Sound Patterns: Sequential Sight-Reading in the Choral Classroom Student Edition, Book 1 by Emily Crocker | Choral Sheet Music | Sight Singing Method with Songs & Piano Accompaniment
Sound Sequential Sight-Reading in the Choral Classroom - Student Edition by Emily Crocker is a choral sheet music collection that presents a sequential approach to developing sight-singing through engaging musical selections and carefully organized practice material. Created for choir directors, classroom music educators, school choirs, and singers, this edition encourages learning through performing “real music” from the very first lessons while reinforcing essential music-reading concepts in a practical and enjoyable way.
This edition includes original songs with complete lyrics, dynamics, piano accompaniment, and preparatory exercises that support each new concept as it is introduced. The musical sequence focuses on the keys of C, F, and G major while exploring basic rhythms and simple intervals built from the tonic, dominant, and subdominant chords. Standard music notation is used throughout, and no online resources or bonus digital content are included with this edition.
By combining authentic musical experiences with progressive reading exercises, this collection helps singers strengthen music literacy while maintaining the enjoyment of singing complete musical works. Rather than relying only on isolated drills, each concept is reinforced through memorable repertoire that promotes confidence, musical awareness, rhythmic accuracy, and ensemble participation. The carefully organized progression allows new concepts to build naturally on previous material, creating a cohesive learning experience that supports long-term musical growth.
