The design and décor of the Adirondacks are forever linked to our modern idea of vacation living and outdoor relaxation. But they are also home to a rich interior design style focused on handcrafted furniture and rustic accessories. cabins to great camps and everything in between, rustic expert Ralph Kylloe leads a personal tour of fifteen Adirondack homes, including boathouses, riverside cabins, and grand historical great camps such as Top Ridge. He also explores a variety of interpretations of the Adirondack style--from traditional to contemporary--and includes a detailed resource section that facilitates re-creating the Adirondack look in any region of the country. Ralph Kylloe is the foremost authority on rustic furniture and owner of the Ralph Kylloe Gallery at Lake George in New York's Adirondack Mountains. He is the author of thirteen previous books, including Cabins and Camps, Rustic Artistry for the Home, The Rustic Cabin, Rustic Traditions, Rustic Furniture Makers, and Fly Fishing the Great Western Rivers.
Ok, Mr Kylloe’s conversational style is a little goofy, and the last “gallery” section could have benefited from better editing and layout, but the sheer number of examples of lake houses and complexes was really impressive. Nice idea book so you can imagine what parts of Adirondack style might fit your own setting and style.
