This is the last book in this 4 book collection that finally wraps things up in the amazing and entertaining series. Don't let the length of this novella fool you, it has substance, a great conclusion, and leaves you with a sense of satisfaction with how it all winds up. You should probably go back and read the others before you read this book to get the most out of the series. In a nutshell: Never a spoiler in my reviews: well written, great characters and a wonderful, fun, series. All of the books are fast-paced and a quick read. Go get them now. I received a complimentary copy of this book and this opinion is solely mine.

The final installment in this series provides also a conclusion to the Stones of Amaria stories. As the onyx is the last stone to be destroyed, Dawn is the last one to stand against the dictator and crush all his hopes to return. Nevertheless, she needs to win back the Staff of Sullivan, figure out its role and abilities, and of course, wake Seph to bring back someone more important to her. With all the darkness around, only the love of her parents and devoted friendship of her closest ones are the beacon of light.
There is one nice thought that stands out across all the series - your choices are what defines you. It's not the color of magic (in the case of the story), nor is it the looks, talent, whatever abilities or physical features you may think of. Prejudices are strong and one tends to judge based on many signs without really giving the person a chance. I loved this about Dawn, about how she became defined over the course of this series, and even with practicing more and more of black magic, she never deviated from her true self, never changed her heart (only opinions). I much appreciated the way she matured and in the end, was able to find the courage and strength to fight until the last moment. This character development is a strong asset, recognizable also in the other characters, and with such a strong base, the combination with great storytelling and fast pace makes the whole series an amazing read.

Will Ryze Fall?

Necromancer Uprising: Book 4 finishes the saga of the Necromancer Academy with a positive flourish. Although the story begins with Ryze in possession of 4 of the 5 Stones of Amaria and making his way towards Seph and the Onyx stone, Dawn and the other students are prepared to fight to the death to save the Academy and Amaria.

Much is at stake, including the possession of the Sullivan Staff, which means life or death for Ramsey's family. Additionally, Dawn believes it holds the key to awakening her roommate, Seph, as well as winning the fight against Ryze.

What I liked about this book was the complete finishing of all of the various plot lines. I feel so much better when the book is complete. Lindsay R Loucks has done a great job of spinning a complex fantasy, finishing with a positive ending.

The only thing I would change would be to consolidate the four books into a single book. I prefer a longer, meatier novel, and some prefer the several short-form books. This is just my preference, not a criticism of the book. Well done, Lindsay R Loucks.

The Final Confrontation . . .

Book 4 gives us the last push to deal with necromancer Ryze’s evil reign as he tries to maintain his power over Amaria. If Dawn and her friends have any chance at all of stopping him, this is the moment. She must recover The Staff of Sullivan and find out its importance and whether she can bring Ramsey back.

The narrator for the audiobook is Alyse Gibbs. She does a great job with the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate idea of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood and is a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

This final book in the series is even more action packed the previous ones, and just wouldn’t let me put it down right until the very end. I’m just glad I had time that day to read the last 85% in one sitting! Loved the characters, the friendship and love between them. And think the names of the twins will stick with me forever! Great conclusion to a fabulous series. Really wish the ride wasn’t over.

Necromancer Uprising is finally the conclusion to all the cliffhangers the author has tortured us with in the last few months. The final showdown with the big bad has arrived and it takes all of Dawn's skills and that of her friends to lay the smackdown on the evil necromancer Ryze. True love and true friendship hang in the balance as Dawn's story comes to an exciting yet satisfying happy ending. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy.

I truly hope this is not the ending, this story was short and held your attention from the beginning. Dawn and her friends must defeat Ryze and bring back Seph and Ramsey. The staff of Sullivan plays an important role and I was disappointed that we didn’t learn more about it. There are a few places where I held my breath waiting for something bad to happen, cue in the scary music! I received an arc and the opinions and views are my own. I would recommend this book.

Audiobook- The gang is back for this latest short story edition of the Necromancer Uprising series. The team once again finds themselves in a dangerous situation as they try to retrieve a stolen relic. Plenty of action to keep my wayward attention. The narrator did a good with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Final fight is coming and it will be a fight to the death. The big questions is who's??? Dawn Echo and Jon are still trying to save Seph. Will they manage to save her in time or will Ryze destroy them all.
I have loved this story and the characters from the very beginning. I hate to see it end, but wow what an ending!

The author wraps up this series fantastically in this last installment. I am so invested in these characters I hate to see it end. Lots of twists and action packed with descriptive world building and in depth characters - a must read series

Necromancer Uprising. Book 4

My only complaint is that this book was in a series. I dislike that very, very much. To be honest, I’m glad I didn’t realize it until I was already into it because I try and bypass series books.
