About the author

Keiichi Arawi (あらゐ けいいち, Arawi Keiichi) is a Japanese manga artist and illustrator.
Arawi was born in the prefecture of Gunma in 1977. He started his comics career at age 19 and for about a decade he published short stories. His series Nichijou, a slice of life comedy manga, was first serialised between 2006 and 2015 in the magazine 'Shonen Ace', and collected in ten volumes. In 2011 Nichijou was adapted into a 26-episode anime directed by Tatsuya Ishihara, now considered a cult. From 2016 to 2021 Arawi worked on the comedy manga CITY. In 2022 he resumed the serialisation of Nichijou, as well as starting a new strip called Amemiya-san.

Return once again to the charming, mind-bending, always unpredictable world of life in the big CITY.

And we do. This series has been one of my favorites since I finished Nichijou and thought, "what else is like THIS out there?" Arawi came through and saved manga for me.

One of my favorite bits of this volume was Nagumo talking about "let's tell scary stories that aren't scary." I wish, if anything, that could've been expanded upon because that was rife for comedy. Especially given the wacky nature of this series.

Niikura's midnight eating habits were hilarious, but something I think we all tried once or twice? I damn near peed myself when she was describing how she ate.

The thing I love so much about this series is how strange everything is, but how it's grounded in reality as well. It's off the wall, but not into fantasy territory.

I’m pretty miffed I couldn’t get my hands on vol 6. I’ve had this volume for so long I might as well read out of order and regret it later. First few chapters still have me in stitches. The absurd irony is too great for my humor to stand. I buckle like a seatbelt. City’s hilarious no matter the circumstance it seems. Well done!

Top knotch humor guys. I can’t help smile at nearly every skit.

Somebody likes this series -- it's getting Goodreads ratings in the 4's. But it does nothing for me. This was my last volume and I won't be looking for more.
