Things quickly become burdensome between work and her busy home life—watching out for her father and her cousin's three children who have come to stay. When Manny Hertzler, the older brother of one of her students, comes to her with concerns for his sister's welfare, Helen believes she has failed at her job, but Manny is kind and encouraging, and after a while, they become close. However, Helen's father is not so accepting of Manny, and there seems no way for them to be together. Helen must put her own wishes aside and do as her father asks, but her heart is leading her elsewhere.
I enjoyed the book. Helen took on the task of keeping her dad's home after her mother's death. She took on a new job and a new position in her home with no thought of herself. She tried hard to help her niece and nephrew. In the end God had a wonderful surprise for her.
This book had great potential, but it didn't make it. Helen was used by her cousin and her father. The minute you start to get into the story, it ends abruptly as if she didn't know what else to write. I'm so disappointed with this book. The author could have done a lot better.
A sweet story of a Father and daughter finding their way after the mom 's passing. They help a relative who is ill by taking in their 3 children. Grab a cup of tea or two and enjoy.
Great story. This is about a young girl who started teaching school. She then takes on the task of her cousins three children. Read about her hardships and the great ending.
Pleasant reading, causing you to look at your own feelings. Young adults to old people like me will enjoy it. Thought provoking with an insight into Amish school teachers
This was a very touching well written novel with a great ending. The characters were real and the story line was realistic. I would highly recommend this outstanding novel!
