Some books are there to be savoured and others to devour. It took me 40 min to finish this one so you can guess which one was this.
I think Mrs Mink has put a spell on me as I can't stop reading her books and love every single one of them.

La tienda que invadió mi tranquila vida y convirtió mi ciudad en un set de películas. No quiero tener nada que ver con nada de eso. Pero entonces escucho su voz. Y no puedo pensar en engranajes y tick tocks.

Una tienda pop-up es la idea perfecta para publicitar nuestro estreno de Kitty Cat Valentine. Puede que no sea la estrella de la película, pero ciertamente puedo ser la MVP2 de la tienda. Pero cuando mi amiga le dice a la larga fila de personas que le estoy dando un beso a un comprador afortunado, no sé si puedo hacerlo.
Hasta que él entra. Sam. Un hombre estoico que está construido como un tren de carga y besa como si fuera en serio.
Quiero ser su Valentín, pero cuando su peligroso pasado lo encuentra,
¿podremos darle una oportunidad al amor?
Este es un cuento corto con temática de San Valentín con una mezcla de comedia y acción.
Sam era un ex mercenario (esto me recordó a la serie The blushing brides que terminé hace poco y hasta hacen mención a Diego en una parte! ). Él es un tipo solitario, gruñón pero cuando conoce a Fawn es todo corazoncitos en sus ojos.
Me gustó él y cómo cuidaba a Fawn. Me reí mucho cuando desmayó a Brent de un puñetazo que lo tenía bien merecido.
Fawn es una chica dulce, ingenua y divertida, me reí con su gato y cuando contó sobre sus citas y cómo salieron mal por la maldición.
Esta pareja tuvo una buena química con escenas lindas y apasionadas también.
Lo que me pareció fuera de lugar fue la parte donde los mercenarios se quieren llevar a Fawn. Me gusta la acción y el suspenso pero aquí fue confuso. ¿Quién robó la ropa interior de Fawn al final? Qué pasó entre los mercenarios y Sam, parecía que lo iban a matar! Qué destino tuvo Brent? Terminó rápido desde allí y no quedé conforme la verdad.
Esta lectura fue un romance instantáneo con la marca de MINK por todos lados, fue muy dulce y totalmente increíble pero de todos modos divertido y sexy.

This has all the elements of a MINK book I enjoy-- socially awkward heroine whose a level 10 clinger, an adorable kitty, instalove. It also has the elements I don't enjoy (e.g. the murderiness), but it wasn't so in your face that I couldn't move past it

As for Fawn shes happy and excited to be in charge of this event even if she has to dodge the leader actor who is a pest and make sure her star and cat Bear is safe and sound. Shes alittle annoyed that the actor keeps trying to kiss her (she says shes cursed) and is saved by a handsome rugged stranger.. and boy does she want to fall.
But some forces are trying to fk up their time together, and Fawn not so secret about her family comes out.
No ow drama slight om drama, no cheating, slight secondary chara, drama, sexy times, Virgin gal and no manwhore

Fires, getting hit by a bus (not her) her ex boyfriend. See where I’m going here. Of course it’s happened because her first kiss should be her last. With the one she’s meant to spend her life with.

This was quite the ride. Sam is hiding from his past running his own shop as a watch maker/fixer. He is happy and content with his quiet solitaire life until he gets a glimpse of a red head that works at a new pop up shop across from his store. They are both attracted and drawn to each other but Sam is worried about his past and Fawn is worried about a curse she insists she is inflicted with. These two have quite a wild ride on their journey towards a HEA. I don’t want to say to much so I don’t spoil it for anyone.

Completely safe. No ow drama, an actor that the h works with is in to her and causes drama throughout the story. He’s a pain in the butt. H’s sexual past isn’t mentioned but it didn’t sound like he was a virgin and h is a virgin. No abuse but there is a bit of violence.

Loved this book. Sam and Fawn were so good together. All it took was the sound of her voice to have him falling in love without even seeing her. Great instalove with the swoon worthy ex-mercenary alpha and his sweet little cinnamon roll. Can’t wait to read more from Mink. Never disappointed.

This was a great story,kind of focusing on a Hallmark style movie filming in town. Pop-Up store around the movie and Valentine’s Day brings us to Fawn. Fawn is working for the production company. Sam has a shop across the street. Sam has some pretty big secrets that help add action and suspense. Fawn and Sam have great chemistry and steamy scenes. Completely safe and really funny!

THE GRUMP … his sexy, sweet CINNAMON ROLL… and the KISS CURSE
Hear that? It’s the sound of a chorus of tiny Cupids releasing a collective sigh over this sweetly and comically absurd Valentine’s Day romance. Pure romance confection. This is my first read by Mink, but it won’t be my last.
Never-been-kissed Fawn (20) “the virgin” is pinchably adorable. She believes she’s the victim of a “kiss curse” . Every time a guy puckers up, something bad happens to prevent the kiss. Her bestie Kelly the “Hollywood actress” blames it on her not meeting Mr. Right … yet. Both girls are in the quaint, location town of Kelly’s latest movie with her obnoxious co-star Brent to open a publicity pop-up store in advance of the movie premiere. The pop-up is across from a shop owned by retired mercenary-turned-watchmaker Sam (33), which gives him a bird’s eye view of the glam, crowds of fans … and an earful of the noise. He pretends he’s just on a mission to put a stop to all that racket after hearing Fawn’s angelic voice on the P.A. system announcing a “kiss” contest with her as the prize. Once he stands in line though and gets a gander at Fawn, he’s determined to get the kiss, the girl, and push jerky Brent out of the way.
The romance aspect was the most infectious because of the characters and dialogue. Sam's a riot as a grumpy sourpuss who wants peace and quiet after his adventurous life as a mercenary, but also shares insta-lust with cutie-pie Fawn as his instant soul mate whom he nicknames “cinnamon roll” for her sweetness. He says "I came here for peace and quiet, not hearts and glitter” – but that’s exactly what he gets! Hunky, protective, and obsessed with Fawn like some over-protective smitten teddy bear, his go-to response to in protecting her from harm is a gun or fists – totally hysterical overkill. “Who’d say no to a guy with a gun? Not anyone who’ll live to tell about it, that’s who.”
I’m not usually a fan of these OTT insta-lust quickies, but this one shot Cupid’s arrow through my heart and it stuck. She’s a compliant, love-struck young thing, and he’s a possessive grump with a soft romantic heart. None of it was believable, but so entertaining and hot. There’s feuding suitors, cat lovers, mercenaries, a kidnapping plot, a bad dad, a movie premiere and sweet, sweet romance. The action twist involving Sam’s past at 70% was really OTT and slowed the comic momentum a bit for me, without as much jokey treatment. But, the double epilogues were cute and the ridiculously OTT comedic pursuit of love in the rest of the story grabbed me hardest. I’ve got one question though: who was her important dad anyway? The double epilogues were cute.

When I started this book, I told myself, it's going to be a quiet, romantic book. But as I read, I was surprised. A book with everything, an innocent girl, a man who is not what he seems. Again MINK makes me put it as my favorite, and very anxious about the next book.

Um, yes please. Sam could not be more perfect. Loved this short sweet insta love. Super funny and made me laugh out loud. Loved Kelly and would like to see her get her own love story. Can't wait for whats next.

This had a lot of potential, that beginning really enticed me. This was fun enough, it just felt lacking in a lot of areas. Unanswered questions and not enough relationship development (I'm sorry but those sex scenes were dry as hell, I expected better from Ms Mink).

Fawn is an assistant helping her friend, who is the star of the new movie. Sam goes over there intending to complain about the noise, but when he sees Fawn, he decides the noise is okay. But what's not okay is someone bothering her - don't worry, he'll put a stop to any shenanigans (unless they're his shenanigans)!
Commentary: Another criminal/hitman, in this story, retired. He wants a quiet life, but it never happens in a Mink story! Fawn is another sweet (cinnamon roll!), young, naive heroine whose voice captivates Sam the first time he hears it. She's the assistant to the star, but she's the one he wants. Fun allusions to the stereotypical Hallmark movies. I liked this one a lot, but I didn't like it as much as some of the other Mink stories mostly because it felt like there were too many extra characters at times.

If the h talked about the "curse" one more time I was going to throw my kindle! It got redundant and annoying. I'm also questioning how "good" of a mercenary the H could have been with the dumb things he did. He kept drawing attention to himself first by kissing her in front of everyone after getting in a confrontation with a famous Hollywood actor. Then gets in a fist fight with the actor. Then we learn he isnt in town under an aliase, but his first and middle name being used like his last. Really?! I thought you were hiding.

Awesome story with Sam and Fawn. Fawn believes she is cursed and still has not had her first kiss until Sam. Sweet deadly assassin Sam. I love these books more. The one's with the The Brotherhood Assassins and the Red Dragoon? Lol. I'm hoping Ms. Mink puts out more assassin and mafia books. Those are the best! Great read, some action and hit lovemaking. 4.5 stars****

Another great story with steam, insta love and a HEA. I loved the characters and the story was sweet and funny. Had to laugh quite a few times. 😂😂 The ex mercenary and the girl from the pop up shop... just awesome. Loved that there was action as well. Brent was such a nuisance, he got what he deserved in the end 😂😂😂A fun read without real drama... and a sweet HEA.

I have loved all of MINK's works. But the last two books just didn't have that spark. I found it hard to keep reading this one because I just didn't find any chemistry between the characters.
