From throne room to bedroom, I'm royally screwed... As Prince, I could have it all. Problem is, I don’t want it. Any of it. I just want her. I've never embraced my status in the royal family as Prince Sandor Gustaffson... until now. The head of security for the royal family, I'm used to being in the shadows, but after eleven years I'm forced back into the spotlight. My family works to rebuild our country, while I'm pulled in a million different directions. But the only direction I want to look is to her: Lennox Briggs. She’s been a thorn in my side since she was brought in as the first woman on our security team. Getting involved with her would be a mistake. Lennix is more than qualified, but a distraction I can't afford. Too bad my heart—and other regions—aren’t listening. After so many years protecting the people I love, how do I choose between my heart and my duty? Because I definitely can’t have both.
A 4.5 star review for Kat Mizera’s newest book in her latest series - Sandor, Book 1 in the Royal Protectors series.
Sandor is a prince and a bodyguard to his cousin Erik, who is King of Limaj, an Eastern European country, which is currently unsettled and going through times of change, growth and conflict. The story begins when an attack threatens Parliament, eliciting a quick escape for Sandor, Erik and other royal security members, and not for the first time. They are soon on their way to the US where Erik’s heavily pregnant wife Casey, and children are living awaiting the birth. Cue Lennox, a no holds barred, strong and very capable woman, part of the Royal security team and currently charged with being Casey’s bodyguard.
It is upon the arrival of the King and his entourage to the US that Sandor and Lennox meet, with Sandor soon showing his disapproval of not having vetted Lennox himself as head of security. Both are fired up, stubborn and willing to show the other that they’ve got what it takes to be a part of the security team. I enjoyed this scene, they both were impressed with the others skills and showed they would give their all if need to be to save one of the Royals lives and to stand in the line of duty.
What follows is a romance that has some drama in the light of a country finding its feet and the upheaval of a family trying to settle in their new roles, and even new country for Casey and the children. Sandor and Lennox have their own personalities and hidden vulnerabilities and I loved how Ms Mizera brings this to light and writes a romance that had me cheering for them from the start, intrigued as to how these two would gel despite their strong beliefs and giving all they can to protect the Royal family.
I recommend Sandor to readers who enjoy contemporary romance, some intrigue, and alpha men and women! I enjoyed meeting all the characters that are a part of the Royal Protectors, with new ones to come and I look forward to the next book - Xander’s story.
I received an early copy of this book, this is an honest review and all opinions are my own.
Sandor has always been a loyal protector to the crown and that is why he has spent over ten years protecting the woman that Erik loved and their son until it was safe for him to return. When he finds out the security detail now includes Lennox he isn’t shy about making his opinions felt.
Lennox is excited about her opportunity and is confident in her abilities to keep the family safe. She isn’t about to let an arrogant man distract her from her duties.
These two are perfect for each other. The chemistry between them is hot whether they are fighting or flirting and she is firm in her convictions which is exactly what he needs. I was happy to see Sandor find the love he deserves.
Mizera gives emotions quite a workout. Sandor doesn't make liking him easy. He's a heartbreaker who knows how to live in the shadows, but is forced to step into the light. Drama follows him. Love evades him and temptation lures him. Can his heart's desire give him shelter from the danger that is coming their way? Mizera turns love into an adventure of the heart that will steal away with your heart. Nobody does romance like Kat Mizera. (4.5 stars)
I love when an author realizes that people fall in love at all ages, not just late teens or early 20's. This book was a breath of fresh air because of that. Sandor is a 39 year old hot, broody, control freak alpha male. He is also rich and a prince to boot. Lennox is a 32 year old bada**, tom boyish body guard dedicated to her job. These two rarely had time for relationships in their past, yet alone time to fall in love. They never really see each other coming but once they lock lips there is no going back.
I thought this book was very well written. It just flowed and I love that about a good book. I will admit I saw their drama coming. With Sandor's controlling tendencies you could see it coming half a book before it actually did. I think that helped though because I was prepared for it. What I loved was the additional lack of drama for them, especially when it came to women and Sandor's status. Lennox was strong enough to hold her own ground for the little bit that did and I loved it. Most of the drama centered around Erik and his family so there was still plenty but it wasn't anything that drove me insane.
I loved all the secondary characters and really hope that Elen gets her own story. I think she would be fun to read, especially since I feel there is more to say when it comes to the drama surrounding this royal family. I didn't read Erik and Casey's story but feel that I should so I get a better understanding of their backgrounds and the whole family dynamic. I kind of felt like Lennox when she said she read the family background but still didn't quite know all of it.
Sandor and Lennox were an amazing couple and I couldn't be happier that they got their HEA. They deserved it and I'm glad they had the support to back them up. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Sandor was bodyguard to his cousin Prince Erik of Limaj but when Erik was forced to fake his own death he asked Sandor to protect the woman he loved and their child. Sandor dedicated the next 11 years of his life doing just that which meant putting his own life on hold. When circumstances changed and Erik returned Sandor was left in limbo. Erik needs Sandor to take on a role which acknowledges his own royal title of Prince Sandor which means stepping back from his life of protector for Erik and his family. Lennox is brought on as the first woman in their protection detail without Sandor's prior approval and as such they do not get on. As he gets to know her he realises she is more than capable and realises that some of his resistance to her being on the team is more to do with his attraction to her.
Can Lennox break through Sandor's need for control? Can the protect the royal family and their hearts
Sandor deserves his own happy every after but will he be able to let go enough to let someone else in.
Love this story so so happy to learn more about the hunky protector of my favourite royal couple
Sandor finally gets his own story and it’s filled with heart, love and passion. We met Sandor in The Royal Trilogy where he is devoted to his cousin Erik and his beloved Casey. Their story is truly sensational! He devotes everything to the safety of this royal family. Yes he’s the cousin... meaning he is a prince 👑 ! Does he deserve love? Does he expect it to find him? Yes to the first and no to the second. So when he meets Lennox he doesn’t expect being drawn to her and the need for her.
Let’s just say... when a prince meets his princess hearts are going to break all over the world tonight!
Why Ten Stars? Sandor deserves it....I finished this story with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes (good ones). Perfect start to a new series! If you love royalty and their love stories you need this book!
It’s rare for me to give a 10 star review. I gave 3 last year. Over the years authors write great stories... but exceptional they get the extra stars. Why? Well when a story gives you all the feels and all the extra... that’s what does it. This author Kat Mizera... has earned this from me three times over my years as a blogger. She’s insanely talented... her stories are well researched and she dives deeper to make you love her characters and become invested!
The Sandor at the start of this one was not one we've seen in any of the books, he was prick! I was glad that Lennox quickly put him in his place and let him know she was qualified to do the job she was hired for. I also loved how their relationship changed. It was a struggle for them, mostly because their time together was limited, but they made the most of it when they had it.
It was great when Sandor shared parts of his country he loved with Lennox and their quickie vacation in NYC was great for them to have an extended period of time together without work.
Lennox was savvy enough to put up with the social vipers that circled around Sandor vying for his attention.
I could have done without the drama at the end, even as I understood Sandor's knee jerk reaction, was glad to see that Erik put him in his place and that Sandor knew what he needed to do to fix things. It made for a very happy ending.
This might be the first book in this series. But I strongly recommend reading The Royal Trilogy before reading this book. It gives you more of a background for it. After living in secret for years Sander is back in the public eye in the royal family. After numerous attacks and attempts to kill the king he wants to get more security on hand. Nothing can prepare him for Lennox. She is very skilled. Able to take him down. But will he walk away with his heart? Loved the book!
I received this Arc in exchange for a fair and honest review! And I absolutely loved it!!! Its the story of the royal family of a small European country. Sandor is best friend and cousin to the King and its his job to ensure that the King and his family are safe. Lennox is the new protective detail for the queen and a strong, fierce woman. The story is fast paced, dual pov's which I love and very hot. I got the impression that this was a follow up to another series, I'm not sure. First read from this author, but not the last!!!
I’m absolutely loving this new series, Sandor is such a bad a**. The chemistry Sandor and Lennox have in the beginning on the story was amazing, especially because they hate each other from the beginning. The banter between them has me cracking up. I couldn’t get enough of the story, I hope there’s more to come. With all the new characters in this series and all the intertwined characters from other books, I can’t to read more. 💕 This is starting to be one of my favorite series from Kat.
I was so excited to learn that Sandor was getting his own book and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Sandor is protective and loyal. Lennox is his match in every way. Can Sandor let go enough to fall in love? Sandor and Lennox do not get off to the best start but the chemistry between them was off the charts. I loved their story and hope to see them again.
I have been wait for his book forever. It did not disappoint at all. Ahh Sandor trying to find his one after living his life for his King. Lennox was the perfect mate for him. He needed an extreme stong emotional and physical woman to keep him in his place.
I loved this book! I was glad to finally find out more about Sandor, and also be back with Erik, Casey, and the gang. Sandor has dedicated his life to serving his country and his royal family, and has never spent much of any time finding things for himself. Lennox completely takes him by surprise, and he’s not sure he can do a relationship and his duty at the same time. Lennox has always been underestimated because she’s a girl, during her military training, and even now in the security field. She also has not spent much time figuring out what she wants in a partner, too dedicated to the job. But together, just maybe they can find a way to stay dedicated and find happiness as well. I’d definitely recommend this book.
4.5 Mother-Fing-Swoon. I adore Sandor and Lennox, both separately and as a couple. Things start off heatedly, then there’s a whole new meaning for passion between these two. They’re both insanely alpha and can kick arse like no other. There was a ton of emotion that this book pulled out of me, and I loved every minute. The way these two just fit together, is as amazing as this HEA romance. I definitely recommend this book.
I love the way Kat Mizera has created this world of rock music, royals, and blended families. In Sandor, we finally get to focus on a man who has been integral to the story from the beginning.
Sandor has spent his life first protecting his cousin, Erik, and then protecting Erik’s son and Casey, the love of Erik’s life. Now, finally, Erik is king and has a full security staff, and Sandor is pushed into a public role as a royal in the government.
I’ve been waiting for Sandor to be free to find his own love, to begin to actually have a life. And Lennox is perfect. She is smart, strong, and an experienced protector, able to hold her own against any man.
I received and ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This was not one of my favorites. I enjoyed her other books more. Thesis one was more involved and too many people. I just couldn’t get into it like the others. I don’t know if it was the characters or the reactions to each other.
With Sandor, the first book in the Royal Protectors series, Kat Mizera has hit a home run. What a fantastic book! Sandor is Prince Sandor Gustaffson and also the head of security for the royal family. Sandor and King Erik are in Limaj when another bomb is set off at Parliament. Sandor and Erik head to Vegas where Casey is due to give birth at any minute. Erik makes it in time for the birth of his child, but Sandor is angry that Lennox is in place as a bodyguard for Casey, since he didn't vet her himself. Sandor kicks Lennox out. Lennox thinks Sandor doesn't want her because she is a female and challenges Sandor to spar with her at the gym. Sandor sees Lennox in a different light after she gets him to tap out. As Sandor and Lennox spend more time together, their feelings and attraction increase for each other. Sandor and Lennox give into their attraction and agree to keep their relationship separate from their jobs. Lennox is assigned as Casey's bodyguard when the royal family heads back to Limaj. Sandor insists that Lennox move into his wing in the palace when her room hasn't been renovated yet. Lennox worries how it will look, but Sandor says it isn't anyone's business. When the children slip away from the palace, Sandor blames himself for being distracted by his feelings for Lennox and breaks things off with her. Lennox is broken hearted and asks Erik for a favor. Lennox wants to go to Florida to visit her mother and be reassigned to Monte Carlo. Can Erik make Sandor see that his role has changed and he deserves to have a family, too? How will Lennox react when she gets a letter from her doctor about her IUD? Will Sandor go after the woman he loves? Can Sandor convince Lennox to forgive him and give them a chance at a future together? How will Sandor react when Lennox tells him she might be pregnant? I absolutely loved Sandor! Kat Mizera is an amazing writer who delivers with each book she writes. The chemistry between Sandor and Lennox is explosive and hot. I loved seeing so many characters from previous books in this book. Lennox is the right amount of kick butt and soft that compliments Sandor's alpha male. I couldn't put this book down and would highly recommend getting Sandor and any other book by Kat Mizera. I cannot wait until the next book in the Royal Protectors series, Xander, to come out. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.
Kat Mizera has written an intriguing 5-star book that you will not be able to put down. Sandor is a prince and also a bodyguard to his cousin Erik the King. They are in Limaj trying to get things settled in parliament when another bodyguard can in and told Erik they had to get everyone out. Sandor takes Erik down into the escape tunnel with other family members. Erik is supposed to be on his way to the States to be with his wife Casey who is 9 months pregnant and due any day. Casey goes into labor while Erik is still in the air and he gets to the hospital just in time for the birth of the baby. Sandor is upset because Lennox is a new team member and he has not passed her to be there. When they get into Casey's room Sandor tells Lennox she can go. This does not go well for Sandor, Lennox thinks it is because she is a female and Sandor doesn't think she can handle herself. As Lennox and Sandor spend more time together their feelings start to change for each other. Erik is needed back in Limaj to guide his people and when they go back Lennox goes with them as Casey's bodyguard. Things go good for Lennox and Sandor until the children sneak out and while looking for them Lennox stops one of them being taken. Sandor feels like this is his fault and if he had not been with Lennox then the children would not have gotten out. Sandor tells Lennox that they need to break up so that he can do his job. Lennox is upset so she goes to see the King and asks him if he would her to go see his mom in Flordia and if she could use his plane, also when she comes back she wants to trade places with another bodyguard in Monte Carlo and Erik tells her she can. When she is on the plane she goes through her mail and finds a letter from her doctor telling her that her implant is expired and she needs a new one. Lennox and Sandor have been having unprotected sex thinking she is protected. Can Lennox get past her feelings for Sandor and move on with her life? Will Sandor realizes that he needs Lennox in his life? This book will grab you from the first page to the last page and I would recommend this book to anyone. I received an ARC of this book for my voluntarily and honest review.
When Sandor comes back from Limaj with Erik, he finds that there's a new security agent on Casey's team - one whom he did not vet, and whom he does not want on the security team. But not for a valid reason, but because she's a woman. A gorgeous, strong woman who is getting under his skin by not putting up with his bs at all.
The chemistry between these two is apparent from the start and I love how Lennox doesn't put up with Sandor's shit, dishes it right back, and brings the tough head of security agent to his knees.
I loved the back and forth between Lennox and Sandor, and how he FINALLY comes to his senses and does some character growth. He was hard for me to like at the beginning, but I love how Lennox got him, how she softened him a tad when he fell in love with her. I'm not sure whose story is next in the Royal Protectors series, but whosever it is, I hope it's as good as Lennox and Sandor's.
Sandor Gustaffson is back, and I couldn’t be more excited to learn more about this enigmatic prince and bodyguard to Erik, Casey and family from the Nowhere Trilogy.
Needing to prove herself once again as a woman in a predominantly male field, Lennox Briggs isn’t ready to take crap from anyone, even if it is her sexy as can be new boss.
Always feeling pulled in a million directions at once, Sandor has no intentions of falling for anyone, especially not the newest member of his team tasked with protecting the people he considers to be his family.
Both are tough as nails, married to the job and suck at relationships. They don’t even know how to relax or take a day off. But, the attraction between Sandor and Lennox is crazy intense. And, when it bursts into flames, it turns into so much more very quickly. But, how is Sandor supposed to choose between what he sees as his duty and romance?
I was thrilled to be back in this world and to catch up with what was happening with Sandor as well as Erik, Casey and the country of Limaj. There’s still plenty of intrigue and suspense to keep readers guessing while we also get to see a different side to Sandor than we did in the original trilogy.
Lennox is so capable and really bad a$$! But, she has a sweet and tender side as well. And Sandor . . . who would have thought he was a romantic softie even if he did need some romance advice from Erik. Their romance was a fabulous juxtaposition of incredible heat and almost what felt like young love since neither Sandor or Lennox had had successful relationships before which left them fumbling a bit which was adorable.
I loved that this book brought together a cast of familiar characters from many of Kat Mizera’s books and it felt seamless. I also adored Erik and Casey more than even in this book. 5 stars for this thrilling romance.
I absolutely love when an author realizes that people fall in love at all ages, not just late teens or early 20's. I adore this book because of that. Sandor is a 39 year old hot, broody, control freak alpha male. He is also rich and, and did I forget to mention, a prince. Lennox is a 32 year old bada**, tom boyish body guard dedicated to her job. I highly recommend this book and plan on reading Erik and Casey’s story. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
You are probably familiar with both of Kat Mizera’s incredible hockey series but I have to say, the Royal Protectors are a WHOLE new brand of HOT! I don’t know where Limaj is supposed to be, but if I was single, I would be on the first flight!
We previously met Sandor in The Royal Trilogy (which you must binge if you have not yet). He has been protecting Casey and her son Luke for over a decade and now his life has changed drastically for the second time in his 39 years. The thing that doesn’t change though, is Sandor. He is loyal to a fault, has a strict sense of duty and will always put the needs and safety of the Royal Family ahead of his own. He thinks he has his life figured out. He is devoted to rebuilding his home alongside his family and citizens while keeping everyone safe. What Sandor doesn’t expect, is to fall for the newest member of his security team. Lennox and Sandor don’t start out on the best of terms but it doesn’t take long for a mutual respect to grow. As these two strong, independent bodyguards continue to do their jobs and spend time together the attraction that lies beneath the surface cannot be contained for long. What follows is a love story that will make your heart fill with joy, pound in anticipation, melt from sweetness and stop in suspense, all while causing you, the reader, to become enamored with this beautiful couple. This book is a phenomenal start to a brand new series that is sure to be full of suspense, action, loyalty and most of all, love!
Kat Mizera has stayed true to the Royal Family of Limaj, and OMG, Sandor was everything I’d imagined him to be, and so much more.
In ‘The Nowhere Trilogy’, he had sacrificed his own life for over a decade to protect King Erik’s family in his stead. We had seen his alpha side then and I’d adored him as much as Kat and Erik. In this story, I got to see not only his usual efficient and protective persona, but I loved seeing a different, more vulnerable side of him. While life was just as intense, he had spent the last decade being in another skin that wasn’t his own. I also admired Lennox, who picked up on it as well, acknowledging to him that he had carried such a heavy responsibility for others, for so long, that he didn’t know how to start living a life of his own.
Lennox appealed to me from the word go. She had succeeded in a harsh men’s environment, had got into Special Ops and had seen the worst that humanity could do to another person. She’s just as married to her job as Sandor, and her and Sandor clashed and absolutely sparked of each other, both in indignation as much as lust. Wow, as a reader, I could damn near chew on the atmosphere that Ms Mizera wrote for them!!!
This book is every bit as enjoyable as the series that precedes it, and I loved catching up again with Casey and Erik, as well as their extended family and friends. Especially the Cameo appearances of those Sidewinder’s hockey boys! 5 Stars 👑
Having read Eric and Casey story I was looking forward to seeing how thing would turn out for Sandor after the return of his bestfriend, cousin and now king Eric. Sandor is confused about his role now that Eric has returned and the prime protection of Casey whom he's protected for the last 12 years has been handed over to someone else. Not just anybody else a female to boot, how can she possibly protect Casey and her children as well as Sandor does. Lennox is not just any other female though, she's a bad ass and will do whatever it takes to protect Casey and her family including challenging Sandor to a training session to prove she's as capable as any man. I enjoyed Sandor and Lennox story, they have a lot of chemistry and its nice to see them slowly lower their protective walls and enjoy themselves away from their jobs. Having read previous books I had already been introduced to a lot of the other characters in the book also, and it was interesting seeing how things changed now that Eric was back in Casey life. I'm not sure how easy I would have found the book to read had I not already read the previous books (especially as this is classed as book 1 in a series) because although explained throughout the book the dynamics between Eric, Casey their extended family and the history of the past 12 years is quite complex.

I received a complimentary ARC - early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This is a brand new series for the author and stars a bunch of bodyguards to the royal family. This story is different in that Sandor is not just a bodyguard but he is also a prince. And the heroine, Lennox works with Sandor, and he is also kinda her boss too.
It is a new series but also is in the world that the author wrote a trilogy for, the Nowhere trilogy that she wrote in 2019 which spanned about 12-13 years. I did not read that trilogy, and this story stands alone though Sandor is introduced in that Trilogy and a lot of the characters in this story were featured in that trilogy.
To be honest this story has a bit of insta-love/lust. At first Sandor and Lennox do NOT like each other, He does not trust her as he has no history with her and does not know her. And she thinks he is an epic jerk. But as they work together and learn to trust each other, they move very fast in deepening their attraction to each other.
I really enjoyed it and I loved Sandor and Lennox is one tough cookie who is perfect for Sandor. This promises to be a really great series and I cannot wait for the next bodyguard story.
I’m so excited about this author having people fall in love in their late 30s!! Everyone’s writing about find my love in their mid teens to 20s but I applaud this author for having mature people taking the plunge. Sander is of royal blood, a prince, and a bodyguard. He has been protecting Casey, the future queen and Luke the future heir for 10 years until they are reunited with Erik the King. Lennox is brought on the team to guard Casey and that doesn’t fly with Sandor because he is supposed to vet all of the people coming into contact with the royal family. so from the first meeting Sandor and Lennox butt heads. But that all changes when they challenge each other and Lennox kicks his a%$ all over the mat. He gains a a new respect for her and her abilities to guard the royal family. They move past their love-hate relationship more into a mutual respect for each other and then ultimately develop more intense feelings for each other. But it’s not all roses because there is still unrest in the country they are trying to rebuild. There is attempted murder, kidnapping plots and overall corruption. Will Sandor and Lennox be able to be together without causing a distraction? I can’t wait for book two in this trilogy!!
I just finished Sandor: Royal Protectors Book 1 by Kat Mizera. This is the story of Sandor and Lennox. Sandor is a member of the royal family of a small European country and also the head of the security for the royal family, Lennox is a badass woman who is a new member of the security force. Being a woman in security is hard enough and now Lennox has to prove her worth to a man she is extremely attracted to. Sandor has spent so long protecting his cousin, the King and along with his wife and children he hasn’t had much time for a personal life. Now Lennox is here and so very tempting. Sandor now must decide if he can balance protecting his King and having a life he never thought he could have with Lennox. I truly enjoyed this book. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters and the different storyline involving a Royal. While this book can be read as a stand-alone I really felt like I needed to go back and read the series before this which tells the story of King Eric and Queen Casey. There were references that I believe will be explained in The Royal Trilogy. I fully intend to do that now.
With each new book from Kat Mizera I read gets better & better. Sandor is a fantastic read which pulled out quite a few emotions out of me. See, he doesn't make it easy to imprint on him for a cool minute, as he had some issues which had me wishing I could choke him out in my rage. He's not only on protective detail for the Royal Family in a small European country, but cousin & best friend of the King, and also a Prince himself. He doesn't like the spotlight, but at this time in his life, he has no choice. Lennox is a newer member on his team, so he's basically her boss, and they don't exactly like each other whatsoever. She's a bad a** in her own right, and I absolutely LOVED her so much. At first, they are so entertaining with their antagonistic interactions, but as they spend more & more time together, they start thawing towards each other, which starts the sparks flying in a new direction. How does it all pan out? You'll have to actually hit your one click button to find out, as there's so much more goodness to be experienced! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
