What happened to that valuable, antique, first edition of John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress handed to Julian by his dying friend? The book is gone, just as Sharlan Tan arrives in town.
My favorite of this collection is the last book. The plots are sometimes outrageous & hardly believable but that's one of the fun things about them. In the last book, there were a few characters whose names made me laugh out loud! There's the false prophet Sharlan Tan (charlatan), the museum curator, Hierro Glyphen (hieroglyph), & Burt Jungle (Bo Jangles) who danced after being pretend " healed" by the false prophet/healer. There may be more even in the other books, but these were hilarious!
I gave this series only 4 stars because it was very wordy and hard to read. The story line was a good one, I just think it could have been said in a lot shorter terms. If you can wade thru the verbiage, it has a definite message. I don't usually read religious books, but I made an exception in this case and I am very glad I did.
This set of six books is well worth reading. They are all enjoyable and interesting mysteries that are not always easy to figure out. They are not all murder mysteries either, but you don't need a death to have an intriguing mystery to solve. I enjoyed all six of these great books.
The storylines show promise, but there are so many issues.
Lots of homophone confusion, the usual "to/too" and "there/ their" issues with a sprinkling of "break/brake" and "led/lead" just for fun.
The author really needs to check a dictionary. Murder is most certainly not a misdemeanor. That's just weird. A ruse is a trick, a con, a deceit. It is not an argument. A "price-fighter" I'm guessing would be an avid coupon shopper, not someone with muscles. Why does a person without a speech impediment suddenly start lisping? Maybe she meant to whisper?
A personal pet peeve: There is NO WAITING PERIOD to report a person missing, especially not 48 hours!
Maybe the stories are just in a poor order, but the longevity of the business bounces all over. 25 years, but it was handed down through several generations? No, 11 years because that's when Dora started working for her? Oh no wait, it's 10 years, but it was still inherited and she ran it in Pittsburgh first, but didn't employ Dora there. And she's always in her 80's, so the bounce from 25 to 10 makes no sense whatsoever.
The further I read the more preachy the books became. I don't mind a little, but the last story was over the top.

As soon as the reader is introduces to the main characters in this series, we learn how an 80 year old woman can solve the most puzzling mystery. There isn't a crime her intuition and attention to detail can't solve, even when the police in her town is stumped. I thoroughly enjoyed reading every story in this series.
Faith can be found all sorts of ways. A child has faith in their parents, our most hardest of faiths is in our religion. If we truly believe and have faith miracles happen every day. When a charlatan comes to town and tries to dwindle people of their money and faith someone has to stop him. That is just one story in the Molly Grey series. A must read!!
I have given this book four stars as it is the first out of six and I thought I would give my opinion after all six have been read. I have liked the first one.from Kan
I liked these books they are clean fast reads. They are Christian books & it’s so nice to read books that don’t have swearing in them & keep you interested till the end. Try them.
Miss Molly Gertrude Grey and her assistant Dira are quite the team when it comes to solving mysteries. With Dora's friend being a police detective they seem to be able to solve any mystery around .
These books are brilliant, they are a really good enjoyable read when I want something light and cosy to read,I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys cosy mystery stories.
The development of the characters in the first one leaves you wanting another. Luckily there were 6! Molly,Dora,Digby Papa Julian and let's not for the Sheriff,JJ-- all were great in their roles in the plot. I can't wait to see more!
This series was a delight to read. It is not often you find truly God filled books that keep your attention but it filled me with the warmth of God's love. Thank you!!
The stories in each one keeps your interest. I love Miss Molly and Dora. It could use a little more proofreading. An average reader may not notice, but I proofread a lot of books and can’t help it.
All of these books are books are very heart-warming and uplifting. Donna Doyle's characters are so likeable, and the mysteries are fun to read. I am sure if you like mysteries and clean Christian books, you will definitely enjoy these books. I had a very difficult time putting this series one f books down. Happy reading!
I've been griping for awhile about crude unnecessary language and sex exploits that add nothing to a book except words. The Molly Grey novels will leaving you feeling good and your jaws hurting from laughing and smiling so much. The novels were a pleasure to read. Thank for your wit and wisdom.
Absolutely loved this box set but book #6 was my favorite. All of the books shared God which is what I loved, mixed in with the humor. Book #6 showed the forgiving and reconciliation Spirit of God. I could feel His presence so strongly. I cried when they cried and rejoiced at the end when God moved by His mighty power.
These books keep you looking forward to the next adventure of Ms. Grey. She is an likable, believable character. The series not only entertain but the character's faith helps to strengthen your own by her example.
Marriage, betrayal and anything in between is covered in these sweet novels. The suspense keeps you hanging onto every word. Miss Molly and Dora are quick to discover when something is wrong.
