This is more a rant than a review.. I do not understand why some reviewers have to tell the story on the book, instead of giving a honest review of the quality of the writing and / or how engaging the writer is in his/her own style.
Most people do not want to know if the hero does 20 meter high jumps and id impervious to EM pulse. That is not the intent of a review, at least not in my understanding.
What (I believe) most people want to know is if the book moves at a good pace, if the writer makes or not mistakes using the metric system (saying that a 3 mt by 4 mt is a small room, or that it is huge for instance), or if the plot is engaging and satisfying.
Please, reviewers, keep the 'spoilers' out of your reviews.. Just say why you like it or hate it.
Now my review.. This series moves at a very decent pace, I love that each installment on itself is a good story and that the next book on the series builds on it, not on a cliffhanger left on the previous book.. I hate it, really hate it when writers do that, people cliffhanger are chapter separators, not book endings.
A. K. Duboff does a great job building on the Cadicle Universe, but if you have not read the original series, does not matter, you can still enjoy this series very much, that is the signature of a great writer.
