The Fall and the Chain is the story of Daniel Cross, a Templar agent featured in the present day sections of Assassin's creed Revelations and Ac3. This is his first appearance and his origin. It is a pretty sad story about a man having to deal with his destiny and the bleeding effect of the Animus.
It's also the story of Nicolai Orelov, a Russian assassin that also appears in Assassin's Creed Chronicles in Russia. Although it focuses more on the present day stuff it is a solid story on both frontiers.
The art is detailed and pretty to look at and the pacing keeps you reading. This can be read by nongamers too but they'll have some gaps from the present day lore. Highly recommended for fans!
Really well written back-story for Daniel Cross, I wish I'd had this when I played AC3, it does a really good job of fleshing out the villain of the modern day era.
4.5* for an Assassin's Creed fan, won't make much sense to those who aren't.
The Ubisoft team can do plenty of amazing work, from Altair to Ezio to Desmond Miles and all in between. They capture not only worlds history but the American experience most often starts as the Immigrant expierence from every facet from the Native Americans to the English to the Templars and everywhere in between they have all of history to borrow for inspiration. I think a bad ass story would be Sun Tzu showing his art of worlds real world applications. I'd even watch a WWII with Assassin's and Templars on both sides of the conflict. I like seeing people's perceptions change make a Nazi Assassin who doesn't believe in the ideology but must remain undercover because of the certain political climate in those day's. He saves lives when he can without jeopardizing his mission to get pieces of eden and to free his family from one of the concentration camps. I also like the idea of a Black Cross who kills Assassin's and Templars alike. He hunts down traitors and sometimes makes allies of enemies. He is an Anti-hero. A bad ass Anti-hero.
o ritmo é bem lento no começo, mas quando chega no segundo volume fica MT FODA Daniel cross no quadrinho mais gostoso q no jogo, e mt mais problemático tbm
This is a comic that tells the story of Templar agent Daniel Cross (from Revelations and Assassin's Creed III) and his ancestor Nikolai Orelov (from Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia). This is, succinctly put, a tragedy. Daniel's madness is well realized and makes for a really good story. If you're interested in Assassin's Creed comics, then this is definitely worth checking out.
I played “Chronicles: Russia,” beat it a lot of times, and am very happy. Before I started reading on this day, I concentrated by listening to its version of “Ezio’s Family,” and I was very immersed. I hope to read the other one from the Vietnam War. I am very excited and currently nerding out, so I’ll be on my way to prepare myself to read the next book on my list.
Pretty awesome. Really loved the fact that it is about Daniel Cross, really great character. Was quite sad at times. What did disappoint me a lil bit is that it left some questions unanswered, but I did fully enjoy it nonetheless.
