THE DUKE'S CAUTIOUS GOVERNESS: What an emotional story. It kept me spellbound from the beginning of the book all the way to the end. It was easy to relate to the emotions the characters were experiencing. Emotions such as shock, betrayal, disdain, pain, sadness, heartbreak, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, confusion and love. The lead female character, Agnes, is the daughter of an Earl. She is sheltered her whole life by her father. Her mother died when she was a baby. She knows nothing of the cruelty of the world and comports herself as the young lady she was brought up to be. When Agnes's father was lost at sea, she at nineteen going on twenty did not know what to do. She reached out to her relatives only to find herself rejected, criticized and rebuffed. She did not know why nor would anyone take her in. Due to her father's debts, her relatives squabbled over their share of Agnes's inheritance, her home, estate and the title. They took everything away from Agnes till she had nothing. With no one to care for her, look out for her or take her in, she turned to her father's close friend the Duchess of Dorset. The Duchess was able to allow Agnes the opportunity to go to the school for noble ladies that she owned. Here Agnes learned to be a governess. The Duchess also procured her a position with the Duke of Portsmouth. The lead male character is the Duke of Portsmouth or Victor. He is a twenty-six-year-old newly minted Duke. A year ago, his parents died in a carriage accident He has a four year old sister Georgia. Without parents Georgia has become undisciplined and wild. The young Duke is kind hearted and indulges Georgia. He allows her to do whatever she pleases because he feels she has suffered so much. Georgia's world is full of chaos. When Agnes arrives at the Duke's home, she realizes that there is something dreadfully wrong. She thinks ominously and assumes a lot. When the Duke and Georgia entered the room, she was surprised. She thought the Duke would be much older that he was. She then assumed Georgia was his daughter. Shortly, after a discussion, Agnes realizes how wrong she was. The rest of the story tell the tale about relationships. Agnes's relationship with her father, her relationship with her family, her relationship with her mother and her relationship with the Duke and more importantly her relationship with Georgia. The Duke has problems with his relationship with his staff, with running his estate, his relationship with Agnes and Georgia. He also has a problem with relating to nobility and society in general. Presently, Georgia's only comfort is her brother the Duke. She resists building a relationship with Agnes. So much drama and emotion. I loved reading this book. This is a must read. I highly recommend it. A LADY'S CHOICE: This is a very realistic book about Lady Emma Wentworth, daughter of the Duke of Corning and her suitor, Nigel Baldwin, the Duke of Lox. Emma meets Nigel at a ball. Somethings that Nigel says Emma assumes the worse. One minute she is warm to him and the next minute she is cold. Nigel has set his heart on Emma and does not understand her. It gets to the point where he thinks she does not care for him and he thinks of moving on. Emma keeps making assumptions and her cousin and best friend tell her that he is not like that. Emma relents and is determined to give Nigel the benefit of the doubt. Nigel is a very good man, honorable, respectful to everyone regardless of station. Emma sees this but somehow not convinced. After a while I was getting tired of reading about Emma's constantly second guessing Nigel's intention but I liked the story and continued reading. Nigel found Emma in compromising situations and he never judged her. Then Emma's life is endangered and Nigel enlists her father's help in finding her. This part of the story is very exciting as to who was behind Emma's kidnapping and why. You will never guess. I enjoyed reading this. I look forward to reading the extended epilogue AN EARL FOR HER HOPELESS HEART: I really liked this book. I was not bored, not once. The pace of the story was quite steady until conflict arose. Then the suspense took over. This is about thwarted love because of strict societal rules and regulations. The main female character is Lady Hestia. She is the daughter of the Earl of Nottingham. She is in her early twenties with two older sisters and one younger sister. She is steadfast in what she believes and is fierce to defend it. She has been taught to have patience and exercises that trait as often as necessary. She is kind, loving and independent. Because of her family's poor financial situation, she decides to take her fate into her own hands. She becomes a companion for the daughter of a Viscount. When Hestia accompanies her charge to a party, she accidentally bumps into Lord Leander Price, son of the Earl of Coventry and thus begins the trials and tribulations of their attraction to each other. Leander is the main male character and is a good looking, amiable, understands the rules of society and strives to earn the respect of his father. He is a dutiful son and never wishes to disappoint his parents. However, he is against his father's orders to marry him to a rich merchant's daughter to gain more wealth. He tries and tries to get his father to understand that he wishes to marry for love. His father's position is that love will grow after the wedding. The woman his father has chosen for him does not impress him, not one little bit. He feels there are so many disagreeable attributes to this woman, that he cannot in good conscience attach himself to her. When he meets Hestia, his whole world opens up like a blooming rose. Full of life, strength, beauty and integrity. At the present time Hestia is a companion and according to society she is not to be considered available. None of that matters to Leander. This is the beginning of the most difficult time for Hestia and Leander. It's a wonderful story of patience, grace, sensitivity, romance and love. There are mistakes along the way that compound their problems they face. But their faith in God puts them on a steadfast footing. I did also read the extended epilogue but has many unanswered questions about Leander's parents. I kind of have an idea that Leander's parents would vehemently discourage him from pursuing Hestia. After his mother's betrayal, I wanted to read about what happened between the three of them. Also, in the extended epilogue, Leander's parents die. I just wonder what happened. It appeared that the Earl of Coventry and his wife died at the same time. Anyway, other than that, I found the book extremely enjoyable and I do recommend it.
Although the stories are good I hate you don’t get the full ending unless you download an extra bit which I never do. Good thing about it is they are cheap reading…..
The Duke’s Cautious Governess When Agnes's father passes on she is left alone. She has been raised as a young lady should be and therefore she has no idea of what to do. Her family has rejected her. She has no one to turn to for help. They also have managed to take everything away from her. Her home, money, even the title. She turns to a friend of her father's, the Duchess of Dorset. The Duchess owns a school and allows Agnes to attend. There she learns to be a governess. The Duchess goes even further and gets her a position. She is to work for Victor, the Duke of Portsmouth. She will be in charge of his four year old little sister. The Duke has his problems also. His father never sat him down and taught him how to run the estate should anything happen to him. The Duke has a lot to learn. Will Agnes be able to handle spoiled little Georgia? Will Georgia like Agnes? Will Agnes be able to get over her depression and the agony she feels? Will Victor learn to run the estate, react to the staff as he should ? Will he be able to fit in with society and the nobility? Will Victor and Agnes learn what love is? Come along on this roller coaster ride. You will be glad you did. The story is very emotional, well thought out and well written. Characters are fleshed out.

This collection includes 3 Regency Romance books: The Duke’s Cautious Governess, A Lady’s Choice, and An Earl for her Hopeless Heart. Below is a review of one of the books to let you see what you can enjoy in this set!
*** Reviewing “A LADY’S CHOICE” *** Emma Wentworth had been told by her father, Aaron Michael Wentworth, Duke of Corning, that this season she had to be married or find a suitor. The Duke was in failing health and she needed to find a man willing to take care of the family he would leave behind. But she wanted a man who would have meaningful discussions with her, and not try to stop her from her painting and gardening enjoyments. She wanted a kind and giving man like her father, not a controlling dictator. And she wanted love.
Nigel Baldwin, the Duke of Lox, has also come to the ball to find a wife. This is the last season he has left to marry or he will not receive his rightful inheritance, with his father convinced he wouldn’t need all that money if he had no family by the age of twenty-five.
At the ball, Emma and her cousin Camilla Fielding, daughter of Duke Fielding of Cooksey, also looking for suitors, saw two handsome men enter that neither of them knew. When the men finally approached, they introduced themselves as Lord Baldwin, Duke of Lox, and his closest companion, Lord Christian, Duke of Rabney. Both signed the ladies’ cards for a dance, significantly signing for the last dance of the evening which was the highlight of the ball. Dancing with Lord Baldwin was enjoyable, and he was impressed at how well Lady Emma engaged in conversation. But when he told her that her step-mother had asked him to seek her out, and had described her as ‘obedient’, her hopes fell. He was just like all the other men and not what she wanted. Would she push away a man who could love her? Would he lose his inheritance or be forced to move on to another woman? Was Lady Emma willing to marry the boring Earl that her step-mother was pushing on her? Was something else going on?
This was a nice, lengthy book with many things going on. I enjoyed the story line and the characters. It did get a bit annoying to watch Lady Emma vacillate between interest in Lord Baldwin and conviction that he was like all other men and unacceptable. But soon she would have to make the right conclusion or face unhappiness. Grab your copy and follow the intrigue to see how it all plays out.

This is a most amazing collection of stories! If you love Regency Romances you have to get this collection. Such amazing stories that are written with the perfect amount of twists, turns, emotions and of course romance. Characters that have been lovingly written and are so well fleshed out and believeable. These stories will keep you entranced and enthralled til the very end. Recommend Reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
A Lady's Choice: I enjoyed Emma and Nigel's story, as well as Camilla and Bruce's. The book was well-written, the story-line and characters were great! The only thing that bugged me was that the Dukes were always referred to as the Dukes' titles, not their real names. I totally forgot what their given names were until the end (epilogue)!
An Earl for her Hopeless Heart: Hestia's father has made poor business choices, they are losing all their wealth. Hestia decides to take a job as companion to Lady Eugenia. While scouting for potential matches for Eugenia, Hestia bumps into Lord Leander Price, sparks fly and feelings develop. However, Lord Price is set to marry another woman, one he cannot stand, but his father insists. Can he defy his father and fight for love, or will he be forced to marry and be unhappy forever?
The Duke's Cautious Governess: When Agnes's father suddenly passes, she is left with nothing but shame and abandoned by everyone. She must take a job as governess to Georgia, the little sister of Duke of Portsmouth, whose parents recently passed. Feelings develop between Agnes and the Duke, but she is now beneath his class, it can never be possible. Agnes tries to understand why her family is ashamed of her. She alternates between drawing close to the Duke and pushing him away. Agnes's character is a bit too unsure and dramatic, but the story is good.
One of these stories I reviewed before so I'd just copied my review over. The funny thing is that they are listed from least liked to best.
The Duke's Cautious Governess
I really had to dredge through this story. The heroine is so into self pity that I had to stop and gag a few times, because any one that thinks they are that worthless because of their mother ought to be slapped in the head every time she uttered lowly, tarnished and worthless. The whole story drones on this way and it is very tedious. I am only reviewing this ARC because I usually like Fanny Finch's work. She should have kept this one in her head.
A Lady's Choice
I did not read this one before. I like Emma and her wanting to make her own choices for her husband is understandable. The Duke of Lox is a compelling man and I understand Emma's attraction to him. Emma overhears rumors about the Duke and instead of asking him about his intentions, she assumes things that aren't true. Of course with every Fanny Finch story, a disaster waits in the background for everything to come crashing down. I enjoyed this story.
An Earl for Her Hopeless Heart
This story set an anticipation of what is going to happen and who is going to win. Anticipation is the emotional setting for the plot and story. Will family or love will out just because a lady is trying to survive in a world of sharks. I like this story the best of all.
Three lovely clean stories. I have previously read The Dukes Cautious Governess i enjoyed it except for Agnes’s continuing flip flopping of is she or isn’t worthy.
A Lady’s Choice I thought reminded me of an eighth grade dance complete with all the drama. Emma constantly jumping to the wrong conclusion got old very quick. The best part for me was in chapter 20 when the Duke of Lox and the Duke Rabney came across what looked to be a couple of women in trouble. I still laugh when t think about it.
I was very disappointed with final story An Earl for her Hopeless Heart. I like to see the bad guys get their comeuppance or at least ask for forgiveness. Not the case with Leander’s parents. They disapproved of Leander and Hestia's relationship. Then Leander and Hestia marry and then the next thing I read concerning his parents they’re dead. Did I miss something?
Had I been either one of the hero’s I would’ve called it quits early in the game. The heroines all came across as whiny teenagers to me. Normally I enjoy Fanny Finch’s books these somehow missed the mark for me. I am however giving this a three because they are clean reads and Im still laughing about the women in trouble.
This was a book of negativity and self doubt, more by the female character than the male character, although by both. How each of them were brought up so differently, but what each was missing something that the other one had, which led to a perfect fit.
A Lady's Choice
The title of this book is true to it's story. It was a back and forth, back and forth story on the lady's part of trying to figure out emotionally what she should do. In the end love always prevails. You feel every emotion she goes through, too. Kudos to Fanny Finch. I would recommend this book.
An Earl for Her Hopeless Heart
I know that in the past there were arranged marriages, but what does one do when they fall in love with another? They weren't even officially courting. It was an uphill battle for both characters trying to deal with the obstacles put before them, especially the male character. This book is very well put together with all the characters in this story. That is when you know a book has been well written. It holds your attention from beginning to end. Kudos Fanny Finch for another great book.
Three suspenseful romantic stories a joy to read. THIS IS FIVE STARS ⭐️ (would not let me click them) The Dukes Cautious Governess: Agnes Hubbard never knew her mother and she just lost her father. Her fathers family who she thought loved and cherished her like her father always had, turned on her told her because her mother was a terrible person they could never accept her or help her. Agnes was turned away from her family. Her fathers family took e everything from her her father is a duke or was a duke. So Agnes had fallen from being an heiress to become the governess to the Duke of Portmouth’s little sister Georgia who is four years old and who also lost her mother. This is the Very Basic Beginning...I loved this story.....great characters wonderfully written engaging suspenseful romantic mystery you just cannot put down. And that is only the first Story....wait till you read the other two....loved this collection could not put it down. I was given this arc and I voluntarily leave this review.
Lady Hestia was so happy she accidentally met Lord Leander Price at the party. Immediately, they knew there was a special connection between them. Lord Price has a pre-arranged marriage already set in place with Miss Drusilla Sirey .He cannot deny his love for Lady Hestia, but must make a decision about his duty to his family. A Lady's Choice
Lady Emma Wentworth refuses to marry Lord Archibald. She has already given her heart to that handsome Duke of Lox. The Duchess of Corning has different plans for Emma, and not in a nice way. I did not expect the ending of this story. Totally surprised me. A definite must read. The Duke's Cautious Governess
Agnes Hubbard is disowned by her fathers family after his death. She is left destitute and disgraced. Agnes finds a job as governess to the Duke of Portsmouth, and cares for his 4yr old sister, Georgia. Agnes feels like a broken person who never knew her mother's love, but she now has an opportunity to make it right. All three books are great stories of ladies pursuing their hearts desire.
The first isThe Duke's Cautious Governess with Agnes and the Duke of Portsmouth's. A story about to people finding love after much loss. The second is The Lady's Choice with Emma and the Duke of Lox and Camille and the Duke of Rabney. This story is one of intrigue and suspense as well as romance. The third story An Earl for her Hopeless Heart with Lady Hestia and Lord Price is one of two people who find themselves in situations that gave to be overcome to be able to be together. All of which makes for an interesting read.
This is a three book Regency Romance collection box set. The clean and sweet stories are charming and exciting with no cliffhangers and all end with a satisfying HEA, after the hero and heroine of each book go through the various trials and hurdles before they reach their HEA. Well written, and well thought out - The Author does not disappoint. With adventure, suspense mystery, many unpredictable twists, intrigue, lots of emotion and romance - not necessarily in that order - will have readers who love these stories, asking for more.
Very Enjoyable Stories! As with all her Fanny Finch's books, you just can’t put them down. From the first page and through out I was totally captivated. I literally could not put it down. The characters have wonderful personalities and their wit and friendliness becomes very endearing, filled with delightful dialogue, humor, giggles and the push and pull of a romances waiting to happen! Remarkable emotions, and unforgettable characters. The Extended Epilogue rounds out the story very well
Love these stories. They are well written and tug at the heart. They are emotional, dramatic, some suspense, hopefulness and so much more. The ladies in these stories have life altering situations against them. The men they meet can save them and give them the love they need. Something stands in the way of that. Only through luck and love can they overcome. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
Three wonderful stories, beautifully written with engaging characters and strong storylines full of emotion and with twists and turns that keep you enthralled. I'd highly recommend this.
I was especially looking forward to the stories about the 4 friends that lost their fortune. I was quite excited when I realised this was a collection about the Duchess school.
I enjoyed all the stories and will definitely recommend.
You get three sweet romances for only .99. The stories are shorter but they are well written and you certainly will enjoy at least one of them. I happened to enjoy all three even though the last one was what really caught me. Mrs./Ms.Finch did a beautiful job with this collection.
Fanny hit a home run. I usually don't like anthologies but this book of 3 different stories is simply amazing. A must read if you want more than the same old tale. Really terrific book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 3 stories about 3 strong and resourseful women. A great read, thank you Fanny
3 Sweet stories.... Interesting takes on the heroine and the hero. Each was a nice quick read. I have to say one of the heroines did make me want to shake her but she came around :)
Extraordinary Tales of Regency Love A Clean and Sweet Regency Historical
This is a very good collection of three Regency stories that are very good reading and they are also standalone stories very well written and each has a very good extended epilogue
Of the three which needed love I had a hard time deciding. Georgia or Agnes, was hard to decide, but then there was the Duke. Wonderfully written and never disappointed by this author.
This is a box set of three previously published stories by Fanny Finch. This is a good value for a box set. These books are all clean and wholesome and should not missed.
Three women struggling for a life full of love and security. I did very much enjoy all stories the ladies in each story were ones who would be recognized as a friend.
