This book is really nice with cutouts on each page of different continents and then you turn the page and you have to find different numbers of animals that live on each continent. The illustrations are great. I'm not sure a board book is the correct format-maybe older toddlers could do it?
This remarkable board book shares with readers animals from every continent. Starting with a die cut of an animal from the chosen continent, the reader can see a page of animals peeking through the die cut. On the back of the die cut page, there is a list of animals for readers to find on the next page. All of the animals depicted come from the chosen continent. Each continent is covered along with the oceans. A map at the end shows where each of the animals is found. Not only is the book a fun way to learn about animals around the world, but it's a great searching activity as well. The book would make an enjoyable one-on-one activity as well.
This book takes you around the world with a peek at animals through a cut-out, then the option to seek-and-find animals on a larger page. I also like that the last pages' spread showed a map of the world with where the different animals are located that were in previous pages. This is a nice introduction to early geography, habitats and provide a challenge for pre-readers to locate a number of different wildlife.
This book tells you about where different animals live. I think it's cool to know where they live. Behind the cutout of the animal you can see other animals. When you turn the page, it is a look-and-find. It has shapes of animals that live in that place and then a number to tell you how many of that kind of animal you can find. Little kids will really learn more about animals and the look-and-find is fun for all kids. (review by Isaac, 4th grade)
This title is much better that the last one I read in this series, entitled Paper Peak Colors. The animals to find in this title are easier to locate because of the contrasting colors of each animal the child is to find. That being said I continue to feel this title is not for the typical age Board book child of birth to three.
4.5 stars So much fun. It did take my 4.5yo two sit times to get through it, but a great book for finding things, counting, geography, animals, and such. Very impressive
