Maybe more 2.5

Found this one a little confusing but not bad enough to stop me reading on.

I didn’t really get into it or get behind any of the characters. The magic of this - what I’m assuming is an alternative world - and “healing” didn’t make much sense.

I was pleased to find the girl being held for her healing ability wasn’t the typical - teen in a basement abused by her father. But she’s from a rich family and tightly controlled, sold out once a year to the highest bidder for her healing magic. Despite being the damsel in distress, I didn’t really have empathy for her.
This years winner is a hot dude who immediately gets a boner when he sees her (Insert eye roll here)
I didn’t really like Ransom much, the instalust/ mate thing wasn’t done particularly well and he only ever seems to think with his dick.
He also lost all brownie points when he fell asleep after she gave him a BJ when it was her first time touching anyone, ever.

Sorry Ki you may be experiencing everything for the first time but my pleasure is more important, then I shall fall asleep on you.
Not cool

The rest of the sex scenes were .. a little rough and not enjoyable. He thinks he can just wham bam thank you mam.. on a girl who was a virgin 5 min ago?? I think it was trying too hard to be something else. It was just off putting.

The rest of the harem ... well I have no idea who is who. Apart from the Doctor.. because he’s the Dr. They didn’t play a big part but also had a strange insta-bond that I didn’t really care about.

It’s not a bad read, just didn’t inspire any great feelings for me. Except a bit of confusion.

I read into book 2 (which is out already) and stopped at 23%. It went into multiple POVs and I had no idea who was who and the dialogue was very confusing.
Just not inspiring for me but others might enjoy it more than me!

Honestly, I have nobody to blame but myself.
I bought this because it was on special at audible. I didn't even read the synopsis.
It felt like a teenager's wet dream but I want to be fair.
The best I can say is it's not for me. I'm sure the target audience love it but that ain't me.

Absolutely loved this book!! I made the mistake of starting caged magic at 8 in the evening. I feel like I didn't sleep because I couldn't put it down, it was that good! This book had me crying from everything Kiema has gone through. Sadie has done a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. This series begins as a m/f romance however it has the making of a reverse harem, so if that's not your thing then move on. For all the reverse harem fans, you need to give this a try.

Warning!!! Spoiler Alert!!!
Kiema was imprisoned by her parents but allowed to have outside contact once a year. She meets Ransom, a very ill client who needs healing. She heals him, they form a relationship due to their proximity and are eventually linked (kind of like a mate bond). She meets Ransoms friends/colleagues and gets more information on her abilities and their research. FYI, the book ends with us wanting more, more answers, more sex, more magic.

I highly recommend this book and praise Sadie Jacks for a tremendous job on her story.

Well damn.

That was kind of short and sweet.

Good plot.
Shitty parents, bereft daughter, the usual.
Decent character development.
The only timing I’m questioning is the time it took for Ransom and Kiema to fall in love. But whatever, I can deal with the insta-love for now.

Six?? Seven??
SEVEN MEN??
Again?
I mean, we’ve been through this.

This is me assuming Lukas is part of this harem, mind you.

But that’s a lot of dicks for someone who hadn’t even gotten to so much as SHAKE HANDS with another person in all of her 28 years of life.

(It only sorta bothered me how she acted as a 28 year old but due to her upbringing... understandable.)

That many mates in the harem usually means some get thrown in the back burner like yesterday’s news.

This will be interesting.

The hot and heavy scenes were certainly hot and the men’s POV didn’t make me cringe (like it sometimes does in other books) so overall I CALL THIS A SUCCESS.

Slap my titty, Ransom, and call me intrigued.
Onto book 2.

Imprisoned by parents for her healing abilities providing them materialistic pleasures.... freedom in her mind, Kiema takes one last seeker... Lil did she know, the seeker going to change everything... her life, her freedom and himself...

Sadie conceived a wonderful plot with strong character maintaining intrigue with much needed drama and passion right from the very first word..
Highly recommended!!

This was a great start to a new series. I read a lot of paranormal stories. What I like about this new series is that it is unique in my opinion. The author did not simply clone other books about magic like so many others I have read.

The world building is fast enough to keep me from being bored without crossing the line into too fast and confusing.

I also appreciate the way that the relationships are built in this book. The main characters relationship with one member of the reverse harem builds very quickly and yet makes sense for the context of the plot. Her relationships with the other members are still building. It is not slow burn and it is not insta-love. (They even hate/strongly dislike each other at first.) I would classify this book as a medium burn.

Finally, I enjoy the plot about evil corporations. The book ended without resolving everything and yet was not as upsetting as some cliffhangers. I am not even sure which of the bad guys are truly bad and which might end up being kind of good. I look forward to the next book!

Absolute must read

I need so much more of this story/ series because I need some answers. I love this awesome book and the characters. I especially loved the karma that some people got but the ending just irritated my soul. I need the next book ASAP

Fudge the book was so good it brought to a crying state!!

I really loved the the book but fudge you author, why did you have to make it so good. And the cliffhanger is the most illegal shit in the book. I hate it yet love it to death. And I can’t wait until the next book comes out to read it. It’s too bloody good, and you are a genius with words.

The thing is I get very attached the characters for each book series I read and then when/if they get killed off I cry very hard. Or if a character has been through hard times and other characters come to aid them and help them over time see that they are stronger with each other it hits me in the feels and gives me goosebumps. Thats what this book made me feel. And even typing this I am trying not to cry thinking about the book.

The book is so emotional and all the surprises in the book just jump at you as they come. The book brings you into another world and just gives you a moment in time to enjoy the other world you’re in. To enjoy that you connect with the characters, but also connect with the author more and to see what they want you to see. Take the book as you will but this book is so amazing. It touches your soul in a way that you wish you had when you meet the love of your life, or when you meet your chosen family. This is why I love the book. The emotions it brings out is what I want to read. I would rather read a book that is filled with these things and is late to being published, instead of reading a half assed nook that doesn’t make sense. Thats what I look in a book and this book has it all.

Amazing!

I loved this book! Loved the twist on healing and magic, it was a great start to a series. Characters are like able and will flesh out nicely as we get further into this world. Kiema is a great MC. The guys are a little jumbled for me but they have a lot of potential as Kiema gets to know them better. Can’t wait for book 2!

Caged Magic Review
Hold on to your panties ladies things are about to get... HOT!
Caged Magic is an exceptionally well written piece of gold. The characters are totally lovable and oh so desirable. The villains are bad to the bone and you'll hate them with a passion.
In a world, not unlike our own, where magic is a commodity bought and sold to the highest bidder, Kiema Feuer will steal your heart. I loved her struggle to accept that she too deserved love and the basic human need of touch, it is both heart-warming and heart-wrenching. Add to that the rougish Ransom unloved by his parents as well and his band of misfits. What starts out as Ransom's last chance to be healed from a mysterious illness that saps the life from him blossoms into so much more, for all of them.
Congratulations Sadie on a work of brilliance, I cannot wait delve deeper into Kiema's magical world and discover exactly who she is and the power she may wield with the help of oh so sexy band of Misfits.

Pretty Good

I liked this a lot and ended up reading it straight through. There are some things that made me say huh, but I was able to overlook them. I like Kiema a lot. Random is Pretty good, too. I'm interested in knowing more about the others as well, especially Saint and Taryk. I wonder if any of the OTIS guys will be mixed in as well. There's definitely something going on with those guys.

What can I say about Caged Magic? I can start with spectacular. Phenomenal. Astounding! I don't like leaving reviews that spoil anything, so if you are looking for that, you have found the wrong review. :) Sadie Jacks takes on paranormal romance in an exciting way!
Caged Magic is the first in the series (SQUEE!!) of the Iron Serpent collection. Follow Kiema (rhymes with PIE-eema) on a journey through 'hell', lust, danger, magic, and the sexy Ransom!

Sadie Jacks truly delivers with everything a paranormal romance should be! AND to make it even better? It hints (in this book at least) at reverse harem! (DOUBLE SQUEE!!) She is an incredible author and you would never know this was her first ever PNR!! Way to write, Sadie! 💗

Interesting Magic

I really loved this book. It's slightly different to a lot of the stuff out there right now. Yes it's magic and paranormal but it's done slightly different and the restraints and boundaries of that magic were really interesting too (plus one for that!!) I love th FMC. She's had it rough - still not completely sure how rough but there are hints. But despite this she hasn't turned into a major b*tch like often happens. It's so refreshing to read a book where the main character acts her age too. The relationships she start to form were handled maturely and without unnecessary angst. Also this was hot. NSFW. The plot was really strong too and I got caught up in the twists and turns. I'll be looking forward to reading more in this world.

5 Stars for a Fantastic Debut Book

Caged Magic is engaging right from the start. I’m a sucker for alpha MC’s and by the second chapter I knew Sadie Jacks had given me that with both lead characters. When you start this book, make sure you have time to finish it in one go, because you will not be able to put it down. There aren’t any lull’s in the story, it’s constantly moving and taking you along for the ride. Sadie Jacks has a way with character and world building that draws you in, makes you root for the main characters and yell at the villains. I can’t wait for the second book in the series Wild Magic and have already recommended this author to everyone I know.

Immature & Disapointing

I DNF at around 53%. I was confused by all the good reviews so I went back to look at some more of what people were saying about it & one review summed it up. The characters are immature. The flow of the story/the story telling is atrocious. There is no chemistry, its insta-lust. The sex scenes were just really mediocre, no feeling or meaning. There's no world building. It was as if it was written overnight.

A wonderfully unique story.

I'm really excited for the next book in the series. The writing was well done with few errors, the plot moved along at a good pace, and I enjoyed the characters. It'll be interesting to see where it goes. So many paranormal stories follow the same lines. Caged Magic was a refreshing read out of the mainstream.

Paranormal Hot Hot Fantasy

Adults only! This was a seriously amazing mix of paranormal, fantasy and more, can’t say or it will be a spoiler. The MC Kiema is feisty, fierce and fun. Her parents suck. Her healing is off the charts. I really enjoyed this book and will be going straight to number 2. Awesome work, no editing errors either :)

An amazing read!

Caged magic is an amazing read, it has a fresh storyline and has amazing characters. This book is not your ordinary shifter-magic book. The storynis not dragging and will make you ask for more. If you are into magic and shifters, this is the book for you.
