My first manga! I loved the art: the intricate details on the demons, the charming colored panels, and the expressions on the faces of children and demon alike. The story becomes more sprawling and engaging chapter by chapter.
Amazing story, really unexpected story plot, unique. But I think I still want to see the anime version of The Promised Neverland made the same as in the manga in season 2
The Promised Neverland is a story taking place in the future year 2048, where the characters Emma, Norman, and Ray live in the Grace Field House where children are cared for by Elizabeth, the keeper of the facility. While everything appears lovely at a first glance, the further the story goes it is revealed to be darker than it seems. What is this darkness, you may ask? Read the books and find out for yourself! The twists and turns of the story that I have read so far are genuinely really cool, and I’d recommend you go and check out the books if you are interested.
As of finishing the tenth entry in the story, I am thoroughly enjoying the story thus far. The characters are fun to watch succeed, the story is dark and intriguing, and the art style of every book is absolutely spectacular! It’s probably my favorite series to date. Admittedly, the story can feel rushed at times, where the pacing just goes forward lightning-fast, but that doesn’t harm the narrative too much. Also, I’d like to mention that the books can get very graphic and gory at times, especially later on down the line, so if you aren’t too keen on violence of that measure, then you might want to avoid the books this time. All in all, I enjoyed what I’ve read of the story so far, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is into a dark story with even darker characters.
WOW! Okay so my cousin showed me the first season of 'The Promised Neverland' show version on Netflix and I really liked it. But... she said that the 2nd season of the show version did not follow the manga so people don't really like it soooo I was like I can't just end it here and not know what happens! And so, I decided to read the manga online and, although it took time to get used to compared to watching it on tv, I really enjoyed it!! I am super excited to see how they end this deep story! [also no spoilers but ahhhh phil :((( ]
When I first began to read this I was unsure of what it would entail. I was worried it would be too child like as all of the characters are aged 11 and below. Well, let me tell you my worries were so wrong. This manga captured my attention from the start. The character build up and plot twists really did keep me immersed. I would not have expected many of the turns the book takes. It is a horror based manga and includes demons with a hierarchy in family and group structures. This book can be for your mid teen but also one you would love into adult hood. Every manga fan must read this.
Read 1-8 ahead of allowing my kid to read. Probably best for the 13+ as it recommends. I enjoyed them except that parts are confusing that are either a result of translating to English or are part of the author or genre style: flashbacks/foreshadowing portions without acknowledgment that it is such. Ps I actually withheld #8 from him, in part because of content but also because it introduces new characters etc and we’d planned to give it a break for while. There are so many!
4.5 Stars Rounded up. Really good series and concept, totally recommend. Only problem is that the story stretches out a lot like I just found out it’s not done after the 10th book. 😔😔 I was hoping it would finish on book 10 , but we’re not even close. So I may not continue reading the series. But aside from that great first manga, and I love the characters. Does anyone have any recommendations for manga that is similar to this?
I read the entire series in a week and don't regret a thing. The story was incredible, had stunning art work, beautifully written characters, and was really well put together. I will say this is not for the faint of heart though, that tends to happen when a higher predator than humans exist. My only criticism is that the anime didn't skip some of the best arcs . . .
Best anime and manga I've ever read. The art the story even though doesn't have a big and long dialogue or word count it still makes commentary on the current world topics. It almost made me want to become vegan. Peta would prove!
Genuinely the best storyline and characters I’ve read in years. Yes Emma was naive and inexperienced and I doubted her from the beginning bc I hate overly naive characters but she did grow and develop so much as a character.
First manga series I ever read. Literally love it so much absolutely amazing. If you've seen the anime I 100% recommend and even if haven't. Such a good series
First time reading a manga and i really enjoy this story! So thorough and takes you on wild rides - I can’t get my nose out of it and excited to see what happens next
