There's three important male characters in the book and 2/3 are cheaters...I JUST WANT TO SLAP THEM INTO NEXT YEAR. If Haze also turns out to be a cheater later, which I hope he won't, then hopefully Anissa will find someone leagues better.

I don't like Haze all that much to be honest, so whether he cheats or not I am rooting for her to be with someone else (preferably also not the neighbour).

This book was not for me at all. It was really boring and the “suspense” aspect of it was kind of annoying. It was more of me saying “get to the point” than it was me saying “I can’t wait to see what happens next”. The main character was irritating as well. I won’t be reading the sequels.

Cute

This was shorty and ok...I might read part two just to see what's going on with Clark and to see what Nis will do next. It did leave me curious to see what happens.

Yikes

Well that was a lot. So much in such a short story, yet I couldn't stop reading. Again, I absolutely Do Not like Cliff hangers, yet the way Author Nyerra writes, you'll get sucked into the goodness of the story and just have to accept that your jaw will be on the floor at the end and suspense on your mind.

Anissa didn't deserve all the BS that kept coming her way. From her ex Nico to her very despicable and quite disturbing brother Justin, she just couldn't catch a break.

I like Haze, yet I'm still a bit skeptical about him. I guess we'll see his true intentions in the next books.

I like that Anissa writes poetry. Hell, I want to read the books too.

This was really good. On to book 2 to see what's going on.

Not my kind of reading.. Too much profanity, street culture, and pornography ( nothing left to the imagination). Would like to know what happened to the characters but won't read the next book because of the way this book was presented.

Packs a Punch!

I love novellas and When It's Real, It's Unconditional did not disappoint at all! Main character Anissa appears to have a dark cloud lingering over her. After tragically losing her fiancé, she packs up all of her things and heads to Indiana for a fresh start. She leaves behind her family, best friend and brother and after two years has been doing okay. On a trip back to Raleigh to check-in on family, she runs into Phil Haze who is the epitome of everything Anissa once wanted. Phil is forbidden fruit but now that they are both single it's an undeniable chemistry that draws them both together in ways that they aren't able to avoid. Anissa's brother is totally against the two of them together and voices his dissent at every turn. But when a God-awful secrets comes to the light, Anissa is left completely devastated.

I really like Phil's character and what he perhaps represents with regard to his budding relationship with Anissa. I'm hoping he doesn't break her heart too in part two of the series. I really dislike Justin and can see that he's spiraling out of control. I look forward to reading the next installment soon.

I am really excited about the tie to Indiana and the use of some local favorites in the book. I wonder if the author has ties...

This book had me captivated in the beginning of the story. The love between Anissa and Nico felt just as powerful as the betrayal and the accident when it happened, so I was ready to devour this story. After everything that happened, I was excited to read where the story would go when it came to Nissa and Maylen, then everything with Phil. The connection between Nissa and Phil didn't feel believable, and I get that they had history, but something was missing. Then the situation Nissa's brother Just put himself in was too much along with the betrayal. However, I was glad that his wife Layah wasn't playing with him and his antics. The cliffhanger ending left me wanting to read the next book because I had to know how Nissa handled that situation. Overall, this was an okay read. I just wish that the whole story was able to keep me captivated the way the beginning did, and it didn't because I didn't feel the connection between the characters, and they started to work on my nerves with their actions.

Book club read

I read this book as result of a book club selection. It’s not a pick I would have read on my own. There were a lot of errors, too much profanity, and very simple and common storyline. Good things; I liked that she was in to poetry and was a writer. I can relate with her on the migraines. It started getting good then the book ended with to be continue. Not sure if I’ll read the second book or get a rundown from someone who reads it.

You will be invested in this story from the jump . I can’t wait to read book two cuz it finished on a cliffhanger and I need to know how this messiness end. But we follow Anissa’s story of rediscovering and new love but her brother Justin is the torn of her flesh. He is the middle man of all her pain. Will she be able to deal with the truth he is hiding from her . Let read part 2 to find out!

My my

The story had a lot of parts and details with the different relationships. Phil and Anissa seemed to be headed in the same direction, but something was off with them. Justin is a dog, and Layah was smart to make the decision she made, and Clark is a first rate beetch! It will be intresting to see how this story ends.

🖋️ This story was not for me, not only because of the weak writing, but also because of the vulgar language. 🗑 Conversely, other readers may find this story their life and right up their alley.

Loved the Storyline. Not to many characters that you cannot keep up with what is going on. Ending of part one was great way to end and look forward to reading part 2. Loved reading part 1. Looking forward to reading part 2.

Very good series.

I really enjoyed this book series. I laughed, came close to sometimes tears of joy, frustration, anger, sorrow, grief. This series made me feel right along with the characters.

Drama galore!

This was the first book that I’ve read by Nyerra and I actually enjoyed it. There was a lot going on and I can’t wait to read book two. I must say that Justin got on my last nerve though.

Meh

It was ok. I felt like the MC didn’t really have a storyline. She kept mentioning her dead ex but no explanation of how he died. The amount of grapes she ate in this story. Omg. I’ve read other books by this author, this one wasn’t my favorite.
