Stranger Planet is a collection of cartoons from Nathan Pyle. It pokes fun at various aspects of human society through the eyes of some aliens.

The Strange Planet strip by Nathan W. Pyle is one of the few webcomics I read. Pyle makes wry, cynical observations about the absurdities of human society through the eyes of some cute aliens. Each Strange Planet strip is a single page with four panels, although some strips are linked.

The art is a little crude and honestly, I was afraid this was going to be a dumping ground for strips that weren't good enough for the first Strange Planet collection but my fears were unfounded. It was just as hilarious as the first collection.

Again, these beings are too cute and wholesome and I never get tired of Strange Planet comics. Pyle is so good at taking even the most mundane human activities and making them seem magical and lovely through the beings' perspectives — and at the same time, he also excels at taking totally normal, everyday habits and pointing out how inherently ridiculous they might seem.

First book got something like 5 stars. The sequel gets 4 stars. Simple reason why - first book was fresh & new to me. This book uses some of the same joke ideas from first book (cats are aloof, like pushing things over, yet people still like them; etc), & literally reuses the same 2 boxes more than once. I kept seeing two boxes (possibly setting up a section), then, about 3 pages later the same 2 boxes with an additional 2 new boxes to complete the joke panel. Quite ... annoying to see the same thing over and over again.

"This machine gives you currency."
"Fantastic."
"But only if you have currency."
"Devastating."
"It tells you how much currency you have."
"I will not want to know."
"Touch here to see the number."
"I will not touch it there."

Not as funny as the first volume, but still had me chuckling.

Still amusing, but the novelty of the alien-speak has worn off a bit as the cartoonist riffs again on sports, kids, and pets.

I've been following Nathan W. Pyle for about a year now on Instagram. I love his aliens and the way they go about adapting to our lifestyles and planet. At first Nathan was just posting new comic strips on his Instagram or at least that is as far as I ventured to research his illustrations. I loved reading them each day and sharing them with friends and family. Then he announced he was combining all of his comics into a book. Which I was super excited for. I ended up pre-ordering two books. One for myself and one for my sister as a Christmas present. What I didn't know was Nathan was going to come out with a book 2 and so this is the review for said book. 5 stars obviously!

Book 2 is the same as book 1 in that we have a collection of his comics and that I still consider everything to be cute and endearing and lovable and funny. The aliens are still as quirky as ever and I pre-ordered this one as well. The cool thing was it's a signed copy so you know. I feel very superior lol.

If you haven't followed Nathan W. Pyle please do. He even has a subscription box now with his lovable aliens in the box. I don't really need more than the books, but it's a cute edition to the comics.

I enjoy the beings even though I have already seen the majority of these online.

Could've used more of the therapist and existential crisis situations lol here are my favorites not in the book

You, a being, ingest an energy rod to scale the rugged terrain of daily existence.

You wonder if elevated handslaps with your friends and then watching a predictable narrative while ingesting grain from a colossal dimensioned grain receptacle will help in the release of pain.
After the predictable narrative, you also ingest mild poison in the joyful hour thinking how you will never find another being for cohesion while your life givers and super life givers apply force for an arranged cohesion.

You yell out "What the unpleasant surprise", when you get a document slice while earning your sustenance.

You are also the kind of being who believes in translucent perished beings, are you not? Or does the predictable narratives about translucent perished beings fracture you?

You take a vacation a few times every revolution, from the middle of the farfromliquid to the massive liquid.

You an erratic creature person or a gentle handpat creature person?

You a jitter liquid person or a hot leaf liquid person?

Ok that was the final melody, sincerely.

These are fun but after a certain point it becomes a bit redundant and a lot less funny.

Every bit as good as the first volume. Here is one example of why I love this book:

"Observe! This creature is a friend" - they (two aliens) are observing a spider in its web.
"As is this creature" - a bat. I love bats!
"Because they both consume creatures that pierce us and drain our life fluid."
"Existence is terrifying."
"At least we have friends."

A series of panels concocted with the following recipe:

—one part, Take common object, rename awkwardly
—one part confusion of purpose
—one part emotional contradiction

Stir with a Cute Stick, and remix until done.

This little series of comics is SO hilarious, I was chortling the entire time reading this. This time around, the alien beings display their affection for the 'erratic being' (cat) and do various activities like going to the movies, playing Mario Bros., and watching Jeopardy. I love the little songs that the aliens made up, like instead of 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow' they sing 'Crystalization, crystalization, crystallization'. The comedy is purely based on euphemisms, but, I swear to you, it is some of the funniest stuff ever.

I can't only I will, with every chance I get. :D

Heartfelt, heart-based, clever, snortle-inducing, adorable, truth-filled, and irresistible.

Worthy of every penny spent, and even more so when given as gifts, the aforementioned treasures.

If you follow this artist on Instagram, you already know of what I speak. And don't worry, there are plenty of new panels inside this volume. :D

If you don't follow, get thee to the Insta and enjoy the daily dose of inevitable chuckling. :D

Not only are these comics amusing and relatable, but they are educational. I give them to my kids and they magically learn new vocabulary words.

So much fun. I will always think the beings version of Let it Snow is better, "Crystalize Crystalize Crystalize". Great collection of the comics.

Unfunny and tedious. If you didn't like the first book, you won't like this one either. While some of the comics were quite creative, there were more that I didn't understand at all.
