I Stalked Him Back (Love at First Crime #7)

He stalked her from afar for years, so now she’s returning the favor.

I haven’t always been the best person.
I’ve rarely made the right choices.
I have a past that is painful and dark,
One I didn’t think I would survive.
But I was saved.
And finally, after going through hell,
Things are beginning to change.
I’m becoming independent again.
I’m getting stronger.
No one but I can see this.
He certainly can’t.
He’s been stalking me for a long time.
It’s his way of keeping me protected.
And I’ve let him do this.
But now it’s time the tables are turned.
Now it’s time for me to protect him.
I’m about to become the savior,
And I won’t let him down.
I can’t.
Because if I fail, then I’ll lose everything.
Stalking to save a life doesn’t sound ethical…
Then again, as some people say: there is nothing quite like love at first … crime.

I Stalked Him Back is a romantic suspense. Each previous book in this series can be read out of order, however this is the final book and I would recommend having read at least book 6 – I Poisoned Her Coworkers - to get the full scope of this one.

Please note this book ends at approx. 41,000 words (65%-ish). There are bonus epilogues for the previous books in the series, and one for this book, which comes to approx. 20,000 words.

Reader. Author. Book Hoarder. I’m asexual. I believe in human rights. That means BIPOC and LGBT+ people matter and deserve respect and protection. Trans people exist and they deserve every right given to cis people. I believe Palestine should be free and that what is happening to them is genocide. Books are political and if you don’t like hearing that, then you’re likely on the wrong side of history. Sit in your discomfort. Banning books is barbaric and pointless. Strict gun laws save lives. Amplify important and minority voices. Keep reading. Keep learning. Keep trying to do better.

I only have facebook (which I rarely use) and instagram (which I use only slightly more). Any other social media platforms with me on them are impostors.

I Stalked Him Back is book seven in the Love at First Crime series by Jessica Frances. This is the final book in this series and I have to say up front, that Jessica knocked it out of the park with this one. I was blown away. Not only do we get the seventh book, we also get seven, yes seven epilogues, one for each book in the series. The beauty of it is, if you skipped any of the books, then you can skip that particular epilogue so you don’t spoil it. You can just read the epilogues that pertain to the books you have read. For me, that means every single one. Because I’ve loved this series from the start. You can read them as stand alones although the characters all work for the same company and do recur in each book. Books six and seven are fairly closely related though.

Lennox is the heroine of this book and let me tell you, she has finally come into her own. In book six, we learn more of what Lennox went through, the trauma she endured. Now she is stronger, more confident. Jerry, the elusive voice on the phone that no one has ever seen the face that goes with it, has been her salvation. Their daily texts and conversations have been her strength, her healing power. She knows he’s always watching, keeping her safe.

Lennox did a little stalking of her own. She has become obsessed with finding out more about Jerry. Where does he really live, what does he look like? But then, all of a sudden, Jerry is gone. She is told that Jerry needed some time to himself. But she knows that isn’t true. Jerry would never disappear like that. She knows something is wrong.

“I won’t let him down.
I will find him.
And if necessary, I will save him.”

I want to stop here because I don’t want to give anything away. What I do want to say is that Lennox went from being a damaged girl afraid of everything, barely able to function, to being a tough, protective fighter in this book. She’s had enough. The people she loves are being threatened and she’s not going to stand for it. I felt like a proud mama. I was so proud of her.

So first we have Lennox and Jerry’s heart stopping story. And then, we get a look into each and every one of the characters over the seven books lives well into their futures. It was such a sweet walk back through the series, seeing how happy all of these couples were. I even felt my eyes get misty a time or two. What a wonderful way for this author to wrap up the series. I put the book down at the end with a full heart and a smile on my face.

3 Tentative Stars

Lennox who has been introduced in previous books, comes into her own in this book, she hasn’t let all she has endured/suffered drag her down. Without giving the plot away in this she is one tough heroine, who does all she can to protect the people and man she loves.

Whilst I like the main characters, I didn’t really feel Lennox and Jerry as a couple – there was a spark, sense of energy missing.

I have to say I wasn’t in love with this read and found my attention shifting to other things as I read it, for that reason I don’t see myself re-reading this book. I really enjoyed the epilogues and that’s what has pushed this from a 2-star read to a light 3 stars.

I really got to know Lennox in this book, even though she's appearances in previous stories, especially in I Poisoned Her Coworkers (Book 6), so I really wanted more of her. Jessica Frances didn't let me down at all, but I do write this review with mixed emotions. While I LOVE these books, and will NEVER get enough of them, the problem is that this is the end of the road with Love at First Crime series, and I'm sad about that. But I'll get back to that later. Lennox & Jerry were a different type of romance, as it was very very very slow burn, as both have issues that keep them from moving forward easily. But Jerry made Lennox feel safe, even though he had never come face to face with her, so when she thought there could be some issues with him, she didn't even blink at leaving her apartment to find out. And Lawd, the way she went about it had me laughing hard, which isn't a surprise, because Ms. Frances pens these stories with such hysterically funny moments, my stomach ALWAYS ends up hurting after each new book. There are some twists to go along for this ride as well, and those twists wouldn't be complete without some f-bombs dropped. However, at the end of the day, Jerry isn't trying to admit to anything, so what will Lennox do now? You'll have to one click this bad boy to find out. And trust me, you want to because not only is there a great story, but Ms. Frances gives us bonus Epilogues to finish this addictive series on a high note. Again let me say that I didn't want it to end, but I guess all good things much come to an end, and this series is AMAZING! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

10 ⭐️ Final Book

It deserves way more than that. I love that Lennox got her payback, and Jerry (you get his ‘real name’!) got it also. And moving through time for the epilogues like that - I’m not sure I’ve read a series that had this kind of extended, but awesome and lovely ending.

These characters felt so real, so solid, so authentically people, this series (and its brother-series) have shot up into my favorites list.

Thank you, JF! 🤗

absolutely fantastic

This story felt cathartic, healing, and a wonderful way to wrap up such an intense series. Some of the previous stories were really traumatic for the characters, and therefore the readers. This story was fraught with possible trauma too, and Lennox’s history made it so precarious, but I LOVED how she took charge and showed just how unbreakable she really is. Jerry’s own strength and character really came into play, and I loved seeing him grow and face some of his fears.

Ending

Bittersweet ending to a unique series. The first part is Lennox’s story. It’s not really a romance but we do see how far Lennox has come and how strong she is even when she is thrust back into her fears. The second part is extended epilogues for everyone from the POV of the pairing we didn’t see before. It was cute to get some closure and experiences from the other half of each duo. Glad I got to read this series.

I can’t even imagine a more perfect finale to this series. The entire Love At First Crime series has been such a beloved journey for me. I’ve fallen in love with every single character and every book feels like coming home when I pick them up. Jessica Frances brought so much beauty to the world with this series and as sad as I am to see it come to an end I’m eternally grateful that I can pick up any one of these books and find myself back in a world that brings me so much joy.
Lennox and Jerry add even more diversity to this already diverse group. I loved seeing the world through them and discovering just how beautiful their love truly is. These two have been through so much and seeing them finally find their HEA was absolutely magnificent. Then to top it all off getting a glimpse into the lives of every single couple? I think I cried more happy tears reading this than I ever have in my life.

This was a lot different then I thought it would be. I should have read all the books in this series to get a better picture of the characters but I didn’t. I’m not saying that it ruined my experience because it didn’t. I still really enjoyed the friendship that Jeremy and Lennox had. It was beautiful in its own right. I didn’t need romance (which there is in its own way) or sex to fall for these characters. It was a beautiful story and I plan to go back and read the other books in this series because meeting those characters in this book have me a hankering to know their story’s. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Jessica Frances has done it again by writing another amazing story that held a perfect place in my reader heart . I have read every book in the Love at first Crime and loved every one of them more and more every story . This can be read as a standalone but I do highly recommend that you read every one of them in order you don't want to miss out on some incredible stories lines and characters you just can't get enough of . If you are looking for one one heck of a roller coaster of emotions series this would be it you really don't want to miss out on this incredible journey .

This book was awesome. I was hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down even with some of the triggers. It was like a train wreck. I could not stop reading.
