Eric and Jane Lawson present a unique treatment of the air actions of World War I as a single grand campaign, with both sides striving for mastery using new technology and new tactics.
A really detailed look at the evolution of aerial warfare in the earliest days of flight, just 11-15 years after the Wright Brothers first flight. Every book I have read about WWI focuses on the ground war and the politics involved or the navel battles. This book, being exclusively about the aircraft and pilots involved was a real treat for me. Plenty of statistics as well as well written narrative and biographies of people involved as well as charts and maps. A great reference book as well as a very good read!
