An author, musician, counseling psychologist, and animal rights activist, Dariel writes interracial/multicultural paranormal romance and dark urban fantasy featuring shifters, Nephilim, angels, and reluctant demons, all filled with action, alpha heroes, and strong heroines. As a child, she could always be found curled up with her dogs, cats, and a good book, even if the book was a dictionary or encyclopedia. Things have not changed much.

Dariel is a classically trained soprano, and plays more than 11 musical instruments. She also completed coursework and passed comprehensives for a Ph.D. in Instructional Design (ABD), tutors writing, algebra, and statistics, and readily admits to being a Netflix paranormal and action series binge-watcher.

Faye is looking for a new start in her career and life. So she transfer her job to a new town to start over. While she was out shopping one day, she does an act of kindness for a stranger. Which in turns leads her to making a friend, Celine. Now Celine wants to pay it forward for Faye and make on of her wishes come true. This is when she enlists her brother, Nate's help.

Nate is at a lost in his life, now that he doesn't have his company. So when his sister ask him for a favor, he reluctantly agrees. Little does he know that this favor might change his life. Will Faye and Nate be able to put their differences for each other aside and get to know each other?

This was a very quick read. I really enjoyed this book. I could not put it down once I started reading it. You will fall in love with characters and root for them through the whole book. I can't wait to read another book by this author. I recommend this book others.

A short sweet Valentine's story.
Faye has transferred to a new city and while shopping does one of her random acts of kindness for a stranger that winds up being a friend.
She wants a date for Valentine's day and her friend suggests speed dating and offers to go with her and provide the way.
Nate has recently sold his business and is at loose ends except for a few things he likes to do. He owes somebody a favor and he has to repay it by being a chauffeur.
Both things bring Faye her wish.

This story is about finding unexpected love just in time for the holiday most important to lovers - Valentines Day. Dariel Raye vividly describes her characters and at once you feel empathy and become pulled into the story. A caveat for me was references to places in southern Alabama, once home to me. I also liked how Faye, the main character, was thoughtful and accepting of others - the paying it forward move at the grocery store truly paid off at the end. Great read!
