Abigail Winslow, the DSA’s latest recruit, is dead.
Unsure of who to trust anymore after learning the truth behind Agent Jacob Grissom’s death, Ben Riley attempts to track down Winslow’s killer without the use of the agency’s resources. Facing a locked room murder, Ben turns to his only suspect for assistance—Cal Cooper, an attorney with a secret.
He sees ghosts—everywhere.
Thrust into a world he refuses to believe in, Ben must evade the danger posed by those beyond the veil and put his faith in a stranger to discover the murderer in their midst.
Unfortunately, Ben’s line of inquiry may have made him the next target.
Nothing can prepare readers for the most riveting chapter of the DSA series yet, as the incredible first season continues.
This is book four of an action/adventure, political intrigue story. The book works well as a stand alone but there is a lot of backstory that I think is missing, so I recommend starting at the beginning.
The story is very well written with lots of action and a complicated plot with lots of intrigue and twists and turns. I can't call it easy to read because keeping track of all the actions and players can get complicated at times, but I found it to be worth the effort. I should point out that there is a strong elements of the paranormal in this book, so if that is not your thing, you might steer clear. For me, this was a fast paced story that grabbed my attention from the start and never let go. I am definitely looking forward to the next book (and maybe some answers, although I feel that is unlikely).
Highly recommended.

I do agree with Zack. Secrets will be the death of you in some cases. But there are times when secrets can save your life. The woman in charge is going to have to take someone into her confidence and soon. If she does not I don't think she will survive. I hope it will be Ben and his group. Ben is having a hard time with all that is going on and Sullivan is not helping. Sullivan is a very bad RAT. Good story but sometimes it can get confusing and leave me with more questions than answers. I hope to be able to make more sense soon. I’m always blown away as each scene is describe in detail and how the interactions are smooth and the conversation are what should be said between characters. This time this isn’t a DSA case, it should be but isn’t. Ben makes contact with an unusual person with an unbelievable ability. Ben has to look over his shoulders not only watching for the DSA but for the person who is vital to solving this unusual case or is it a case. A horror or police drama it your call but this is will not disappoint.
This is a solid entry in the series that continues to drip-feed tantalizing clues about the overarching mystery of the season while introducing a monster-of-the-week that feels just a little like an excuse to set up a spinoff series. The writing is still strong, and there's a certain charm to the titular advocate that makes me think the spinoff series could work, but the obviousness of it was a tad distracting. Metcalf continues to infuriate me by NOT taking the obvious solution to her problems, but other than that, another good read from Mr. Paduano.
Spectral Advocate - DSA Season One, Book Four by Lou Paduano is an awesome story that I have loved reading. This is book number four out of six in this awesome series and I can not wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about Sci- Fi.

Well this one goes in a way you wouldn’t expect and is refreshingly different in that respect. I have to say that this series is growing on me. I really now want to see where it goes from here. Recommended read.
Just when you were comfortable with what is happening in the DSA files, Lou throws in a Ghost talker. Meet Cal a lawyer and someone who sees and can communicate with ghosts. Can Ben get some answers about a gruesome murder he saw? Does he want to know the answer?
I love this series!! It’s like the X-files meets CSI. Ben fights his own past, while Lincoln is out of control. This book shows the more vulnerable side of all the characters of the DSA. Great book, but only makes sense when you’ve read the previous books.
"The young boy woke with a start and raced for the door." So begins this PG13 paranormal mystery about the Department of Special Assignments, which takes a day to read.
