Privileged Victims: How America's Culture Fascists Hijacked the Country and Elevated Its Worst People

Rate this book
Privileged Victims dismantles America’s culture of mediocrity by exposing the tyranny driving identity politics and its suffocating obsession with race and gender. America’s worst ideas and people are rising to the top, thanks to a rancid culture that has turned every part of our lives into a fight between so-called “privilege” and entitled brats claiming “victim” status. The country is under siege and America’s most ferocious enemy is already our privileged victims. On university campuses, in the news media, and in Hollywood, race, gender, and sexuality determine who should advance and who should be taken down a peg. Driven by “social justice” and governed by “intersectionality,” out-of-control college students, school administrators, journalists and titans of the entertainment industry divide and rank us on an infinite scale of grievance—the more of them, the better. And God have mercy on any individual deemed to benefit from “privilege.” In gripping detail, Eddie Scarry uncovers the perversion behind social justice and its identity-first dogma that’s replacing America’s meritocracy, tracing its origins in academia and shining a light on the havoc it has wrought over the course of three decades. Bewildered citizens mistakenly believe that it’s a matter of political correctness gone too far or the ailing symptoms of a country that has grown too sensitive. The truth is much it's a deliberate, malignant reorganization of American life and the replacement of merit with mediocrity is the ultimate destination. “How did everyone in America get so unhappy all of a sudden? In part, because it pays. Eddie Scarry lays out the scam in this infuriating and fascinating book. It’ll make you never want to complain again, just for the sake of being countercultural.” —Tucker Carlson, Host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Fox News and Author of Ship of Fools "What I love about Eddie is his courage. He knows the outrage mob is constantly coming and he doesn't care. Some of us call that being a First Amendment advocate. Count me as a fan and a reader."—Megyn Kelly

Because of Privileged Victims I finally get what is going on in America. Words like “woke,” “racism,” “white privilege,” and blank-“phobia” have new definitions and I didn’t understand that. I have a PhD in cultural studies and I taught courses experientially through games and play, but the definitions of these terms were different in the 90’s. Since I have refreshed my dictionary through Scarry’s masterful book, I can now hear a news caste without cocking my head in confusion. Not that I am in agreement with these semantic twists that demonize those who built my country, and excuses those who want to tear apart everything that was built. It was just great to finally know what was going on. Are you confused? Maybe Scarry can help you, too. He is Black and he is gay. With these two identities he could ride roughshod over the privileged. He does not want to be a part of the charade.

This book is a must-read for anyone who does not understand our current societal struggles as perceived by the progressive left of our country. Mr. Scarry very accurately describes how the "social justice police" have taken over and will "cancel/punish" anyone (read "white privileged individuals") who do not bow and scrape for forgiveness for all their past wrongs!!!! He includes all necessary footnotes to prove his points.

Mr. Scarry does a wonderful job, using truth, humor, and sarcasm (as needed) to tell us how America has devolved to the place we are in 2021. It is a great read and kudos to Eddy Scarry and his willingness to put the truth out there.

Keep up the good work.

Privileged Victims takes you on a tale of journey of pointing out the craziness of the "Culture Fascists" of today. How we elevate the bottom of our society to the top in Politics, Entertainment and Social Media, as well as Academia.

Eddie Scarry points out how we shouldn't back down to the raging mob of victims. His take documents how we've become a people governed by emotions and how the real facts of issues, cases are no longer even looked at.

If you want an inside peak about the issues of wokism and the insane lefty loons this book is a good dive into the madness.
