I am part of this authors advance team and this is an honest review.

This is the second book in this series of four very hard core characters in another action packed story that grabs you from page one and doesn’t let you go until the end. I enjoyed this story but I would have preferred if it was longer. It ended too quickly for me. I really enjoy the interaction of the characters and it all ended way too fast. But if you are looking for a fast read grab this.

An action packed thriller with an excellent storyline and outstanding characters. The second book in the Investigators Series contains murder, suspense, intrigue, and plenty of action. A quick read that was very enjoyable and highly recommended. Always looking forward to anything written by Dan Ames.

Great quick read, the short story format reduces the depth of the story but it remained entertaining. Love the introduction of Neagley and the crew into this series. Reacher even makes an appearance, albeit as a dog.

Dan Ames does it again. Game Over is a great fun little read. If you like Reacher then you must try this series as well as his other Reacher related series where you get to meet people who are mentioned in various books by Lee Child. It is like an expansion of the world where Reacher lives and it makes you stand the wait for the next book. I really recommend this book and must thank the author for letting me read them in advance. Keep up the good work. By the way I found an old podcast where I could here you speak about your writing. Great fun.

Game Over - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Dan Ames' expertly-crafted story is of a very deadly 'game' indeed. Game Over is set in the Reacher Universe and brings together plot and counter-plot, some familiar characters - ex-army military police officers now P.I.s, (who worked with Reacher), Frances Neagley and Dave O'Donnell, I.T. expert Ed Chavez and manager Karla Dixon, who together comprise the professional (civilian) partnership,
Jack Reacher's Special Investigators.

Not familiar, but nevertheless important to the plot are: a deadly assassin, who works for exorbitant fees, two other agents of a covert and corrupt Government unit, who are not whom they purport to be, even when alone and their 'puppet masters' who hide in plain sight in the corridors of power. As you can imagine, the body count - and the excitement - soon rise exponentially, as each villain tries to manipulate (or dispose of), those in his or her power.
Meanwhile, the 'good guys' must risk torture, lies, the loss of former comrades and much skulduggery afoot, while trying to separate the innocent from the guilty, trying to complete their quest for the truth.

Jack Reacher would definitely be proud of his team and you'll love Dan Ames' Game Over too, as it will make you forget all about your Covid-19 fears and Lockdown Blues, as you buckle up for a wild ride en route to the team's achieving justice where it's due, just as Teacher always does.

Game over. Dan Ames

A group of elite special investigators former MP'S. They all have one thing in common. They worked for Jack Reacher. One of their own is brutally murdered. He was a solo private eye in Boston who had fallen on hard times. An addiction. Booze. A Boston Homicide detective with ties to one of the investigators said he worked on cold cases and other cases viewed as strange like conspiracy ones. They viewed him as kind of a nut case. Turns out he wasn't. In an operation in the middle east a convoy is ambushed. They were transporting prisoners. Military contractors. Two manage to escape. A male and female who closely resemble MP'S killed in the ambush. They have something of high value also being transported. An elaborate com is set up to eliminate the brutally murdered detective who was getting too close to them. As it turns out, the con man gets conned trying to eliminate loose ends. Murder mystery solved. An extremely fast and enjoyable read!!

I received a review copy from the author at my request and this is my honest opinion. Game Over is another great read from Dan Ames in the world of Jack Reacher. This series is based on the special investigations team that Reacher lead while in the military. The characters are top of the line military without being caricatures, there's plenty of action, and it is long enough to be interesting but not so much that it can consume the reader's life. Just what I needed here in the middle of the holidays when I'm so busy I don't my head from a hole in the ground!! I highly recommend this series and the other Jack Reacher series (Tallon and Pauling) when you are looking for something to give you a break from everyday stresses, but you don't want something that requires total immersion and concentration. I love these books and can't wait to read the next one. I suggest you do the same.

Another thriller with lots of action and plenty of twists to keep you guessing as to who the actual bad guys are. Once you start reading, you won't want to put it down until you get to the conclusion. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to the next book involving the Special Investigators.

Short and Sweet!

It was a good story, short and sweet. Just one of a small set of books I've read that was kind of quick. Look into the death of a friend was a great beginning. Slowly the plot thickens with literally all the bad guys taking each other out. No real confrontation between the main characters and them. Good story, but not a great work of creative writing..

Lots of action with Jack Reacher’s old crew getting together to find a couple of killers who have a secret mission to complete. Several twists I didn’t see coming. Fast, easy read with a quick finish. ENJOY!

Ames doesn’t use many words, and this is a little choppy in my estimation.
It takes a little to piece together what is happening, not my kind of story. I like it when you start and are grabbed right away. So, in my estimation this was a so so read. 4

book (novella?) 2 of the series, taking Reacher's former Special Investigators on another case. Worth reading, I've already started the next one.
