I chose Tiny Tattoos: Over 1,000 Small Inspirational Artworks from the library shelf on a whim and found it useful in two ways. Firstly, it gave me one genuinely appealing idea for a small tattoo. Secondly, it made me aware of a risk I hadn't thought of before. The book is a thematically structured compendium of small tattoo designs and seeing them all together made me realise how easily one might accidentally get tattooed with clipart. For some this may be no problem, but I certainly would not want to be reminded of powerpoint presentations past by ink on my body. Moreover, can you imagine microsoft forcing you to pay for a perpetual office subscription so you can wear their clipart on your skin? I certainly can and it would be a real drag.

As well as the tattoo designs, the book features a few short interviews with tattoo artists (quite repetitive) and a guide to pain levels in different tattoo locations. Apparently the ear and inner thigh are most painful and the forearm least. All my tattoos are allegedly in 'high pain' areas; I think the experience must depend a lot on the individual. Although I struggled to understand the appeal of certain designs, especially the louse, each to their own. If you've been thinking that, say, your inner forearm looks too bare, Tiny Tattoos: Over 1,000 Small Inspirational Artworks can provide some helpful suggestions.

Great book for people that are interested in tattoos and would like to learn more about.

It’s not an advanced book or full of specialized information, so I wouldn’t recommend this if you searching for a in-depth manual/reference book but perfect for people searching for ideas for their first tattoo or someone that would like a reference source for small tattoos.

As I have several tattoos and did extensive research at the time, I personally didn’t find a lot of new information but still really liked the book and will for sure use it in the future for reference when planning my next small tattoo.

Additionally, the interviews with tattoo artists is a great touch, even if the interviews seem a tad repetitive.

Tiny tattoos - very trendy right now as a concept. Social media is a huge part of this and the tattoo artists that are featured in this book are sure to be tagged with their instagram name. Thought this book was very cute and put several ideas into one place, which can be helpful. I honestly picked it up for drawing inspiration. Quick and easy doodles to learn to draw that are super cutie. The majority of the images are minimalistic, easy to learn, and appealing to a large audience. I would definitely say this book is 100% inspired by social media trends, and tiny tattoos are definitely trendy right now.

The subject matter intrigued me so I decided to borrow this from my library, upon reading most of the ideas were your generic Instagram tattoo inspiration with a few good exceptions.
