Come to Night Meadow Island, where love is flowing, sisters rule and magic is real.
When Corinne Knight wakes up with amnesia, she doesn’t know how to use the magic her family claims she has. Considering she and her twin run a magical baked goods business, the fact that she can’t remember how to spell the recipes is bothersome. But that’s not her biggest frustration; her attraction to Noah Wilson is. Because even though he seems open to a relationship, Corinne senses something in their past has kept them apart, and she’s afraid it’s so big she’ll regret letting him into her heart again.
Noah Wilson isn’t sure what the Knight women are thinking when they push Corinne at him knowing she can’t remember their tumultuous relationship that crashed and burned. He knows going along with their plan to minimize the problems he and Corinne had is like making a deal with the devil, but he can’t help hoping that it’s a chance for the woman he’s always loved to realize her true feelings too… Before her memory comes back to ruin it all.

I finished it. Hated it. Couldn't stand either MC for long but the Zero takes number one spot for most deserving of crotch punches.
For a girl who knows how to hold a grudge and wont even consider burying the hatchet unless there is some serious groveling, this book failed on all counts.
Don't try and sell me a second chance romance when you're going to turn your heroine into a mentally unbalanced person and give me a Zero who's a back stabbing, egotistical dirt ball. Just don't.
Did heroine bury her head in the sand and ultimately humiliated herself when she refused to believe the boy she loved really meant he was breaking up with her ... on the eve of prom, through text, no less? YES. Did she then become the woman scorned and hold a grudge for years! Yes. But did said boy lead her on for years than decided to not tell her until the last possible moment that he wasn't coming back after college and that he didn't want a long distance relationship because he was off to bigger and better things AKA his football career? Hell yes.
Did Zero only come back to town AFTER his football career was shattered by an injury? Yes. Did he decide he still loved and missed the heroine AFTER his first choice (football) sunk like the Titantic? Yes.
Should any of that endear him to me as a reader? Nope.
Both MCs were nuts and not the cute nutty kind of crazy that goes well together. I honestly didn't see why either one was so hung up on the other. She sounded emotionally unstable and clingy and he sounded like he wanted a pat on the back for loving her crazy until it became more of a burden to bare than anything else.
Ugh, and don't get me started on how the cover doesn't match the story at all! From the tidbits we get of the rest of the sisters (and mom?) they all sound like they have mommy/daddy issues and wouldn't know a healthy relationship if they magically conjured one, so I'm not tempted to read any more.
Witch Forgotten is book one in the Witches of Night Meadow series by V. Vaughn. It’s a sweet second chance romance.
Corinne and Noah have loved each other a long time, but drama and immaturity when teenagers has kept them apart. Now fast forward several years. Corinne has lost her memory and now her family is playing matchmaker.
Not a lot of witchiness in this story. It does have a bit of drama to keep things moving along. The characters and world aren’t very memorable. I enjoyed the Knight sisters. They are interesting. I would have liked to know how Corinne got amnesia. The openings a bit weak. It was just an ok read for me.
Witch Forgotten was a nice sweet tame romance for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I received a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! When I can, I will collect this book!
This is the first book in a new series, and it is not a serial. This is a whole book and about 170 pages long. This is a novel for adults. The cover looks mysterious.
Noah and Corinne have loved each other a long time, but immaturity and drama in high school and college have kept them apart. Corinne loses her memory, and her family plays matchmaker. This read was filled with magic and drama. I love how the Knight family comes together and the Wilson family is pretty fabulous too! There isn’t much action, but there is plenty of amnesia and new memories. I enjoyed this magical love story! I can’t wait to read the stories for the rest of the Knight family.
I highly recommend to fans of magical and witchtastic stories who want a touching romance with family drama mixed in!
There was nothing special about this storyline, just a normal love story. Quite boring too. Sorry to leave a negative review. I wished there would have been more magic, more excitement, or even more history about the island. There was nothing interesting about the characters either, only that Corinna had a tantrum and her sister used a spell. I read it till the end in hope something exciting will happen, but no all was quite predictable. It could have been more interesting with a curse or black magic involvement or something, more detailed. It was just to plain for so powerful witches.
This is a great start to a new series that I couldn't put down. The author quickly drew me into the story with intriguing characters, a second chance romance, humor, a bit of mystery and so much more. I enjoyed getting to know these characters and following along as they navigated their way back to each other. I look forward to reading what happens next.
Google is free, which is what makes it a disappointing experience to read books by authors who categorically refuse to avail themselves of it.
Corrine is severely brain injured in an accident. At a minimum, she has a grade 4 or 5 concussion with severe neurological side effects. Not one person considers taking her to a doctor or even calling a nurse hotline and instead everyone immediately decides to use her traumatic brain injury as an opportunity to manipulate and deceive her.
What I find particularly galling is that Corrine cannot trust her own family, friends, or community while she is most vulnerable. Every single person steps up to take advantage of her while she is brain injured. Not one character steps up to protect Corrine. Not one. Not her mother. Not her sisters. No one. And certainly not the author. If anything, the tension in the book stems entirely from the characters working as hard and fast as they can to coerce Corrine before she recovers. Every time Corrine remembers something that someone did to her or her family, she determines that she is the person at fault. The woman who tormented her little sister in high school? Corrine is wrong/bad for taking her sister’s side. The guy who broke up with her? It’s Corrine who is selfish/immature for not taking him back the moment he decided that he wanted to get back together (and, really, if he’d been able to fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL would he have wanted her back or is she just convenient?).
Title: Witch Forgotten Series: Witches of Night Meadow #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: V. Vaughn Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #PRN #Witches #5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• 💢 Wowzer i’m totally impressed, this book is fantastic.
🔹️ Corinne Knight is Powerful Witch on a pretty little island in Maine, well with her mother and all her sisters. Yep Knights through the centuries only have girls. Corinne has amnesia and can’t remember a thing, except bits and pieces. OMG someone help her she hasn’t a clue how she is going to make it let alone bake with her twin. Can she bake?
🔹️Noah is a lobsterman by trade, but he do or be anything for Corinne even construction. Just so he can talk with her. Maybe her amnesia was a good thing.
interesting start to a new series. this author is amazing.. the writing is always spot on.. these characters were enjoyable and made me happy. i enjoyed the plot and it was fast paced.
This was.. okay. I liked the light-hearted, kind of silly magic vibe, and the setup could have been fun.
It was completely obvious that the whole thing was a setup, which.. fine. But, did literally no one think that maybe they should consult a doctor about the head injury? The hero was a jerk and the heroine was mentally unwell. I especially loved how the moment she gets her memory back, the hero just shuts down, doesn't listen to what she's saying because he's heard it all before, and refuses to talk it through with her one more time now that she knows what happened in the past. I mean, pine for her for ten years and continually try to reason with her, but the instant she finds out what happened in the past after her amnesia wears off, he won't even discuss it with her ONE TIME after the successful week they'd had, where she showed that she was ready to move past whatever it was? It just proves that he didn't love her all that time. That is just not how love works.

I love it! When Corinne Knight wakes up & has no clue who or where she is, it's pretty scary to say the least. She has been told that she lost her memory when she blew the roof off the guest house they use as their work kitchen & got knocked out by something hitting her on the head. She has a splitting headache until one of her sisters puts her hands on her head & takes the pain away. She finds out she lives on an island, she & her whole family are witches, they run a bakery. When she has to relearn everything over, she sees things about herself that she doesn't like too much. She also sees Noah Wilson, something about him really sparks her & she is wanting to get to know him. Kay, her twin, asks Noah if he will replace the roof. She sends Corine to get a tarp & tells Noah that she remembers nothing. They are hoping that if the two are together long enough, Corinne will remember how much she loves him when her memory comes back it won't matter why she wouldn't talk to him. He is unsure, when she finds out they tricked her she is going to be mad. He doesn't know if he can stand losing her again. But he decides to go for it when she asks him out. Little bits of things are coming back to her piece by piece, & she is seeing herself, through different eyes. She tries to be a better person. She is going to let go of the old grudges that have been holding her back & get over her driving fear. She & Noah are getting closer. She knows they were together in school but no one will tell her why they broke up. She is pretty sure it was something she did because none of her family will tell her & Noah won't either. She doesn't want to mess this up. She knows Noah when to collage, on a football scholarship, hoping to join the NFL. But that dream got ruined by getting his back broke by a tackle that damaged 3 vertebrae. It still causes him a lot of pain & spasms if he over does it. He came home... but that's as far as she has gotten so far. No one will tell her more. The day the roof gets finished Noah is picking up his tools. He was a little tired, he had been out on the boat earlier helping his dad pull up the lobster traps. They run a lobster trapping business. Noah's carpentry trade is kind of a hobby. So he is really pushing it. When he goes to pick up the toolbox His back locks up & he almost collapses when the pain hits him. Bri, the sister, who had been helping him rebuild the roof along with their mother, Eileen, help take the pain away enough to get him in his truck & get him home. His mom is waiting for them to get him there. A few days later Corinne takes Bri to a shop to get her a top for helping with roof. They a getting coffee, & she suggests that Bri might want to take up make up schooling since she likes it so much. While they are discussing that, her memory hits her like a freight train, she remembers everything. She goes to Noah's house to talk to him but the memory is still so fresh in her mind she doesn't control her anger & goes off on him about the grudge that has kept them apart for almost ten years. He sees no way around it & asks her to leave. On the way home she realizes what an idiot she had been & how stupid it was to say the things she did to him. She goes home to talk to her sisters. She had told everyone he stood her up for prom, but he had told her after they had a fight he wasn't coming. She lied to everyone hoping that he would be there. She also learned that her memory had not been lost because of a head injury but because of a spell gone awry by her youngest sister, Bri. She had been hoping to make her forget she disliked Noah for a few hours, Not make her lose it for weeks. She was not too pleased. After a few weeks she let her know she was not holding it against her & she was alright about it. After a month of going around making apologies to a lot of people for things she remember doing, she had one more to do. Noah. She got the football she had taken from him, when he left for collage & took it to his house to apologize for the way she acted. He was surprised to see her, & very happy that she could finally let go of the past. He was glad to be able to tell her he loved her & hear it in return. It was good!
Witch Forgotten begins the Witches of Night Meadow series with a tale of a witch with amnesia who was apparently very good at holding a grudge against the man she loves but will no longer acknowledge that emotion to him, and more importantly, to herself.
Noah has returned to Night Meadow Island after an injury ended his football career, the very career and choices he made long ago that lead to losing the woman who held his heart. Even though Corinne cannot remember their past, Noah is fully aware of what happened between them. Her family has convinced Noah that Corinee’s amnesia is the perfect time for a second chance at getting their love right this time around. Noah is playing with fire, and he knows it… but for the chance at having Corinne back in his life, he’ll take the risk.
I am so torn on Witch Forgotten. It’s a good story, I’ve enjoyed this author’s work in the past so it’s not the storytelling that has me conflicted here. It’s what the characters do that doesn’t sit well far too often. Corinne has an injury bad enough that she cannot remember the past or even be certain that some of her memories of what she can do are correct. Under those circumstances, I would be so angry when I recovered to find that my mother, my sisters, and yes, even the guy I still love manipulated me while I was vulnerable. That I gave a jerk who I’d ignored for a very long time because of the pain, hurt, and humiliation he caused back then yet another chance to maybe do it all again in the present, just didn’t feel right. It makes a good story but I felt uneasy throughout the story knowing facts that Corinne didn’t.
Corrine and Noah will have a short time to find their way back to each other, and Noah knows he’s on borrowed time. When Corrine does fully recover her memories, neither she nor Noah is exactly sure what to do with their relationship now. Watching them figure that out was an enjoyable experience.
So. I had fun here, even when there were parts of the story that made me uncomfortable, I still enjoyed the overall story and most of the characters. I will pick up the next book in the series and see how my reactions change with a different couple. Not committing to continuing the series just yet… but it’s possible.
Book one in a series of romances based on a small island off the coast of Maine, USA. This one features the 2nd eldest of 4 sisters, Corinne, who was involved in a small accident which has left her with amnesia. With a cottage in the garden of the house shared by the four sisters and their mother needing a new roof Corinne and her twin set off to ask for help getting it repaired/replaced. On the way she meets a local lad and instant attraction flares between them, but there seems to be some slight hesitation on the lads behalf while her sister also seems slightly dubious about continuing the meeting. However Corinne is adamant and, once she knows Noah is still single with no girlfriend decides that, regardless of her amnesia, she is going to have a go at snaring him. During the few days it takes for the roof to be repaired Corinne and Noah start to fall in love but Noah knows that when Corinne regains her memory she will also regain much of her old self and he may lose her for good. An interesting romance novel and it spells out the dangers of being too focused on single things, remembering and brooding over small things for years to come instead of forgetting and getting over what happened. It wouldn't be a romance without a happy ending but you will need to read it yourself to discover whether Corinne and Noah end up together or whether they agree to go their separate ways. An great read for an evening if you are in the mood for a modern romance with a little witchy interest.
Corinne and Noah had a relationship when they were in school when Noah was going away to college on a football scholarship she was unhappy because he wanted to break up with her and she was having none of it. But the day before her senior prom Noah was supposed to return as her date but she called he broke up with her for good. Corinne did not take it well and never forgave him, but she went off to college and had other relationships but none like Noah. Noah is so frustrated with her that when she wakes up after an accident she is different from the way she was a couple of hours earlier and her family for some reason will not tell her anything about her past because they told her she needs to remember on her own. She sees Noah and decides whatever happened before she wants to date him now she tells him no matter what the problem was before that she is asking him out even though he is reluctant and she also convinced him to repair their roof that was damaged in the accident and he agrees. A very entertaining read. This is an interesting laugh out loud funny book. I purchased this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sometimes family makes a difference, even though we don’t see it at the time. Corrine Knight is a good witch, just like her mother and sisters, and the small community she lives in. The area sits on an island called Night Meadow, off the coast of the state of Maine.
Corrine held onto the distant past to the point that it would affect her future. What if she didn’t remember the grudges, especially those associated with the man she loved, Noah Wilson. Would they be together like everyone else knew they should be?
Vaughn’s tale is a fast read. Corrine and her family add to the fun because they’re witches. Readers learn about their powers as the characters sprinkle them. One minute, readers learn they can help raise the trusses of a building going up, the next they’re healing through the deep tissue of someone’s back, or they’re encouraging the golf ball of a girl on a date to land in the hole. The witches and their shenanigans are amusing to say the least.
Witch Forgotten is a wholesome love story and is for those who like contemporary fiction combined with magic, especially if the magic involves witches.
Sweet story. Corinne loses her memory, and decides she's going to make Noah fall in love with her again. As the story progresses and parts of her memory come back, she becomes aware that she sure can carry a grudge. Noah enjoys the days with her, yet fears what repercussions there'll be when Corinne's memory returns.
Magic doesn't play a big role in the story. The names of the chickens are awesome. Character development is the focus of the story, and it was sufficient, though not stunning. The plot revolves around Corinne's and Noah's dates, her learning about herself from an outside perspective, and bits of memory as they return. I'm disappointed there isn't more of Maine or island living described.
Do I need to read books before this one: no Would I read more of the series: yes Cliffhanger: no POSSIBLE TRIGGERS Sex: kisses Language: 0 F words, 17 Lord's name in vain, 0 S words Violence: none
When Corinne Knight, one of four sisters and witches of Night Meadow, wakes up with amnesia, none of her family wants to tell her about her past, or why she has an uneasy feeling giving in to her attraction to Noah, who obviously seems in love with her. What will happen when she gets her memory back? A nice enough story, but oh! did I roll my eyes at Corinne. She is supposed to be closer to 30 than to her teens, and she came over as a completely spoilt brat with no regards to the feelings of others. Noah was way too good to be true, and to be quite honest, the whole plot, and the ending, were too constructed and unrealistic for my taste (Unrealistic in combination with a story about witches, yeah I do have a way with words.... ;) ). On the whole, quite entertaining, but nothing I would like to follow further, really - and that is completely a matter of my own personal taste and does not really say anything about the story being good or bad, I am certain other people will love it.
Corinne is a witch without a memory. All she knows is she has a family of witches who love her and a handsome man who might love her too. But something obviously happened to keep her away from him and Corinne doesn't know how she'l feel when her memory finally does come back. This was a nice little paranormal romance, full of interesting characters. It was all about giving up the past, even if it was a little forced with the memory loss, and accepting people for who they are now so that they can freely love each other. Corinne is a fairly immature adult but the memory loss causes her to grow up and the premise behind the story was a little different from a bunch of other romances because of that. I would have liked a little more magic and there were some editing errors so it was a solid four out of five stars.
Corrine and her family are all witches and live on a small island off the New England Coast. Corrine and her sisters are known by the locals to be witches and they do baking and dress designs and everything they do is infused with spells to make people happy! Corrine has problems with others due to holding grudges more than 10 years after she felt slighted by , including a guy she loved in high school. Her youngest sister in an effort to get Corrine to forget the past so she can move on places a spell on her that makes her forget the problems and pain of a 17 year old girl but is now 30. I won't give spoilers except to say that everything comes out but the end of the story and Corrine needs to come to terms with her past if she is to have a future!
With a little witch stuff thrown in. Premise is ok--family of female witches in a community where everyone knows that they are witches. One of the sisters messes with the memories of another sister in hopes that she'll forgive and accept her last true love.
No sex or strong language, suitable for all age groups. The next installments in the series are apparently about the other sisters getting their HEAs. I liked it better than I would a standard romance, mainly because of the occasional magic exhibited by the family. I found it to brew an OK, short read.
He's loved her all his life but he went away for collage and broke her heart. When he returned she never forgave him but everyone knows they belong together. After an accident leaves her with amnesia it could be a second chance at the love he never got over and her family say neither has she. But what will his little witch do when her memory comes back? Will she feel betrayed by him again? How will she feel about what her family has done even if they were only trying to help? A fun read.
I reallllly wanted to like this. It just fell flat. Overall Meh. While the romance was cute I was hoping for a bit more spice.
SPOILERS I didn’t like the MC much, she started to redeem herself but then all of a sudden gets memories back and is acting like a brat again. The supposed reason is that all the memories feel fresh and like they just happened so she’s reacting like she did back then. I don’t buy it. She grew up so much and knew how bad she was, then just poof that doesn’t matter?
It would have been better if Noah didn’t take her back..

A delightful tale about a family of witches living on a small island off the coast of Maine. Running the family business and a bakery can be a work load but add a bit of a snafu that occurs with a bit of magic and temper tantrum and all of one of theirs memories are gone! Crazy fun ensures as the whole island seems to learn about forgiveness and holding grudges.
This is good. This is about Corinne Knight , who wakes up with amnesia and doesn't know how to use the magic her family claims she has. She and her twin run a magical baked goods business and uses her magic to spell the recipes. She is also attracted to Noah Wilson and he seems to like her too. Noah can't understand why her family is pushing her to him when their relationship crashed and burned and he was responsible. Have to unravel the mystery as to why it crashed and burned. Recommend.
I have this book a five star rating because I enjoy reading it from the beginning to end. I love the story line, about family and love the messages about forgiving and being brave to do thing that you scared of doing. Can't wait to read the next book in the series. Well done V. Vaughn a must read.
I loved this story and trying to guess the truth behind Corrine and Noahs story. But none of my guesses were close to what made the Knight woman follow through and not allow Corrine to use magic to recover her memories! This story has family meddling, romance, and reminds you why holding grudges from the past can ruin the future.
The character development was good and the story is interesting. The plot doesn’t have many surprises except for how Corrine will actually get past her past. It’s a nice romance that is pretty light on the witch part of the story. Witchcraft is more like a painting on the wall than being central to the plot development. The world building is enough to keep the focus on Noah and Corrine.
Actually purchased this book on the recommendation of another author I follow on facebook ... and I love it. The main characters are great, the love of a lifetime story was fun to follow. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
This was a sweet story. It has a lot of drama as the events unfold. It is extremely well written and the characters are stunningly developed. It is a story that keeps you engaged in it. This is a must read and will not disappoint.
