This was one of my favorite books in about 5th grade. The thought of getting mail and corresponding back and forth to a friend on a regular basis was intoxicating! My friend and I decide to try to write our own book in a similar fashion, we would take turns writing the letters to each other. I wonder what happened to those - I saved everything else. I got the book from a used book seller a couple of years ago when my daughter was 12, but she wasn't interested. I re-read it and the overall story wasn't quite as intriguing for an adult.
