In Bee's Flowers, you met Rachel as a married adult with two children. In Bee-Coming, you get to meet Rachel as a high school senior. She has her life planned out and is looking forward to starting her pleasant, calm future as an English major with the hopes of marrying her high school sweetheart and living a white picket fence life. After her favorite teacher gives Rachel some unwanted advice, Rachel is left wondering where she should go in her life. Is she boring? Too controlling? Grandma Betty, the sassy creator of Bee's Flowers, will take you on her journey as well, starting as a high school senior in the late 1960s. You will get to see her fighting for what she wants during a time of turmoil in the world. Betty wants nothing more than to start her flower business, even though her mother would prefer that Betty become a secretary. Being 18 in 1969 has its own set of challenges as she and her peers deal with the Vietnam War. As Rachel and Betty each embark on their own adventure, you'll get a glimpse into each woman's private thoughts as they document the state of their lives in letters, emails, and diary entries. Each woman's journey ends up being necessary to help them discover who they want and are meant to be. Bee-Coming isn't always easy.
“I’m not sure if I’ve ever told you the story of how I started Bee’s Flowers,” my grandma began.
I’d heard it my entire life, so I was surprised she would ask. “Of course, I know the story,” I replied. “Well,” my grandma continued, “You know that my grandfather gave me some money to help fund Bee’s?” I, of course, always sensed that they had a special relationship. You could tell every time we visited my great-great-grandpa that Grandma Betty was special to him. I had never grasped the importance of his involvement in the success of Bee’s Flowers, and I was looking forward to hearing more of the story. "I enjoyed this book more than the first (which was hard). I spent a lot of time crying while reading this and will be getting as many of my friends to read it as I can!" Jen P. •Amazon Review

Corlet (Cor-lay) is the international-selling author of the Bee's Flowers series. She recently signed with Magnolia Blossom Publishing to rerelease the series, with the first book releasing in March 2022. Her first thriller/horror book will be coming soon from RavensTale Publishing. In addition, she has also written a children's book, available with all major book retailers and on Audible.

She knew that she was equally compassionate and creative from a young age. She uses these qualities in her career as a nurse and her passion as an author.

She is a Colorado native. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and being active. She is lucky enough to live in Colorado, where there are more sunny days than not. She loves to run, hike, garden, and kickbox. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, teenage daughter, and two dogs. Her dream job would be to travel the world and write books full-time. She has dance parties as often as possible.

Corlet was inspired to write the Bee's Flowers books after being raised with a grandmother, mother, and sister who all loved flowers. She often wondered about flower shops and the different reasons people would purchase flowers. She started writing the first book ten years ago, but during her nursing rotations, she further explored the idea, and eventually, Bee's Flowers began to form.

She is unsure of the origin story behind her name. Her parents tell her a different story every time.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Bees Flowers, you will be doubly entertained by reading the prequel, Bee Coming! Corlet Dawn takes you through time, across generations and ages of the the Bee family. You will mourn with and celebrate the joys of two of the main characters as they become women and discover who they are. I guarantee by the time you turn the final page you will be both longing for more and wishing you belonged to this lively and endearing family of Bees! I miss them already.

The prequel to Bee's flowers is adorably and unimaginably written well by this author! She has a wild imagination and knows how to put emotion in her writing. I felt the relationships bossom between the characters and felt the emotion being expressed by them.
Make no mistake, this prequel isn't laid out like most other books. The chapters alternate between the life of the oldest Bee granddaughter and Grandmother Bee.
I cannot say enough about how imaginative it had been for this Author to create and tell the story in the format like she has!
I look forward to many more books from her!

Well Corlet Dawn did it again! She graciously sent us her new books Bee-Coming and Bee Our Guest and I LOVED them! These are a prequel and a sequel to her book Bee’s Flowers, which I also loved!
In Bee-Coming, we get to find out how Grandma Betty and her granddaughter Rachel came into their own in parallel story lines. It was so sweet seeing how similar their young adult years were. They are both fiercely independent and followed their hearts instead of conforming to what society expected of them. I also greatly appreciate the support that this book shows to military members. Casey and I are both military wives and we know first hand how difficult of a life it can be. So I want to give a HUGE thank you to Corlet for portraying that in her book!
In Bee Our Guest, we pick up where Bee’s Flowers left off but we are now following Rachel’s younger sister, Stacia, as she prepares for her upcoming wedding to Marco.
These are lighthearted and heartwarming books that are quick and easy to read! I love a story revolving around a close family dynamic. These characters will stay with you! I just finished them and am already planning a reread!

Loved this prequel to Bee’s Flowers! This is a real coming of age story for both Betty and Rachel. So fun to get to know these women at such a pivotal time in their lives and also to see where life leads them. I loved the multi-generational story line and the strong family connection between the characters. If you’ve read Bee’s Flowers, you will enjoy the back story and getting a more in-depth understanding of how these women came to be who they are as you know them. If you haven’t, you can start with Bee-Coming and then find out what happens to all of these characters later in life in Bee’s Flowers. These well-written stories can really be read in either order. Looking forward to what this author has for us next!

“Bee-Coming” author Corlet Dawn has the ability to create characters that seem real – whether a young woman who travels to Woodstock in a VW bus in ’69 or a recent high-school graduate who tours Europe solo in the 21st Century. Dawn also wrote vividly of the heartache (and duty) of separation caused by military deployment to the jungles of Southeast Asia or the desert of the Middle East. Both of her books glow with the power of relationships through the good and bad times. What makes Dawn’s prolific writing even more surprising is she also has been in the healthcare frontlines as an ER nurse. Thanks for being an author and a nurse, Corlet. – Gregg Piburn

It takes a lot to write a great prequel! Corlet has done an amazing job looking into the lives of two of the main characters from her first book Bee's Flowers! It has been amazing to see this brand new author and what her imagination will come up with. I felt like I was part of the character's lives! I believe that anybody would love her books and be able to relate to some of the characters in some way. I cannot wait to see what else this talented and amazing author has in store next!

🐝The Plot: Amazing prequel to the ‘Bee’s Flowers’. The book tells a story about how the legendary ‘Bee’s Flowers’ Shop starts its existence. There are two storylines intertwined in this book. The second one shows Rachel and Stacia, the ladies who will own the flowers shop in perspective, in the light of their young years. Two storylines are amazingly intertwisted into the one, welcoming a reader in the ‘Bee’s Flowers’ Shop.
