In the book LETHAL INJECTION we were introduced to the main character in this book, Mark Gregory. His only daughter Joni Gregory, a student at the University of Hawaii studying Marine Biology, was brutally murdered by the Serpiente Rojo drug cartel when she accidentally stumbled upon a drug drop off. Mark helped hunt down her killers and they in turn died unpleasant deaths. The Cartel was shut down by the DEA and they harbored hatred towards Mark for the part he played in this. A year later, they made their move. They threatened the life of his fiancé and made him do assignments on Hawaii to assist them in re-establishing themselves in the drug trade. Working in conjunction with the DEA and the FBI he attempts to bring them down once again. This is a fast paced story of his hair raising brushes with the Cartel and dealing with corruption in the DEA. Once again a loved one of his is murdered and this sets him off again on a course of retribution. He has to act and think like the bad people in order to bring about justice. He strongly believes in a ‘life for a life’. With this philosophy he finds himself at constant odds with the law. He is constantly challenged by his conscience due to his vigilante activity and vindictive thoughts. In the end, he is able to satisfy his conscience and the needs of Justice as he sees it.
