Meghan is just home from her trip to Texas when Jackie decides she needs to throw Meghan a bachelorette party. This party has to go down as the worst ever! However, there are lots of laughs to be had by all.
This is a fantastic series that once you start, you can't wait for the next book! This book has Meghan's friend Jackie wanting to plan a bridal shower, engagement party and bachelorette party for Meghan much to Meghan's chagrin. She hates the frills and hates to be away from the bakery again and just wants to get married to Jack. With cajoling from Jackie, Meghan lets Jackie plan a Bachelorette party. Jackie invites Meghan's younger sister Myrtle and her friends Karen, Sally and Trudy. Surprise..."We're Going to Las Vegas!" joyfully exclaimed Jackie to the group. Meghan definitely was not happy since she was never a real partier and never had any desire to go to Vegas. But her friends convinced her they will all have a good time. However, the start was anything but fun when they arrived at the hotel Jackie had reserved and it was downhill from there. A highlight for Sally, though, was seeing Elvis in the street and running up to him and fawning all over him! When he extricated himself from her he offers the group free show tickets for that night with a wink to the bride-to-be, Meghan. So they go to the show and much to Meghan's exasperation, Elvis invites Meghan on the stage with him and of course Sally runs up with her. If things weren't downhill before, they really reached a low when Elvis drops dead on stage while both Meghan and Sally were up there with him. Since both were there, they became suspects. And we go on a crazy wild ride from there. This book is action packed with a little added humor. With lots of twists and turns we have a surprise ending. I loved this adventure of Meghan and her friends and can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next! I received and ARC from the author but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Amber Crewes has one of the freshest voices in the cozy mystery genre. Her books are witty, believable, and humorous. The latest in the Sandy Bay cozy mystery series is a fantastic addition to an already wonderful series.
I LOVED this story! I couldn't put it down with all that was happening! The story is very intriguing as there are so many twists and turns. What I loved the most is that there was so much humor throughout the story involving Mrs. Sheridan and Elvis. Even with a murder, there were still humorous and loving moments between friends and her sister. I enjoyed all the trouble they got into while in Las Vegas and how they survived. Could it get any worse? The author verbalized emotions, and she did so in a way that we can feel it too. I love all the stories I've read so far! So, if you want a fun mystery with interesting characters, then be sure to grab this book and read it NOW!
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Amber Crewes did this one justice! I loved the craziness of Meghan being roped into a trip to Las Vegas with Jackie and her friends for a surprise Batchelorette Party hosted by Jackie! Meghan hates parties and certainly does not like Vegas! They end up in a rundown and gross motel! Sally Sheridan, her older friend comes all gussied up and everyone is embarrassed! Especially after she accosts Elvis at the reservation area! Meghan is called on stage at Elvis’s concert and of course Sally follows after her! Meghan is carrying a plastic container of rhubarb pie her sister gave her. Elvis stuck his finger in the pie and ate some! He then proceeded to die! Well Meghan and Sally are arrested. Then the story goes downhill from there. This is a funny, crazy, murder suspense story ! Many ups and downs and twists and turns! Meghan must find the real murderer! Amber’s best so far! You must read it! Get snacks and plan to not move for a couple hours!📚❤️
Meghan can't wait to get married to her Prince Charming. Her good friend wants to give her a bachelorette party but this is not really Meghan’s cup of tea, but finally says OK. Jackie is doing all the planing and inviting of friends. Next thing Megan knows she is up before the chickens and at the airport for a surprise trip to who knows where. After they board the plane she finds out they are on their way to Las Vegas. Not long after they land things begin to go bad. First the hotel is a dump, then they go see a show and the Elvis impersonator drops dead on stage with Meghan on stage with him. Then things just go down hill after that. This is a fun read. The friends are trying to make the most of it but trouble seams to follow them every where. Will they find out if the death is natural causes or did someone kill Elvis. Meghan is the first suspect since she was on stage with him. The book kept you interested because you just had to know what happened next.
Rhubarb Pie and Revenge is book 18 in the Sandy Bay Cozy Mystery series.
Viva Las Vegas! This book is full of 'Suspicious Minds' when an Elvis impersonator is murdered in Las Vegas, where Meghan is 'All Shook Up' after being accused of the murder.
With a dilapidated 'Heartbreak Hotel', murder on stage, a nasty police officer, a missing friend, and attempted murder, will Jack be asking Meghan to 'Wear My Ring Around Your Neck' when she is singing 'Jailhouse Rock' in prison or will she find the 'Devil in Disguise' and be happily 'Crying in the Chapel' on their wedding day?
Sorry about all the Elvis song titles but I couldn't resist. I read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book with no obligation.
I love all of Amber Crewes Cozy Mysteries that take place in Sandy Bay, but this time most of it takes place in Los Vegas and you can’t have Vegas and not have an Elvis or two or three. Most of the time in Sandy Bay Mrs. Sherideden is annoying to me, but we get to see a different side of her when she talks to Meghan. You HAVE to READ this book to find out what all happens in Vegas to the mainly calm and quite ladies from Sandy Bat. There is even some humor in a Murder. Thr characters in Sandy Bat are wonderfully brought to life and you feel you could be friends with them also. Amber Crewes is the MASTER of the COZY MYSTERY GENRE!!
Meghan is excited to return home after getting engaged during the holidays at her parents’ home. But her friends have other ideas as they schedule a bachelor party in Las Vegas. She isn’t too excited since it isn’t her type of scene.
But Vegas soon become a nightmare and Elvis dies during a night out and she is accused of murder. She will be stuck in Vegas unless she can find the real killer. Throw in one of her friends go missing during the festivities like she has nothing to worry about.
If I were Megan, I’d find new friends or do without any. They are mostly self-centered. This was a bachelorette party from hell.
I had a hard time keeping up with the characters as Mrs. Sheridan and a few others sounded exactly alike.
Redeeming qualities were: Mrs. Sheridan’s remarks to Megan at the end of the book. She should have told someone in the group she was departing Las Vegas. That’s just common courtesy among friends.
A fun and intriguing mystery! I love the characters created by Amber Crewes and the way that this book brings all of them together. They are an unusual group of friends to Meghan with ages from 21 years old to 50+ years older. This story keeps the reader intrigued with non-stop adventures in the City of Sin. This is a fun read and a great addition to this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and provided my honest review.
This book was fantastic! Everything that could go wrong at a Bachelorette party in Vegas did go wrong. The bride was accused of a murder she didn’t commit, the hotel was a dump and the food horrible. I loved the characters and the plot. This story was hilarious! I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a funny, quick read to escape into! I can’t wait for the next book from this amazing author!
Meghan really doesn't want a bachelorette party but her best friend leaves her no choice in the matter. From the very beginning, anything that could go wrong, did! But when The King is murdered, all clues point to Meghan and her rhubarb pie. The news media has her sleeping with the victim prior to his death and the police throw her in jail. She is going to have to find the guilty party or never get out of Vegas!
Off to Las Vegas for fun and frolic and a great bachelorette party that the bride to be, Meghan, does not want and she lets everyone know right from the outset. It is one disaster after another from the crummy hotel to the insane characters, it all stacks up to be a mess that Meghan has to pull everyone out of. Party? I think not. Fun? Well it is for us the readers. A great book to wind down with.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. Jackie treats Meghan to the bachelorette party from hell. Meghan is accused of killing and having an affair with an Elvis impersonator (by the press) and is constantly hounded by tourists. She sets out to find the real killer so that she can go home. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it.
Megan is engaged to Jack and her friends want to give her a party. Against her wishes they decide to make it Law Vegas. Things go wrong from the beginning and before she knows it Megan is being suspected of murder. Lots of twists and turns, action and headaches. I will be looking for more books in this series.
The girls are at it again. Trouble just seems to follow this group, no matter where they go. They head to Vegas for Megan's bachelorette party and things go sideways almost as soon as the arrive.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I've had friends like that, you love them deeply but they can be so exasperating at the same time! Agr all that went on, I'm afraid would have had to have left, or at least tried to, when all that stuff was happening. Enjoyed immensely!
A bunch of crazy events with rude, selfish, arrogant people. Dump the friend and business partner. Hopefully the fiance will be more caring. I look forward to reading more.
I loved reading about a bachelorette party that had so many misadventures. The bachelorette is wicked to Las Vegas and ends up at a rundown motel and then ends up as a murder suspect.
This adventure was too unlikely to enjoy. Meghan’s so-called best friend and business partner was unbelievably obnoxious, and Meghan was unrealistically sticky sweet. She also stayed up running around for something like 3 days and nights with only 20 minutes sleep. Not my cup of tea at all.
Painfully bad. Choppy.Cheesy. Hard to almost impossible to get through. I completed it because Amazon was gracious to offer kindle unlimited for free. Please don't waste your time.
A girls weekend starts with murder. 'Elvis' dies on stage and Megan gets tagged as the murderer. To make matters worse, friends and foes alike try to cash in on the death. A very clean cozy. I was gifted this from the author.
Girls together before the one says I Do, in Las Vegas. With Elvis, Murder and suspicion on one of them, it will be a time they will remember. Good story and narration. Given audio for my voluntary review
A bachelorette party in Las Vegas is the last place Meghan would have chosen to celebrate. The celebration turns into a nightmare. Meghan just wants to go home. A must read to discover the troubles that the women face.
