She is also the author of The Guggenheim Mystery, the sequel to Siobhan Dowd's The London Eye Mystery.
Robin was born in California and grew up in an Oxford college, across the road from the house where Alice in Wonderland lived. She has been making up stories all her life.
When she was twelve, her father handed her a copy of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and she realised that she wanted to be either Hercule Poirot or Agatha Christie when she grew up. When it occurred to her that she was never going to be able to grow her own spectacular walrus moustache, she decided that Agatha Christie was the more achieveable option.
She spent her teenage years at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, reading a lot of murder mysteries and hoping that she’d get the chance to do some detecting herself (she didn’t). She then went to university, where she studied crime fiction, and then worked at a children's publisher.
Robin lives in England with her husband and her pet bearded dragon, Watson.

If you are reading this review because you're looking for the next good series - forget the review and rush straight to the nearest bookstore or library - you need these books.
If you are reading this review because you hated this series and are wondering how it received six out of five stars - you clearly picked up a completely different 9 book series that someone has accidentally covered with the MURDER MOST UNLADYLIKE dust covers.
If you are reading this review because you also rated this series 6 stars - great minds think alike.
A Murder Most Unladylike features two characters; Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong. These two girls live completely different lives - until they meet each other at Deepdean School for Girls in England.
Daisy Wells is the perfect British girl, with messy golden locks, bright blue eyes and an affinity for the harsh cold. She feels that boys and adults are incompetent and frightfully arrogant. Daisy Wells, it seems, isn't scared of anything.
Hazel Wong, on the other hand, is an awkward girl from Hong Kong. She's no good at sports, and seems to look either ugly or dull - no matter the dress. Hazel is desperate to fit in at Deepdean, but her life in Hong Kong was never very English at all.
The two girls, however, have one thing in common - their wits. Together they start a detective society, a secret agency that detects murders. But Daisy and Hazel never expected such luck with stumbling across the next puzzling case.
Murder seems to find them everywhere, and no matter the case, the two girls are determined to find the killer.
The series is full of suspense, personality and mystery. One aspect of these books that I loved was the characters. No one is perfect, everyone - even Daisy - has their flaws. There's no typical hero, and every character adds another layer to the series.
It might be ferocious Lavinia, or perfect, arrogant Daisy. Maybe it's timid Beanie, or boy obsessed Kitty. George with his quick wits, or eager Alexander. Hazel with her nose in a book, sensible and cautious. Every character is relatable, realistic and utterly human.
haven't read all of them yet but the first few i have read are incredibly good. can't wait to read the rest.
the first book i read of these was the third one (first class murder) and immediately bought the rest. relatively easy to read but also very interesting. i also really liked these books because the detectives are teenagers like me. 100% recommend.
I LOVE these books. Even if they were written for a very young public, I must say they are very amusing even for adults. What I liked a lot about these books is the flow of the two girls’ arcs. They were never something they were not. It was never something forced upon them because of social trends and their relationship was a beautiful portrayal of real-life teenage friendships. I must admit that one of my favorite characters was uncle Felix, and I really wish she would have written a lot more about him. However, the series was so cute and compelling that I decided to purchase the rest of the series and its sequel and the puzzle book because that’s just how cute it was. I hope this gives readers young and old something to consider when deciding what book to read, or buy, or gift. happy reading to all!!!! detective society forever.✌🏻
Btw is the end date is not when I finish reading the nine books, but when I finished reading the nine books plus all the extras and the two books from the new spinoff. ☺️
Very good for kids I’d say 9-14.One of my favourite books .If you like this you should read the sequel books The ministry of unladylike activity ,the body in the the blitz and a new book coming out later this year I believe.
I read the 1st book when I was in year 7 and loved it but I am year 12 now and I didn’t enjoy it anymore I think I’m used to more grown up detective books.
MY FAVORITE SERIES AHHHHH! I absolutely LOVE all the characters and i can never get tired of reading them!(i read the limited edition one 27 times(i counted!))
This series had a grip on me as a child and is a large reason why I love reading now. The dynamic between daisy and hazel was so believable and every book threw plot twists I never could've imagined.
I love this series so much. The characters are loveable, the mysteries are intriguing, and it’s a great series overall. Both me and my mum love it as an easy read. It definitely works for pre-teens, but I’m my opinion it can work for all ages.
The whole book series, single-handily, got me through high school for a solid 3 weeks. Would definitely recommend anyone who likes crime to read them !!
these books are amazing, this was one of the first book series where i stayed from start to end and was waiting for a new release to continue the amazing story and this series was the one that got me into reading
