Then everything I knew changed. I got away from the Blackthorne vampires, but they still want my blood. Living a nomadic life with a band of hunters, I learned how to fight and how to defend myself.
Now I’m torn between the deep feelings I’ve developed for my captor and the new attraction I have for Logan, the rugged hunter who came for me.
Cashel Blackthorne may have taken my heart, but he also taught me a lesson...
The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌎 Character development: ☺️😉😀😘🥰
The heroine:Olivia Stewart - she is in love with Cashel Blackthorne, taken by Logan and the hunters, she doesn’t know what is true and what is false.
The Hero:Cashel Blackthorne - he is accused of treason for killing his father, the king of the vampires and his brother who had sun sickness. Both of them had attacked Olivia. He is now in the custody of the council.
The Story: Logan and the hunters give Olivia a new side of the vampire story, showing her how she had been used and abused. They taught her to fight like the hunters, with silver and stakes. When Cashel didn’t come for her, Olivia had to let him go and prepare for a life without him. While she still had the blood that would draw vampires to her, she had to stay with the hunters and learn to protect herself.
This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. Like Blood Captive, it was narrated by Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock. Emma Wilder has a soft feminine voice and she portrays anxiety well with her voice. Aaron Shedlock has a gravely voice which matched Cashel.
I liked this storyline but really wish this book and the prior one would have explained things better, like sun sickness and Olivia’s blood. I was glad that the hunters did provide Olivia with more information on her past and her mother’s murder. I like how this series has so many enemies and so much going on.
that's the fastest I've listened to an audiobook in a long time. Started it last night. Finished it today and that cliffhanger holy shit. Okay onto the third and final book.
I am still really loving this story. The internal struggle of the FMC is well paced and believable IMO. TherE is a trope used in this book that normally grates for me, but it was done well and works with the situations of this book so it didn’t bother me. My biggest complaint is the narration. The male narrator is wonderful, but the female narrator read this like a stuffy, stuck-up snob half the time and at other times she did this emotional shaky voice that sounded kinda like a goat. I got used to it, for the most part, but it took me out of the story too many times and ruined some of the sexy scenes for me. If I wasn’t loving the story so much I would probably stop listening. So, perhaps if I was reading the physical book instead of the audiobook it would be a 5 star.
The Blackthorne Vampires just keep getting better! Book 2 of this series picks up right at the end of the first book and is action packed! The struggle for power is evident, and the Blackthorne siblings are unable to take the throne. Olivia is falling for Logan, but never lets go of her love for Cashel and then the unthinkable happens. Fast paced, suspenseful, dangerous and just kept me wanting more! There are characters I love, and others I love to hate! A twist with the love triangle keeps things exciting and wondering how things will play out. And some surprises just creating more questions that I need answers for. There is a cliffhanger, so I can't wait to sink my teeth into the last of the trilogy, Blood Heir to see how things all wrap up!
Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder continue their narration of this fantastic story. Shedlock is Cashel, with every breath. He exudes the emotions this vampire is going through. Wilder enhances the narration with her impassioned portrayal of Olivia. This poor girl is pulled in all directions, and Wilder nails all the scenes with ease. The two create a world for us to feel all the feels, from despair to anger to hopelessness to love. It's amazing.
Olivia and Cashel are back with our second book. I feel like I was lucky enough to find these books after all three books have been released, I don't know if I could have waited for the wait. We start where the first one ended, so you will have to read them in order. So all I am going to say is that the ending of the first one was a sad cliffy and that now everyone is fighting to get back to the beginning. Take how that is.
Olivia is about to learn some interesting things, but she will have to remember where it comes from and hopefully come to terms with how that will shape her future. Cashel also has some information coming his way and he will have to survive it and hope that he can find his one true love in time so that he can remind each of them that it is them against the world.
I have to say sometimes the middle book is just a filler, Blood Traitor is not. This book was fast past, information-based, and had love between the two main characters that you hope to see throughout.
Okay this book series is going to be the death of me cuz I'm like parts are kind of like lame but there's a lot of parts that are really addicting this book is addicting but the thing is is the ending really sucks oh my God I don't know what happened but basically like the theme is is like you know she goes to the hunter side they convince her that Cashel is like this horrible person blah blah blah but then she ends up back in the manor and then basically is being used as a slave and then she starts to see a different side that maybe cashel really wasn't such a bad person after all so it's kind of like proving that they can trust each other kind of a thing but Eliana is a really big b**** let's just say that and Cashel basically has the sacrifice himself to save Olivia in the end and the new Queen Ann is the biggest psycho b**** of all so we'll see what happens in the next book I'm really hoping somebody just dethrones the queen

If I thought book one had me on edge, that was nothing compared to this book. I was captivated from the start. There are so many twists and turns. Each question that gets answered will leave another question in its wake and you anxious to know what is going to happen next. Cashel and Olivia’s relationship continues to build and is compelling. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Especially with that cliffhanger that made me super glad I could dive right into the next book.
Aaron Shedlock and Emma Wilder continue to deliver brilliant performances of these characters and keep you inthralled in the story and performance.
Performance: Emma really does Cashel’s voice so well I almost like it better than Aaron’s version. However, I could listen to Aaron read Apple terms and conditions so still love him as well
Story: At least half of the angst in this story could have been solved by better communication. I was a bit disappointed in how quickly Olivia and Cashel doubted each other. It didn’t take much influence from outside sources for them to turn on each other. They do eventually find their way back to each other briefly until more chaos ensues. The cliffhanger is brutal especially if you haven’t read/listened to Mate Games but I have jumped into the next book already.
4 stars for Blood Traitor by Kim Loraine. This is book two in the Blood trilogy. This is part of the Blackthorne Vampire series. This book picks up right after book one. Cashel and Olivia are separated. Olivia is at a loss on whether or not to believe anything Cashel ever told her. Cashel is being tortured for his crimes. I am loving how this story is building. It is full of twists, love triangles, and suspense . It also has lots of steamy parts so don’t worry. I am looking forward to reading Blood Heir.
Great narration by both Aaron and Emma - so many emotions came through. The story itself was just a rollercoaster of good and bad, of happiness and anger, of love and betrayal. One evil is eliminated, and another pops up. It’s crazy. As strong as Olivia wants to think she is, she has a weak mind and believes almost anything anyone tells her. That makes her life pretty rough…as do her circumstances throughout the book. It’s a wild ride, with a genteel English accent. And I don’t even know what to think about the ending!🤯
I liked this book more than the first one, but it still is only 3 stars. The love triangle in this was better than other love triangles I’ve read in other book. I also liked how high the stakes are in this series. The pacing is good. But, all that to say, I’m just not in love with these characters as much as I want to be. It’s just a feeling thing. I think the series as a whole is good, I just don’t feel the connection. I’ll probably read the next book!
Cashel kidnapped Olivia, then she escaped and joined the hunters. Logan taught her to fight against the vampires and they convinced her that Cashel never loved her and was only after her blood.
Cashel kidnaps Olivia a second time and they return to the mansion.
I am impressed with the good editing. I'm going to read the next book in the series, which is available to borrow from Kindle Unlimited.
Oh this story just keeps getting better and better. The twist the come about in this one will leave you reeling. Both Cashel and Olivia struggle not only for their life, but their feeling for one other become hard. There is a thin line between love and hate. Can the Blackthorne line truly survive this or will it be the end.
ok so I really wish it'd been done as a duet but still a great installment of the Blackthorne legacy. these are more slow burn then the current series the mate games but it's all tied together. it's not necessary to read either first but this would technically be the beginning Plot 5/5 Spice 3/5 Cast: Male 10/10 Female 6/10 overall book score 8/10
The continue story of Olivia and Cashial is intriguing. The way they are apart but still trying to pretend they dont need or want each other. The development of the plot was interesting with the different characters appearing to enhance the plot. Interested to see how they got to where they are in the Mate Games.
Sexy vampires, political intrigue, and love triangles at their best! Just when you think you know what will happen... I enjoyed this next book in the series and jumped right into the next one. Aaron and Emma deliver excellent performances.
"She got away from the Blackthorne vampires, but they still want her blood." Absolutely loved this. Well written, and well thought out plot. So many emotions. You really feel for the characters. Does have a cliffhanger, but so worth it.
The drama intensifies as the story goes on. So much is happening g, and the twists and turns keep you guessing. Casual and Olivia have a truthful conversation, but it never gets to be finished due to interference from outside forces.
A fantastic second book in this series. It picks up right where the first left off. I loved the first and this one even more. All the twist and turns and action of the story kept me glued to my Kindle. Then I am hit with an OMG! ending.
3.5 stars if I could. I decent follow on from book one. Found the writing better this time round, a little less disjointed however still repetitive at times. If you don't like graphic sex scenes than this series probably isn't for you.
There’s a lot going on in this one! And there are some crazy characters who do awful things, but I have faith that Cashel will win the day. Sure hope so, anyway!
This is the second in the series. It was just as amazing as the first. The characters are wonderful and exciting. You want to yell at the characters as you read. Highly recommend
Cashel and Olivia's. Story is on the edge. There is so much that needs to be resolved in book 3 and I am here for it. This book was shorter but I loved it. I can't wait for book 3.
This one was so very frustrating, Olivia drove me absolutely crazy for half the book. This was full of so many twists, lies, manipulation and an ending that will leave you stunned. I absolutely adore Cashel and all he’s done for Olivia and his family.
