I found 'Safe hex with a vampire' as entertaining and delightful as Vampires Vixens was. If you liked the first in the series, then you should love the sequel. Why should and not will? Simple. If you go and buy the book thinking that you will learn more about Noah or Nathaniel, you might be disappointed, although if you read the blurb, you should already know that.

This story follows another of the cousins: Aiden. (Yes, that Aiden, the one who didn't leave such a good first impression.) When I realized who he was, I wondered about the author's choice, but I soon forgot what he had done in the first book and learned to like him (a lot, in fact).

Safe Hex is a sequel and like all series it's always better to read them in order, however, I still believe that if you haven't read book one, you shouldn't have problems understanding and loving book two. What's not to love? The characters are likeable and although they are vampires (or other) they feel real. I love how Tempest and Aiden interact with each other.

If you love paranormal romance, you will love this book. Like the first one, it has its ending, so no dreaded cliffhanger. However, Ms. Lawson mentioned something at the very end that got my attention and I can't wait to read more about it.

In the first book of the series, I hated Aiden. I know he only had a small part in it but it was enough for my own fangs to come out. He was a jerk and I was glad to be rid of him. In the first book, I was also in lust with Noah. Now I’m torn between Noah and Aiden. I am so glad he had his own book and was more than redeemed. LOVE LOVE LOVE him! He’s funny, broody, and sexy as sin!

We learn more of his past and his full story. It doesn’t excuse what he did in the first book, but he did get a taste of his own medicine. (He attempted to kidnap and mate with his cousin’s woman!) In this book, he is the one kidnapped and wanted for reproduction purposes. While on an errand for his uncle (Roman), he meets Tempest and not on the best of terms. He walks into an alley and wakes up in a cage!

Tempest is not a vampire but she does have special abilities. She is a doctor and runs a battered women’s shelter along with three others. They are able to use their special skills to track and hunt down predators in the city. When Aiden was following Tempest, she thought he was one of the men she had been looking for. Hence, that’s why he woke up in a cage.

The interactions between Aiden and Tempest are hilarious and very sexually charged. We also get more from the supporting characters that we met in the first book. My initial aversion to Drew (vampire cousin to the family) is slipping away slowly but surely. His shenanigans are funny! Justin (another cousin) is battling his own issues with Caitlin (and these two together are also very hot and very entertaining!!). Justin’s brother Isaiah is still struggling from his mental problems from book 1. Tempest has a sister named Ivy and she is sweet and very lovable. We learn nothing new about Noah (*pout*), Hannah or Nathaniel, but everything seemed to have been on the right track for them in book 1.

I loved this book. It was well written and easily held my attention. I got answers to a lot of questions that I was pondering from the first book. I still have more, but there’s still a book waiting for me in this series! YAY! If you are a fan of hot, sexy, panty melting, and funny vampires, I highly recommend this series! Now, I’m off to take a cold shower and to start the next book, Vampires Prefer Blondes!

Safe Hex with a Vampire is the second book in the series. Even though you would be able to read this one without reading the first installment, I don’t recommend it. The first book, Vampires and Vixens, was great and will give you more of an understanding of the family dynamics, individual powers and Aiden’s past discretions.

In Vampires and Vixens, Aiden was not a likeable character. At All! The author quickly changed my point of view in this book. Then she made me fall in love with him...

Tempest is introduced to us as a hunter. We quickly learn that she is also not human. She is on the hunt for a serial rapist and killer. She mistakes Aiden for the man she has been working so hard to capture. She is horrified when she discovers that she has the wrong man. While keeping Aiden locked up long enough for him to heal from her abduction, she begins to develop feelings for him and the sparks fly as the two of them battle back and forth, then eventually give in to the obvious chemistry.

Aside from the main storyline and main characters, we are treated to the beginnings of Justin and Caitlin’s budding relationship. Those two make quite the comedic and sizzling pair. I hope to see a future installment featuring these two. I also loved the way that Aiden and Justin connected as more than family that just tolerated each other and became great friends.

The plot in this installment was interesting and keeps your attention throughout. It had romance, suspense, passion, intrigue, a touch of comedy, and some pretty hot paranormal intimate interludes. The writing was fantastic. Nice easy flow and great dialog. Not only were the main characters likable, but I also enjoyed all of the supporting characters as well.

This installment ends with an HEA, but also leaves you craving for more from the Draksel family. I highly recommend this book and I’m looking forward to reading the next installment!

WOW!! The difference in this book, and the first is astounding!!

This story flows much better, there is much more emotions involved and i did form attachments to all the main characters and some sub ones. Its almost like, both books are written by difference authors!

Aiden, who had "an unfortunate incident" with Hannah in book one, is kidnapped, but its a case of mistaken identity. Once Tempest realises her error, she presents him with an offer, one he refuses to take part in, unless its done "the old fashioned way"! The interaction between these two, is comical at points, as is the interaction between Justin and Caitlin but is also hot and bothering! Its much better written, the sex scenes, in this one too. We learn more about Roman, Noah and Nathaniel's father and how he came to be so unemotional, and some other family secrets that i'm not gonna go into!

Suffices to say, I enjoyed this much more, and am giving it a 4 Fangs rating. SInce i did enjoy this one, and there will be a third, i WILL look out for that to read.

This is the second book in the Psy-Vamp series. I recommend reading in
order rather than as a standalone. I felt there were several references to
book one throughout. Having read book one made it easier to follow and
understand these references. Rating this book is so simple--5 stars on
every element. I was so impressed . What a fun and interesting storyline.
It was such a smooth easy read. No grammatical errors-great editing. The
characters were so good and enjoyable. Great continuation on returning
characters from book one. The dialogue between the characters was so well
written. The interaction held your attention and you just had to keep
reading. There is a Hott scene in a bedroom that I feel was so well
written. It was more than just another Hott scene. It just reached out and
grabbed me. Even had me laughing. I would highly recommend this book and
series. I am looking forward to the next. (Arc) AndreaAH

This is the 2nd book in the series and is also a 5 star review!

Cassandra has kept me captivated thru this series and has left me waiting and wanting more! I don't know how she does it but I feel like I am always the leading lady thru each book wanting her man to be with her the entire time, drooling, wanting him to rescue her. But in this one who rescues who? Aiden seems lost not knowing where he really fits in, where he belongs. During this novel we find out more of Aiden's history as well as the history of Tempest.

It had me on the edge of my seat, wanting more, not willing to wait for the next book in the series, which is going to be a very hard wait, but I know that it will be well worth it!

Book 2 in the Psy vampire series and it's Aidens book.

AIDEN appeared in book one with Hannah and was a bad boy, in this book he regains his good points on his journey to find love.

There's not quite so many characthers in the book which is good as we get to know others a bit better. I really liked Justin in this book, hope he get his HEA eventually.

This book has a lot of humourous conversations mixed in with the story which make it a fun read as well as pnr.

This series and book are an easy read paranormal romance with likeable characther's and a good story line and you'll want to read book in one sitting.

I did miss Noah in this book, but hear he might make an appearance in next book.

4.5 vampy and racey stars

Once I got into this story and really understood what was happening I enjoyed it. I can say this is not a series I was familiar with until this book and now I'm intrigued it was a fabulous read that was a fantastic escape from the real world. Lets face it sometimes we just need to explore fantasy a little bit. I would highly recommend reading the first book Vampires and Vixens before reading this one. I did not and was still able to catch up but the back story does have holes in it if you don't read book one.

Tempest has been hunting a series rapist for years and finally believes that she has caught him. However, her sense of triumph is very short-lived when she realises that she has the wrong man. Before she can decide what to do with him, she discovers that she and the unconscious man share a secret - neither of them is human. Maybe he could explain the origins of her family's unusual talents. When Aiden regains consciousness he is not very happy to realise he is locked in a cage-like wild animal. Aiden can't help but be completely captivated by the mystery woman who beares a striking resemblance to a woman from his uncle's past. He also can't help but be aroused by her. Could she be the one to end his loneliness? Or will her past prevent her from opening her heart to him?

I loved this story which was full of drama, excitement and plenty of action to keep you captivated with the action and snappy dialogue between Tempest and Aiden who were the perfect couple if only they could trust each other. Well written and easy to feel and understand, I really enjoyed this story which was a great second instalment to the series which proves that the series is going to be good for more than the one book.

Ms. Lawson has done it again. The growth that she has shown from her first novel to this is phenomenal. This novel had the right amount of romance mixed with suspense, adventure and the paranormal, which makes for a fantastic read. Well done Ms. Lawson. I look forward to reading more from this author.
