A lot can happen in 10 years, and Gwen and Craig have been there for each other through it all, from meeting on the playground to juggling college finals. But their long-standing friendship hasn't been without its challenges.

Gwen keeps her emotions locked down tight, and when someone hurts her, she shuts down and shuts them out. Craig has always been her hero, but when one night leaves her broken, she realizes he has the power to hurt her the most.

Unable to get past Gwen's emotional barriers, Craig focuses on baseball and reaching for his dreams, but he misses his best friend. He wonders if he'll ever have the same relationship he did with the girl he met ten years ago.

When the barriers finally come down and their true feelings are revealed, will they finally become the couple everyone says they're destined to be, or will the darkness from Gwen's past tear them apart forever?

Baseball!!!!! I’m so ready for baseball season to start that I jumped at the chance to read this book.

This is my first book by Bethany Lopez, and my first book in this series. I was a little worried that I would be a little lost since this is book 5, but it was definitely a stand alone.

From page one, I was hooked. The book starts out when Gwen and Craig were children with how they met and bounces through time. This both worked and didn’t work for me. There were a few times that it did, but others that it was a little intrusive. Example: There was a scene where Craig and his brother walked in and Craig was wearing a particular jacket. That jacket brought back a particularly bad memory for Gwen and the flashback worked. But there were some others that didn’t transition quite as well for me. In some ways, I wish it had just bounced through time chronologically. Age 10, age 13, age 18, age 20. But this wasn’t a huge issue since the overall story was good.

I enjoyed the friendship between Gwen and Craig and their path to a romantic relationship. Gwen could be frustrating at times, especially regarding the events surrounding why she stopped talking to Craig.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it made me curious about some of the other couples. I’ll definitely go back and read their books. :)

My favorite part:
“The girl loves you, that’s as plain as her love for her camera, but she fears rejection. Abandonment. You need to prove to her that you’re going to stick.”

Brock watched me for a moment, as if making sure that what he said had penetrated, then he turned to leave me.
He stopped, looked over his shoulder, and grinned wickedly.

“Oh yeah, and if you break her heart, I’ll bury you.” <--- My favorite line of the book!

I really liked the blurb and the story (up to a point - which I will tell in a bit).
The premise was really interesting and the execution was really good. It captivated me so much that I almost forgo sleep (again!). The main characters were a perfect fit for each other. I wouldn't change a thing.
Craig (H) and Gwen (h) had been friends since they were 10 years old.
Their friendship was disrupted due to an incident
It was further shattered Gwen, who had been hurt when she was a little girl, coped the only way she knew how ... by shutting herself and distancing herself from the source of hurt aka Craig. So for the next few years afterwards, their friendship was non existent; with Craig wondering what happened, what did he do wrong and at the same time, with Gwen refusing any contact with her old friend.

It was good until it wasn't; that's when the couple had finally reconciled. It was glorious.
Afterwards, there was nothing else to explore and I couldn't understand what the rest of the 60 over pages were for, for they did not provide any interesting story or plot. Nothing. So hence me docking the 2 stars.

Audiobook review:

I listened to the audio of 10 Years by Bethany Lopez and absolutely loved it. Honey St. Dennis did an absolutely amazing job bringing Craig and Gwen to life in their emotional and charming story. We have seen them throughout the previous 4 books in the series but had no idea how heartbreaking and heartwarming their journey would be.

Craig and Gwen met when they were 10 years old. Craig is Cal’s younger brother (8 weeks) and Gabby’s younger sister (42 Hours) and have been inseparable best friends ever since. They have always been there for each other and their friends. But before starting college, Gwen pulled away and barely acknowledges Craig and he has no idea why. Can he break down the barriers between them or is it too late?

Gwen was caring and kind, but also kept so much of herself buried. How could she give anyone the chance to hurt her? Craig was sweet, kind, and protective. He was determined to breakthrough to Gwen and find the future he always dreamed of sharing with her. Can he do it or is too late? 10 Years was an emotional read with so many feels. I loved the families and friendships in this series and highly recommend it!

Happy listening!

4 stars!

I have read all the books in this series and was really excited to finally get Gwen (h) and Craig's (H) story. I was so curious about them since I read 42 hours. Well I wasn't disappointed. I love how their story develops and jumps from the time they met, to present day and even in between. It was easy to follow and not at all confusing. The story switches POV's between the H and h so you get a good idea what both are thinking and feeling.

Gwen and Craig meet when they are ten and pretty much become best friends after, they are together all the time tagging along with their older siblings. As the years go by their friendship becomes stronger and stronger. When one night changes everything for Gwen, Craig tries to be there for her. He tries to protect and fight for her. Gwen closes herself off but still remains friends with Craig until once again one night changes everything for her and she shuts him out too.

I have to say Bethany handled "the scene" wonderfully, it could have been much more cringe worthy...it was, don't get me wrong but I got the emotion and the point without it being too much. I wanted a little more emotion though not to the scene particularly but with Gwen I wanted to feel what she went through and to me that was lacking just a little. After reading though I realized I didn't feel that emotion because she didn't let herself feel it either.

Craig what a sweetheart...poor guy had no clue why Gwen was so closed off. He loved her so much and just wanted to make things right but whenever he tried she would just push him away. He focused on baseball to keep his mind off of her.

I loved how they kept visiting family and friends together because they didn't want to disrupt the group. And I think it was their way of keeping close without admitting to it.

If you haven't read my review for 15 minutes I loved Brock (H) and he made a few appearances in this book. I love his and Gwen's relationship! All in all a great book.

I recommend.

Wow!!! Gwen and Craig story was absolutely amazing, I love how we learned how they first met. And how we saw the big milestones through the ages. I love when an author shows the past and present to see how everything has changed. Gwen and Craig love story you can say it began when they met at the age 10. It was great to see the gang and how much they where included in everything just like the beginning of series. This is a great group of friends that has turned into a family.

Gwen and Craig have been childhood friends ever since meeting each other when their older siblings hang out together. However events in Gwen's life has caused her to turn into someone who tends to bottle up her feelings when she gets hurt and distance herself from those who hurts her. Will they ever realize their love for each other in time,or will Gwen always keep Craig away?

The story of Gwen & Craig’s relationship is one that has lasted 10 years from the first impromptu meeting in a park thanks to their siblings. Since then their friendship from their playground days to college life has gone through sooo much and one that they were able to work out together until that one frat party changes things.

Gwen tends to keep certain things to herself to the point where it started affecting the closeness she has with Craig. His future goals entail baseball in hopes that he can reach his dreams of making it big thanks to the company and ongoing cheering team from his best friend. However, playing the field are not the same when Gwen starts acting differently and pulls away from him and he does not understand why.

“I’ve loved you for ten years, and nothing will ever change that.”

I enjoy this 4 stars reading about long-term friendships and how over time things happen and people grow up and whether to see if time can truly test them. Needless to say in Gwen and Craig’s story…years have past and they both have feelings for more with one another but something is holding them back. Their story is more than just the typical breaking of their friendship if things turn bad it is that if walls are not broken down it can be driven to despair. With out revealing anything I will note that some scenes can affect the faint of heart, which in turn will either make or break the long-term friendship. Pick up a copy today and check out the emotional feels 10 years can bring about.

My review responses on Audible:
"A story that will test the time of friendship..."

Would you try another book from Bethany Lopez and/or Honey St. Dennis?
I have been a fan of Bethany Lopez's books for some time now and will continue to read and/or listen to anything she writes.

As for the performance by Honey St. Dennis it would depend on the story she is narrating. As my first time listening to her it was not one that I could fully get into.

What didn’t you like about Honey St. Dennis’s performance?
I am not a fan of this narration. The flow of the story felt somewhat rush, sounded the same throughout the read, and did not give me any feels when listening to a story being told. For this particular book I had preferred reading it on my own.

In this lovely friends to lovers romance, Gwen and Craig have known each other for 10 years and have shared a secret attraction for each other that was only acted upon once when Craig was drunk, resulting in Gwen cutting him out of her life from the emotional devastation of realizing he didn't remember what for her was a pivotal moment in their relationship. But they've shared so much over the years that she is finally willing to open up to him again. Will Craig be worthy of her trust and in return will Gwen open up her whole heart to him?

I really loved this story. Told in present day and flashbacks to pivotal moments in their friendships and from both points of view, it captures exactly the feelings and emotions of two people as their feelings change from friendship to love. As well, it deals with the trauma of an event in Gwen's past that has affected her since her teenage years. Though this trauma is serious, it is dealt with in the story in a gentle way so as to make the reader empathize with Gwen's plight without too much angst. Craig and Gwen are both wonderful real characters with their history playing a large part in their current relationship. When they finally admit to the strong feelings they have for each other, it's not without first coming to terms with their past. The love scenes between them are sexy and emotional as they admit that what they both want is a future together. The secondary characters play a big part in the story and the circle of friends and family they belong with add to the dynamics and plot of the story. It was interesting to see these characters through the eyes of Gwen and Craig who are the youngest of the group. 5 stars for this warm, emotional and touching romance.

10 years is about Gwen and Craig, they met 10 years ago while hanging out with their siblings and had been best friends ever since. That is until something happens and Gwen shuts herself down, until she is forced to figure out her feels they cannot be friends or so she thinks.
This is the first book in the Time for Love series that I have read and after reading it I know want to go and read the rest, to learn about all the characters I met in this book. This book was wonderfully written and I could not put it down. Thankfully it was a short read that I was able to read it in one sitting. I think the length of the book was just perfect; it wasn’t too short or too long.
This was such a great group of friends and I wish I read the previous books so I could have known more about them. They seemed to all care so much about each other, family by choice and not by blood (well some of them by blood).
Now let me get to Gwen and Craig! They were both so perfect. I understand where Gwen is coming from by shutting down the way she does. It all stems from one thing in her past and I am so glad it was mentioned in the book, even though it was before Craig and Gwen met. Also it was so adorable how they met and young Craig was such a little charmer! Craig had such a huge heart and never understood why Gwen shut him out when all he wanted to do was be there for her.
There are some scenes in this book where I would say that this is for mature young adult readers. With that warning I would completely recommend this book to them and any New Adult fans!

Bethany Lopez's 10 Years is the story of finding lost love and finally accepting true feelings. Gwen and Craig have been best friends since the time they met at a playground. They faced life and its ups and downs while they held hands with each other. They have remained each other’s strength. They have seen it all, fought it all, and survived it all.

One fateful night when they finally decided to act upon their attraction, Gwen realized one thing: Craig can hurt her emotionally. This is the one thing she cannot allow; her past had taught her this lesson. Craig forgets what happened because he was drunk and when Gwen pushed him away, he put all his energy into following his passion: baseball.

But he misses Gwen and her friendship. The walls around her heart are the only things keeping him out of her life and he has had enough. They know each other’s heart and soul and now Craig is finally ready to fight for her and make her his. Will Gwen allow that, or will she let her past win and her heart fail?

Bethany Lopez has once again worked her magic with 10 Years. This new novel in her Time for Love series can be read as a standalone and you will love it. This simple, yet beautiful story of love and acceptance will turn you around. Both Gwen and Craig love each other and the reader can feel that, even from the time they were teenagers. You can also understand Gwen's dilemma and the angst that it created. Overall, it is a great story to keep in your collection, especially when you want to smile because of a really good story.

Another 5-star read in the Time For Love series!! I could not wait for Craig & Gwen’s story! We met these two in the earlier books of this series. I had a feeling they were going to be fabulous together – and I was right. I absolutely devoured this book – it was amazing! It involved very delicate subject matter and the author wrote about it perfectly.

I loved how the story was written. We get glimpses into the past; we can see how they became friends, we followed their journey and witnessed their love for each other grow. Craig is absolutely perfect – he’s charming, kind-hearted, protective, and let’s not forget sexy. Gwen is a sweet, beautiful soul who is guarded and hides her feelings – she believes it’s easier & safer that way. I forgot to mention that Craig is also determined… to crash through and break down her walls.

I love a book with FEELS – and this book has them. I had to message Bethany after I was finished to tell her how much I loved Craig & Gwen’s story and how a certain part of the book made me cry – it was a powerful moment in the story. Great writing!

Bethany is amazing at creating wonderful characters and making you fall in love with them! They are so believable and real, you just want to crawl inside the pages and be a part of the story. 10 Years is yet another fabulous read that I highly recommend. <3

I give 10 Years 3.75 stars

I liked this book. A sweet story about two people who loved each other since they were 10 years old. Hopefully, 10 years later, they'll finally figure their stuff out.

If you've followed the Time for Love Series, each book follows a different couple, but they all hang out and support each other so you're able to catch up with each couple in each book.

Craig and Gwen's story was frustrating to read. Two stubborn people. One who wants to talk and the other who vowed to keep it all hidden. Makes for a good story!

I would have given this book 4 stars, but what kept me from doing so was the alternating past and present chapters between the two characters. One view in the past. Another view in the past. One view in the present. Another view in the present. Repeat. I didn't care for it. I don't mind reading flashbacks throughout a book, but this was a bit much for me. I kept waiting for the chapters to be in the present so the characters could move forward.

This was a good book. And if you can get past the alternating chapters for past and present, then I would highly recommend reading this book.

I won this book on February 3rd here on goodreads.com. I really enjoyed the way that the back story was sprinkled throughout the present day storyline so that it helped you get a clearer picture of things without having to do it all at the beginning and then expecting us to try and remember as thing come up. Although in most cases it can be kind of annoying when a story jumps back and forth between characters in this one the story is told in a way that you don't mind because although it jumps between Gwen and Craig it continues almost as if there are no missing bits and when there are you don't really miss them.
I loved how real and believable both Gwen and Craig are in this story. You see that Gwen has been through a lot and it's because of this that she has so much trouble talking to the love of her life Craig even when she wants to. Although Gwen has known since they met 10 years ago it took Craig a bit longer and now that he does know it's driving him nuts that she still doesn't want to talk to him after what ever happened 4 years ago, but at least now there's a chance that things might work out for them and that's good.

Craig and Gwen, readers have seen these two since the first Time For Love book, and now these childhood friends have their own story. Finally. I knew something was going on with these two from hints in their earlier scenes and now I know what happened. And I'm not telling.

Bethany Lopez only makes me love her gang of good friends even more with every addition to the series. Couples paired up earlier are now parents (okay, collective sigh-aww.....) while Craig and Gwen try to patch up their messed up friendship.

Sometimes what is so obvious to others isn't to the person involved. This is Gwen's case. We learn from childhood flashbacks from both main characters just how important these two are to each other. The flashbacks were sweet (most of them) and filled in the picture of the present day predicament. Lopez tackles a topical subject with honesty and brevity.

These two longtime friends have such a special relationship and I'm glad for the opportunity to read about them in 10 Years. Fans of the series will find lots to love. I know I did.

This is book 5 in the time for love series, and for all its book 5 you can easily read this as a stand alone.
This book focuses on Gwen and Craig. The have been best friends since they were 10 years old and in the space of 10 years a lot has happened that has changed their relationship.

We meet Gwen and Craig in this other books as Gwen is Gabby sister and Craig is Cal's brother. There are moments form previous books that involve Gwen and in this book we understand why she acted they way she did to certain things, this is still very much a stand alone book as everything is explained.

This book may have some triggers for some people as it does deal with a rape storyline, but this is none the less yet another brilliant book by Bethany Lopez in this series. It was brilliant to see how two people who have loved each other from such a young age, go through what they did and manage to come togther through it all.

I can not wait to read what book 6 has in store for us!

I received a complimentary e-copy of 10 Years in exchange for an honest review.

I have read the first 4 books in Bethany Lopez's Time For Love series, so of course I wanted to read 10 Years and get caught up to date with the gang, and especially read about Gwen and Craig's story.

The story had a situation in Gwen's life that changed everything for her. The situation was well written so it wasn't super uncomfortable to read about and it really laid the groundwork for the rest of the story.

I loved getting to know both Gwen and Craig better, instead of just knowing them as the younger siblings of the characters that we've already come to know and love, and would absolutely recommend 10 Years and the other 4 books in the series to anyone who loves New Adult romances and series that are built around a gang of friends.

Once I started this book I couldn't put it down!

This was the first book I read in the Time for Love series and I thought it was great. Bethany Lopez does a fantastic job of writing from two different character perspectives and from multiple time points in their history together. Gwen and Craig were truly meant for each other and their story is a great romance, even if they hit a few bumps along the way. What happened to Gwen was terrible, but she is a strong character and with the love and support of her family and most of all Craig, she overcomes her fears. After reading this book, I definitely have to go back and read the first four in the time for love series. Bethany Lopez's writing has a great flow to it and that captivates the reader from the very beginning all the way to the end.

Initial Thoughts: Aww(flashbacks), please don't blame your problems on daddy issues, everyone's having babies.
What I Liked: I loved all the flashbacks from when they were ten all the way till they were 18. I loved seeing how their friendship developed over time. I liked how Gwen had a hobby, because it seems like they never have hobbies in books. I liked how all the characters support and love each other. The pacing was good too.
What I Didn't Like: I had a problem with how fast the romance was, and the situation that happened to Gwen. I wish the romance had the same development as the friendship had in the beginning. There is a trigger warning for rape involved in this book. I don't like the way Gwen handled what happened to her.
Recommendation: I'm iffy on this book, so it's really up to you. A 2.5 stars book.

Interesting read, lots of back and forth between the past and current day.
I read that this was the first book that she put rape into and used it as the pivotal moment to drive the emotional issues of her main heroine, but I didn't think it was done well. Coming from someone who has been through that, I didn't enjoy the way that she explained things to Craig and how the story ended just after it. I felt like it was just used as a backstory that didn't get flushed out or focused on better. It was a plot point. A vehicle to give her purpose to shut out Craig. It felt like a throwaway plotline.
I would have liked to see that done better.

This was such a romantic story. Though at times I was annoyed at the constant flashbacks in time, it all helped develop the story. I enjoy seeing the younger siblings get their chance at love. Gwen and Craig coming together after a tumultuous friendship spanning 10 years is just sigh worthy. There were a few editing errors, but nothing to keep you from enjoying this super romantic story! Seeing the things they over come to get together makes this a great read if you're looking to lose yourself in a book for a day!

10 Years is the fifth book in the Time for Love series by Bethany Lopez. This book was a fabulous addition to this series. Love that we have been able to watch Gwen & Craig grow up throughout this series. You could see them fighting their attraction and knew something serious had happened to come between them. Love that Bethany gave them their own book to work out their issues. Seeing them finally get together and be happy was fabulous to see. Looking forward to more books in this series and more by this author.

Best friends Gwen and Craig can't get it right. There has seemed to be something there between the two of them for awhile but what happens when one wants to just forget about their feelings. Can you really let someone you loved all your life go without giving them a chance? Gwen and Craig will both have to lay everything on the table and see if what they feel is worth it, or will they settle for being just friends?

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE BOOKS. I WISH I HAD A GROUP OF FRIENDS LIKE THESE. THEY HELP EACH OTHER THROUGH THINK AND THIN. OUT OF ALL THE SERIES SO FAR I FOUND THIS ONE THE MOST WELL WRITTEN AS IT TOUCHED ON A SUBJECT THAT IS RARELY SPOKE ABOUT. GWEN IS A STRONG WOMEN WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH A LOT AND STILL TO PUT ON A BRAVE FACE EVERYDAY SHOWS HOW STRONG SHE IS. IN THE END AM GLAD THAT SHE GOT HER HAPPY ENDING.
