The Couple's Workbook: Homework to help love last

Rate this book
Therapeutic exercises to help couples nurture patience, forgiveness, and humor.
Love is not just an emotion - it's a skill. And just like any other skill, we need to practice in order to get good at it.
We often have fairy tale expectations for our romantic relationships, but realistically, after a heady and passion-fueled start, we end up in partnerships that are a confusing tangle of hope, distance, boredom, loyalty, and betrayal.
Full of accessible and though-provoking exercises, this workbook fosters understanding, patience, forgiveness, humor, and resilience in the face of the many hurdles that invariably arise in a long term relationship.
Couples are guided to have particular conversations, analyze their feelings, explain parts of themselves to one another, and undertake rituals that clear the air and help recover hope and passion. The goal is always to unblock channels of feeling and improve communication - and to have fun while doing it.
No one can be intuitively good at relationships. We all need to do some homework to become the best partners and couples we can be.

The School of Life is a global organisation helping people lead more fulfilled lives.

We believe that the journey to finding fulfilment begins with self-knowledge. It is only when we have a sense of who we really are that we can make reliable decisions, particularly around love and work.

Sadly, tools and techniques for developing self-knowledge and finding fulfilment are hard to find – they’re not taught in schools, in universities, or in workplaces. Too many of us go through life without ever really understanding what’s going on in the recesses of our minds.

That’s why we created The School of Life; a resource for helping us understand ourselves, for improving our relationships, our careers and our social lives - as well as for helping us find calm and get more out of our leisure hours. We do this through films, workshops, books and gifts - as well as through a warm and supportive community.

Not sure how serious they're ready to commit? Insecure about the uncertain future facing relationship? Here's your testing stone! I started to seek help from it as reference since the first sign of red flag started to cause pains, we didn't get through the Pledge part. So move right into the next book----Stay or Leave: How to remain in, or end your relationship

Quite an exercise in honesty and rawness that if impartially attempted or pondered over can safe a lot of relationships from turmoil or help them heal.
