Meet the Winter boys – Todd, Tommy and Troy. Can these triplets each find their happily ever after?

Todd lives in Northern Ontario and works as an adventure guide, aided by his best friend Smokey the malamute. It’s his dream job, and life is pretty good until a deep winter tour brings five executives, including Todd’s ex, to his neck of the woods.

Simon is working the job of a lifetime, but he’s living in a big city where he knows very few people and he’s lonely. On top of that, one of his co-workers has made his work environment less than comfortable. The last thing he wants to do is spend time in the northern wilderness with four of his fellow executives, including the man who clearly doesn’t like him. When he discovers that their guide for this ill-advised bonding exercise is his ex, it feels like the universe is playing a cruel joke.

Forced proximity helps both Todd and Simon remember why they were together in the first place, but the things that saw them ending their relationship are still factors. They’ll have to find a solution that works for both of them if they have any hope of getting their happy ending.

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and persuing the kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to "Chicago."

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He'll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

I can’t help but feel a little... well a lot disappointed by this book.
On paper it’s everything I should love. Second chances, not too much angst, snow, amazing family dynamics... you get it.

However...

The writing/editing is very poor. I had to go back and reading sentences so many times that I lost count just because I didn’t get it. The constant change of perspective was exhausting.

They way Simon (or was it Todd? Or both?) kept calling himself/themselves for slut during sex was also very disturbing. It was used in a way that wasn’t positive.

This was quite disappointing.
The blurb promised a cute second chance romance in a wilderness setting, but there really is only a flimsy excuse of a plot as a frame for a drawn out piece of soft porn.
First chapter is meeting Todd's family for the triplets birthday party, which was somewhat charming but had zero connection to the rest of the story. Second chapter started the story quite promising with the scheduled group ariving for their trip including Todd's ex and a whole lot of tension between the coworkers.
But then the trip is cut short and only Simon stays behind to weather an imcoming storm with Todd in a two man tent. They spend it having nonstop sex, which lasted for about 17% of the story on my reader. I started skimming pages after the first round when cheesy porn dialogue kept repeating itself. Two pages for hiking back to base and then it's sex in the shower. Two pages for "I never stopped loving you and let's do long distance at least" and then Simon is back at his shitty job, they skype and have phone sex. Two pages for Simon visiting Todd again and - you guessed it - they have sex. So sorry for all the spoilers. I will let you keep guessing about the ending ;)
Not a series I wanna continue.

Triplet in the backwoods

Michael's exploration of the middle triplet Todd told primarily from his backwoods home and tour business is filled with him finding the carnal delights as he reconnects with his ex-lover Simon. Pushing up on thirty, these men have orgasms galore as the past fades into a HEA.

Todd is the middle of triplets. He runs an outdoor adventure. His next group includes his former boyfriend. Both are surprised and soon realize that the desire and love are still there. This is an enjoyable read but just fun.

Likeable characters and a decent story. A bit much sex for my tastes but I skimmed past those bits.

I like how this was a couple who cared about each other but got off track when they couldn't figure out how to meet both of their dreams. The reality of the story is that if both of them had been really happy in living their lives they still wouldn't have been able to make it work no matter how much they cared. What worked is one person isn't as happy as he though he would be. Taking a chance and figuring out how to adjust and merge those dreams is what this second chance is all about.

This was a 3.5 for me but I rounded up cause I love this author. Classic Sean Michael. I, personally gravitate toward his kinkier stuff and this is more vanilla than many but it’s pure sexy M/M romance
