Old wounds and new wars. What begins as a search for a kidnapped crewmember morphs into a desperate race against time to stop an alien plan to exact revenge for a 14-billion-year-old war. When humanity becomes a pawn in the power struggle, Lucky might be the only person in the galaxy with a chance to stop the disaster before it takes a devastating toll. But it might already be too late. Resurgence is the third book in a new series featuring retired Frontier Marine Lucky Savage and the ragtag crew of strays, loners, and misfits he inherited when the Empire went belly up.
Lucky and crew continue to face non-stop, impossible situations and yet continue their quest to right the wrongs in the cosmos. The story is well-written with vivid characters who are each contributing their positive(?) inputs to the cause. This is hilarious and keeps the reader turning pages to see what will fall apart next. I received an ARC of this book; this is my honest opinion. I read for escape and entertainment – this series admirably fills the bill!! I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series.
This story picks up from the last volume with the team in trouble, as always, everyone about to die at each chapter. There will be much blood and carnage. What else would you expect!?! I enjoyed book 3 and as a Lucky reader you will too. What’s that Rocky? Oh yeah, AI’s are cool until their not.
Give it a read of you like lucky and his adventures. I did find the first part a bit hard going but that could be this being book five (5) I have read in a row over a four week period. I put the book down for a week and did not touch it or any books then could not put it down. It is luckys usual trouble he gets into so you should enjoy.
Title says it all, Lucky is someone I want to show upside the head, but like Rocky, just can't get away from him. And the Empire just keeps bouncing back, both are amazing like that. Can't just read one so start at beginning and enjoy the madcap ride, I am.
This is an absolute fantastic series, and a great addition to the name previous books. However, it is rushed and there are so many grammatical errors that it pulls you out of the book and to me that is a big no-no. Find a new editor or do it yourself, but get rid of the errors.
This this the real action packed deal.Again. But Lucky isn't a mindless machine. You get the feeling he's a good guy it would be nice to have a beer with.
