So I was looking for a pallet cleanser after a few scary and or kind of gross reads. This looked like nice fluff. Turns out its a series and this is a set of 3.
The first story was very quick and definitely had fluff, but it also featured the male "hero" lecturing and giving trouble to the female lead and it rubbed me the wrong way a little.

The 2nd story, the hero (God I think his name is Ryan) misreads a situation with his girl Penny badly and lashes out destructively, hurts her and their relationship in the process, this is quickly rectified with an apology and little to no grovelling. (it was owed to her, she should get it).

The 3rd story is an absolute shit show, The "hero" is terrifying and seems to hate the female lead at the start for no apparent reason other then "she is new in town", but also is mad because she does not do anything he says( WHY SHOULD SHE LISTEN TO YOU OR FOLLOW YOUR ORDERS??) he makes assumptions and he is aggressive with her. No grovelling or apology would have worked here for me. The fact he was written as a cop with this personality legitimately scared me.

Editing and continuity issues, sappy plots

I had read her previous books (Will, Walker & Jace) and liked them ok....enough to get these. But these were such a disappointment. The first one, Preston was cute. Then Ry was ok. But Antonio was awful!!!!! Lots id bad editing throughout but mostly Antonio’s book. Several times, things didn’t follow....like “the ring was on the car”, then two paragraphs later “he pulls the ring out of his pocket”. But Antonio was horrendous. He was a complete ass hole. No matter how hot, NO ONE would have been attracted to his ass holery. He basically assaults her. But she still “wants” him?!?! WTF?!?!

This boxset is just the first three stories in the small town of Tulip. First story was pretty good, second story was really good but I was a little disappointed in our hero and his attitude in story three. He was pretty much a meddling jerk as far as I was concerned. However, storyline is good and the writing is excellent.

DNF

I gave up during the first book. As another reviewer stated, this definitely needs an editor to focus on continuity. For example, Preston goes from serving gourmet cheese and prosciutto to saying that he only buys what's on sale at the grocery. There were also some scenes where supporting characters just began talking with no mention of them being in the scene previously. I had to re-read to make sure I didn't miss their entrance.

By the time I stopped reading, Preston and Nina had hooked up twice with no mention of a condom or birth control discussion.

I'm also confused why Preston has the last name Worthington when his mom is a Worthington by blood. Does he not get his dad's last name? Maybe this is addressed later in the book but I didn't care to keep reading.

Three wonderful stories of small town life.

Being a Brit and living in a quintessential English village, I love reading stories that I'd like to think are based in 'real' small town America.
Each story is about a local "hero" and his journey to attaining love, marriage and a family.
It's beautifully, well written and easily draws you in. Enabling you to become attached to the characters and invested in the intertwining relationships between the stories.
This author has definitely made it onto my 'favourites' list. ❤️

As a book I really love it.

As a women these characters make me want to boil my own ovaries.

I love you he says.

I forgive you of everything awful you have done (including public humiliation, cheating, forgetting, awful words, sexual assault, bullying and pulling a gun on me)

These women need sterilising and these men need to be flogged naked in the town square.

Am I going to continue to read this series - why yes I am.

Let me check my calendar....

Nope, not near as hot as these hometown heroes appear to be. Fall in lust, love, and hate with these guys who have it all- almost. These are great shorter reads with quirky loveable characters. Laughing at the antics or huffing in anger at the myriad of predicaments these ladies find themselves in is a requirement.

Great community stories

Piper writes a great community setting as the background for her romances. They are filled with wonderful characters that we know or would like to know and even some we love to hate. Enjoy this set of stories. Great vacation read.

Definitely enjoyed the box set

The stories were pretty good. There were some typos and inconsistencies- Colombian or Brazilian, sister or only child. Other than that it was a throughly entertaining reading escape

A great collection of small town heroes, the first three in the series. Tulip is a great town and getting the hometown heroes to volunteer to be in a calendar is the best idea. The fact that they also manage to find love along the way is an added bonus.

Fun series-romance in a small town with a group of friends, mostly cops, medics, etc., falling in love...bumpy road to love, but no cheating and always HEA. "His Curvy Enemy " is my favorite so far (not in this set of 3 books, but is the next in series).

Mr. Cop - Such a great addition to the Hometown Heroes of Tulip.
Antonio grew up in Tulip, but when he went off to college and stayed in New Orleans, being a homicide detective in the big city will change your point of view on a lot things, including people and love. But when he returns home, he is cautious about who is lets into his life and always goes to other cities if he wants some female company. But when a call brings him face to face with a newcomer to Tulip who happens to call to his inner animal, how long can he resist? Is being mean to her the way to go?
Elka is starting over and wants to make her life in Tulip a good one. But when her past comes back and one cop won't let her just be, is it time to leave Tulip and find another place? Can she overcome her past and finally have friends and a love life?
The chemistry between Elka and Antonio is off the charts, but once they get to know each other better, will mistakes keep them apart or will admitting your feelings and the truth be a good thing? I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Mr. Medic - Ry is rumored to be a player around town, but in a small town, rumors are generally just that. But when Penny catches his eye, he wants to know more about her and her life. Can he prove to her that he deserves a chance or a second chance?
Penny moved to a small town with her son to get away from her ex-husband. They needed to start a new life. Mikey loves Tulip and enjoys the people too. But when Mikey becomes friends with Ry, Penny has no choice but to be around him more and more. Will he wear down her defenses and prove to her that he is a good guy?
This is such a cute and good story of a single parent trying to make life work for her and her son. But help can be welcomed, if the reasons behind the help are valid. You will enjoy this book, I wasn't able to put it down! I received an ARC of this book from the author.
Mr. Savior - Nina just moved to Tulip, Texas from the St. Louis area. She stands out in Tulip, but loves the small town. She is the bartender and tries to stay under the radar, even with tattoos, piercings and a sassy attitude!! But you are asked to help out the Tulip Troops, she has to go, she is a softy. But when things happen and she gets noticed and rescued by the "Golden Boy", will she accept help from him?
Preston is on duty when he gets the call about the Tulip Troops, he rushes over to save a trooper and Nina from the flood waters, but when her ankle is broken and needs a boot, but can't get around on her own, of course, he takes her to his house to recuperate. But when the town talks and Preston realizes he wants more of Nina in more ways, will they accept this? Can he convince Nina that his love is real? Or will his mother get involved and stop everything?
This is cute story of opposites attracting in the best ways possible!! It has some drama, a stubborn wonderful woman and an equally stubborn man that make it look easy!! This is a great way to introduce us to Tulip and the Hometown Heroes and that wonderful calendar!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

I originally read and reviewed these stories individually, except the exclusive epilogue.

Mr. Savior
I loved this story and had a lot of fun with the characters.
Nina is a bartender and when she helps rescue a child and hurts herself, Preston quickly volunteers to help her as well.
They begin to share Preston's house and the attraction between them is immediate, but are they willing to invest in the feelings that arise?
I kept expecting Preston's mom to come out and spoil everything, and what wasn't my surprise when she almost got what she wanted.
I loved the main characters and the secondary characters as well.

Mr. Medic
I need to say that the best character in this story was little Mikey, he's just adorable!
After a bad divorce, Penny and Mikey moved to the small town where she got a good job and is focused on raising her child in the best way possible, not wanting to be distracted by any romantic relationship.
Ry has had his eyes on Penny since she arrived in town, and when a few events involving little Mikey bring them closer, he takes his chance to show her that he's not a player and is really interested in a relationship with her.
After a misunderstanding, things get really bad between them, but will Ry be able to prove that he's mature enough to have a relationship with Penny?
I loved the story, the characters and to be able to see again the characters of the first book of this series.

Mr. Cop
Elka lived her life to save her brother, but when he dies, she decides to follow the promise that she made him to actually live her life without the influence of their parents. She ends up moving to the small town in Texas, but when she gets there, the first person she meets is Deputy Vargas, who doesn't welcomes her so well.
When Antonio Vargas encounters Elka standing in the middle of the road, he knew it was trouble. Through this distrust, he makes Elka's life virtually hell, even though the whole city has already accepted her with open arms like one of their own.
Despite the mistrust, the attraction between them is huge, and they decide to give it a chance.
But when Antonio's mistrust causes Elka's past to appear to haunt her, will she be able to forgive him?
I loved the story and the characters. Oh, and I'm Brazilian, so I loved the little references to Brazil in the story.

I highly recommend the reading.

Mr. Savior
What is not to love about these two. The quirky, feisty Nina rescued by the super hot Preston, an SAR worker. He insisted on taking care of her as her ankle healed despite Nina's resistance. Inevitably they succumbed to the chemistry between them as Nina tries to sign up the hot men of the town for a fundraising calendar. This created some real humour in the story. Great read.
Mr. Medic
Wow. How swoon worthy is Ry. Penny, a single mother is very wary of dating again following her failed marriage to Mikey's father. Ry has been interested in her since she moved to Tulip a year ago. This story was so heart-warming with the continuation of the creation of the Hometown Heroes calendar. Mikey, the five year old son of Penny, with his love of animals and his hero worship of Ry, made me chuckle at regular intervals through the book. Penny and Ry had some hot and steamy moments too when they could steal some time together alone. Add to that Ry's matchmaking mother, Betty and this became a truly satisfying must read.
Mr. Cop
That's it I need to move to Tulip. So many lovable characters in this series. The matchmaking mothers, the quirky group of female friends plus the hunky men in uniform. This story features Elka who moves to Tulip to get away from her parents and Antonio, a cop who knows there is something Elka is hiding and mistakenly thinks it is something illegal. Some really funny moments as these two try to deny the attraction between them. And a real tear jerker at the end although there is a HEA.
Read an ARC for an honest review.

Small Town Misters

First three books in the series. Fun read. I love reading about those single men who when they fall in love they fall hard. Each book is a standalone but characters cross over and I think best read in order.

Small Town Misters !

I love the town of Tulip Texas. The Hometown Hero's are falling in love fast and hard. I was not a fan of Antonio and the way he treated Elka. I enjoyed reading the wedding epilogues of all the books.
