Some missions need a personal touch.

After learning a race of telepathic aliens was behind her transformation into a Robus, Captain Kira Elsar wants answers.

As the only person to have successfully communicated with the aliens, Kira is the best person to learn their enemy’s true intentions. Embarking on a daring recon mission places Kira and her team in the greatest danger they have ever faced, but there’s no time to play it safe. The aliens are gearing up for a sinister power play, and Kira’s home system—the Elvar Trinary—is ground zero.

Kira must try to get inside the mind of the enemy to stop the attack before it begins. Except, Kira is part of the aliens’ master plan, and every action she takes may be playing directly into their hands.

Offensive is the third installment in the Mindspace series, a space opera set in the Cadicle universe—perfect for fans of sci-fi with superhuman abilities, political intrigue, military action, and devious aliens. Continue the adventure today!

I'd like to preface this by saying that I really liked the first 2 books in the series but this one fell really flat for me. It just seemed very....off. Kira seemed different and not in a character developing kind of way. I was not a fan of the AI add on. I don't think it added to the story at all and in fact is probably a big part of why I didn't like Kira as much in this book. The Trols (kind of a lame name imho) were not much of a scary, intimidating or even really big deal in this book. Without their human hosts and collaborators, they were...meh. And the way they were defeated at the end was extremely anti-climactic. For me, if it wasn't for Ellen's part of the story I may not have liked this book much at all. Her side arc on Mysar was interesting and I'd actually like more of that story. There is one more book in the series (I guess maybe we actually get some real answers about why everything has happened) and I will read it because I at least want to see what happens.

Overall though, very disappointing read considering how much I've liked all the other books I've read by Ms. DuBoff.

The offensive continues in book three. Kira and company are off to find where the aliens are based and they find more than they expected. The tension is still high as the plot follows the action in several different locations. Having the same cast of main characters makes it easy to keep up with the world building and back story. This can stand alone but is best if you read in order. Again one problem is solved but a bigger one is on the horizon. Book 4 looks to be as danger and tension filled as the previous three.

Good fun read

A change of pace in this series, a softer, more relaxed, fun part of the story. Kira is still trying to control her mutation, and is joined with an AI named Jessica, who helps calm her when she starts to change. Thus, we learn some personal things about Kira. This is my kind of book, focused more on the characters than the battles. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

Great sci fi adventure

The world building is good, the characters are likeable and given more time than the action in this installment, and the story is engrossing. The touch of romance is sweet, and the humor offers a breather from the serious bits. All in all, I recommend this series.

Explosive!

Kira amps up her abilities, pushing herself to save her system. The whole team needs to work together and civilians help as well, in order to defeat the threat. They win, but for how long?

What are those voices?

Beware of the voices. Likable characters. Interesting plot. Good guys vs the bad guys with a bit of romance on the side.

By far one of my favorite new series in the Cadicle universe! Amy is a fantastic, and incredibly talented writer! I couldn't put this book down! The characters are so enthralling, and draw you into the story! Great dialog and action, keeps you on the edge of your seat! I highly recommend checking this series out, and reading the main Cadicle series for background on this one!
