Short and sweet with little steam.
Holt saves a random mans life and for that the guy is greatful and tells him if he wants something. Holt has everything in life but a wife. Not thinking he'll ever see this guy again when he joked he would find him a wife. And when he sees Hattie on his door step angry and upset at him. Hattie poor girl she was just a thank you gift from her mob boss father. Their is a spark and both grab onto it having a steamy night before Hattie says she'll leave first thing in the morning. But that doesn't happen since mother nature said nopee!!
No ow/om drama, no cheating, tiny drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

A short and steamy book with loving characters. I loved the chemistry between Holt and Hattie. Epilogue was cute and funny! I mean 5 kids? triplets and twins? so adorable!

Feeling that something is missing in his life, with no one to share those special moments or laughs except for his dog Jimbo, Holt Hanover thinks it’s time to begin dating again to find someone special to settle down with. He worries about being set in his ways, but figures he will visit town more often and give it a chance. He and Jimbo head out for a walk. He hears a horrible screaming and a hiker runs past him with a swarm of bees close behind – then it gets quiet. Holt goes to check it out and sees the hiker rolling down the hill. He has a broken leg, but Holt calls for a helicopter to get him out of there and keeps talking to him to get him through his pain until the helicopter arrives. The man insists that Holt take payment, but he tells him he has everything. The only thing missing is a wife, he tells him as he laughs. And the man said he could get him one! As he and Jimbo are going home, he laughs the strange experience off – until he answers a knock at the door!
An angry Hattie has been sent to Holt to become the wife he had jokingly asked for! She had a rough life as the daughter of a crime boss and hated her father. She had dreams as a child of her prince saving her – perhaps this handsome mountain man is the one she has been waiting for! When they wake up to a forest fire, she will see exactly the kind of man Holt is when he gets Hattie out of the cabin and runs back in to save Jimbo. He comes out carrying the dog, and then collapses to the ground. Will tragedy bring them closer or tear them apart?
This was a cute story with likable characters. Holt’s kindness to a stranger not only offered him the solution to his loneliness but also a new beginning and a real life for Hattie. Will they be able to form a lasting bond together and find the life they both longed for?

I really enjoyed this story, it's the first book in the Thickwood, Co series, it can be read as a standalone story, no cliffhangers, no cheating...
This story is well-written with an interesting storyline, there is plenty of drama and emotion in this quick to read novella, Hattie is shipped off by her mobster father to marry a complete stranger, she doesn't know if it's her dream come true or a total nightmare. She meets big sexy mountain man, Holt and starts to believe that dreams come true. I really enjoyed Hattie and Holt together, really a wonderful couple.

Needed more character and plot development. Started out good as I loved the idea of the Hero saving a fellow hiker and then that man sending his daughter to be the Hero’s wife as “payment.” However once Hattie gets to Holt’s cabin it’s like 24 hours later and all the conflict between the two is resolved and we are rushed to a HEA. Needed a bit more development of the relationship and of Hattie moving from captive mob princess to independent woman. Didn’t do it for me.

When Holt saves a mans life, he asked he want he wanted money?? Holt said no what he needed was someone to share his life with him. And low and behold a feisty sassy woman comes a knocking at his cabin door whilst he was making his dinner. Holt is shocked to find that the man he saved had sent his daughter Hattie to be his wife. What kind of man would do that and its obvious that said woman was not happy with the plan.
Hattie was going about her business when two of her daddy's men come in telling her to pack as she is going away. They dont tell her why and they wont tell her talk them out of it. Her father is a crime boss and he has never been there for her, to say she hates him is a understatement. Then she finds out what is happening and she is shocked! She always knew her father would get rid of her one day but this is not what she thought would happen. So as she stands at his door getting more and more angry at her life she is shocked when a very sexy man opens the door but that's not going to change a thing.
There is attraction between them both it sizzles but can Holt explain what had happened and who Hattie believe him??? Would they end up married or would Holt let her go???? Could they find true love.

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and original. The characters were interesting and relatable. I had a hard time with Hattie's dad at first, but by the end of the story, I liked him.
Holt lives up in the mountains near Thickwood. One day while hiking, he saves a man’s life. In return, the man promised Holt a bride. He figured the guy didn’t know what he was saying because there's no way he was serious. Holt finds out the man was serious when his daughter shows up at Holt's cabin. He's shocked when she tells him she's been sent to be his wife. Hattie’s a petite curvy thing with copper-red hair and she thinks that this was Holt's plan. Holt explains to her how he met her father and Hattie then has to figure out if she believes Holt or not.
Holt staying calm instead of freaking out when Hattie and her father's men showed up was kind of hilarious. Promised after a fall! OMG mountain man to the rescue. This story is about Holt and Hattie. Holt is the mountain man who loves his outdoors and when he is out with his dog, Jimbo, for a hike, he comes across a man being chased down by bees. After the man drops and rolls down and hurting himself, Holt jumps into action to save him. While he is saving this unknown man, he asks how to repay him if with money or anything he needs, well he just states that he has everything he wants and needs except for a wife, so the unknown man sends him one – his daughter. Hattie is the daughter of a MOB boss and knows that liberty is not in the cards for her. She is a dreamer expecting a knight to show up and rescue her, instead she is ship off to her knight. She learns that in order to feel free she needs to leave her father, but once she thinks she is losing her knight, she realizes that it is the freedom she was asking for. This story has a beautiful ending with a lot of make-up and children!

This story has right amount of everything - drama, family tension, entertaining, humor, passion, steamy, crazy hot and sweet sweet love along with a few surprises. The characters are warm and lovable. Holt has lived on the mountain for awhile and he rescues a man who has injured himself hiking. He wants to repay Holt for his help. He repays him with his daughter, Hattie. Hattie has been a prisoner in her father's house forever and decides she is going to take this opportunity to be away from her controlling father. What will happen - will she leave? Will she stay? Can they come to an agreement? What is that sparkle in her eye? This is a great little read with great characters, great story and I just loved it!

Holt is enjoying a walk in the woods. A man goes running past him. After a few minutes the man falls off the side of the path in the woodd. He helps saw a man from his fall. The man feels he needs to repay him somehow so he promised Holt something anything. Holt says he has everything by a wife. The guy says he'll make it happen. Holt doesn't think any more about it until there is a knock on his door.

Holt was just being himself, and helping some in need. Never did he expect Hattie to be dropped off at his door. Hattie never thought her dad would treat her so carelessly, she felt like a pawn. But ince she got to know Holt she realize she was where she needed to be.
I haven't had a chance to read any of the other books in the Tickwood series, but if they are anything like Promised to the Mountain man I can't wait to spend a day binge reading the entire series.

This is Hattie and Holt's story. Hattie feels trapped in a tower with no escape. One day one of her father's guards comes and gets her and tells her she is getting married. Holt owns a store in Thickwood. He is hiking when he saves a man's life. The man asks Holt what he wants and he jokingly says a wife. Hattie is fiesty, strong willed, and knows what she wants. This is a good fast paced read. There are some steamy scenes in and out of the bedroom. The characters are well developed.

Well written satisfying read
This was a cute story with likable characters. Fate, or a controlling father ;P, set these two on a path that starts off with fab chemistry and ends up with a serious case of love. Yes, this is a romance, but it has some drama, danger, back stories and side characters to make it a full read. The epilogues give it that richness that comes with spying on characters after the HEA. All good fun!

Be careful what you ask for
This book might have a crazy beginning, what with the bees and the joking request for a wife, but when these two characters roll with what life brings them they might just find the best kind of HEA. The author really did a fantastic job of creating these characters and the connection they feel comes right off of the pages. I really enjoyed the entire experience as the author set these two on a path to happiness. I can’t wait to read whatever the author sends my way next.

When someone saves your life naturally you offer to find them a wife right? That wouldn't be my first thought in how to repay someone, but that's what happens here. The fourth installment of this series brings an unrequested arranged marriage that soon turns into insta-love. I especially liked the comedic meeting of the couple, neither one of them understands what's really going on. I wish this book had been full length. I would have loved to have gone more in depth with these characters. However I did enjoy this quick fun read in this novella series.

An entertaining, captivating, and romantic fast pace book four in the Thickwood, CO series! It is well written, witty, funny, interesting, and emotionally deep with endearing characters; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended.

I don't know what's in the water at Thickwood, but I need a few gallons of it! Frankie Love does not disappoint in her contribution to this series. She gives us Holt and Hattie and wow, do they connect! Holt desires a wife, but does not expect to have her delivered to him as repayment for saving a man's life. Hattie has some emotional scars from her upbringing and wishes to take control of her destiny. Little does she know that she has been delivered to the doorstep of her destiny. Great, safe read that I highly recommend!

Talk about romantic! Holt was just minding his business out for a hike with his dog. All of a sudden, a obvious tourist takes a tumble and its Holt to the rescue. To say thank you, the man asks Holt what he wants. Half jokingly, Holt answers with "a wife". The man agrees and Holt is sure he is joking. When Hattie shows up on his doorstep, she is furious. Until she lays eyes on this beautiful mountain man. Holt is serious book boyfriend material, he is such a sweetie. Hattie is open and loving, especially with how she grew up. They are just perfect together. Loved it!

This was a perfect quick read treat. Steamy and sweet seasoned with some drama and intensity, Holt and Hattie's OTT romance is satisfying and swoon worthy. Great for when you are short on time, need a palate cleanser, just want some pure happy or are suffering from a book hangover, this read was just delightful.
