When you’re in love with your best friend, life is complicated.

When he’s also your stepbrother, it’s a nightmare.

Jane’s apparently a magnet for chaos.

Because now she’s agreed to tutor her stepbrother’s enemy, and that sexy bad boy might have a thing for her. She might also love that a tingle surrounds her soul whenever he’s close.

Throw his two brothers into the mix, dangerous rivals looking to destroy every one of them, and parents controlling her love life. It’s safe to say she’s wandered into the apocalypse.

At least being torn between four hot guys isn’t the end of the world.

Just kidding. It totally is.

But they’ll all realize something.

Jane’s the ruler of her life. No one else.

Long live the queen . . . and her kings.

*strong language, sexual assault, sex, stepbrother romance, reverse harem romance.
Guaranteed HEA. No Cliffhanger*

Jane's Team is an alternate reality for Janie Marie's Gods & Monsters trilogy. While this is a standalone, efforts were made to bring extra smiles for established G&M readers. If you'd like to meet the gang in their original reality, that series is available. Still, the Gods & Monsters trilogy is not a prerequisite to read and enjoy Jane's Team.

Janie Marie is a wife and mother of three. She devotes her time to her family and her characters. She enjoys entertaining her readers by giving them glimpses of their favorite characters outside of the worlds she brought them to life in.

Very different than any reverse harem I have ever read!

I’m a bit conflicted about this book. At this point I’m not quite sure what to write so I guess I will break this up into sections and see if that works out for me. First of all, the author states in the title and the blurb that this is a Bizzaro Universe/Alternate reality to her Gods and Monsters Trilogy, which I have not read. So I am not exactly sure how much the relationships in this book are driven by the relationships in those books. I read this as it’s own stand-alone which the blurb also stated it was.

Background Plot/Summary and Characters

The main character in this book is Jane Mortaime who moved into a new neighborhood when she was five years old. She was a Daddy’s girl and she liked to watch the neighborhood boys play football. There was David Leodegrance, who was her neighbor on one side, who she thought was the “bestest” ever. But she also like to watch some of the neighbors on the other. The Godson’s had a house full of boys, but her Father noticed that she liked to watch Ryder the most, as well as his twin Tercero and older brother Luc.

Jane’s father died while she was still very young and she soon became best friends with David. David and Ryder became the fiercest of rivals and by freshman year were fighting for the same position on the football team. Jane and David were falling in Love and she took up David’s side in the rivalry especially when Ryder was able to take away David’s spot on the team that he had played the last few years.

David was devastated and to make it worse, David’s Dad, whom Jane also thought of as a second father, told her that he was marrying her mother and that David would become her stepbrother. He had no idea that Jane and David had been falling in love with each other over the past few years and they were heartbroken.

Fast forward three years later to senior year and Jane is still madly in love with David. David has been dating some football cheerleaders especially one specific girl that used to torment Jane. Jane is pretty certain David has been intimate with this girl. She is hurt that he is able to get over her when she is not able to get over him.

Jane ends up having to tutor Ryder and finds out that Ryder isn’t the evil bad boy she has always thought him to be. It seems Ryder has always held a torch for her and unlike David, he has waited for her to be ready for him. However after David sees that Ryder is interested, he finally comes clean about his love and things start to get complicated.

What I Liked

The stepbrother angle in this book was a really good one. In most cases where the two main characters are step siblings, there is way too much angst about it when the characters don’t even meet until they are nearly adults and they are only step siblings for a short time. In this case, Jane and David have known each other since they were kids and have slowly been falling in love from the ages of 5-14. However, fact that they are step siblings from the time that they are 14-17 and have bedrooms separated by only a bathroom makes being together extremely angst worthy. Especially since the parents don’t know about their love.

I loved the humor in this book. Ryder especially was extremely funny and often said the most hilarious things. Jane’s stepdad became furious and banned her from seeing him and after that, the way Ryder would talk to him was just classic. He would call him old man, and tease him in the worst ways. Just the things that would come out of his mouth. He would be one of those people that is just fun to be around Because you would be laughing all the time.

What I Didn’t Like

All reverse harem romances are different. This one was really different in that Jane didn’t feel the same about each of the guys. I just can’t see how that would work. I can see how you can love more than one person and how you can even love them differently. But they kept saying that Ryder was her number one and he basically made the rules. David was definitely number two. It seems like Tercero was number three and Luc was last.

This wasn’t just some sort of power order in the relationship, this also seemed to be in her affections as well. So I guess I just didn’t get it. Plus who could continue to love someone that loved someone else more? I mean that would cause a bunch of feelings of animosity, pain and resentment. I would think anyway. So that was my biggest complaint. I hope this isn’t considered a spoiler. It might not even be true, but it was the feeling I got from the book!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

Let’s be clear that I couldn’t even get halfway through the book before I quit. I was so excited for this to go to kindle unlimited today, but alas I’m left dissatisfied and disappointed. Now that we got that sorted out, I’m going to go ahead and list a few reasons why I did and did not like the book.

Positives?

I mostly did like Ryder and how he was with her.

Negatives?
Buckle down people cause even within the first couple of chapters I have a lot to discuss.

1. The girl had no personality, from what she was talking about the first couple of chapters all I understood was that she watched people practice ‘football’ because her crush played it. Like ok? Don’t you have anything better to do?

2. This girl develops feelings for the first guy that looks at her or talks to her kindly. Let me explain. She knew all of Ryders brothers all this time and never even gave a second thought about them. The second she is alone with the other brothers she starts to feel something...that too only after a conversation!

3. The reason she liked the Tercero (is this how you spell his name) is because he resembled Ryder and he was quite, then she tries to convince everyone that no I like him for him whilst shaming the other girl he liked who like Ryder and only got with Tercero because he resembled Ryder. Like girl, you are literally doing the same thing!

4. All the event happen within a day or two. Let me explain. Day 1- David and her argue about something really dumb tbh and reveal their feelings for each other (he got with other people because you guys were NOT together! He didn’t know about your feelings etc), Day 2- Ryder and her have their tuition session but don’t study and decide to instead go to eat but don’t? and have sex in the car park because fuck public decency etc. All this time she was crying to him about David and saying I’m not doing it to spite David bit cause I want to...which let’s be real she’s not and everyone knows it even Ryder and he’s ok with it?
Still Day 2- she comes back from getting fucked, still sore whatnot, Tercero is waiting for her, Ryder leaves cause Football practice. They talk a bit about her weird situation, he offers advice, she feels something for him, they nearly kiss. She goes to have a bath and David comes in (wheres the lock?) they have an argument...again. She finds out something, texts Ryder and Tercero to stay away from her (dumb)
Day 3- everyone knows she’s had sex and there’s a big game so big bro Luc comes to help her avoid the judgement by making her his girl and inviting her along to the game as his ‘Queen’. Like you could have stayed home? It’s not that big of a deal? She gets upset cause David did what she wanted him to do and tried to move on, after game boys are pissed yada yada. Luc kisses her...Tercero gets her off and Ryder and David come to an agreement. Point is...this is too fast! Like how do you even know what the fuck is going on as a reader, it’s all so messy, the timing is just off.

5. The girl is super Winey and just acts like a child. She cries over everything and anything and my worst pet peeve is that she calls herself a hoe. Like girl chill, it’s not that deep.

6. The best friend and other side characters are not even established properly from the start. Her best friend only pops up a hand full of times in the first half, plus other side characters are there as extras to react to the scene. Like the moment when Luc was going to drive away with her after the game and one of the brothers (not part of the harem) made a joke about the situation and was going to hand her Ryders underwear and she goes something along the lines of ‘how do you know I’m not wearing it?’ Then all the rest of the boys (part of the team? Not really mentioned) start laughing.

7. For a teenage girl, her behaviour is weird. She’s ok with people knowing that she’s doing her step brother and she’s had sex with Ryder and also going out Ryders brother. Any teenage girl would be mortified about things like this especially how it may affect her reputation or how her parents will view her as.

I went ahead and skipped to the end to see if I’d like it more if I knew what was coming and I didn’t.

I know it seems as though I hate RH but I actually love a well written one. This just ain’t it for me. I just don’t understand how this book has so many positive reviews already. Sorry if this review offended anyone, but this is how I feel and I don’t think anyone can change it.

3.5 stars for this one

I enjoyed this one & it was definitely a yummy, filthy read. My favourite character was definitely Ryder. He is all the things that I love in a high school hero. Dirty & dominant with a soft side only the heroine gets to see. I will say that I did have some moments where I felt like I lost my way in the story. The tense felt a little off to me but not enough of a problem that I couldn't enjoy the characters & their path to their version of a HEA.

Jane had loved four of the boys since she was five. She could not choose between them, so in the end she became a girlfriend to all of them. Each of the boys brought something different for her.

I've been following Janie Marie for years, I'm totally addicted to her writing and will fangirl over anything she puts out! This book was no exception to that, I have been reading the Wattpad version since the first day she posted the blurb/chapter one. It can be read as a standalone, but it's so much better if you have read her other books as this book highlights the past world’s characters in a new way.

It's just phenomenal to put it simply. Of course, you have a reverse harem, which is one of my favorite tropes and it also has the coming to age vibe. Our main character, Janie, is very relatable I think to our younger teenage selves as she is battling with fighting to have whats she wants and what others might think of her life and decisions. Her boys...man I'm just speechless (it's not hard to be with them). They are just perfect in each of their own ways. I absolutely love Ryder, so he is definitely King Daddy. But I love the others as well and their relationship with Janie.

Overall this book is wonderful bliss, like Janie’s other works. I totally recommend jumping into it when you have a long moment cause you won't be able to put it down!

This book was such an unexpectedly deep and refreshingly beautiful love story. It had everything I could have possibly wanted. There was a back story that was filled with rich emotional history. There was a feeling both of love lost, lost found, love fought for, and love won. I very rarely say this, but this title like a few rare others is one that I wish I could close and open again and have it be like a was reading for the first time. It’s that rare book that you want to just have that amazing feeling of first consuming. It’s just that wonderful.

I haven’t read this author before. I really enjoyed the relationships that Jane has with each of the four h’s. Very different with each and she is the common denominator holding them all together. Lots of drama and some heartbreaking moments. A bit angsty, but not overly so. Super steamy times!

*possible spoilers* *triggers for sexual assault*

I really freaking loved this book. It is long which I think is great, it’s got drama and it’s got lots of steamy romance. Jane is a high school girl who grew up in a house between lots of boys. To one side is David. To her he is and always has been Mr. Perfect and her best friend. They both have loved each other for forever. Her father died in an accident when she’s five and then her mom later marries David’s dad. So when David becomes her stepbrother they have to love each in secret from everyone and each other. To the other side lives Ryder. He is the ultimate bad boy and her feelings for him are dislike because he butts heads with David in everything. Luc is Ryder’s older brother who Jane can’t really figure out but he has grows a spot in her heart. Tercero is a quadruplet with Ryder (Archer and Savas are the other quadruplets) who is Ryder’s closest look a like. When she finally sees him he brings her calm and understanding that she needs so bad. It all starts when she accepts to tutor Ryder so he can get his grades up and can get his spot back on the football team from David. Jane starts to see a new side to Ryder and they develop a connection. She learns he has a sweet side just for her and that he has loved her greatly for forever. He has saved all of his firsts for her and quickly becomes her rock and basically her everything. David gets a wake up call from Ryder and Jane’s connection. He starts to actually fight for their love and more. Luc and Tercero step in to help her with David and Ryder but to also earn their spots in her heart. Jane battles with finding herself, her courage, gaining friends, keeping all of her harem of guys and love. They struggle with her mom and David’s dad accepting their relationship. Then there is some jerk, Dylan, determined to break her all out of spite for Ryder and David. All four guys are there for her to hold her and help her through their journey.
Ryder was and is my favorite the whole time. I rooted for her to end up with just him. David just wasn’t enough for her to me. Luc and Tercero felt more like background support for her. Even though Tercero got in on the sexy times. This book gives you all kinds of feelings. Jane seemed a bit immature, fueled on too many hormones and selfish sometimes but I did like her. She’s a very likable character. The ending. Oh my goodness. It left me mind blown, kinda confused and needing some answers or explaining. It was still a good ending because it was still a happily ever after. I would definitely read this book again and again.

The fmc in this is so screwed up but the way her guys speak of her and hold her above all others is awe inspiring.

Before I start this review let me state a few facts about Jane's Team... If you are not a fan of Reverse Harem romances where the woman is the main focus and she has a group of infatuated men surrounding her and doing all sorts of kinky shit to her, you are not going to like this novel. If you are opposed to high school romances with loads of scorching sexy time scenes, you are not going to like this novel.

Jane's Team by Janie Marie is a MATURE YA/NA novel. I'm fairly new to the Reverse Harem trope, So far I'm on the fence about whether I like this trope or not. I love the jealousy aspect, but I like a little realism to my romances and this trope tends to make the story lack something that I haven't quite figured out yet.

This novel jumps back and forth between Jane, Ryder, David, Luc, and Tercero's point of view. But mostly throughout the novel we are given Jane's point of view. This is one main element I loved about this novel. I loved being inside the guys' heads and getting their viewpoints, feeling their jealousy and their rage was exactly how I would imagine this type of trope turning out, especially given the fact that Jane's two leading men (Ryder and David) are complete enemies.

Throughout the novel a bond starts to take place between the men.. no not a kinky bond.... but a brotherhood. They set their jealousy aside and they play the role they are given. David is Jane's sun and her heart. Ryder is her moon and her soul. In a weird way the bond between the three is touching and tugged at my heartstrings.

And then you add in Luc (older brother to Ryder) and Tercero (younger brother to Ryder) and it's a complete cluster mess of kink and WTF moments...... Luc brought the dark and mystery to the relationship and Tercero brought the emotion to the table... I loved how Tercero was with Jane, let's talk about this latin lover. The way he spoke to her and the way he was with her made him one of my favorite characters in this novel... To be honest, I really wanted more one on one moments between these two.

Luc was an annoyance to me, I wanted to uncover more of this man... I wanted to see what makes him tic, why he's so controlling, and why he has this darkness surrounding around him. I wanted and needed more and because of this I couldn't connect with his character. He was just a kinky bastard hitching along for the ride.

This is such a confusing novel to digest and write a review for. On one hand I really enjoyed this novel. I mean, a person doesn't just sit there reading a novel for two days straight rueing the moments she has to put her kindle down so she can go to the restroom, cook dinner, and adult. But then on the other hand I was annoyed by a few aspects. First of all, I would have been a tad bit more comfortable if these 'High schoolers' were in college. Often at times I like to put myself in the characters shoes and I think *what would happen if I would have been in these situations when I was a kid or a teenager.* I'm telling you what, if my man would have talked to my daddy the way Ryder talked to Jane's stepdad.... There would be trouble and my man wouldn't be my man anymore. The disrespect really unhinged me. I didn't like the fact that the stepdad was painted in a bad light for half of this novel, he was just watching out for his daughter. He was doing what a father figure needs to do and protect her at all costs. I mean any normal father figure would freak the hell out over his daughter dating four guys at once. Shoot, I was scared to bring one guy home to meet my daddy.... you don't mess with a papa bear... that's for damn sure.

A lot of this story was a bit too far fetched for my liking. But I do have to say, I am intrigued by epilogue number two. It was interesting when all was said and done to realize this story was an alternate universe to her Gods & Monsters series. I think this is what intrigued me the most! I'm definitely going to have to check this series

Overall, This novel was an okay read. There were moments I loved and moments that made me cringe. The sexy time scenes were scorching hot and the characters were, for the most part, loveable. Jane's Team is an extremely long read though, so make sure you have time to read this one because once you start you aren't going to want to stop. Janie Marie has a way with words. She captured my attention from the beginning. I just needed a little bit more from Luc and bit less drama.

I must say every book that Janie puts out astounds me. The book has every element that would anyone laugh or cry. The writing itself is fantastic and seeing Janie grow as a writer from Gods & Monsters #1 proves how much she has improved in her storytelling. The books chapters are never dull...you have comedy, romance, and adventure in every page. It is filled with love and the epilogues tied the entire book together. The nod to Gods and Monsters truly made me scream in excitement. You will never feel as the chapters draw out because every moment is an important moment to Janies life and gives the characters more depth. Overall I give this book 5/5 stars because the characters, the plot, the writing, and the world Janie has built will take your breathe every time.

I'v been reading Janie's work for a few year now and have quickly fallen in love with the Gods & Monsters universe, her boy's- men and Jane. Jane's Team, can be read as a stand alone, but I would recommend reading the trilogy first so you can understand her love for them all and the second epilogue.

The story has a coming of age vibe, and deals with young love. Jane, our main character, is relatable to teens and young adult readers, as she fights for what she wants and believes in; being with her four men she loves, dealing with judgmental parents and society.

I love a reverse harem and this just exceeded my expectations! being able to watch these characters grow and become comfortable in themselves and their relationships, not only with Jane, but with each other was an incredible journey. i loved seeing 17 and 18 year olds being showed as having REAL adult feelings and talking through them, because so many times people think young adults aren’t capable of that and it was so refreshing.

I also loved the epilogue that showed the future because not many reverse harem books do that so you’re kind of left wondering what actually happens.

overall an amazing read and would highly recommend.

After reading the whole God's & Monsters series, this book just makes complete sense. You could read it as a stand alone book and it would still make sense in a way. I definitely do recommend though to read the whole series before reading this one, as everything will fall into place and make more sense to you if you're new to this world of Janie Marie.

I don't often read 'highschool romance' novels but anything written by Janie Marie is definitely a high recommendation for me. I can't wait to add the physical copy to my bookshelf with the rest of her books.

So I went into this story with an open mind, but a deeper understanding for the characters from knowing their souls in Janie Marie's Gods and Monsters trilogy. This reverse Harem sucked me in right away. From a gorgeous step brother to a family of panty dropping hotties next door, I couldn't have asked for more...besides having all of them for myself😅 A really good book will allow your imagination to feel the characters souls and connect in so many ways, and that's exactly what happened here. I related and connected and fell in love with some of these characters and found myself painstakingly angry with a few only to experience for myself their redemption. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and flirty and oh so sexually tantalizing story❤

Even though Janie Marie is a new author for me, I was excited to read this book since reverse harem's are a hot trend right now. Unfortunately, this book is going in the 'What did I just read?!' column. Nobody has ever accused me of being a prude and I applaud everyone's sexual freedoms but this book was uncomfortable to read for so many reasons but mostly because a seventeen year old virgin should not be the subject of this type of book. Additionally, the smut was so extreme that's it's scary that this book is the being marketed as YA. Not only did I refuse to finish reading this book, I refuse to endorse it to anyone for purchase. This author is on the never read again pile for sure.

I received a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

I love Reverse Harem Romances. When I saw this book, I just knew I had to read it.

Jane is a girl who's in love with her best friend. And that best friend soon becomes a stepbrother.
But he's not the only boy in her life, there are three more. She's tutoring one and feels safe with the other two.
One morning, when she's trying to wake up her stepbrother, changes everything. There are no boundaries left, there is no holding back, there's love, lust and yes - a lot of anger.

I think this would have been way better for me, if I'd actually read the other books in a Gods & Monsters trilogy first. But I can not recommend it highly enough to a reader who adores a good Reverse Harem romance with plenty of sexy sceenes.

This book was provided to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I think I've never read a more smutty read and somehow I was quite fine with it even if there wasn't that much of a storyline.

Writing style: I don't know what I liked about it, but there was just something very nice about Marie's writing. I'm definitely considering reading her other books.

Characters: There was so much going on with the cast of characters. There were a lot of people with a lot of different personalities and names that I didn't quite remember throughout the whole book 😂 Ryder and David were very interesting, because Ryder was such an ass to everyone but then very sweet to Jane and David was such a perfect angel and then very possive and rough with Jane... It created a very interesting dynamic.

Story: I started this review saying that there wasn't much of a story but now that I'm writing this part of my review I realized that's not true... Jane's relationship with her mom and step-dad are explored. Her romantic relationship with Ryden, David, Tercero and Luc were thoroughly explored. And then we have choas all around which results in Jane changing schools and finding her way around that. There's also the part where she's abducted twice and almost raped... Yeah, not a book for the faint of heart.

Reverse harem: This month (March 2020) I suddenly became interested in reverse harem novels. The first one I read wasn't very impressive, but I still enjoyed reading it. The second book was an absolute disaster and I had to DNF it. Jane's Team has a very tastefully done reverse harem romance and though it was a little strange to read about a polyamorous relationship because I can never see myself in such a relationship, but it wasn't disgusting or distasteful. Marie made it feel so normal and I loved that.

Market: I'm not sure what market this book falls in? The main characters are all teenagers but this is definitely not a YA novel, there's just no way. The sex and violence is waaaay too graphic. I'm going to put it under new adult I guess...

I'll stop talking now 😂 This book just really made me think about some stuff. I'm giving it three and a half stars, because I really did enjoy myself, but there was a lot missing to make it a good story worthy of 4 stars of more.

Content warnings: almost rape (twice), polyamorous relationship, smut, violence

I Knew going into this book that it was a "spin-off" of the God's and Monster books. It was a 'what if' this was in a different world, and different scenario book, and let me tell you it made it all the more fun and funny. Let me start off by saying you do not have to have read the original series to read this book, but it does make it a more fun read if you have. In this version Jane is trying to understand how she can have feelings for multiple guys. Take a ride as Jane tries to handle all of her suitors.....This is one steamy read that you won't regret.

Ladies and Gents, she did it again! Janie Marie created yet another story that I fell in-love with for numerous reasons.
If you like stories with yummy guys, steamy smut scenes, bromances, silly scenes that make you giggle, and characters you can find yourself relating to, then this is the book for you!

Also, if you often find yourself torn between which male character you love more and want them all, then you're REALLY going to love this story because...

***SPOILER***

She gets them all!

Cannot wait for the book to hit my Kindle library. I originally read this book as the author was writing it on Wattpad.

I really enjoyed the story line and the characters. The author did a great job get the story across and developing the characters throughout the story.

I just finished reading the Wattpad version last night and I’m already itching for some more. I can’t wait to hold the paperback in my hands and add that beauty onto my shelf with the rest of my Janie Marie book collection. This is a reverse harem that can be read as a stand-alone book or in addition to the rest of the G&M realm. It does make some of the hinted lines easier to understand if you’ve read the other G&M books but it’s also very easy to follow along without previously reading the other books. Anyone who’s interested in seeing one girl with four men all trying to win her heart is going to love this book. It’s got all of the things to make you flush.

I’ve also read the Arc and now I have the published copy. Time to go read the fully published steamy beauty!

I love rh books. I love high school romance novels. This book should have had my name written all over it. Instead I couldn’t make myself finish it. I’m going to try my best to make this review spoiler free. Here we go.

There is no story building. We know almost nothing about the main character. She was so unremarkable that even though I literally switched from the kindle app to this one to review it I can’t remember her name. What does she like? Dislike? Want to be when she grows up? What’s she good at? I couldn’t tell you any of these answers because they aren’t in the book.

So much is crammed into the shortest period of time. She goes from her first kiss with one guy to sex with a second and an orgasm with a third and wanting to get it on with a fourth. And as far as I can tell she only likes the fourth guy because he looks like one of the other guys, because it says she has never spoken to him before.

A lot of the writing is really weird. I made it 22% through the book and there were at least four sentences that I had to go back and read through because it was written in such a convoluted way I couldn’t understand what they were trying to say. Here’s an example. “Kinda wanted to replay what he related from you in the closest place I can get from you.” What high schooler talks like that?

One of the guys calls one of the others a “fag”, which really bothers me. And the main character calls herself a hoe, slut and whore on what feels like every page. And her guys say she is acting or a whore severaL times. I just can’t get behind this book, and quite frankly I’m amazed that it has such high ratings.

Loved this story of how a girl discovered that it is ok to love more than one guy, even though it is a little unusual. I do like books that focus on the fact that unusual lifestyles are ok and it was fun reading about Jane finding her way and also discovering herself whilst being supported by those she chose to surround herself with. There were a few serious issues which were developed in this story and I thought they were navigated really well. The final chapter tied into the Gods & Monsters trilogy which I will now be reading as this book being an alternative reality has definitely piqued my interest.

I need to start this off by saying I've never read a book by this author before.
This is an alternate reality book from her Gods and Monsters series.
It's the same characters just in a different world and setting.
However, you can understand the book without having read the series.
The only part I found confusing was the epilogue where it brings the two worlds together.
I don't want to give too much away, but I will say I enjoyed it.
I do think many people would enjoy it a lot more if you've read the Gods and Monsters.

When Jane was young, she moved into a house between two adorable little boys.
One of those boys had several brothers as well.
In the beginning, they were all friends until her life was flipped upside down.

This is a pretty fast-paced story though in the beginning it does start off a little slow.
Mainly because it is setting up the scenery and background of the characters.

And this isn't your typical reverse harem.
At least, it didn't feel like it to me.
Two of the members are not really intimate with her in the story.
I'm not sure if this ties into the other reality or what exactly.
And one of the guys felt like her favorite.
Like she could drop the others and be okay.
But that wasn't any issue with me.
I just wasn't sure during some of the parts if this was actually going to be a reverse harem story.

I will say that I struggled in the beginning with getting into the story, but ended up really liking it.
But then the ending got me confused.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story.
I think I'll have to go and read the series of Gods and Monsters so I can get to know these characters a little better and understand them a bit more.
I would recommend it.

This was my first book by this author I believe, and I picked this book at random from goodreads. I just wanted to try something a little different.

I have mixed feelings about this book overall though.
My major issue? I did NOT like the female main character. I found her boring. I dislike when people fake interests in things to impress their crush.. so her constantly "watching" football so she can "watch her crush," just annoyed me. Not mention.. she seemed to whine a lot.. or maybe that's just how her personality worked. I don't know. I just found it hard to get through this book or like her even a tiniest bit.
Another con - the side characters. The author didn't seem to put a whole lot of time or thought into these side characters. And to be honest, most of the time, the side characters can be just as important as the main characters.

So I was a tad disappointed. Especially because this was a longer book.
