Just my opinion. Read it yourself and decide
The overall concept/plot this author comes up with for her books are so captivating. That’s true of this series too. I’m fully engaged with the primary plot of defending the will of people to choose their lot in life and the war between Angels & Demons.
So, why three stars? Let me preface this by saying I am sensitive to patterns and repetition so some of this opinion is colored by that. Everything between the members of this legion is talked to death, hashed and rehashed until I have to walk away for a while. It went something like this: It’s okay for you to be with (insert name(s) here). I’m just not sure about this. It’s our way of life, there’s no rules only happiness and we’re fine with it. I get it, but then whichever person has this conversation has it with a few more members of the legion. They then pursue the person of interest. Afterwards we’re treated to a similar conversation to the one that happened before the pursuit about the wrongness/rightness of what happened between whoever the parties were that engaged in whatever activity that just occurred. Repeat, repeat then repeat again. If you took all the repetitive conversations out you would only be left with 40%-50% of this book. It’s disappointing. It feels like the author has a word count or book number in her head she wants to end on and she’s willing to forgo giving us material of substantive value to get there. She seriously had the characters spend most of the book having conversations they’ve had since book one. Enough already. That said the book picks up around the 80% mark and I almost thought putting up with the previous nonsense was worth it for the last part.
If I didn’t feel invested in knowing the outcome of this series I think I’d quit here. Maybe I still will. What I know for sure is whether I finish this series or not I won’t be starting another of this author’s series because unnecessary filler seems to be her thing and I just can’t do it anymore.

Couldn’t finish.
I looooved the concept of this series. It was well thought out and brilliant, I expected nothing less from this author.
Then....something happened. Here we are in the third book still arguing over the same things.
I mean the exact same things.
I couldn’t make it past the first chapter. I literally read this same dialogue in the last two books. It’s been filtered and repeated so many times I could quote it. You could easily take out the dialogue of her slut shaming herself and lose a few chapters worth of the book. I didn’t read this one and I know it would still apply.
I wanted to love this series. I wanted to keep reading. It’s just so tedious and exhausting by this point it just isn’t worth it.

This series is a little baffling to me.
First, you may have noticed that I don't have this book on my reverse harem shelf. Honestly, I don't think it is a reverse harem. It is more about a group of characters in a polyamorous or open relationship. Ish. I mean, they are committed to the group only. But they aren't Sia's harem. And as a whole, they don't seem to want to be.
To begin with, Sia's relationship angst from the last book returned with a vengeance in this book, and oh my holy hell, it was fucking tedious. I mean, how many times do we need to have the same conversation about it being okay with everyone if she hooks up with other guys? I think she's been told this about 345896735496 times by now. I truly want to punch her in the ovaries.
Then, Luke somehow also becomes this weird relationship angst guy in this book. He had some weird issues in the last book too, but they weren't the dominant theme. In this book, they became dominant. And baffling! He will, without missing a beat, go from lecturing Sia that it is just fine for her to be with all the guys in the legion, right to how he can't possibly be with her or Nick because he doesn't share/past drama/how he was raised/whatever bullshit in the 340859u version of the conversation, without even needing to take a pause to choke down the hypocrisy.
I frankly don't know why anyone wants to be in a relationship with either one of them, because they are fucking exhausting. I feel tired just thinking about it.
In this book, Luke probably has the most POV chapters, followed by Ron and Sia. This is odd because the series started out with Sia as ... I think the only POV, but I could be misremembering. At minimum, she was by far the dominant POV. And Nick was the core guy, the dude she has been in love with for ages, and he loves her, and the two of them seem practically made for each other. Then, through the series, Nick is more and more sidelined and their relationship seems like a nothingburger. He does not actually have sex with her. He has sex with Sam. He angsts a bit about kind of wanting to have sex with Luke. But when he's in a bed with Sia in this book, he's having sex with Sam, and Sam is having sex with her. That was, I think, true in the last book too. And then we get lots and lots and lots and lots in this book about Luke and how much he absolutely utterly completely unbelievably loves Ron. And vice-versa. Those two are like soulmates in love.
Look, these relationships are all actually well done. I like Luke and Ron together. I like Nick and Sam together. I think Nick and Luke together could be interesting. But while they all seem to talk a bit about loving Sia - generally to each other, away from her, which is a little odd but okay - they don't actually seem to actually love her. I don't really want to see Luke get together with Sia, honestly. I think he's cute with Ron. I think it's weird everyone's trying to press him to hook up with Sia. And I just don't buy that any relationship he has with Sia would be more serious than a hook up between friends, because we put a lot of time into establishing just how utterly in love he is with Ron. I'm okay with Nick and Luke, because it seems like they would both be fine with it being a hook up between friends, so it's whatever. Affection. Cute. As for Sia, they all love her, but it's like ... it's like family love. Puppy love. They like to cuddle with her, and talk to her ... she's a friend they have sex with sometimes. But all of the characters - except Bel - direct their passion elsewhere. Luke is passionate about Ron. Ron is passionate about Luke. Nick is passionate about Sam. Sam ... honestly isn't really passionate about anyone, he just likes to play.
But from all that, hopefully you can see why I say it isn't really a reverse harem. In any way. And Sia isn't even the main character. I think I'd be shocked if we were in her POV for more than 30% of the book. I'd honestly say it was an ensemble, but if I had to say who the main character is ... I'd say Luke. The vast majority of the book revolved around him.
The bummer is, well, firstly, don't call yourself a reverse harem. I think that this group of characters and relationships are interesting, and well done, but they aren't what I expected to read when I pick up a book labeled reverse harem, and this also isn't what the first book set up. I think that's mostly why it was baffling. The first book was definitely setting up a reverse harem, and then book 2 took a hard turn filled with angst, and book 3 went entirely off the rails with so much being devoted to Luke and Ron's grand love story.
The other bummer is ... this series would be so much better with all of Sia and Luke's angst stripped out, and more of a focus put on the overarching plot. Because it's a good one, and relatively unique (at least to me). But we don't even really scratch the surface of plot until like the 65% mark, because the book is drowning in repetitive relationship angst. Then we blitz into plot, rapidly solve it, and end.
I want to like this so much more than I do.
I also really don't want Sia and Luke to hook up. Or Sia and Ron. Please no? Leave Ron and Luke alone.

I enjoyed the book, the relationship dynamic is very very cute and I LOVE RON AND BEL THEY ARE MY BABIES!!! At first I was getting annoyed because a lot of the book was Sia saying she understood the definition and dynamic of the Legion when she actually didn’t but, when we she figured it out I screamed with joy. 3 books to figure it out was a lot but she did it! I give 4 stars because I genuinely liked it, it was very enjoyable and it was funny and it was cute. Also this stars go to my babies Ron and Bel I just love them so much!!!!! They are just so fluffy on the inside!!! I recommend but you do have to be patient with Sia, sometimes she annoying but overall I like her character and the book.

This book truly came at a left-field for me.
There I was, minding my own business and reading Greythorne, when I got the notification that this EXISTS?!!!! You bet your ass I paused everything for this next installment after thinking it had been abandoned lol. You bet your ass...
Anyways, onto the real review. Some spoilers are definitely going to appear so...you’ve been warned.
Couldn’t be more ecstatic with this installment. Couldn’t be. Are there something’s I still need to happen? Yes. But we have two more books so I’m not complaining yet. I know Auryn will deliver. And if she somehow unfathomably doesn’t, I’ll just cry and read Ronwe and Lucifers date seen for eternity because it was literal perfection.
OKAY SERIOUSLY.
(For knowledges sake, there is one female protagonist, and five men; Sia, Lucifer, Nick, Sam, Bel, and Ronwe.)
The Sins of Desire picks up where For the Love of Evil left off with everyone having traveled to the Faerie Realm from the demon realm. Sia—our aether-wielding protagonist—is still having a tough time grasping at the idea of having more than one man in her life, some of them are starting to feel things for each other, and two of them are gradually falling more in love (T-H-E-G-A-Y 🥰). All the while Michael, The antagonist, chases dragons in order to secure Aether for his own malicious purposes.
So to be more specific about the developing romances, Sia, already having Sam and Nick, is struggling to and yet another guy into her harem of demon men—Bel. Our sweet soft boy Bel who just wants to treat her like a literal princess. Throughout this installment, it’s focused mostly on Sia and Bel, in regards to the Hetero—with hints at Sia & Lucifer and Sia & Ronwe, mostly Sia & Bel.
They gradually grow closer, and eventually become an item, which I didn’t know I needed until it happened. Bel is so caring. He’s so attentive and the kindest soul in the book, honestly. I couldn’t be happier.
But now onto THE GAY. What we all fucking came here for Lol.
So firstly, Lucifer and Ronwe. The one existing couple in this harem. They are perfection. I fucking LOVE THEM. And I no longer dislike Lucifer—the one and only angel in the group who used to be a bitchy bitch. I love how Ronwe was patient with him, and caring, and how PURE their date was. Lucifer literally pampered Ronwe for the entire day before anything naughty happened. And I cried because Ronwe has been treated so bad for being cripple, but Lucifer made him feel HANDSOME *sob* and I couldn’t be...more satisfied by their date. My god the only thing that couldn’t have made me sob HARDER was a proposal—but since this is a harem of sorts, I know it doesn’t fit the story so I’m happy with what I received.
Secondly, the slow but developing THING brewing between Nick and Lucifer. Two men who used to share a wife, became friends, and then became enemies. Now, with Lucifer on their side, and Nick admitting he has acquired a taste for MEN, he’s found he has a thing for Lucifer. Lucifer, of course, has already been enraptured by Nick for years. SOO THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GO DOWN IN BOOOK 4. AND I AM HERE FOR IT. GIMMEEEEE
The third thing, being less obvious but still obvious, Ronwe Lucifer and Bel. It didn’t happen in this book, but it was mentioned both by Sia and by Bel. SO IT BETTER HAPPEN.
As I suspected, this turned into a fangirl moment...but overall I liked this installment just as much as the other two, if not more because of the heavy amount of M/M presence.
The one thing I didn’t particularly enjoy, which is why I docked it one star, is the way the hang-ups were handled. Every character had a hang up. Sia—couldn’t accept that she was allowed to be polyamorous. Ronwe—felt like he wasn’t good enough. Lucifer—couldn’t let go of an age-old promise. Bel—was afraid of sharing a woman with Nick. I understood ALL of these hang-ups in relation to the story. My issue was that once they were discussed and handled, you would think that would be the end of them. But no, they would always come back to it as if instead of moving forward, they had taken a couple steps back. And hearing the same conversation over and over again got kind of annoying at times. It did not entirely take away from my reading experience though. As you can see. Lol.

I love this author. I love the concept of this series, and the characters have their own personalities. Why it's only a three? Well because the same argument is repeated over and over again. Each page has the same filler. How many times does she need to be reassured? Then not only is it just the MC it's also all the other characters having the same argument between each other. It has been tedious to say the least.
Please please please don't be like this in the last book.

Book 3
I really enjoy these books, that being said this one kind of dragged for me. 64% of the book was just Sia being told over and over again it was ok to have multiple boyfriends, it just seemed a little over kill. Meanwhile nothing happens with Nick and Sia, as Nick figures out he's attracted to men, and it just felt like Nick and Sia didn't have much to do with each other and it just turned into a whole lot of Luke and Ron, and the story lost some of its forward momentum.

Meanwhile nothing happens with Nick and Sia, as Nick figures out he's attracted to men, and it just felt like Nick and Sia didn't have much to do with each other and it just turned into a whole lot of Luke and Ron, and the story lost some of its forward momentum.

Look. The premise is good. Great even. Being stuck in everyone's anxiety ridden brain...not so much. I convinced myself to continue reading just to know the end. Found out there are two more though. I may come back for the last two books, but I need a break.

Stronger and sexier
Things you must love if you really want to enjoy this series 1-reverse harem/a woman being loved by more than one man openly 2- men loving men unapologetically 3- a new spin on theology and mythos including bad angels, good demons and religions as a control for harvesting life 4- sex, lots of sex in many partner configurations. Read them in order if you enjoy these things and prepare for an amazingly detailed intricate universe and characters with action and fantasy to enthrall.

THIS. SERIES. IS. AMAZING. I know each review I do for this series states that but it really is that good. I am so loving Ron right now. His inner strength of character is just awe inspiring. He has so much compassion and just this inner strength (did I say that already?). Plus man how smart he is, just does it for me. In all honesty each character out of this series has something I love about them. It has really become a favorite of mine.

Worth the Wait
I did a re-read of the series before I read this, so by the time I got to it the work week had started. I stayed up late, read in the morning, and snuck in reads at work. I loved this book. Auryn Hadley has a way of really pulling the reader into her worlds and this is no exception. I can't wait to read book 4!

3-ish ⭐️’s - the ending was too convoluted to make sense... going from complacency for 30 chapters to panicking for our lives kind of material in 5 chapters* is a bit much.

The Title Says It All
This book continues Sia’s story. The book focuses mainly on her struggles with her feelings towards the members of her legion. There is a lot of discussion about it. Initially I felt that it was a bit overdone, but as time went on I realised that if someone had to completely upend their entire belief system in a matter of months, you would need a lot of thinking and talking about it. I loved one of the guys telling her;
It made it clear that they understood her doubts in the context of the society she’d been brought up in.
The continuing focus of the story was the war between the demons and angels and how that affects the middle realms. The First Legion doesn’t want the angels to continue causing war and pain in order to feed their desire for convenient technologies.
I really loved how the characters developed within this book, especially getting to see more of Bel and Ron. Both are wonderful characters; loyal, sweet and kind. There were quite a few POV changes throughout the book and I really enjoyed seeing those different ways of looking at the story.
This series continues to be engaging and captivating. The world building is complicated and compelling, the characters are unique and fascinating and the plot is a complex wonder that pulls you on, page after page, even when you should be asleep.
I can’t wait to read the next book!

Actually a lot of details are quite incongruent not only between books, but also in the same book. Too many details to quote them all.
• This is a multiverse, with different dimensions that are connected to each other.
• There are corridors that allow the characters to navigate unseen and quickly throughout the world or between the worlds.
I didn't understood how the worlds sometimes are connected but other times the characters cannot use the corridors to travel.
The corridors themselves are quite confusing: the characters have to be careful navigating there or they can be lost, but then again they don't need to know where to go and just think something abstract like "I want to go to someone dying of cancer" and puff, there they are. But they also say that if someone is "swept away" by the corridors then they risk being lost forever.
• Aether, the life force of everything alive. Its manipulation allows them to use it to create shields, create things, manipulate their appearance, travel, etc.
Sometimes, when convenient, they can do certain things with aether but other times, when it suits the plot, those things are impossible, or vice versa.

• There is a fight between angels and demons about Aether as their own worlds do not have enough Aether.

• This is supposed to be a Reverse Harem romance.
But it is more of an all-you-can-eat buffet building up to a huge gangbang.
- The characters spend more time dealing with their feelings for each other and talking about how to get together with this or that member of the legion.
Basically they are all interested in each other but they haven't admitted or come to work it out. But they are all attracted to each other.
- It got quite frustrating.
Most of the book is just always the same conversations, repeated several times for each of the romantic interests. Again and again. And when one hangup gets resolved then there is another or they pass to the next conquest and it all starts again.
• It is slow going at least but not very inventive.
• I liked on the FMC questions the idea of being with more than one person.
All the cultural influences, the morality bias, inner doubts, eventual jealousy, not being good enough,... That does bring a bit more credibility to their relationship.
However...
- Their explanations contradict themselves, a lot of times.
It is as if the author simply chooses one way but latter on forgets it and decides on another that helps the plot at the time and never checks if everything is coherent. And this is just not regarding relationships but everything.
• There is a huge, huge age gap between the FMC and the guys as they are immortal, true immortals aka as those that are unable to die and have been alive since the beginning of time.
- Being alive since the beginning is...wow...it brings a lot of baggage and past relationships, loves, regrets, family...
- I have no problem with the way the demon society evolved: the men were the only beings in an entire world so they grouped together and had relationships with each other.
- But...when explaining to Sienna how normal a relationship with more than one person is accepted and sometimes expected for demons, they always use the legion (small group of demons that are together like family/friend/lovers all at the same time) as their base.
For them, the legion and its members are the most important thing. They are each others' best friend, family and sometimes lovers, they share everything between themselves.
They have no jealousy in the legion.
So when one of them brings someone home, they are happy to share them with their legion mates, no jealousy.
However the guys say that if that person had something with someone outside the legion then they could get jealous.
And until then that was a good enough explanation.
But then it gets inconsistent.
The guys had several relationships outside the legion, wives, lovers, they fell in love with others that are not part of the legion nor did they share their lovers with their legion mates.
It does get confusing and it could have gone with serious angst and inner struggle.
• The guys are quite sweet even if their behaviour sometimes does get incongruent with what was shown during the first book.
• Lacks romance, pure smut.
🔸 Disappointing
After the first book... My expectations were high.
And these last two books were a let down.

Some people do not like this author's left wing leanings and agnostic POV. I'm totally in tune with it. If you don't like this way of thinking then don't read this series and leave a nasty review.
One of my favorite parts was when Beelzebub bought a gift for Sienna. I was wishing that someone had given me such a gift when I was in my twenties.
There was a scene where Beelzebub was explaining how their skins worked with their seals, wards, and aetherical protections. How Ms. Hadley keeps this all straight is beyond me.
At one point I made a note that I wanted a little less conversation and a little more action. (Sounding a bit like Elvis Presley.)
My favorite line in this book is: "Love the ones who make you happy - because that is all that matters."
While reading this book I was getting perturbed at how often the guys had to explain to Sienna how polyamory worked and why it was okay for her to enjoy it. I stuck with it because so much else of the story was fun and amazing.
Book 3 has the POV's of Sienna, Ronwe, Lucifer, Satan, and Samyaza. The epilogue is from Beelzebub's POV.
I wish that I could have a fairy house like the First Legion had on Tyrnigg.

So far, Bel is staying my favorite. Sam is a close 2nd favorite. I don’t know what it is about Ronwe but I can’t seem to like/love him :/
This book was no action til the last 20ish% of the book, it was all feelings and working their stuff out. If it wasn’t for Bel and Sam then it would have been a 1 Star book for me :(
I was starting to get bored with the “magic” system because of the long descriptions and nothing going on but hopefully next book is better since it’s heading towards the end.

Wonderful world building.
I love the concepts are turned up side down to create a great world. All the guys are awesome but i honeatly dislike Sia which is weird because I've yet to find a book by this author that I disliked. But i have honestly pushed through these books by mostly skipping her chapters and. Her issues are honestly way too much and i honestly think they should drain her, put her to sleep and live happily ever after with each other. I will get the next book and just skip her chapters as usual because I honestly want to know how things might get resolved.

Too much talking
So, for this far into the series, we shouldn't spend half the book going over each others feelings repeatedly. And I am not exaggerating, once Sia says she is ok with something, the next chapter is her freaking out (again) and talking about it with someone, then that person goes and rehashes the entire conversation with someone else. I like the plot, I like the characters but this is now the second book in a row where the feelings are rehashed ad nauseam to the point where I am sorely tempted to skip ahead to some action.

This one not as great
I really enjoy this series and the storyline, unfortunately this one was just so much "heart to heart" and going over the same stuff. Nothing happened until the last 30% of the book. Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty steamy scenes but other than that it was escorted different characters discussing the same stuff over and over. Hopefully moving forward we are done with the multiple boyfriends discussions/worries.

It's raining men. No, seriously!
Sia isn't just part of a legion, she is part of the 1st legion. Satanael, Samyaza, Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Ronwe- the last one a new addition. She has the first formed and most powerful legion as her protection, trainers, friends and lovers. Sort of. It's a work in progress. But relationship issues aren't stopping her from angel issues. Those pesky feathered fiends are up to something, something big. They're far too interested in dragons and the satyr societies. The question is why. Also, with learning aethersmithing, aetherweaving and aethersculpting, adding onto a fairy cottage, the angels, dragons, satyr wars, relationships, locking Hell, figuring out how to lock Heaven and every other crazy thing going on, finding out about her mom just could be the straw, you know?
Spoilers ahead.
I haven't read an Auryn book yet they I didn't love. Strong characters, world building unimaginable, epic story arcs. The Muse series has all this. Sia struggles with love and abandonment issues, learning billions of years of knowledge as fast as a human can, and, her favorite part, learning to fly. Nick/Satan struggles with identity, personal and sexual. Sam struggles with balancing love in a mildly splintered legion. Bel struggles with a past that seems fresh to him, even if it's 2000yrs behind everyone else, and trying to woo a modern woman. Ron is figuring out how to function in a group, something he's always wanted but never had, and how to push his angel's boundaries. And Lucifer is dealing with a new love, being the only angel in a legion and not breaking a 2 million years old promise. The fact that Auryn can write all these main characters, add in dozens of background characters, not lose story lines, keep details straight, rotate POV, AND keep the readers invested? It's like crack in a digital format. This book picks up where 2 left off and hits the ground mashing the nos button. The battles, the separate but overlapping romance lines, the history, the individual worlds and their workings and beings, ... I can only imagine a wall of sticky notes that probably involved several trees with of paper. She and her editing team are miraculous. I want to rant and rave but there are too many amazing things that, if known about beforehand, dim the reading experience. Go, read, enjoy. And then, if you haven't already, read her other series: The Rise of the Iliri (completed), The Wolf series (completed), Dark Orchid Trilogy (completed), Gamer Girls (still going)- and you don't have to be a video game enthusiast to love that series. And her One More Day, oh, man. It's currently a single but she hints at returning to that setting and writing more. I really hope she does.

Love this series
There is so much I could say about this book but then that would be spoiling it for you. 😉. I absolutely love Sia. Like the guys say, she is soft but hard, weak but strong. She is everything I want to be when I grow up lol. Nick is such a good guy and he's trying so hard to be everything he never thought was ok to be. Sam is Sia's cheerleader. I dont think she would be able to be who she is turning out to be with out him. Bel is my favorite. He is so strong and big but so gentle with Sia and Ron. And such a ROMANTIC. And that scene with him and Sia? My absolute favorite scene that has ever been written. Right up there with a certain scene in ROTI. Beatufily animalistic. Just dreamy. And Ron is so sexy when he comes out of his shell. The way he interacts with the legion, Sia, and Luke is so sexy to me. He is a master with how subtle he is. So unassuming, so devious, so Rowne. He is just what the legion needs. He feeds them empowerment. He gives them life. He gives them softness but also steers them in the right direction to be all they can be by being stern in his own way. Luke is the damaged bad boy that is scared to be himself. He thinks he's not good enough when he is. He thinks he's toxic when he is the clarity they seek. And look out for the dragons! Plot twist!!! Like with all of Auryn Hadleys writing, I never want the story to end. April feels like an eternity to find out what happens next. Thank the universe she writers big books close together. But just like with any addic it never feels enough. That's just what happens when it's a great author . A blessing in disguise. I highly recommend this series and author. I have yet to be disappointed in anything she writes.
There is so much I could say about this book but then that would be spoiling it for you. 😉. I absolutely love Sia. Like the guys say, she is soft but hard, weak but strong. She is everything I want to be when I grow up lol. Nick is such a good guy and he's trying so hard to be everything he never thought was ok to be. Sam is Sia's cheerleader. I dont think she would be able to be who she is turning out to be with out him. Bel is my favorite. He is so strong and big but so gentle with Sia and Ron. And such a ROMANTIC. And that scene with him and Sia? My absolute favorite scene that has ever been written. Right up there with a certain scene in ROTI. Beatufily animalistic. Just dreamy. This review collects spoiler-free thoughts about the second, third, and fourth books in the Demons’ Muse series.
I devoured the next available three books in the Demons’ Muse series in less than a week, after thoroughly enjoying the first story, The Kiss of Death. Hadley has created the sort of urban fantasy I love, with heroic characters, intriguing multiverse conflicts, and unique takes on familiar tropes.
She also puts the “epic” in this epic series with the length of the installments. The page count is great, but only about 90 percent of the time: When Sia and her legion are learning more about her abilities, political scheming throughout five worlds, and during epic rescues and battles. The other 10 percent of the time, Sia still has so much angst about the multiple relationships in her life. Hadley already did all the work of presenting the reverse harem element of this world as a realistic way in which her non-human characters understand relationships. It takes forever for Sia to get with the program (but when she does, it’s worth it).
I adore Hadley’s twisty take on religion and the role that “angels” and “demons” have played throughout Earth’s history. This series presents a fascinating take on the differences between good and evil, then brings it to the next love with the differences between creation and destruction. As a bonus, some extra surprises had me reaching for the next book without my usual pause in between for individual reviews.
I look forward to the conclusion of this series, and I’ve already picked out some other works by this prolific author to enjoy meanwhile. Urban fantasy and reverse harem fans shouldn’t miss out on this binge-worthy series.

The things I can say about this book would not fit on this page and I’d have a hand cramp. This book was fantastic I loved it allll of it. So much has happened and I love it!
I loved the way that the relationships in the legions blossomed. Ron, Bel, Nick, Luke, Sam, Sia and the way this love is all just within the legion. How it’s just anything and everything you need and it’s awesome. I loved that Sia is slowly and more and more getting over her hang ups about this legion relationship.
I mean she kissed Ron and Bel and took it even further with him. And the things that happened with Luke. And the things that’s happened with Nick and Luke. Luke and Ron. Ron and Bel. It’s all just one big love fest and it’s amazingggg. Just yes I love it all it’s awesome! I can’t wait to see what else happens within the legion and where they go from here.
Plus wheww when all that stuff happened with the dragon and Sia being taken. Ron being hurt and then the female dragon and how the Muse shit and their skin works. It’s just so much that’s added to the story and I love it. It’s great and really just continue to hook me in the story and stay engrossed throughout each chapter.

She does it again!
Ill be honest, I've been on a bit of a reading-attention-span slump. I start reading a book, and even books I've been eager for release I just... Can't finish them. There's some little thing that becomes too frustrating to finish. Or I'm not totally invested in the characters. Any number of petty reasons.
Sins of Desire? Yeah, it took me longer than usual, (that's the slump's fault) but I read it monogamously (HA!) and finished it in 3 days. I didn't dither, flip flop between books (e.g. 1 chapter from this, 3 from that, not satisfied with either), every time I picked up my Kindle? I needed that Auryn Hadley fix.
A brautiful continuation, and everyone who was disappointed about Bel & Ron not having screen time to develop a relationship with Sia? Well, they have screen time and it is gooooood.
Auryn always makes the relationships feel real, even if I'm not excited for a particular pair at first. She MAKES me excited, because she shows us how the love develops, she doesn't tell us. It's not instant (even if the lust is!), It grows and it's beautiful, with just enough panic and doubt on the FMCs part to make her feel real as well. We all have doubts, but Ms Hadley shows us how lovely it can be if we work through them. How strong we are if we work together and lean on one another. (Sappy. But true!)
A great addition to my library and another win for Auryn aka the only author to keep me engaged during this reading slump, and a higher praise idk how to give.

A long story
I am still not sure if I should give four or five stars, there are no grammatical errors or editorial boomers waiting to blow the book up, but good God it's a bit of a slog to read.
No plot spoilers, no potential triggers.
It seems to me that yet again the author has spent an inordinate amount of effort on personal angst from both the FL and also now some of the other characters seem to have been infected with a serious case of repetetive feels better suited to a sixteen year old in lust for the first time.
The world building, that took place extensively in the first book is also debated more than a few times, making the book so boring in some stretches I admit to simply skimming through a couple or more paragraphs.
In theory, the storyline is a cracker, but the execution is a little clumsy and the series really needs a good editor to cut out the repetition and move the story forward.
Not for the first time I have made my observation that there is too much tell and not enough show. The storyline lingers where it shouldn't and any action is very slow in coming.
Call me what you want, but since I have already read three of the five books in the series I will be purchasing the next, if nothing else I hate not knowing the full story!.
There are some sex scenes each of them appropriate and loving, some them M/M, the book is aimed at an adult audience so if you are prudish don't buy the book, and if you do but still leave a bad review then shame on you.

Amazing worldbuilding
This is really hard for me to rate. On one hand, I enjoyed a lot of the book. But I also spent a great deal of time getting frustrated with the characters and the author's overly embellished writing style.
This is a really cool concept. I LOVE the idea of different planes of existence. I love the spin on angels and demons. I adore the male characters (especially Bel!). And I this the worldbuilding is fantastic.
BUT. The first 30% or so of the book is more of Sia whining. She doesn't believe she can really be with all of them so she constantly doubts her actions and worlds. There were so many conversations between her and the legion where every single one of them assured her that it was okay to want them. It was seriously the same conversation rehashed over and over and over. I almost put the book down a dozen times because it was so annoying. This is actually a common problem with a lot of this author's work. She repeats things over and over. And it sucks to have to critique that because everything else is amazing. She builds these worlds that are just phenomenal. But then she ruins the effect by having these character rehash conversations again and again.
Bottom line, this is an amazing book and I love the concept for this series. But if you were annoyed with Sia in the last book, then I suggest skimming the first 30% since it's more of the same. I'll definitely finish the series but I may take a break from this author afterwards.

Here's the thing about Auryn's books: you'll never turn the last page and be disappointed. *Something* in the book will have appealed to you--whether it be the writing, a character, the plot, or the steamy scenes, you'll walk away thinking about it and wondering where she comes up with her wondrous plot bunnies.
I'm obsessed with the Demons' Muse series. Truly and horribly addicted to it. I've read the current books upwards of 3 times a piece--at minimum--and if I'm ever in a book rut, I find myself turning to them for comfort.
If you're looking for a steamy, RH book that falls in the medium-burn category; if you love unconventional plots, the grim reaper, demons, angels; if you're looking for a RH book that introduces the concept in a believable way--choose this series. You won't regret it.
In book 3, we see progression both in the budding war and our Muse's love life. We learn new secrets, we see new creatures, and my favorite, we have plenty of good ol' wise-cracking Sam on the pages.
I rarely hand out 5 stars, but ALL of the Demons' Muse books get 5 stars in my eyes.
