Faerie Tales #2

Delicate Magic

My magic is having a really crappy day.

My name is Kelsie, Fae Queen of the high court. Only one step above human with temperamental magic that lashes out with a sneeze. Which means keeping myself alive has become a full-time job.

Stuck in the darkest recesses of my mind, my magic sits in a prison of my own making—and it wants out. Except if that happens, then I die, leaving thousands of fae without a queen.

Things went from bad to worse when my knight betrayed me, choosing torture over safety. He took off with the demon hunting me, Dub, who will do anything to drag me back to his mother. Chasing me from coast to coast all while I struggle to learn the powers that swell with in me.

Aeden keeps me on the run and I can’t catch my breath. Not when shadows hunt me and the men sworn to protect me in my life awaken my ice-cold heart, melting me into a puddle of Kelsie goo.

Too many emotions rise within me, threatening to unravel what little control I’ve gained.

Until secrets spill and it’s no longer just my life on the line, but all Fae kind

Book 2 is just as good as book 1! Kelsie is at it again, trying to learn control her magic and stay alive. This book is well written and very exciting! Kelsie has such a dry sense of humour and I just really like her a lot! The twists and turns are spectacular and the ending... I can’t even. It’s a crazy cliffhanger just to warn you. I definitely recommend this series!

“Delicate Magic” (Faerie Tales – Book 2) by Elle Lincoln is a twisted funny tales about a fae queen, that really is not so keen on her lot. In Book 1 (“Broken Fae”) Kelsie inherited the throne after somehow “accidentally” disposing of her father, not that he did not fully deserved, the problem was, Kelsie had not interest whatsoever in inheriting the position also decided to cross to the mortal world and just keep on running…. With Aeden (her guardian) on her heels…. it did not help, but seriously you were not counting on it, were you… !?

Now Kelsie is back…. her magic is greater and more difficult to control than ever. She has been betrayed by her closest allies and keeps relaying in Aedan to keep running one step ahead of danger. By the way it is not necessary to read Book 1 to fully enjoy the story… but I know you will anyway afterwards 😊

Kelsie is not your common heroine, she is sassy, very non-lady like, nevertheless funny and relatable and very entertaining new addiction to the genre.

Seriously, this second installment in the series is as much a page turner as the first one. Kelsie is one strong-willed, sassy, no-nonsense heroine. Her dry humor is just killing me. And while she has a lot on her plate, she never loses her sass. And boy does she have a lot on her plate!!! But the cliffhanger? Elle Lincoln, you're killing me! Noooooo!!!! You can't just leave us hanging like this!!! Detonated? Detonated?! Now how am I going to survive till the next installment?!!!!

Ok, I stinking love Kelsie. She's trying to get a hold of her magic here while trying not to die because she's not an immortal yet. Her character is really growing as she's understanding the need the Fae have for her to step up and be queen. She's also juggling two males who, while delicious, are making things so much more complicated. The further development of this world is just terribly fantastic. I can't say enough good about Elle Lincoln's world building and her ability to write kick butt heroines with sass that are somehow still loveable. I can't wait to see the next book!

I loved this second book in the series.
As always the authors brings her everything to her writing, and it shows. The characters are detailed, the worlds they enter are imaginable and the editing is awesome.
