This book is the perfect example proving that tweens, teens, and young adults are not too young to get involved in today's most important social issues by becoming activists. The leaders highlighted in this book are both well known (Malala, Greta Thunberg, Ryan White, and Anne Frank) and not so well known (at least to me) (Claudette Colvin, Jesse Martin, and Xiuhtexcatl Roske-Martinez). I was surprised to read that many of the youth biographed here are Muslims (mainly female).

Each one page biography has a full page colored illustration of the activist's face along with their birth and death dates (if applicable), their nationality, and their activism role. At the end of each biography is a quote and a hypothetical situation where the reader will find out how the activist would respond to. The book ends with a small survey where the reader answers a series of MC questions to find out which activist they would relate to, a great timeline of those in the book and an index.

A fast and must read for both youth and adults. Great role models for youth and adults alike.

I loved the variety of this text. I thought the portraits were gorgeous. The brief biographies were insightful and invited me to want to research more. I definitely think this text is one I'll return to when working on an activism unit for my students next year.

I found this book in a Capital Books catalog last year and just recently bought it. I loved this book. The illustrations were amazing. This book is seriously under rated.
