Hey all! I hope you love my tales...there is a lot happening in Burning Falls! But don't worry (Be happy!)...the mystery is just starting... the first story in my new series in the neighboring town of Cave Bay will be out sooooon! I love weaving all things paranormal - and maybe even a little magical - with a healthy dose of Alpha smexiness, into my stories. I hope you love reading them as much as I love writing them! If you loved Burning Falls you have a lot to look forward to in Cave Bay...
“Her Alpha Protector” is labeled as the first installment of the Cave Bay Shifters series. However, I wish I had read the Burning Falls Shifters series first, and this was labeled as a spin-off. I had several instances where I was verifying the number in the series because I was missing large pieces of information. On page two, our hero Max talks about how happy he is to have his life back to normal after the events at the neighboring town. I wanted to know those events and felt I missed out because I liked the action scenes that were in this book. I wanted the whole story.
Our main character, Heather, is an emissary of the Fae who is acting as the town’s new archivist. I loved her prickly nature and strong personality. I also loved her maternal skills in this paranormal-Brady-Bunch. She made choices that were not only best for her budding relationship but also for her kids. The kids were more than props which I greatly appreciated. Daisy, Lily, and Rose had distinct personalities and purposeful roles in the story. I was confused about the relationship between Heather and her sister, Lisa. Heather hates her but after one phone-call leaves her kids with Lisa overnight while she visits Max’s mentor. Since Lisa lives in Burning Falls and knows Max, I am guessing that anyone who read this after the other series would know Lisa is a good guy. I loved the magical aspects of Heather, Lisa, the Eldress, and the Fae. I wanted more magic and answers to the town’s sinking mystery.
Love Interest Max is a tough guy with a vulnerable, softy center. I loved his interactions with Heather and all six kids. I would have loved to have read the spaghetti dinner scene where it is the first meal shared by all eight characters but sadly that was cut. Max is conflicted on settling down because of his legacy of absentee-parenting due to alpha duties. I was confused as to what those duties were since most of the town is human. The only pack meeting described is a meetup at a bar between Max and his four friends with the promise of a midnight howl. I would have loved to see what was keeping him from having time for Heather. Max and Heather refer to his strong alpha side, but there were not any alpha activities performed by Max in her presence.
Overall, I liked Cynthia Wilde’s writing style and world-building. I am curious about the mystical elements beneath Cave Bay and want to see more Fae scenes. So many questions linger at the end of the book that reading the sequel becomes a necessity. I will be trying book 2 after I read the Burning Falls series so I can enjoy the intended mystery.
Borrowed From KINDLE UNLIMITED Title: Her Alpha Wolf Protector Series: Cave Bay Shifters #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Cynthia Wilde Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre:#PRN #WolfShifter 4Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐ •••••••••••••• 💢This is a good book but it was lacking something. There were few unanswered questions though maybe it’s in book #2
🔹️Max Strata is the Alpha WolfShifter of Cave Bay. There is this weird feeling that you get when your by the water. Now a blessed sinkhole and getting stuck with kids. What else could happen?
🔹️Heather Sanchez has Fae blood, she is sent to Cave Bay as an Archivist. Heather has had a difficult life her ex husband is a BearShifter who just left her with three children. So coming to a shifter town of Cave Bay was a good move or so she thought!
☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "HER ALPHA WOLF PROTECTOR" This was a very interesting, intriguing, mysterious, unique story, with magic, danger, steam, my fist read by Cynthia Wilde I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Heather Sanchez is a single half FAE mother with three children who left her nasty ex to start over in Cave Bay gets a job as an Archivist working with Pack ALPHA of the town. Max Strata as ALPHA of his pack & small town of Cave Bay has his hands full dealing with a sinkhole offshore with something dark & dangerous in the waters working with new Archivist Heather. I definitely recommend to get this amazing well out together story with interesting characters following Max & Heather's journey to figure out the ancient legends of the sea the strange mysteries & dangers can they get a HE'S or will what's happening destroy the all you have to get this book to see what happens.
“Her Alpha Wolf Protector” is a very good beginning to the Cave Bay Shifters series. Heather half Fae and single mother of three, arrives in Cave bay as an archivist. Max wolf shifter and the Alpha of Cave Bay protects his pack and his town. There is something unexpected and mysterious happening in his town. Max is assigned to work with Heather in an attempt to discover whatever evil is plaguing Cave Bay. On top of all his duties Max has custody of three orphaned shifter children until a good home can be found for them. Heather helps Max with the children and together they attempt to uncover the deepening mystery. Unexplained dark sink holes, algae filled water, rumors of strange creatures in the water and an increased feeling of danger....Can Heather and Max save this town? Take a ride with Max and Heather while they solve the mystery and discover each other.
I liked Max's honesty with Heather from the start. It was refreshing and lowered the angst level. I liked how easily and quickly the six kids bonded! Warm and fuzzies! When Max left the three kids drive off, I was shocked and cried. Heather started strong, but became a disappointment with her lies of ommision. Not telling her kids they were shifters. Then, her decision to go back to Arizona like a weak coward. WTH !! And, she ran from Eloise and her questions! That's a coward not a heroine. Hopefully the next female lead is a real heroine and not a coward or liar.
A part fae woman with three daughters moves to Cave Bay to take a Fae assigned position of records keeper. The Alpha who is a wolf shifter and she is to work with him to figure out what is going in Cave Bay . He has also just gone from bachelor to caretaker of three wolf shifter orphans who the police just found were accidentally in human care not shifter care so now the alpha must care for them until they can find a shifter home for them. The six kids will become friends as their stories keep intertwining.
Her Alpha Wolf Protector by Cynthia Wilde. If you haven't read Burning Falls Shifters I would recommend you do. This sets the scene for Cave Bay Shifters. Something is horribly wrong in Cave Bay. Once a thriving town now everything is falling apart. It is up to Max, the alpha and Heather, the Fae Archivist to put things right. Probably with a little help from their friends in Burning Falls.
Heather and Max were so funny when they met and didn't know how to respond to one another. Then Max was responsible for the 3children who had received a very short rope from even their own parents. He wasn't prepared but he was a good man and he fell in love with those kids and Heather and her kids too. I give this book a really good rating.
He got his happy ever after Heather had three girls and was looking for a new start He was the Alpha of cave bay due to a sinkhole three foster kids are dumped in his lap Max and Lisa work with all the kids and add their own cub at the end sizzling romance wonderful happy ending
Love that this follows a character from the Burning Falls series and that it continues to try to resolve the mystery. The characters are interesting with lots of interpersonal issues to resolve which makes everything so much more interesting
This was a very nice story about finding your true path, and finding your true soulmate in exchange and I’m looking forward to reading more about this story and seeing how things turn out!
The troubles in Burning Falls is handled, but no the sister city of Cove Bay is having issues! Great start to the new spin off series! I am looking forward to more stories.
About a Alpha wolf shifter and a human woman who is a far. She leaves Arizona and her ex with her kids to move to a new place in Cove Bay to be a Libriarian and she and the alpha work together 2 check the mystery of Cove Bay. He the alpha is stuck with kids
This book has a very intriguing story line to it. It has very likable characters, many I hope will get their own story. The ending felt a bit abrupt and disjointed, leaving a lot to be answered in future books of the series.
Very good story but Lost a star due to the issues in cave Bay that ran throughout the book were not finished. The love story was good but the end did not reflect the contents of the rest of the book unless there is a second part to it.
I liked this book. The characters were very likeable and the descriptions were vivid, especially about the children. I would like to read more about Cave Bay.
Well thought out storyline. Enjoyed the characters and supporting characters. Plenty of twist with an ongoing mystery that is not completely resolved but is definitely a hea for this couple.
I’ve got some real annoyances with this book and it’s starting to piss me off so I’ll just stop right where the miscommunication part of the plot begins
