoyed this book, not as much as Jesse's book or Seth's, but I did like it. But I honestly would've liked it better if it was just Dylan. I like his vibe, I like him with Amber, I don't like Ash and Amber. Idk, didn't vibe with them.

And Amber falling for both, then just Dylan? Ash falling for Amber, but no maybe also just Dylan? Dylan only having eyes for Amber and ruining his friendship with Ash?
Yeaaahh, nope. I didn't like that.

There was also so much more plot in the other books, this one felt very filler. I vibe well with Jaine Diamond's writing so I still enjoyed this book, but it's wasn't great. So it's getting three stars.

Is it my toxic trait that I thought a love triangle was gonna have a happy ending for everyone? Because at the end, all I felt was sad for Ash 😭 The book was fabulous, it was super steamy, but why did they have to do Ash dirty like that? I felt like he got absolutely trampled in this… I’m reading his book right now because I need to know he gets his happily ever after 🥹

Jaine has done it again, she has smashed it out of the park with this intensely sexually amped rockstar book. This book is about three individuals who face the unknown when it comes to love. She wrote it in a three POV and it helps the story immensely! It’s a book about the love of music, that one, and heartache.

Amber is an extraordinarily talented photographer. She has traveled all over the world photographing everything. She has a huge chip on her shoulder when it comes to love and relationships. Better yet the opposite sex. She’s witty and also knows how to stand up for herself.

Ashley is the lead singer of the Penny Pushers. He is has a great voice. Ash is know as being the a$&hole and he proudly wears that cap. Once you get past his dark side, he actually is a sweet guy with a big heart. His past is what made him the way he is.

Dylan is the drummer for Dirty. He is a mountain of a man, who wears a kilt while playing. He is extremely big hearted and will do a lot for everyone, before asking for anything in return. Dylan is also known for dealing with any hard issue by somewhat shutting down.

Amber is hired by her sister to shoot the background of a commercial that Dirty is doing. She meets Ash and Dylan during this time. Ash and her have some words which leads to Amber getting sent to stay off on the island. She reluctantly goes and discovers its Ash’s house she is staying in. And that Dylan is his neighbor. They have a somewhat rocky start, but Dylan hires her to take pictures of his entire house. Dylan sees how incredibly talented she is, but also sees her layers start to peel away. The three of them have an intense time together.

What happens when someone’s heart is on the line? Will Amber leave and head off to travel again? Does she stay for one of both of them?

This book was so hot and intense. It was great to see a softer side of Ashley, he’s been portrayed as the bad boy in previous books. I highly recommend reading the whole series before reading this book to understand the characters. Awesome job Jaine! If I had more than five ice cream cones go give I would!

This book in the Dirty series has left me a little shell shocked. Amber was the free spirited photographer whose sister worked for Dirty and gave Amber a job. This set this threesome in business by Amber staying on the same island as Dylan and Ashley. Dylan was Dirty’s drummer who was nothing but hot and gorgeous and Ashley was the lead man for the Penny Pushers who were going to open for Dirty once they headed out on tour again. Ashley was more of the thorny hot rocker in this duo and they had the reputation of sharing women.

Without giving away any of the details of the storyline I have to say that I had loved the steamy chemistry between these people and some of the ongoing stories of some of the other Dirty people we have come to love. There was one turn of events that more than stunned me and had me thinking twice but maybe that is what a good book is supposed to do. I hope that in the future stories this one will get ironed out more and leave me more settled in the feelings of this book.

I do recommend this book because Ms. Diamond has not let me down yet and has given me everything and more that you expect in a good rock romance. I am looking forward to more on the stories of Dirty and the Penny Pushers.

The minute I got my hands on this book I had so many hopes for both Dylan and Ash. I fell hard for Ash in previous installments and I so wanted him to get his chance. Dylan was always the quiet and deadly rocker I knew would give us all a run for our money. What I didn't expect was the unusual mix of these 2 rockers and the hippie photographer that turned their world upside down.

I have read my fair share of both mmf and mm books and the unique chemistry between this threesome was something special. Watching the depth of the emotions develop for all of them keeps you on the edge of your seat. The support characters of The Dirty crew continue to add their two cents and make you never want to leave their world.

The real question is will this threesome be able to find the right blend to make it work or will things backfire in their faces??
