I didn't know I was so set on truths until I realized my whole life was a lie.
Being banished to Arcadia Prep.
The myths we thought were just empty threats meant to iron out bad behavior.
All of it was a neatly packaged lie.
Hell raged in the pit of my stomach and now we were free to wreak havoc on humanity.

π™‡π™π™‰π˜Ό
The truth was simple: I was a good girl meant to heal the wounded and help uphold the truth.
I'm the one who tore the truth down.
I stomped on it and set it on fire.
I did everything that didn't add up to the me I cultivated.
I was a perfectly packaged lie.

Elena Monroe grew up in Florida scribbling down stories from a very young age. These stories were really just wavy lines filling the paper, but she knew each word, each emotion, each character's name, and there was no tricking her into forgetting what each line signified. Just like her unconventional way of writing as a toddler Elena is setting her own rules and just telling stories.

Much like her debut novel, The Best Years, life certainly imitated art. Transplanting from the South to the East Coast, Elena currently lives in Connecticut with her husband, reformed bad boy.

Awful Intentions is book 2 in the Celestial Bodies series which is a New Adult Series with hints of fantasy, paranormal, mythological and astrological themes in a modern setting. This book picks up where Awful Curse (book 1) ends and has all the characters dealing with everything that went down in book 1. This is Luna & Nyx's story but you still get a lot of insight from the previous characters we've all grown to love/hate

Luna is lost, broken, confused and trying to figure out what type of person she is meant to be morally and mentally. She no longer fits inside the box she had created for herself and is somewhat afraid of what she may be capable of as well as what consequences she may suffer for what she did. She was incredibly frustrating and naive making one bad decision after another but ultimately she was such a strong, powerful, badass girl who was maybe just a little bit crazy, the good kind of crazy. It took me longer to connect with her as a lot of the time I just wanted to smack some sense into her but knew she was on a path to finding her true self and I just needed to be patient with her.

Nyx was instense, wild, dark, dangerously adventurous, unapologetic while also being frustrating, stubborn and short tempered but boy did I love him.

Luna & Nyx had insane chemistry and passion between them even though they both did and said things that annoyed each other (and me) I still loved their messy, complicated and at times infuriating story.

Awful Intentions was a great story with amazing atmosphere though the tone and feel of it felt different from book 1 which I appreciate as this part of the story felt new yet familiar. Elena also has a way to get you hooked and obsessed with the side characters and by the end leaves you begging for their stories ASAP. I can't wait to see what she does next.

You will either hate it or love it.

This book is the love child of astrology and Greek Mythology mixed together to give us mystery, new adult romance and bully vibes we all love. As an author creating fun worlds means I took liberties with the facts to create Arcadia Prep.

Please do not enter this book thinking it is a history lesson or factual in the mythology at all.

Signs are subject to a lot of factors such as time of birth, place and when you are born. For more insight please create a free birth chart to understanding what kind of astrological sign you are.

It’s so hard to say which couple I love more. Nyx and Luna or Adrianna and Bolton. They all have something special in their own way. But I do have to say I’m so overwhelmed on how freakin good the chemistry is here. ITS ON FIRE! Luna and Nyx are the right amount of need and distance. Luna struggles with who she is now. And Nyx struggles with accepting who she is and desiring the old her as well.

They just go together even though they fight each other like their going against war. The jealousy bits with Nyx are my fave and the sexual tension IS EVERYTHING! You can literally feel the need they have for one another.

All the characters were struggling with their own demons. It was interesting to see all their new sides unfold. I do have to say Elena’s writing just keeps getting better and better. She has these one liners that just have you hooked so freakin bad. Nyx character says the best things and describes Luna so well. The whole Dorian thing made me incredibly frustrated!! The Whole love triangle made me want to scream!

Nyx is everything and his love for Luna was another level. The patience in that man. Luna and Nyx are seriously a fire couple!! The whole King and Queen ceremony made me freakin swoon. This couple screamed royalty!!
This world is so addicting and I want more!! Elena knows how to tease us at the end for the next book. I need it and this one isn’t even out yet.

Received an ARC for a honest review

Nyx and Luna, their whole relationship was just miscommunications over miscommunications. Like just tell each other how you feel! that would have resolved 90% of the drama in this book.

The start was honestly really confusing for me because it was just being repeated again and again about Luna’s bad/good side. So what I understood so far is that, Luna’s bad side is out now after killing someone. She keeps getting nightmares of that night and is scared Omari will come for revenge soon. She is alone in this mess even though Nyx does ask what he could do to help her but she just doesn’t tell him......

Now they all are out of the academia and trying to blend in with the humans, Nyx working in Nike and Luna helping disabled kids. Luna is a shell of a person she was and is desperately trying to get her good side back. So that’s why she is ignoring Nyx’s advances and is trying to like her boss Dorian. Who she believes is a good guy and will help keep her bad side at bay but Nyx doesn’t like Dorian, not only because he is jealous of him but there is something weird about Dorian. Anywaaay since Luna is with Dorian and Nyx is pissed so to hurt her he is fucking another girl. And now it’s a game between Nyx and Luna, who will break first.

So they both are still playing their game when Luna is like I want to know about my past and apparently Nyx is the only one who will be able to tell her that so she decides to offer a truce so she could know about her old life but things go south when Nyx opens the door half naked.

Now see here is when I just couldn’t take it anymore, When she enters his house this is how she describes the room:

β€œHis black silk sheets looked more than inviting.Β  The pairs of boots tipped over, random girl’s clothing discarded on the hardwood floors, and even the free weights seemed like decorations instead of a mess.Β β€œ

So then she goes and sits on his bed and is like tell me about my past and Nyx takes his dick out and she starts giving him a BJ and ends up losing her virginity to him.

description

It gets better you guys. After they have sex:

β€œI should go back to my room, huh?”
An overwhelming feeling washed over me to leave, like I shouldn't be there. Everything went from combustible to awkward with some sleep and fresh eyes. He looked over at me already, pulling away with a puzzled look to his features: eyebrows tense, mouth a flat line, and eyes darkening by the minute.
β€œI'm not your keeper, Luna. You wanna go, then go.” His voice turned cruel instead of the sultry undertone I felt against my skin a few hours ago. The sudden change in his vibrato made something in me instantly pissed off.Β  I just gave him my virginity, and he wasn’t even motivated enough to tell me he wanted me to stay. I sat up holding the sheet to my chest, suddenly feeling very naked and cold.
β€œYou’re a hypocrite. You tell everyone to take what they want without permission, but you can’t even tell me to stay.”

description

And now I’m just like, should I really continue? Because I still have a long long looong way to go so I give it another shot. So after the virginity thing she goes to Dorians house (the boss) to bake. Feeling guilty that she kind off cheated on this guy, where she then see’s a photo of a group of men together and when she went to examine the picture closer Dorian came and grabbed her wrist tightly to the point it hurts her and tells her to stop snooping around and leaves. So what does Luna do?

I didn't want to text Nyx. I didn’t want to even talk to him after what we did. The guilt he planted in me was overwhelming, knowing I wasn’t really his to have.Β  But… Nyx was my only option.Β

ARIANNA AND KATE ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS WHY ARE YOU NOT CALLING THEM.
Anywaaaay

I actually really enjoyed the first book but Nyx and Luna, their push and pull was so unnecessary and annoying. And the whole thing with Dorian..... Luna girl what were you doing?

I stopped around 68% of the book. I just couldn’t with them, Nyx still fucking another girl and Luna trying to make him jealous by flirting with other people. LIKE JUST TALK IT OUT AND GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER.

And Kate? Seriously omg I low key want to still read her book because her plot twist was like WHAAAT THE FUUUCK.

Excellent follow up book in the Celestial Bodies series. Very fast paced, lots of intrigue, and smoking chemistry that will leave you wanting more. This book gives us more information about The Cloth with a couple new faces and the return of a few someones from the past.

Focusing primarily on Luna and Nyx, we see events unfold following the failed ritual that allowed them to leave Arcadia.

Nyx and Luna circle each other, neither wanting to admit what they truly want... each other. But circumstances arise that align them and the rest is perfection.

In this installment, we see a much darker side to Luna. She isn't the good girl we knew from the previous book. Life and events have changed her. Luckily, Nyx wants her as she is. He isn't looking for a good girl or a bad one. He allows her to be herself, which is exactly what she needs.

Finally, we see Nyx and Luna come together in a way that places them above the rest.

I adore this series and am very much looking forward to what comes next. This is an honest, unbiased review after reading the ARC.

I’m here for Nyx. Say what you want but the man is fire. No pun intended. I definitely felt more drawn to his POV through this book than Luna. While I understand she’s trying to find herself, as the story progressed I got increasingly annoyed with her. Her refusal to see things for what they were and turn situations into what they weren’t as well as put on others what she thinks they feel as opposed to what they do got to me. I blame my pet peeve of characteristics in characters. The refusal and dismissal of her true feelings but also what’s going on around her I just couldn’t get past. Her iron grip on the past was exhausting. I didn’t understand her need to remember the past when all it did was feed insecurities. Also her punishing Nyx for that same past but not Arianna I didn’t understand.
.
Nyx is such an enigma. His depth and layers were so well written and just his character in general was amazing. He defined the stereotype of β€œstrong and silent”. No ounce of defeat even after everything he was put through when it came to Luna but also his growth into being the king he is. His was such a captivating journey, you couldn’t help but be drawn in by him. You wanted to hate him but you can help but cheer and love him. His dedication and devotion is a thing of beauty.
.
It’s a great plot with so much going on. Hidden agendas, hidden players, it made the mystery and intrigue aspect go up to high levels. The intricate weave of webs the author has made really makes you take the time to carefully unravel it but also throws you off for a loop when it ends up being misleading also. It’s a head trip but one you just can’t get enough of. I enjoyed this ride so much. It’s interesting to see everything come undone and the little surprise spin at the end? I mean NO ONE saw that coming!!! I look forward to seeing what’s in the next book.

Nyx, my baby, my heart. My heart was hurting so much in this book. When nyx loves, he loves so fierce and will do anything for that person, even kill. Learning how to deal with feelings is hard, you have to learn through mistakes and sometimes hurt people. But Nyx will make Luna his. Whatever it takes. Luna feels like she lost herself. Killing someone was never in her kind and sweet nature. Is she really the sweet and kind girl? Or is she someones else? Someone dark? When things in her life turn bad, she thinks she deserves everything bad that's happening to her. She will punish herself even more by staying with Dorian even when she really wants Nyx. Finding yourself, learning how to love. Accepting that you deserve good. Nothing is easy. And they are still stuck on earth. How will they get home? What has Dorian to do with anything? Is he trying to kill them? How will they get back to Olympus?

~Awful Intentions~

β€œI should have told her that she could go on a killing spree and I wouldn't love her any less. We were a match made in hell."
πŸ”₯πŸ–€
This is the kinda book you crave, the book you know will be everything you’re looking for, when the hype is 100% spot on..when I started Awful Curse I fell for Nyx, fell SO hard, and all I knew was that I needed more of him..and honestly how could you not fall for him? Gorgeous asshole, brooding, Australian accent hello sold! When I was finally able to read his book I think I died, he was everything and is everything I wanted him to be. He was an asshole who knew what he wanted and didn’t care who knew or who was in his way. He truly will rip you apart piece by piece and put you back together. On top of Nyx being perfect you have Luna, quiet, meek, sweet Luna..NOT!! She tears me apart in this book she is so strong, so bad ass!!! She comes to be the heroine you’re always looking for in a book, the one who finds herself, then has no problem finding her darkness and connecting with it..in her case she connected 100 percent with her darkness and I’m so here for it!!!! Then of course you have the connection and chemistry between Nyx and Luna, which has been there since Awful Curse. The match made in hell, the true King and Queen who we are all bowing down too..their love, their fire no one can compete with them. Elena you blow me away with your words, your stories, and my always need for more. You make each character come alive, and make us need more and want more..You write magic and I can’t wait for more..because of course you couldn’t leave us with out a million more questions!

'I pledge my blade, as I pledge my soul, ever to your service'

Awful Intentions continues on from Awful Curse, book 1 of the Celestial Bodies Series. The end of book 1 ends with a traumatic, life changing scene for all those involved. Omari & Luna especially.

This book is written with Luna & Nyxs POV with the occasional chapter from Caellum. Luna suffers immensely for her performance within the ritual and struggles to balance her dark and good side whilst Nyx attempts to win her over until...along comes Dorian and everything goes downhill really quickly.

Nyx is a serious brooding alpha male but teamed with Lyna who is a total badass in disguise, they together will destroy all thoughts of negatiticyr towards their newfound roles within the Underworld.

Caellum has the role of playing detective, especially when it comes to Lunas new love interest and Nyxs flavour of the week. All characters make an appearance at some point in this book, particularly towards the end. I'm left with a barrage of questions which of course will be answered in book 3.

Elena created a whole new world with The Celestial Body Series, which at times can get complex but answers are always provided deeper within the stories. Her words create a powerful world of not only gods, but intense relationships, bonds reconnecting and everything is always unpredictable which brings the mysterious vibe.

Another fabulous read by Elena. No words can give do this book justice. If you're thinking of giving up, please give this book the benefit of the doubt and persevere because it is so worth it!

”Now I am trying to figure out who I am all over again. Ignoring the stars, fate, the crowns and everything else.”

The Gods are free and the world...they aren’t ready for what’s to come.

Awful Intentions, book two in the Celestial Bodies Series by Elena Monroe is all about fire and water. If Ari and Bolt were the shiny jeweled crown, Luna and Nyx are the blood crusted dagger strapped to your leg. They cling and bite the skin just enough to make you want another taste all over again.

We start of relatively where we left off in Awful Curse, give or take a few days, weeks, maybe a month? Times odd when you are hanging around Gods ya know? If Bolton was aggressive, bedroom eyes Nyx is like silk in water. Smooth and beautiful to watch but hiding a darkness so deep the bottom isn’t fathomable. All that darkness is lit by a single flame in the name of Luna.

β€œI wanted her broken so that no one else would want her. All to myself, selfishly and desperately pain-staking.”

Elena brings a mix of urban fantasy and angsty lust that started to bubble in book one and poured over in this sequel. The Prince of the Underworld not only has a looming throne but the threat of Luna being scooped up by someone else. In a game of The Wolf and Little Lamb, Nyx and Luna navigate the murky waters that have only deepened since the ritual that caused Luna to become a darker version of herself.

β€œYou don’t have to be near her to occupy her heart. This is your eviction notice. I suggest you don’t make me use force.”

While both characters have their own struggles ,not only with themselves but with each other, there’s another hidden one they have yet to learn about. Until..it infiltrates their small circle and sets the stage for another emotionally fueled story in a world where The Gods walk amongst us and you never quite know whose friend or foe.

β€œThe beginning of the end of solitude and silence. This was the beginning of the end because the two most fucked up Gods just sat on the damn throne.”

Gods, I could stay forever in this world of Greek Mythology and astrology, combined with all this angst and a little bit of bullying.

I loved Nyx and Luna! I cheered for them. She was so lost after everything that had happened in the first book and Nyx was there every step of the way. Even when she didn't want him to, even when she pushed him away.

I loved the different POV’s of all the other side characters. It always adds to the story.

I'm just loving this world and yes, we're getting more of it.

This book is so much more than friends-to-lovers, it has action, friendship and a level of hotness that we only can see in Elena's books, a series that will blow your mind and will leave you wanting, no, panting for more

I held her small features in my hands, still too stunned to respond. I should have told her that she could go on a killing spree, and I wouldn’t love her any less.Β  We were a match made in Hell.

OH.MY.GOD YES this was my first thought once I read the last chapter of the book. THIS story, so many things happen in it that you don't know what you think. When I read the first one of the series I was in awe of the characters and this new world of Signs and Gods Elena created it. It's really amazing the talent she has to come up with such a unique and mindblowing story like this, I fell in love with her writing on her first series, the Amherst Sinners, and since that she became one of my fav authors.

This book evokes so many emotions form me that I cannot describe them, fire, power, doubts, and sorrow are some of the things all the characters convoy thought the story, they are all trying to discover their purpose on this book, after Arcadia, everything changed and nothing ever will be the same. One of the things that I love the most in the group she created, is that each and every one of them is so different yet with something that connects them and the way they all stick together when it comes to needing help.

Nyx and Luna are a whole new level of a couple. He's strong, alpha and all bad boy, the prince of the Underworld with no regrets and giving two shits about what others think, he talks his mind and doesn't regret a thing he does, except when It comes to her. Luna. I love this heroine, this shy girl with her pale skin and ginger hair, she believes so little of herself, but she's so much more. I love her strength, her commitment to help and heal other..she's the friend we all wish we had, head over hills for Nyx's the combination of the both of them it's explosive and makes the interaction between them even more interesting.

He knows her, just she knows him, this push and pulls, cat and mouse game they play..is becoming more dangerous by the day..will they be able to resist each other?πŸ”₯

Awful Intentions by Elena Monroe is book 2 in the celestial Bodies Series. This one focuses on Nyx and Luna who we met in the first book and takes us on a journey through the past and the present with a few new additions thrown in to mix up the story.

If you’ve read the last book you know that there was a cliff-hanger that ended with the ritual not going the way the gang thought it was going too. After the ritual, Luna is left in a kind of limbo where she is neither good nor bad. She struggles to be her true self and find her balance whilst trying to keep Nyx close whilst at the same time, pushing him away. Within this drama she meets a man called Dorian and everything changes, becoming really complex.

Throughout this we see the brooding Nyx fighting his feelings for Luna, whilst seeing Luna’s true self and being somewhat angry that she is choosing to be with someone else. For Nyx, there seems to be a lot of complicated feelings when it comes to Luna because of his past with Arianne, but he does tell her exactly what he wants from her and he wont settle for less.

Nyx and Luna together are powerful, sexy and strong and it takes both characters some hurdles to come together as a King and Queen. Luna’s lack of faith in herself is poignant and sad as she balances what being with Nyx would be like in comparison to Dorian. And scenes between her and Nyx are complex, sexy and at times absolutely frustrating!

This book is complex as there are a lot of characters in the book that have their own tales and dramas but it is weaved together magically so you are transported into the life of past Gods & Goddesses whose place on the chess board has changed dramatically. There is such a bond between each of the characters (whether they agree with them or not) and it seems exceptionally strong in this book due to the failure of the ritual.

This book is full of different POV’s, drama, angst and suspense which will keep you turning the pages to get to the end to figure out what is going to happen…which you’ll have to wait to find out in the next installment

OK, it is official, Monroe has officially won me over to her Celestial Bodies series! While this story centers heavily around Nyx & Luna it also gives us so much more. Awful Intentions sees the infamous Circle dealing with the drudgery of everyday life. Not all of their past struggles have been resolved and some of them seem to be firmly set in the "fake it until you make it" category of coping with past events. I really enjoy Monroe's modern take on mythology. She weaves it beautifully into a story that is both astrological fiction and urban fantasy. This story is toted as a paranormal romance, and yes it has those elements in it, however I would say that in this book (as with the last book) the romance aspect is almost secondary to the main story line. The more I read in this series the more I can appreciate that style of writing. There were plenty of hints dropped in this story that set us up quite nicely for where the series will head next and I'm very interested to see where the next book takes us. Personally I'd like to know more about some of the less featured members of the Circle. Drama and angst abound and like any good sideline observer I will be anxiously awaiting the next book with popcorn handy!

4/5 ✨
3/3 πŸ”₯

Awful Intentions is book 2 in The Celestial Bodies series and this book followed Nyx and Luna.

In this book we see a much darker side to Luna. Luna is struggling with herself after what happened in book one and Nyx is struggling with his feelings for her. Ultimately Luna ends up seeing a guy named Dorian and it drives Nyx crazy.. one because his girl is with someone else and two because Nyx doesn’t trust Dorian. So there is a bit of a love triangle between these characters.. and I honestly wasn’t the biggest fan of it. It was just so frustrating for me. I just wanted Luna and Nyx together. Lol. Don’t get me wrong though.. I still really enjoyed this book!

Nyx and Luna have so much sexual tension in this book and let me just tell you.. when it finally happens πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ so good. Lol. Nyx and Luna are my favorite couple in the series right now. Absolutely love them.

Of course this one ends on a cliff hanger just like book one and I am already feigning for the next book! Can’t wait to continue on in this world.

All in all, I give this book 4/5 stars.. some parts of it were just annoying to me with Luna.. but I still really enjoyed it.

Oh my god! Wow this world is reeling me in so bad. I just want to know everything. Give me all the books. Give me all the couples. Just give me everything!! I feel like this would have been the most epic 3 day series binge read of my life if I had waited for the series to be complete. If you're waiting, be warned! The world of Arcadia Prep is just so freaking intriguing and mysterious. I love that we are finding things out along with the characters and being shocked and rattled by each new revelation as they come. My mind is always trying to make sense of everything, without having a FCKNG clue what is going on. I'm already dead excited for the next book and just craving more of all these crazy, intense, somewhat disturbing and complex characters.

When it came to the two main characters and their undeniable yet super frustrating love, well I have a lot of feelings. Because, and I just said it, it was frustrating!! And it's all Luna's fault! That girl omg, she pissed me off a lot. She loved Nyx yet she didn't want to be with him because he was the devil and guess what? She has way more evil in her than my baby Nyx. While he embraced her dark side and just wanted her to be herself, she refused to accept him for what he really was... her soulmate. And gosh he was amazing... super sexy, understanding, protective. He was all those things with her and she used him! How dare she?! Yeah, I legit hated Luna for over half of the book because I could not understand her and her stupid actions. And YET even having hated her, I think I loved Luna and Nyx as a couple more than Bolton and Arianna. They are a much better Queen and King! They really fit that image and I can't wait to see what's in their future as king and queen of the underworld.

Bolton honestly kept pissing me off too omg..."I'm the King... blah blah blah I'm the King"... and why is he? He doesn't even have any powers or takes charge in anything, yet he wants everyone to bow down to him... like, no! And gosh, all the other characters!!! We got to see everyone and get POVs in a lot of them, even new characters that showed up in this book to cause some mayhem. I loved getting all those POVs and getting inside their heads, see their sides of things and the secrets they've been hiding. I completely fell in love with Callum in this book and I'm so curious about Kate and Austin's dynamic and what actually happens behind closed doors.

I'm just loving this world and am super intrigued about every single thing. I cannot wait for more. If you've been on the fence about starting this series because it's on the fantasy/pnr side, don't be. This is romance above anything else. I was on the fence myself at first and now that I've read it, I can't get enough. If you do start, just keep in mind this is book two. You have to read Awful Curse first because this isn't a series of standalones.

Elena has gone and done it again my friends!!!

God, or GODS!! This book was everything! Probably gonna be a short review cuz I can’t even have warnings of spoilers, you just NEED to read this.

I loved Nyx and Luna in Awful Curse(book1). And I mean I am a Scorpio like Nyx hehe. But to have them be the main focus point of the story was just incredible. They have sooo much to them.

Picking up after how book 1 ended was the best. And I felt for Luna. Poor girl was just outta it and all over the place. But to have Nyx still be right there and waiting for her to come back to him made my heart just burst! I loved seeing that side of Nyx. But there was times, a lot of times that I was yelling at my kindle at both Luna and Nyx because of their actions lol.

But this wouldn’t be a true Elena Monroe book without twist and turns, and boyyyy you get them. I also really loved that she kept the different POV’s of all the other side characters. I love when authors do that in books. Helps set the story up more. Especially when it is a group of friends like them. They are Greek Gods, they all are stuck together. So to get other POVs is always so refreshing.

This series is one you'll either love or hate, I don't think there's anything in between here.

This tightly compacted world of everything weird and wonderful is a lot and at times overwhelming. It's a overload of information without even factoring in the separate stories within this world. My advice would be to take your time and take everything in. I'm a fast reader but for this one I slowed my road and in some chapters re-read over to make sure I didn't miss a thing. Even if something don't make sense right away, I promise it will later on. This world is complicated, intriguing, frustrating and climacticly suspenseful. You know something's coming, you're just not sure what or when.

We were a match mad in hell-Nyx

Luna & Nyx are a ticking time bomb. The anger and lust, the love and pain. The passion. He wants who she was then and she doesn't even know who she is now. Their journey isn't sweet. It's filled with the unknown. Something so bad for you it's good, that's Nyx. Luna, sweet Luna.. she's not bad but not entirely good either. They're both super complex characters who really had to dig deep inside themselves. They drove eachother up the wall but they also loved one another in a way no one else could've compared. Trust me..they know, they tried.

This crazy world Elena has crafted is like nothing I've ever read before. It's multidimensional characters with many layers and it's hard hitting unique plot makes for a very original read. The emotions are palpable. It's raw, brutal and heartbreaking. It's frustrating, it's teasing and it's so much pent up tension I swear even I was having a fucking sweat on. I was feeling all the feels.

Questions are answered but you will be left with more questions. She's going to crumb feed us bits throughout this series teasing us with the unknown.. I just know it. I'm so intrigued about everything in this world which is crazy because it has aspects of tropes I fucking hate. A hint bully romance, Collage/ school drama.. love triangles. CLIFFHANGERS. She's so fucking good she got me reading shit I normally hate but I can't here because I want more with every page turn.

I was shook through the whole damn book. So many secrets. Seamlessly written and jam packed full of all kinds of crazy you have no idea what you're heading into. I can tell you now to hold on tight because it's one hell of a ride.

Now... I feel like I've behaved with this review and not let much slip. Yay me. So I'm going to leave this here for now. All I need now is the rest of the damn series!!!.

I’ll admit this isn’t exactly my wheelhouse- well some of it- we’ve got the bully romance thing going on, which is very much my forte. I do enjoy paranormal, but normal of the wolfie variety, so the celestial Gods/mythology is a bit outside of my norm. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first (which I liked β€œokay”)- I think Elena’s hitting her stride, we know the characters more, and I’m a lot less confused as we’ve figured some stuff out.

This book focuses mostly on Luna and Nyx- although we have some extra POVs throughout. This is hard core angsty- Nyx is the literal sone of Hades, so basically as β€œbad boy” as you can get, and Luna is a bit lost and confused as to what she wants, she’s just struggling so much to figure herself out and is so insecure. At times, her refusal to see the big picture or to accept her feelings bugged me, although I understand her struggling to make sense of her part in the events of book 1. Nyx has a much clearer characterization- he starts as an enigma that fascinated me since book 1, but I found him to have such depth- he’s stoic yet magnetic. Their relationship is definitely a rocky journey- lots of desire, lots of hurting. I do appreciate how this author doesn't’ feel the need to β€œpretty up” her characters- they are flawed, at times wrong and bad- like all of us they are complex and have shades of all instincts.

Lots of crazy stuff goes down as we dig into this complex relationship and cast of characters. We’ve still got that air of mystery and complexity and the hidden motives- I found myself scratching my head more in the first book- so things felt more tight and clear here, but we still have all the nuance and intensity. And the ending. Needless to say, interesting things to come. More questions to be answered.

Overall 3.5 stars- enjoyable read!

Once again Elena Monroe effectively renders me speechless. This book was chalked full of intriguing storylines, brilliantly developed and thought out characters, and incredibly captivating writing that can’t be matched!

This book picks up where Awful Curse left off, but centers around Nyx and Luna. I am in awe of everything that is Luna. She is a perfect mix of good and bad. She is not one or the other, she is perfectly imperfect and completely herself. She is kind and a healer, but she is also fiercely loyal and bad to the bone.

β€œWhere the light ends, the dark starts. Now, I'm just well balanced.”

And Nyx, goodness gracious! I wasn’t sure if Elena was going to be able to top Bolton...but damn did she! I will bow down and pledge my loyalty to Nyx any day any time. This man is the silent but deadly type and his love and loyalty for Luna knows no bounds. Together they are a perfect storm. Each accepting and embracing the others β€˜flaws’. Each reveling in the others chaos but also in each other’s calm. They balance each other and understand each other like no other.

β€œA king without a queen is simply a man on a power trip. A king always needs a queen to anchor down his crown.”

This story blends together the perfect mix of astrology and Greek mythology. But it is so much more! It’s thrilling to the point I was on the edge of my seat while reading. It was romantic to the point I was swooning where I sat. It was gritty and raw creating a mix of realness, vulnerability and imperfection. This book had it all! I am absolutely in love with this story. Elena Monroe exceeded any and all expectation I had for this story. Nyx and Luna are everything! This entire cast of characters and words Elena so magical creates brings this story to life like the words are playing on screen in front of my eyes.

Absolutely brilliant!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've read books by this author before and I've really enjoyed them. This book is book #2 in the series, Celestial Bodies #2. I absolutely loved reading the first book in this series and I couldn't wait to read this one and it doesn't disappoint its awesome. It continues on from the first book and the story really flows its awesome.

Nyx is a total alpha male bad boy type but he is a very loyal man who'd do anything for her, anything and when they are both together its mind destroying you cant get enough of them both. He tries to be understanding and she's pushing him away.
Luna was a beautiful girl that has had things quite tough and is a really strong soul and I really liked her but she can be very frustrating in how she is and what she does. She needs to get things straight in her mind because I think she knows who she's meant to be with and she needs to wake up to it.

This author has written this book so beautiful and the world building is fantastic, I couldn't put it down, I couldn't take my eyes of of the pages. This book does have aspects of mythology but it totally goes with the story and the romance is so great that they are totally soulmates forever.
This author always writes fantastic characters in her books and you cant get enough of them. They have both had things pretty tough in there lives and the past is always there and the struggles that they go through is sometimes hard. The chemistry between them both is electrifying and this is truly one couple that is defiantly meant to be.

This book has twists, turns and shockers that the reader will not see coming and this book will keep you hooked and keep you guessing right until the very end. I love that it is told from different points of view too I always prefer that. Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a honest voluntary review. This is a great book a real must read.
This book is expected to be released on 22nd May 2020.

Alright. So this was my second book by Elena monroe, after the first book in the celestial bodies. And just like that book too, I really like the way she manipulates the story line and forces us to see the story from all perspectives. The characters of the story were perfect and the ending was damn good. There were parts of the story were I found the story a bit dull, but then Elena made up for those parts by giving us even more interesting stuff after wards. Overall this book is recommended to all the fantasy romance lovers, with a mix of high school romance in the book!!!!

When Elena said you will either hate it or love it... She was wrong, you can only love this series!
There are a gazillion thoughts rushing through my mind right now and all of them point towards Nyx and Luna.
While the first book, Awful Curses, took us on Bolton and Arianna's side of the story, this book was all about Nyx and Luna dealing with the changes in life and the entrance of new characters ( and return of old ones, I'd say) while they find their way out.
Nyx is the prince of the underworld and he justifies his place as royalty and a Scorpio by having you so hungry for his words.
He's dark, raw, addictive and heady. He's sin wrapped up in an Australian accent and you cannot help wanting him.
Luna was shown differently here, she battled the demons of the dark while trying to stay in light, and boy, was her struggle beautiful.
They destroyed me β€” mind, body and soul.
Awful Intentions is filled with angst, tension ( sexual and otherwise), heat, pain, fear, anger and mystery.
Elena has done it again, and made sure to make you thirst for the next book.
Once you start, you won't be able to put it down while they slay.
The Celestial bodies series is definitely one my favourites of this year already.

Deliciously captivating. Elena Monroe gives me everything I need.

In a world full of dark academy romances, this series stands way out. I was hooked from the very first page of the first book in the series.

As long as I can remember I have been captivated by mythology. The Gods and Goddesses. The mystery that surrounds it all. The love, hate, jealousy and betrayal. This book takes all of the that, adds in scorching hot chemistry, and wraps it all up in a nice bow of darkness and angst.

This is the second book in a series and picks up right where Awful Curse left off. It has all of the same characters but focuses more on Nyx and Luna. I was dying to experience Nyx and learn more about the dark, brooding, mystery that is the prince of Hell. I was not disappointed. I adore this dark love story. It is a journey of self discovery and learning to love every part of yourself, even the really dark parts. I think there is a little bit of Luna inside all of us.

If you are a fan of dark romance, bully romance, friends to lovers romance, mythology or astrology and love something a little different, then give this series a shot.πŸ–€

I didn’t’ think it would be possible to top Awful Curse, but boy does this one do it. I loved the bits and pieces of Nyx and Luna in the first book, so I was super excited to get more of them. I love the mix of mythology in this story and the modern take on it.

It’s hard not to love Nyx, especially if the alpha bad boy is your type. However, there is more much more to him. Luna, I love her. She is strong woman, despite being frustrating at times. The two of them together is truly beautiful and their chemistry is off the charts. These two are so perfect for each other.

This story is beautifully written, full of twists and turns. It’s one where you sit down to start it and you will not move until you reach the final word. It completely sucks you in and captivates you. Seriously, whether you’re a fan of mythology/fantasy or not this is one book and series that I’d highly recommend.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I liked nyx from awful curse just something about him and cealium called to me. And I wanted more. Now that I finished this book nyx d I d not disappoint me. But Bolton and Arianna on the other what is going on. And Kate I just don't know how to feel about her. As for cealium I want his book so bad.

Awful Intentions is book two of the celestial bodies series. i preferred this book than book one (Awful Curse). probably because i was sooo confused in book one lol. this book starts where Awful Curse left off and it does end with a cliff hanger.

nyx and luna were two characters from Awful Curse that intrigued me and was so excited to read more about them. they are both complicated individuals, still trying to figure themselves out. i liked how luna and nyx have a special connection and they know each other more than they know themselves. nyx was very alpha asshole and protective over luna. and the fact that nyx admitted he loved luna first, oooof. their chemistry was freaking hott and i was all for it.

"I was in love with Luna.
For better or worse, dark or light, a match made in Hell or a divine intervention.
I love Luna."

the plot was a little confusing and hard to follow. also i like the side characters, but the way their POV was mixed in there caught me a little off guard and confused. however, i was very intrigued with the fantasy, paranormal, Gods/mythology aspect of it.

4.5 STARS REVIEW

New Adult Romantic Fantasy, Mystery

First Person, Multiple-POV

This is book #2 of Celestial Bodies series and it can't be read as a stand-alone.

*This story may be a trigger for some people.*

Where the light ends, the dark starts. I'm just well balanced.

by Luna

This series has really started to take shape and I have ended this second book understanding a lot better the concept of the plot. I ended the first book a little confused and I was very glad that I already had the second story on my kindle.

I'm really enjoying the story arch of the series and all these gods and goddesses causing mayhem on Earth.

This is not an easy series to read, the plot is thick, there are a lot of background needed for better understanding and the characters are intense.

I loved all the characters and I have also loved how they have all been part of the journey and we have been getting glimpses into all of them. But if I had to choose, I would have to say, Arianna still is my favorite heroine, but Nyx, has become my favorite hero (they feel a lot like antiheroes).

Will next book be of Caellum and Kate? I don't really know if they will become a couple. Can't wait to find out!!!

Exciting story with fantastic characters!!!

31.5/35 STARS –  4.5 STARSΒ (between 31.5 stars and 33 stars)

Addictiveness: 4.5 Character: 4.5 Cover: 4.5 Freshness: 5 Plot: 4 Romance: 4.5 Writing Style: 4.5

Action 3/5 Angst 3/5 Darkness 1.5/5 Humor 0/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 3/5

Would I recommend? Yes, if you like a story with depth and intensity!!!

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes!

Would I read more from the author? I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

Addictiveness: 4.5/5Β This is not an easy read, but I was already hooked from the cliffhanger of the first book. It was really easy to connect with the characters and to embark on this journey with them. As addictive as ice cream!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 3.5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 4/5Β Complex characters that kept growing and evolving in this second book.

Luna was a good heroine. Not my favorite (Arianna still holds that title), but her character along with Arianna has had the biggest evolution until now. I understood that Luna's path was to accept that nobody is all good, but she annoyed me a lot in this book. Her choices and the fact that she kept repeating the same mistakes were a bit hard for me to swallow. I don't want to spoil anything, but some of her choices were really icky, in my opinion.

Nyx was hot and wonderful! I do like a bad boy... a bad boy with hidden heart is kryptonite for me. :) What an amazing job Ms. Monroe did here. Nyx was multidimensional and had a lot of layers. His duality was so well explored and explained. Loved him!!!

Secondary characters They are all so complex and amazing. I really want to know them all. There is no one here that is all good or bad. Even though they are all gods/goddesses they feel very real and believable.

Villain/antagonists ... there are a few villains here, but one clear one in part of the story. I feel like even in the group of friends they all antagonize each other from time to time. Too many gods together, too many egos...

There are no easy characters, but they are all lovable and can be understood.

Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5Β Β I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I like this one. This is a gorgeous cover. Not only because I can totally see Nyx here, but I also loved the font and colors used. I loved the subtitle that sort of put a stamp of Luna also on this art work. IΒ would easily buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!!!

Freshness: 5/5Β Yes!!! This is a unique read. The author's creativity is fantastic and everything here feels fresh and one-of-a-kind. As fresh as water during the summer, in the middle of the desert!

Plot: believable 4/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 4/5, ending 4/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5Β Β Great opening and exciting ending. Believable plot, with hot dialogues and great pace. Fantastic setting, interesting subplots with unexpected twists. High level of enjoyment!

This is a hard plot to follow. There is a lot information that the reader needs to understand the story, but is a very imaginative adventure filled with mysteries and suspense.

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 5/5, description 4/5, development 4/5, steam 5/5Β Β Hot alert! The romance was full of ups and downs. Luna couldn't make up her mind, but when together they were combustible. It was never a matter of lack of love, it was easy to see they loved each other. It was more a matter of accepting that we cannot always control our destiny, even when we are gods. Hot romance!!!

Writing Style:Β 4.5/5Β Amazing characters, creative plot, steamy romance, cohesive writing and very well written dialogues. Great style!!!

Because I try to be very analytical and I don't really believe in perfection...

I had a hard time with Luna for a while. Maybe because I had created too much expectation for her character from the glimpses of her on the first book, I ended up a bit disappointed.

I know this is a series with cliffhangers, but it doesn't mean I have to enjoy these endings :).

You MAY read this because you have been following the series; you SHOULD read this because you enjoy fantasy tales ; you MUST read this because the hero is hot, dangerous and lovable!!!
