I kinda want more of the story to be about Sela and Azoth instead of the main character, Rocky. He's not as exciting as Sela, that's for sure.

Another great book in this series
During this book, we get into the guts of some settlement building, nation development and there's quite a bit of dungeon delving.

Couldn't finish. The swearing thing, was funny in first book and the reason the author gave for it happening worked well, but making Sela the one reporting him ,instead of a automated system function, just made me despise her. I don't swear at all but the though of a close friend forcibly controlling my thoughts (language is thought) just angered me to no end. I kept reading for a bit but every time I would I would encounter Sela in the story I just though "authoritarian, language controlling, harpy queen" and finally I had to quit reading the book. Vary disappointed because I really really enjoyed the first book.

More fun for Rocky
This series is different, yet familiar. Instead of the main character deciding to jump into a game that becomes “real”, the world around him (and everyone) has collapsed into a new reality where MMORPG game mechanics rule the day. This makes the entire world populated by “players”, rather than a mix of players and non-player characters. And it seems that death is permanent. Maybe.
Rocky survived the first few weeks in book 1, and now he has a large group of followers in his village to fight with and fight for. And there is plenty to fight. Book 2 provides plenty of clues that there is even more to this planetary cataclysm. What comes in the next books?

I love this sub genre. This book is a good continuation and explains more of the series magic framework. The abilities and power as well as some of the history is starting to be exposed. The main character and the secondaries are likeable and follow-able. My main gripe is with the writing style. Sometimes the author portrays an aspect change to0 rapidly and it's easy to miss causing sentence reread. Some parts are extremely well described while others are the last four words of a sentence. Annoying but not killer as the story is fun and engaging with more to come... Cliff hanger not welcome please.. I would give 4.5 but rounded up as I want more.

Lots of good ideas, execution good
What I liked about this book as a sequel, is it successfully had a self contained story, as well as expanded the world for future books.
This makes it a good story in my eyes. I enjoyed the main characters emotional changes through the book, and the way characters had to adapt to the challenges faced in this story.

Good book with an enjoyable plot
There was alot of action in the book and it was enjoyable the cliffhangers are driving me crazy wanting to read the next one, only thing i would of liked more was more settlement building but it is more of the breath between the fights so it helps relax the pace the way it is.

While I definitely enjoyed the first book in the series (Equalize) this book was even better! I know it can't be easy for indie authors to make their start, and the first book was a little rough, but this author improved on his story by leaps and bounds and his writing has evolved well. He has done a fantastic job of expanding the plot while keeping it exciting, tragic at some points, and humorous. He is not afraid to put your emotions through the ringer. I would definitely recommend this series. Keep up the great work Mr. DeBruyn!

Awesome fun, well balanced story telling.
This was a great read, the style of writing seems notably improved from the first book was already pretty good. I like the balance and sense of struggle. The base building is off to a slower start but has real promise. Excited to see where the series goes in the future!

Great book! Everything that you want in a litrpg. Quests, leveling up, heros, monsters, and more to keep you wanting to know what comes next. In fact you will find yourself turning pages well past your bedtime.

Loved the book!! Really increased the lore and developed the story line. Lots of great jokes too! Even a Rocky and bullwinkle one!!

Hoo wee
A truly terrible story. Started reading and it wouldnt let me go. The story kept me enthralled hour after hour. I ended up only getting 4 hours of sleep before work. Call in sick if you get this book because it's a struggle to put down minimal typos and a great read your going to want to have a few days to devour and digest it. Oh and that double cliffhanger at the end was a kick to the gut. Warning stay away if you have things to do.

Lots of fighting
I enjoyed this continuation of the series but was disappointed that so much of the story is combat. I enjoy city/community development story lines as well and this aspect is only lightly covered between battles against overwhelming odds. There is lots to like in the underlying story lines about Gaia and the historic earth.

Loved it
Fast paced page turner with interesting characters that you can instantly root for. Definitely glad that I gave the series a second chance. Book 2 is better than book 1 can't wait for book 3

Great improvement over book 2
This continued an interesting story and expanded on it quite a bit. It’s apocalyptic in nature but has some nice world building going on that I hope the author continues.

A good continuation
This book picks up where the last left off and keeps the story rolling nicely. The struggle continues with new friends and enemies. I'm looking forward to reading what happens next.

Moves story along and sets up interesting lead ins for future books
Continues to grow characters, see both good and bad effects on characters state of mind of what happens. Slowly filling in backstory with both hints and history and setting up a variety of story lines for future.

Enjoyable
I loved the first book and loved this one. The mc can at times be quite mopey and annoying but most of the time he is interesting and the story and other characters make up for it in spades. Looking forward to the next book!

Highly enjoyable, book three practically waiting to be written
I have been waiting for this book and i was not let down. I'm exited to see where things go within the world building and the reveals of Gaia's past. Im sure book 3 will be packed with many big revelations

Excited!
Ryan DeBruyn takes us back to his Ether Collapse Saga in Book Two; Excise. Great addition to the series, Ryan does a good job blending action and suspense. A few twists I was not expecting.

Wonderful. An epic LitRPG series with the second book being a great addition to the first. Compelling and engaging from the beginning right to the end. I didn't want it to ever be over. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

An enjoyable follow up to this series. I like the system and story. Some the characters need work though and the MC is a bit of an idiot but I look forward to the next installment.

I was a bit sceptical but then I loved it
I gave it five stars because it manages to check a few must have's boxes.
A bit of kingdom building, some sweet loot, resonable power progression, dialogue is great and the characters relatable.

Good switch from book one with a more town focus instead of individual one. Some interesting bits thrown in about a MUCH larger story. Excited for more to come!

Very good read
Excellent second book, I loved the growth of the characters. My favorite parts are the ones in the shop and exploring what is a new world opening to them with the blend of science and magic. I love the gadgets.
